The Bachelorette Fantasy Suites: Where 1 Man Did NOT Go All The Way #punverymuchintended

Did you see last week?  Last week was hometown dates, and I was A WRECK the entire show.  All 4 guys (Jason, Garrett, Blake, and Colton) seemed to be genuinely nice guys, and all 4 of their families seemed nice AND NORMAL.   And let’s be honest, NORMAL FAMILIES are a departure from year’s past.  I mean, not even one whackadoodle in the bunch.  This made for a very different Hometown vibe, and I might as well be honest, I missed the crazy.  Instead, we got 4 mamas who were all worried about their boys.  And as a boy mama, I COULD IDENTIFY.

I’d like to make a plea to BRING BACK A WHACKADOODLE or 2 for the next round of hometowns.  #FORTHELOVE #imlookingatyoudeansdad

Okay, LET’S GET STARTED WITH THIS WEEK’S RECAP!

The Bachelorette Fantasy Suites

This week we are in Thailand for Fantasy Suite dates!  And y’all.  We started out the episode with quite the admission:  Becca telling us that she is “in love with 2 men…and falling in love with a 3rd.”  I MEAN.

She went on to say that she is in love with Garrett, that her connection with Jason is off the charts and that she’s falling in love with him, and that she’s 100% herself and in love with Blake.  And my heart sank, because Jason was my favorite.

BLAKE

Blake got the first run and jump in Thailand, and Becca got a running start and caught some serious air.  She was full on straddling him in her Zellas.  #goodcall #zellaforlife

Blake “couldn’t wait to touch and kiss her”.

But guess what Blake, y’all are going on a hike on sacred ground, and once you pass a certain mark on your hiking trails, you aren’t allowed to even touch.  So, in the interest of being respectful, they mugged down before they reached the sacred point.  It just made good sense, you know?

After the hike they spent some time with some Monks.  One of the Monks shared some wisdom about relationships and talked about the importance of honesty, acceptance and compromise, patience, and giving.  I wish the Monk would have also shared with Blake that vacuuming and emptying the dishwasher are also close to holiness.  Because I’m telling you, THEY ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT as HONESTY, ACCEPTANCE, etc.  Am I right, ladies?

So here’s what you need to know. BLAKE WAS ON THE STRUGGLE BUS.  He knows he loves Becca, and he thinks Becca loves him too, but he couldn’t get the idea out of his head that she might feel that way about another guy as well.  YOU SMART, BLAKE.  He couldn’t stop thinking about how she might be acting with the other guys…especially in the fantasy suites.

That night they walked to dinner in the rain.  And Becca was dressed as Marilyn Monroe.  Blake shared with her again how terrible the heartbreak was with his other break up, and that he is more in love with her than he was with the previous girl.  #NOPRESSUREBECCA

She explained to him that she knew exactly how he was feeling, because it was exactly how she felt with Arie.  He was basically looking for reassurance from her that she wasn’t in love with more than 1 guy.  And she couldn’t give it to him.  She somehow eased his fears a bit, but she in no way said that she was only in love with 1 guy.  And she still hadn’t said “I love you” back to him.

She did ask him if he would be scared to commit to her in a week and a half.  And he basically said HECK NO.

She offered him the fantasy suite date card, and he accepted.  #duh  He was basically all “Check, please!”. The boy was giddy with excitement.

From the look of the key, they were either going to be staying in a middle schooler’s diary or a jewelry box with a tiny little ballerina on top.

Come on ABC, let’s just be real and tape a card key to the invite.

They woke up the next morning in each other’s arms (and full make up) and Becca explained to the cameras that morning that she felt “even more in love with him”.  And Blake told Becca “I don’t want this to be the last morning I’m waking up with you.” Blake was not in a good place.  He was incredibly nervous, and let’s be honest, it was with good reason.  But him not having a shirt on made it all better.  #ormaybethatwasjustme

JASON

So let’s get this out there.  Jason is my favorite.  And since it’s obvious that Jason is in 3rd place, before the date even started, I was already a wreck for Jason AND HIS MAMA.

And you know how I knew he was going to be the one going home within the first 2 seconds of the date?  EASY.  Becca kept her feet planted firmly on the ground.  #nostraddle #nolikey

They strolled the streets, ate some crickets (I laughed out loud when Jason asked “Do we put sauce on that?”), and just explored the city together.

He didn’t doubt his feelings for Becca at all, but she was definitely doubting hers for him. As they were walking out of a temple, she said “How do we get a house like this?”, and then her demeanor immediately changed. She explained to the camera how right after she said it she wanted to take it back.  She asked for a moment because she said she just felt weird and she was visibly really upset.  She told the producer that she just didn’t know if she could picture a future with him.

And all the while, my sweet little Jason was just sitting by himself on some steps, pondering his life and future.

We didn’t get to see how the day date ended, and we skipped to their dinner that night.  I was surprised to hear from Jason that night that he was feeling good about where things were with them.  MAMA!!!  HELP!

They sat down at dinner and Jason let Becca know that his family had given him their full stamp of approval.  He continued on about how he had told his family how much he loved her, and Becca looked like she was going to hurl.  I felt badly for Jason, but I felt badly for her too.

She started to share with him how when she thinks about the future with him, something feels a little bit off.  And then she asked to be excused.  She walked around the grounds trying to get herself together, but she came to the conclusion that it’s not fair to keep Jason around when she’s in love with two other men.

MAMA!!!!!!!!!!!  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

When she returned to the table, she explained that she just didn’t see how she would get there with Jason, so she didn’t want to lead him on by taking him to the fantasy suite.  Jason told her that he didn’t want to be let go if she saw ANY potential with him.  He wanted them to still have a chance, but Becca just didn’t think it would happen and lovingly told him so

Jason said, “I came in to this thing rooting for your happiness, and I’ll leave rooting for your happiness.”

Y’ALL.

PEOPLE!!!

Jason is clearly TOP NOTCH HUBBY MATERIAL.  Dale did a fine job raising this young man.  Plus, Becca herself has said that he was the best kisser of the punch.  WHAT IN THE WORLD is she doing getting rid of him before fantasy suites.  GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME, BECCA.

DEAR ABC, Please cast Jason as our next Bachelor.  If it’s not him or Peter, I quit.  Consider yourself warned.  xoxo, Sheaffer

And then she walked him out.

Whahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!  MAMA!!!!

When he got in the rejection van, he said “I’m just really shocked right now.”

Me too, Jason.  Me too.

Becca, you just sent home a National Treasure.  America is shaking our dang heads.

GARRETT

Well, she straddled Garrett, so things were already looking up for love.

They paddled down the river together on a bamboo raft.  It started out as a romantic little journey…..but y’all, it was a national Thai holiday.  And everybody from Thailand was on the river.  And the elephants were apparently on holiday too.

The bamboo raft ride would have given me an anxiety attack, but Becca handled it in stride.

The date didn’t make me want to go to Thailand, but it did make me want to grab a pair of turquoise studs. (I also really love this assorted 3 pack!)  #butidigress

They headed to dinner, and although I typically am totally on board with Becca’s outfits, I was unsure about her lace frock.  But again, her earring game was on point, and she made me want to order some ear crawlers too.

Garrett shared that he had seriously cold feet before he went on the show, but as soon as he saw her, his fears were put at ease.  But then the fear started to grow again as his feelings for her started to grow.  He’s scared to death of an engagement and marriage not working out again, and he let Becca know that.

She asked Garrett how he sees their future if he were to be the last man standing.  He explained how his job has flexibility, and he would be willing to move if it “supported her dreams and goals”.  He then said, “I truly do love you.  And I hope your the last woman I ever say that to.”  So sweet.

He accepted the fantasy suite, and headed up to retire to their tree house.  I’d be all, this is cool and all…but is there a Hampton Inn nearby?

They woke up the next morning and looked incredibly happy.  And the headboard looked like it was broken.  #justanobservation

And then she did the walk of shame in the rain from her Thai treehouse. Carrying her red Longchamp tote.

HE RETURNED

Then something unexpected happened.  MY GUY SHOWED BACK UP.  Jason declared “I love her, and I’m not ready to let her go!”

He knocked on her door, and she answered with an “Oh my gosh.”  They hugged and then headed into her hotel suite.  Jason said he “just couldn’t leave Thailand, given how quickly…..”  And then he couldn’t finish his thought.  He had to stop himself.  He was too emotional to continue.

MOMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

He then told her that his love for her was so genuine and that she “gave him a lot”.  Y’all.  He could not talk without his voice trembling and voice cracking.  Becca confided in him that it wasn’t an easy decision and that she did feel terrible.  She said “You are one of the best guy’s I’ve ever met, and I never want you to doubt that.”

He left her with a scrapook/journal of their time together, and she genuinely cried when flipping through the pages he made for her.  And I’ll go ahead and admit it.  I got teary.  But I do have something I’d like to throw out there.  Has anybody NOT IN BACHELOR WORLD had their guy make them a full fledged scrap book?

When Becca showed him out, Jason said “stay in touch” and “talk to you soon” as he was walking out the door.   I’m thinking that at that moment, Jason must have been a wee bit confused about the break up and what that meant.  In simple termns, it means that they WILL NOT stay in touch or talk to each other soon.

THE ROSE CEREMONY

So, it was time for the rose ceremony.   Becca showed up and had a quick talk with Harrison.  She said that not only had both guys told her that they were in love with her, but she was also in love with both guys.  She just hadn’t told either of them yet.

She walked up to the guys and mentioned how Jason had obviously left already.

And the remaining two both got roses.
