What to Wear on July 4th! Let’s Get FESTIVE!

Happy Friday, Ladies!

Well, we are a couple of weeks into summer vacation now, and I can hardly believe it.  July 4th is just around the corner (at only 12 days away) and I’ve got red, white, and blue on the brain.

Today I’ve partnered up with Nordstrom and I have TONS of festive outfit inspiration for y’all.  As evidenced by the requests I’ve been receiving lately, everybody wants to be FESTIVE FOR THE 4th…so I searched high and low for great clothes, shoes, and accessories so I could share ten different Fourth of July outfit ideas!

I even bought red lipstick for the occasion!  (Girls, this is the very first red lipstick I’ve ever bought, but I thought all of these outfits deserved a red lip.  The red recommended to me by the make up artist is supposed to be great on all skin tones, and it’s called “Ruby Woo“.)

FOURTH OF JULY OUTFIT IDEA #1

I have this tie front tee in both a solid red and a navy stripe, so I’m obviously a fan.  And I thought this powder blue would be perfect for the 4th too!  For size reference, I sized down to an x-small in the tee, and there’s still plenty of room.  You can pull it down to wear it more tunic style with jeans, or you can blouse it up around your waist like I’m wearing here.

The shorts pictured are my favorite denim shorts, and you’ll be seeing them in many of today’s outfits.  I’m wearing my regular 27s for a relaxed fit, but size down if you prefer more of a fitted look or if between sizes.

The red chunky studs, red necklace, and red tote (ON SALE for just under $20!) will also be seen throughout today’s post.  They make any white or blue outfit suddenly all sorts of festive!  Speaking of festive, let’s talk about the sunglasses.

I wouldn’t typically wear white studded sunglasses, but the 4th offers the perfect occasion.  I thought they were a fun addition to my outfits for just $14, and they also come in a punchy red!

FOURTH OF JULY OUTFIT IDEA #2

For variety, I wanted this post to be a mix of “real” photographs of me, flat lays, and selfies.  So I first put this outfit together in a flat lay.  GIRLS.  I’m dying over my new rose gold slides.  DYING.

But then the flat lay was so dang cute, I had to try it on for myself.  🙂  I’m in love with all of it.

The top is ONLY $45, and I love the bright color and off the shoulder styling.  It’s a gauzy material which makes it stretchy with some give, so it’s perfect for a hot summer day.

And don’t forget the best strapless bra ever!  If you’re new here, this strapless is incredibly comfy.  Sometimes I wear it when a strapless isn’t even required, and I don’t rip it off at the end of the day.  #itreallyisthatgood

The clutch is fabulous.  It’s more of a cream than a white, but I still thought it paired well with a couple of my outfits today.  It’s a great size, and the raffia is so summery and fun.

And y’all.  The rose gold slides are one of my new favorite items in my closet.  I really like the thick bands and the criss-cross styling.  The rose gold immediately caught my eye (looks great with a tan), although there are several different colorways available.  I also love the black and white tribal option.  Size up a 1/2 size in these slides, or they will be too short.

FOURTH OF JULY OUTFIT IDEA #3

Want a super affordable option?  How about this $15 navy and white striped tee!?! FIFTEEN DOLLARS! It’s cut a little wide, but if you do a half tuck, you’ll love it.  It also comes in a solid red, a solid white, and a thin black and white stripe.  It’s super comfy and soft, and since it’s over-sized, it can hang off the shoulder if you would like it too!

And don’t forget, you need the lipstick in Ruby Woo!  It’s a great red, and I feel like it makes your teeth look whiter.

These red patent sandals are great all year round, but you’ll see them in several of my outfits today because they are obviously perfect for the 4th.  This is the one outfit today where I’m wearing white shorts, but lots of today’s outfit would work with white shorts as well.

FOURTH OF JULY OUTFIT IDEA #4

This outfit has the same red earrings, necklace, tote, and sandals.   I just mixed up the top and went back to my favorite denim.  I was drawn to the cold shoulder sleeves with the cute little ties, the stripes, and the navy neckline.  This top does run on the large size, but I’m wearing my regular size small here.  I do think I might prefer to size down.

Look how darling the shoulders are!  This is a great top for ladies who don’t love baring their arms all the way, but don’t mind giving a little peek.  🙂

FOURTH OF JULY OUTFIT IDEA #5

You saw this top on me earlier this week, and lots of you were loving it.  Even though the embroidery is more on the pink side, when paired with red accessories, you could totally be ready for a July 4th party.

I love this short red necklace.  The stone, the chain, and the casing are all a really pretty vibrant red which really helps the necklace to stand out.  The piece is delicate, but it really makes a statement.  Same goes with the earrings.  The stones and the prongs are both red on these chunky studs.

FOURTH OF JULY OUTFIT IDEA #6

I switched to a pair of higher waist denim shorts with a lighter wash and a frayed hem for this outfit.  And I found a super fun white necklace that I thought looked a bit like fireworks!

Guess who took these pics?!?  That’s right, the little man!  If you look, you can see his reflection in the sunglasses!

The red flutter sleeve tee is a really soft knit (very comfy) with darling little fluttery sleeves that really elevate the look of the tee.  For size reference, I’m wearing my regular small, but several reviewers suggested sizing down.  It does run a bit long, which should be perfect for those of you with longer torsos.  The longer length doesn’t bother me, and it just makes it easy to do a half tuck.

It comes in several colors, including a plain white as well as a  navy striped option that would both be a perfect choice for the 4th as well.

The frayed hem denim shorts are stretchy, comfy, and true to size.  They are a lighter wash than my favorites, but I really like the change.

I mean, I’m festive from head to toe in this get up!

I ordered this tee with this post in mind a couple of weeks ago, but it just came in yesterday!  When I saw that it was NOW ON SALE (33% OFF!), I knew I had to throw it on for a picture!  It’s super soft, it’s a red white and blue stripe, and the sleeves make it interesting!  I’m wearing a small, which is true to size for me.

This last outfit features my must have denim jacket with a cherry red version of the body conscious dress I’ve featured before (click HERE to see the dress on me in 3 other colors).  I sized up to a medium in the dress, and I’m wearing a medium in the jacket as well.  This dress really is a show stopper!
