NEW SUMMER FAVORITES: Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Collection!

Y’ALL!  IT’S LIVE!  It’s FINALLY LIVE!

My friend Cassie’s line, the Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Collection, is now available at Nordstrom!!!  Let that sink in.  I can’t even believe it.  She’s worked so hard on this for so many months, making sure that everything would be perfect.  And you know what?  IT IS!  And it’s available AT NORDSTROM!  #whoah  I’m SO PROUD of her and SO EXCITED about all of the cute new pieces in my closet!

I would be buying and wearing all of the pieces in the entire collection even if a dear friend wasn’t responsible for them, but the fact that she is just makes my heart swell with pride.  I can’t wait till I get the first compliment when I’m out and about town.  You can better believe I’ll be like “RIGHT????  MY FRIEND!!!!!  SHE DID THIS!”

So let’s get straight to it.  I am concerned that some of the most popular pieces in the most popular sizes are going to sell out, so let’s not waste any more time.  These clothes are going to seriously up your Summer outfit game.

ORANGE FLORAL HALTER

I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite piece, but if I HAD TO, I think this orange halter would be it.  The cut is so incredibly flattering (you’ll love how your arms and shoulders look), and even though it comes in other colorways, I was immediately drawn to this gorgeous and bright orange floral.  And I think it’s an incredible deal at $49.

It ties at the back of the neck which creates pretty little gathers around the neckline.  It’s cut generously, so it doesn’t hug the body at all, it just skims the body and is easy and breezy.  The back is longer, so it covers your backside, and although it can be worn out, I prefer it with a half tuck.

For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the halter (true to size, but cut generously) and a 4 in the jeans (true to size).  The wedges are true to size as well.  And if you don’t have it yet, you must get best strapless bra ever.  #thatsanorder

It would look great with denim, but I wanted to first pair it with bright white!  I grabbed my new jeans (from my post with Ann Taylor this past Friday), and I loved the little feminine detail of the tie at the ankles with this halter.  I’ll also be wearing this halter with my favorite cut offs , the official jeans of summer, as well as nicer slacks!  This top is going to be so versatile, I think I’m going to have to grab the classic black as well.

My bag for this outfit was an easy decision.  The white leather and brown basket weave combination paired perfectly with the entire outfit.  This bag is well made, sturdy, and has so many nice little details all the way down the leopard lining.  I love a bag with a special lining.

I continued the white theme and grabbed my new pair of large white circle hoops.  They are light as can be, but pack quite a punch because of their size.  I love how white earrings show up in my dark hair.

And seriously.  Look at the neckline of this gorgeous top.  So pretty and flattering!

I got a spray tan (#yourewelcome) just for the occasion of breaking out this top for the first time, and I cannot wait to wear it all summer long!

My must have wedges were the obvious choice for this outfit.  The warm brown of the leather with the raffia wedge just kept the summer vibes going.  They are comfy as all get out, and true to size.  I have them in black too, but I reach for this color 90% of the time.

THE PERFECT PINK TEE

A great shade of pink is hard to find.

I love pink, but I think a great blush and a great hot pink are both hard to get right.  I’ve ordered lots of both shades over the years and sent them back because they weren’t quite right.

But y’all, this pink is THE PERFECT PINK.  I chose this tee for myself, but great news, there are lots of items in this collection that I consider THE PERFECT PINK!

I love the fun detail of the knotted sleeves on this particular tee, but the pink ruffled racer back is darling too.  And the hot pink halter is gorgeous as well.  Just imagine this color with a deep tan!  For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the tee and the fit is relaxed, but not baggy.  I’m wearing my regular size 27s in these shorts (they are my favorite denim shorts EVER), but I would suggest sizing down if between sizes.  The 26s fit me in these, but I prefer the more relaxed look of the 27s.

Notice my hot pink studs!  These are Kendra Scott and super chunky and substantial for a “stud”.  I love them and will be wearing them all summer all around town from the pool to church.  My bracelets here are the 2 most worn bracelets I own.  The turquoise cuff and the gold bangle are great alone or stacked with a whole bunch, but I most often just pair them together.

The navy Shoreline Converse completed this casual and laid back look.  They are true to size, and if you have them already or if you grab a pair today, you need to pick up my favorite no show socks.   You can see all the Shoreline colors HERE, but I love the navy for year round wear.

SUMMERY BLACK ROMPER

If you’ve followed me for several years, you know I’m a fan of a romper.  Yes, you have to get naked to go to the bathroom, but they are so cute and comfy I don’t even care.  😉  #worthit

This romper is FABULOUS.  It’s light and breezy and just drapes perfectly on the body.  I went with the black, but it also comes in in a black floral and a blue floral.  To accommodate for my chest and my massive rib cage, I sized up to a medium and am glad that I did.  If you don’t have to compensate for a large upper body, I would just stick with your regular size.

Do you just love the whole look?  I have to say, this outfit made me feel cool. Hence, the collar pop.  🙂

My earrings are pricey, but I splurged on them a couple of months ago (I don’t think I’ve ever spent this much on a pair of earrings), and I’m glad I did.  I bought them specifically to go with a dress I was wearing to a formal event, but I’m getting so much mileage out of them.

The rainbow wood tassel necklace is a necklace that I pull out every Spring (and have for the last 4 years), and I wear it constantly all Spring and Summer.  It really elevates a tee and shorts combo, but it can also be worn with dressier items.  The wood beads stand out and just look great against so many different tops.  And awesome news: the 30% OFF MEMORIALDAY code applies to this necklace as well.  It ends tonight.

Oh!  I can’t believe I almost forgot to mention this.

LADIES.  The romper has pockets.  #allthepraisehandsforpockets  I’m not sure why I love a pocket so much, but I do.  I really really do.

And just for fun, I switched it up a bit. I pulled off the tassel necklace and threw on this straw cross body. I fell in love with the circle shape and the brightly colored design. The bag isn’t lined and it doesn’t have a closure, but I still think it’s super cute, and I love that it looks like I bought it on a beach vacation.

You need to go ahead and just add this romper to your cart right now.  I predict this is one of the pieces that might sell out early on.  And if I’ve told you once, I’ve told you 73 billion times.  You need my MUST HAVE denim jacket in your life.  I bought it 5 years ago now, and it’s still one of the most worn items in my closet.  In fact, I have it in both a medium and a small depending on what type of look I want to go for.  I’m wearing the medium here.  And my turquoise bracelet made yet another appearance.
