2020 Top 10 Reader Favorites

Today’s post is one of my very favorite posts of the year.

All year I share with y’all what my favorite things are, and then at the end of the year, I always like to see what y’alls favorite things were! I always find it super interesting to dig deep and find out what you ladies really gravitated towards, and I’m almost always surprised by at least a couple of items.

And for the record, I guess it should come as no surprise that most of MY top items ended up being some of Y’ALLS top items too!  I mean, when I absolutely LOVE something, I talk about it over and over and over again. It’s like a quirk that I have.  If I realllllllllllllly love something then I want y’all to know about it and love it too.  It’s like I make it a personal mission for you to at least try the item so you can form your own opinion!

So, I now present to you…..the 2020 STMT Reader Top 10….

NUMBER 10:  COZY FLEECE JOGGERS

I’m so surprised that these weren’t higher on the list this year…especially because #2020.

If you’ve been following for awhile, you are aware that I’m borderline obsessed with joggers. I like thin ones, I like thick ones, I like full length ones, I like capri ones.  I JUST LIKE JOGGERS.

This pair from Gibson has always been in my Top 3 pairs of joggers.  I love that they are super light weight and although they are great for lounging at home, I also love throwing them on with sneakers to bop around town.  This particular pair boasts cozy brushed fleece fabric, a drawstring waist, and front pockets.  In the past, I’ve had many readers that say they slip these on every single night after they get home from work.  Now that many people are working from home, I’m imagining that these babies are getting worn all day a great majority of the week.

I’m wearing a petite small here (I’m 5’4″), but the regular smalls provide a more relaxed look.  BIG TIP:  I thought the drawstring was too long, so I cut it on both sides and then tied a knot on both ends.

With this top, I think you can see how you could totally be wallowing on the couch as comfy as can be, but you could hop on a zoom call and the top would have you looking all sorts of put together.  I’m wearing a medium in the top.

This next top surprised me.  I mean, it’s just a long sleeve v neck, but it is definitely one of my favorite tops and I find myself reaching for it ALL THE TIME. I don’t know why, but it’s so flipping cute!  This little stripe caught my eye, and it has the perfect v, a slightly dropped shoulder, and thumb holes!  AND OHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYY WORD IT’S SO SOFT.

I also just like the way it fits.  It lays nicely, and it isn’t too fitted OR too slouchy.

NUMBER 9:  UNMENTIONABLES

#9 was a tie….. These items were #10 on last year’s list.  And in previous years, both of these items have made the Top 5 list.  In fact, 1 year one of them was #1.  They are still going strong MANY years after I first introduced them to you. Can you guess what they are?

I’ll give you a hint, I wear at least 1 of them EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

And although this bra didn’t make the top 10 list, it should have.  I mean, it’s a strapless bra that I wear when I don’t even have to wear a strapless.  Yes, it’s that good.  And one of the color options is ON SALE!

Also, although they didn’t make the Top 10 list, these undies are also favorites of mine (and y’alls as well).  I found them a couple of years ago, and I like them even more than the above when a panty line is a real concern.  We’re talking NO VISIBLE PANTY LINES.  AT ALL.  And they totally stay put. NUMBER 8:  EDGE LUX SNEAKERS

It was no surprise to me that the Edge Lux sneakers made the Top 10 list.  They are SO LIGHT, SO COMFY, and SO DANG CUTE!

NUMBER 7:  CORDLESS STICK VACUUM

THIS ONE FLOORED ME!

Although it shouldn’t have, because the feedback I’ve received regarding this vacuum has been OVERWHELMING.

Y’all love it just as much as I do.

NUMBER 6: THE BEST THROW EVER

It’s #6 this year, but it was #1 in the past!

And it’s not even something that you wear.

WHAT?  HOW CAN THIS BE?

NUMBER 5:  RADIANT CLEANSING BALM

Out of all of the products in the Colleen Rothschild line (and I use and love MANY of them), the radiant cleansing balm is my favorite product by far.  It totally changes the taking off your make up game, and I’m telling you, you won’t even dread washing your face at night.  I KNOW.  That’s a big claim, but I stand behind it.

This balm truly has a cult following.  For those of you that haven’t tried it yet, it’s different than any other cleanser I’ve ever used.  First of all, I apply it to a dry face.  I scoop out a small amount of the balm with dry hands and slather it on to my dry face.  And as I rub it on my face, the heat from my hands changes the balm into more of an oily texture and it just feels incredibly luxurious.  It melts my makeup away, leaves my skin feeling amazing and hydrated, and the light citrus smell is PERFECT.

Not only do I use it to cleanse my face morning and night, I also use it as a type of leave on mask when I’m battling dry skin.  If my skin is dry, normal moisturizer tends to just sit on the surface, and my skin won’t absorb it enough to be properly moisturized.  But when used as a mask, the cleansing balm hydrates my skin like nothing else can, and I cannot recommend it enough.

With the code it’s only $76 right now, and it’s a little over TWICE as much product as the regular size balm (which is $65)!  Depending on how much product you use, people report it lasting between 6-12 months.  I would say that it lasts a solid 9 months for me….and that’s with me using it to wash my face AND use it as a moisturizer when I need it!  When you price it out the cost per month, it’s a FANTASTIC deal.

NUMBER 4:  FACE MASKS

If you would have told me in 2019 that face masks would be on my Top 10 list in 2020, I would have thought you were crazy.

BUT HERE WE ARE.

After trying countless masks this year, these are still my favorite. This mask comes in several colors/patterns, but my favorites are the camo, the engineered stripe, and the leopard.  If I had to choose just 1, I would choose the engineered stripe because it seems to go with any outfit.

These masks have nose-to-chin coverage and are machine washable for reusable convenience. I really need my masks to have a metal nose piece that helps to keep the mask in place, and these have the metal nose piece! (I’m told the nose piece also helps glasses not to fog up, for those of you that wear glasses.) This one stays put and I never have to readjust it. And they’re cute!

When wearing them, some don’t like that they protrude out a bit under the nose, but I actually REALLLLLLLY appreciate the little bit of extra breathing room!

NUMBER 3:  BOYFRIEND DENIM SHORTS

These  boyfriend shorts have been in my personal Top 5 for the last several years, but this is the first year that I recall them making the Top 10!  I’m guessing this was their year because they appeared in almost every single one of my outfits this summer.  Seriously.  I wore them constantly.

I actually have them in both a 27 and a 28.  I like both fits.

And fyi, 10 minutes before I took this picture I was pasty white.  But my aggressive paleness was nothing my favorite tanner couldn’t fix!  I think I first used this product last summer, and now I’m very loyal.  I love the mitt it comes with and I love that you can see the color as it goes on.  It’s pretty much a fail proof application, and the color is very natural.

NUMBER 2:  WIT AND WISDOM JEANS

Y’all know I love Wit and Wisdom jeans.

In fact, this year, I think they might have been the only jean brand I ever wore.  I’m telling you, I no longer wear jeans that don’t have stretch in them.  #lifeistooshort

They are SO stretchy, SO comfy, and SO flattering…..and they come in so many different washes and styles that there’s truly something for everybody.  In fact, if we were ranking brands for the year, Wit and Wisdom would be the #1 Reader Favorite brand on the blog.  But because I showed so many different pairs of jeans, there wasn’t 1 particular pair that made the Top 10.  But there were several pair that catapulted Wit and Wisdom Jeans to the #2 favorite.

Probably my very favorite jeans this year are these raw hem ankle jeans.

These jeans were definitely the most worn jeans in my closet this year.  They are a great wash, and they are nice and clean without any distressing.  The ankle length and raw hem pair perfectly with sneakers, flats, and booties.

For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4.  And yes, they have the famous Ab-Solution technology that we’ve all grown to know and love.

And not surprising, the itty bitty boot cut jeans have made the Top 10 list.  Again.

If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you’ve heard me sing the praises of these jeans at least 350 times.  Well get ready, because today is 356.

I truly feel like everybody needs to try these jeans. You might not think you are a boot cut jeans girl, but I’d like to throw it out there that you just might be wrong.  These jeans will lengthen your legs and the Ab-solution technology will suck you in and smooth you out (without being too restrictive).  They will make you look 5 pounds thinner.  NO JOKE.  AND 2 inches taller.  NO JOKE.  They are a narrow boot cut, so you won’t be overwhelmed by the flare, and I think you will welcome having a pair of jeans in your closet that isn’t the standard skinny jean!

I’m wearing my regular size 4s, but many sizes down, especially if between sizes.  They waistband is very stretchy and very forgiving.  But don’t let the words “stretchy” and “forgiving” scare you, because these babies keep their shape all day long!  Also, at 5’4″, the petites are too short on me.  I like wearing a 3 inch wedge or heel with these jeans, and the petites would have only allowed me to wear flats, so the regular sizing works best for me.

NUMBER 1:  THE MUST HAVE JOGGERS

Y’all.  THIS ONE SHOCKED ME.

I WAS SHOOK.

Not because the joggers aren’t awesome and they don’t deserve to be number one.  BECAUSE THEY TOTALLY DO.

I’m only surprised because I didn’t even find these leggings until mid November, and they not only made the Top 10…THEY ARE NUMBER 1.

Y’all know I can’t shut up about these babies.

I can’t help it.  I ADORE mine, and I think that everybody needs to give them a try.

They are high waisted like the Zella high waisted live in leggings we all know and love.  But get this, the waistband is a soft ribbed material.  They don’t have as much compression as the original leggings, which actually makes them even more comfortable!  And I’ll take comfort over compression every day of the week.

In addition to the cute pockets and the awesome ribbed waistband, there are also cute little bands at the bottom.  So  they have jogger styling, but they fit like leggings. They’re awesome.

Also.  THEY ARE SO SOFT.  Like reallllllllllly REALLY soft.

And I’m telling you, the fit is adorable.

These are the “black”, but I think they are more of a really dark charcoal grey.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.  I’ve heard that some people are sizing down in these, but I like the fit of my regular size.

This drawstring hoodie is very soft, it’s got some stretch in it, and I like the design as well.  The contrasting drawstrings, the exaggerated hemline, and the side slits all make it super cute.  I fell in love with this vibrant blue, but it comes in a charcoal grey as well.  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.  The medium was actually a little big (see how I have the sleeves cuffed), so I wished I would have ordered a small.

    Great post! I have a question about the wit and wisdom jeans…you mentioned you are wearing your regular size..just want to confirm regular length not petite? I need another pair of jeans as I tend to reach for two pair over and over..closet purge needed stat! Also, like you the cleansing balm is one of my most favorite things ever and thanks to you I now use as a moisturizer in the winter until I wash off in the shower..really helps with my dry skin.

I recently ordered the Amazon turtleneck sweater hoping that I might get lucky. While I loved the color and the feel of it, being well endowed kept it from looking right. It was just a smidge too short over my tummy. Keep the content coming!

    Love the Zella leggings! I have several and keep going back to them instead of Lulu. Can’t wait to try the jeans and vacuum. It is on the list for the first appliance purchase for 2021!     Last year you would have never caught me wearing joggers out of the house but this year….I live in them. Same with sneakers. Amazing what a pandemic can do to your style sense. Love the Wit and Wisdom jeans so comfy, when I’m not wearing joggers. LOL. Happy 2021 Sheaffer?

    I have purchased, at your recommendation, the blanket SO MANY TIMES now as a gift and each and every time it is a huge hit! I even had some as “spare gifts”, a friend was here, loved the blanket, and was able to gift her one, making my heart so happy! It’s the best!

    I absolutely love your reviews and always appreciate you putting in sizing information! I finally got the boyfriend shorts and love them! I found out I was pregnant so couldn’t wear them too much this summer but I cannot wait to buy some wit and wisdom jeans postpartum since I love the shorts your recommended so much! And the face mask is my absolute favorite with having glasses they’re the only ones that don’t fog them up.

    Been out of town with no wifi so just catching up on my blogs! I love the year in review. I think I own at least half of these…all because you told me to! ;). The Zella joggers just went with me on a 13 hour car ride and I could not have been more comfortable! They don’t get too hot like some leggings do and still looked great at the end of the drive…no baggy knees here! I agree they are more charcoal gray than black but I love them! I’m not very adventures with color on the bottom but they are so great I’m considering another color! Thanks for the tip!
