Sheaffer Told Me To Top 10 Reader Favorites | 2018 !!!

2018 has been quite a year for Sheaffer Told Me To.  Thanks to you ladies and the fact that you’re so willing to share this space with your friends and family, the blog continues to grow.  You recommending the blog to others is the highest compliment I can receive, and I’m incredibly grateful to all of you for your love, your loyalty, and your support.  From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!  I know it sounds cliche, but your feedback and constant support is what makes this blog so rewarding for me.

I thought naming the TOP 10 ITEMS FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR was a fun post to do right now for several reasons:  1)  As 2018 comes to a close, what better way to wrap up the year than recall our favorites?  2)  I’ve never done a Top 10 list, and it was so interesting to me to look back and see what y’alls favorites were!  I would have guessed 6 of them, but 4 of them really surprised me…even though all of the Top 10 items are obviously favorites of mine!  3) I know lots of you have Christmas money burning a hole in your pocket, and these items are obviously tried and true (and I would highly recommend them all).

NUMBER TEN

#10 was a tie…..and in previous years, both of these items have made the Top 5 list.  In fact, 1 year one of them was #1.  They are still going strong several years after I first introduced them to you, although they have both dropped down to #10 this year.  Can you guess what they are?

I’ll give you a hint, I wear at least 1 of them EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

And although this bra didn’t make the top 10 list, it should have.  I mean, it’s a strapless bra that I wear when I don’t even have to wear a strapless.  Yes, it’s that good.

Also, although they didn’t make the Top 10 list, these undies are new favorites for me for sure.  I found them this year, and I like them even more than the above when a panty line is a concern.  We’re talking NO VISIBLE PANTY LINES.  AT ALL.  Click HERE to get to two different posts I wrote this year about my favorite items from Soma!  It’s a brand that I now love.  My favorite Soma items are the no show undies, the wireless enbliss bralette, and their cool nights pajamas.

NUMBER NINE

Two pairs of jeans made the Top 10 list this year, and they are both from the same maker!  Any guesses?

#9 is a pair that I included in a post called 8 Fall Staples as well as a post a post entitled “Why You need a Pair of  xxxxx xxxxx That You Love!”

NUMBER EIGHT

We’ve got another tie y’all.  These two items were neck and neck (I could hardly believe it!), so I went ahead and just assigned them both the Number 8 spot.

These items were both named after me, so I’m incredibly thankful to y’all for supporting me in this manner!  Y’all are THE BEST.  I really mean that.

NUMBER SIX

This item has been in my Top 10 since the beginning.  It’s been in my Top 3 for several years, but I’m guessing that after so many years that most of y’all already have at least 1.  And let’s be honest, I’m guessing that many of y’all have more than 2.  #nojudgement #ihave4

First there was the original,  then there was the baby, then there was the hooded.

I have 1 original, 2 baby (just got the new purple color this year and love it), and 1 hooded.  I love them all for different reasons.

If you don’t have one, I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to spend Christmas money on one of the above blardigans.  Like, even if you have just $100, GIFT YOURSELF A BLARDIGAN.

Yes, they’re expensive, BUT YOU WON’T REGRET IT.  I wear one pretty much every day.

NUMBER FIVE

Initially, I was super surprised to see that THESE BABIES made the Top 5.

But after I thought about it, it made sense.  I pretty much wore these 80% (or more) of the days this past summer.  They are so comfy, they are so flattering, and I just love them.  Looking back, it seems obvious that I should have definitely named them a MUST HAVE.

NUMBER THREE

So #3 was a new item to the blog this year.  It’s a pair of shoes, and the moment I saw them, I knew they were going to be a huge hit.  After having them in cognac for a bit, I also purchased them in black.

They weren’t too high, they weren’t too low, they were comfy, and the style could easily be dressed up or down.

NUMBER TWO

Y’all.  This one shocked me.

I mean, NUMBER TWO isn’t even something that you wear.

WHAT?  HOW COULD THAT BE?

    It was the blanket for me! We are a cozy blanket family and everyone fussed over who gets what blanket….so I ordered 4 in all different colors so everyone has their own. I just ordered another bright cherry yellow one for my step daughter to be cozy in when she goes back to college! I’m thinking of ordering a few more after the holiday season just to replace old blankets we’ve had for years.

    Let’s see.. I have the Natori undies, two blardigans (the original and the baby), the jean shorts, and the slim fit UGGs. I buy pretty much everything online based on somebody’s advice but I have to say your items are my most worn/best purchases.     I have several of your recos… the blardigan which I got during a sale! I also don’t wear any other bras than the natori now… and even got my mom on board .. also have always been able to pick one up during a sale! Ok I LOVE my Zella live in leggings and are surprised they aren’t still a top ten! Great recommendation on those! Love your blog ❤️

    I bought the Sims stone necklace, boot cut jeans, low profile Uggs and the earrings from the Amazon post. LOVE all of them!

    Other purchases in the past couple of months that I LOVE have been the Gorjana earrings, the long (adjustable) arrow necklace by Madewell in two tone, the choker station necklace from Nordstrom, the $14.95 (on sale) plaid poncho from Nordstrom, Rhett earrings from astella & Dot, and the blush poncho from Stella & Dot! I’m probably leaving out a couple of things!

    Fun post!! My favorite this year was definitely the blanket. Purchased for our home in a beautiful dark green color + 4 gifts for family members when they were on sale for Black Friday and it is sooooo cozy!!

    Bummed that I didn’t get one of those totes when you first posted because now they are sold out.

    I wanted to love the jeans, but they are too short for us tall girls. Hopefully W&W will figure out that they need tall sizes as well.

    I love this recap! I tell my husband (and all my girlfriends) that ALL my favorite cozy things, I learned about from your blog! I now have 2 blardigans, the comfy blanket (and gifted no less than 5 at Christmas!), just got the slim profile Uggs, the Wacoal strapless (which I agree should have made the list, along with all the Soma items!). In addition to owning those items myself, I’ve gifted just about all of them! 2 items I was surprised to see didn’t make the cut: the glitter studs and the gold circle necklace (hello…$12!!!).     I’ve been reading your blog for years, and love it for so many reasons. I have purchased so many of your recommendations. You have become my “personal shopper”. Thank you!! I have three favorites from this year’s top ten. My #1 are the Wit and Wisdom jeans in black and although I bought them last year, and I’ve gained a few pounds, they still fit great, and they haven’t faded! Second, are my slim fit Uggs. They are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn! I wore them all over Seattle earlier this month in the rain. Love that they’re water resistant! I also bought the Ugg slippers for Christmas gifts and they were a huge hit! Third is my Sims “Holt” necklace. I ordered this just before our city got hit by Hurricane Michael. Because our town was so ravaged, we weren’t getting any mail, and deliveries were being sent back to the sender. My necklace showed up several weeks later, just in time for a trip that I had planned to wear it on. Whew! I love it, the tiger eye beads are beautiful, and I’m so happy it supported a good cause! Lastly, but certainly not least, an “honorable mention” goes to the “should have made the list” strapless bra. I bought it to wear for my sons wedding this summer, and I did not have to adjust it all! Love, love, love it! I know this was lengthy, but, I just wanted to share why I love your recommendations. Just a side note, did you know that if you search “blardigan” on the Norsdtom website that it’ll takes you to the Barefoot Dreams cardigan? How cool is that? I have purchased the “blardigan” for gifts, I really need to “bite the bullet” and get one for myself one day.     Hi Sheaffer! I have purchased two of the super soft and cozy blankets that you described. One is in my living room where it gets lots of use and one was gifted to my friend for her chemo bag. She is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer and so a group of us got together and got her the blanket to keep her warm and cozy during her treatments. We (her friends) feel so helpless so we make her family food and we got her the blanket. Thanks to your recommendation, she is a teeny bit more comfortable during the fight of her life.

Even though they’re not in the top 10, the Zella workout recommendations have been my favorite; not just for working out but lounging too! Clearly I have a need for extreme comfort =) Love the blardigans so much – I was recently quite sick after dental surgery and the entire time, all I wore was my blardigan, a cami & joggers.     I love so many of these items! I have #10 Bliss Panties, #7 Baby Blardigan and Hooded Blardigan, #4 Uggs Slim Profile Boots (but I have the Kara instead of the Amie – a black pair of Amie’s is on my list), and last but not least, I have ordered the 90 Degree leggings from Amazon… anxiously awaiting their arrival!!

    I wear leggings so much more often than I do jeans, but it looks like I will have to order a pair of the black and a pair of the skinny Wit and Wisdom jeans… heck maybe even the boot cut!!

    Sheaffer, may I ask favor? As spring fashions are released, will you please do a post on tops that are long enough to wear with leggings? Leggings are my go-to staple but I will only wear them out in public with a long top that covers my behind. I’m desperate for new tops!! 😀

    I have both Wit and Wisdom Jeans. I LOVE them and I am hard to please with jeans. I have the necklace you posted from Accessory Concierge for the fundraiser for your cousin’s boy. I ordered four of them and they were big hits for Christmas and did something good…always a win for me. The totes will be purchased as birthday presents for some of my favorites this year! If I had one other favorite it’s the Caslon olive green cargo pants. I have worn those so much and just love them. Thanks for your suggestions. I have 2 blardigans & I gifted one to my niece when she had her first baby. I own two pairs of the slim Uggs. I have a pair or two of the wit & wisdom jeans and turned one of my besties on to them as well.     Thanks to you, I traded in my VS bras for Natori and my Lee jeans for Wit and Wisdom. However, my #1, ABSOLUTE SHEAFFERTOLDMETO find is the plush blanket from Nordstrom. And, here’s why…A friend of mine from high school, who I recently reconnected with, has Stage IV cancer. I went to see her after Christmas and wanted to bring her a present. I wasn’t sure of her dietary restrictions so food gifts were out. Flowers seemed like they would require care to water and not last. And then, you posted this list on Instagram and I instantly knew what to get her. I ordered the blanket in the deep plum and picked it up at my local Nordstrom’s on my way to see her. Of course, it was wrapped with a beautiful ribbon. The look of sheer delight when she opened her gift is burned in my memory. And she just texted me to tell me that she has been cocooned in her blanket since our visit two days ago. THANK YOU Sheaffer for pointing me to the perfect gift.     I love your top ten list and I love following you! Alright, I love the Natori Pure luxe and Bliss perfection bras! Natori have become my absolute favorite bras! I agree too on the red carpet strapless bra, hands down the best strapless bra I have ever worn! I could not believe, it does not move!!!

    I bought the Calypso barefoot dreams cardigan several years ago when I first started following you, the original, but I really think I need a baby blardigan!!! Their stuff is just so amazing!
