As soon as the episode started on Monday night, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt it was going to be crazy.
You know how I knew?
Because Barb broke out a strapless tube top and white jeans.
AND THAT IS CRAZY.
I mean, WHOAH.
It was a bold choice.
A bold choice that I did not see coming.
Which was just the first of several Barb related things I DID NOT SEE COMING.
IMPORTANT: Let me say right now that I wrote this recap before I watched Tuesday’s episode. But now that I’ve watched Tuesday, BARB IS DEAD TO ME NOW. I mean, I did not enjoy her on Monday night’s episode, BUT TUESDAY NIGHT DID ME IN. So if I say anything even remotely nice about Barb in this recap, PLEASE DISREGARD.
All right, let’s start!
Before either girl got to meet the family, Peter sat down with them for a bit to brief them on who is final 2 ladies were. And right off the bat, Peter shared with his parents how Madi had told him that if he slept with the other women that she didn’t know if she’d be able to move on.
Seems like an odd choice when trying to introduce a girl to your family, but okay.
And let me again state that that Madi’s request SEEMS REASONABLE TO ME.
We’re talking 1o business days, people. 10 business days for Peter to abstain. TEN DAYS.
But his parents were actually super concerned about this.
Like realllllllllllllllly troubled and terribly concerned. They couldn’t imagine why anybody wouldn’t want to wiggle with their son. Barb was like BUD, this troubles me greatly.
It was more than weird.
I had trouble understanding why they were so invested in their son’s sexual experiences? It’s creepy, right?
I mean, It was clear that this family places a really high importance on the big wiggle and isn’t afraid to talk about it. Which if we’re being honest, totally oogied me out. If you think back, Barb applauded with enthusiasm at After the Final Rose when she found out about the windmill shenanigans (4 TIMES, MOM!…WAY TO GO, BUD!), but she was actually concerned and visibly upset by the fact that Madi wanted to honor her faith and save herself for her husband? I MEAN, COME ON BARB.
Cut to Harrison back in a candle lit studio audience, where he was really enjoying his role as Master of Ceremonies. He taunted us time and time again that none of us had any idea how this season was going to end, and he even went further to say that PETER DIDN’T EVEN KNOW.
Whatever, Harrison.
This was me.
HANNAH ANN MEETS THE FAMILY
Hannah Ann met the family (looking darling in an appropriate sundress) and within 23 seconds was spewing her love for Peter all over the place. She even said she was “proud to be a part of him”. Huh?
But Peter apparently ate it up because he was hanging all over her. Like an awkward middle schooler at his first school dance. It was weird. Especially when he used his nose to nuzzle her shoulder.
The entire time spent with his family, Hannah Ann was teary and constantly talking about her love for Peter and how proud she was of him. She spent individual time with everybody, and they all loved her.
MADI AND PETER HAVE A SERIOUS CONVERSATION WHILE TOUCHING FOREHEADS
Before Madi even got out of the car, the way Peter was talking about her to the camera made me realize that he loved her sooooooooooooo much more than he loved Hannah Ann.
But when Madi got out of the car, she wasn’t doing well AT ALL. The girl was spiraling.
She shared with him that she had been totally ready to get engaged to him UNTIL she found out that he had wiggled with the 2 other women. She said “I feel like you put your feelings, your needs, and your wants above mine.” She felt that way because he did. TEN BUSINESS DAYS, PETER.
They of course had this serious conversation while touching foreheads. Because can you have this conversation any other way? No. The answer is no.
Peter looked like he had been punched straight in the gut, and he wanted to deflect from the real issues.
He even tried to take the focus off of the wiggling and switched the blame to her because she hadn’t shared with him how she felt.
But Madi would have none of it.
THE GIRL WAS HOLDING HER GROUND.
SHE WAS FIRM, BUT LOVING.
I was totally cheering her on!
She was like “Of course your actions with other women affect our relationship.”
He tried to empathize with her and told her that he had been in her exact shoes.
And I was like UM. Except your shoes were on the floor in a windmill when you were doing it 4 times. Soooooooooooooo, that’s not exactly the same.
She admitted to him that she was hanging on by a thread. Peter told her that he wanted to get through this, but she just didn’t know how she would.
Madi said, “Love isn’t the issue here. Love is not the problem.”
And then Peter said, “The issue isssssssss?”
PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETERRRRRRRRRRRRRR! DO YOU REALLY NOT KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS????
You wiggled with two other girls. When she specifically told you she might not be able to get over it if you did. Right before you were planning on proposing to her.
Madi ended up telling Peter that she knew she loved him the day they had climbed to the top of that building together, and the boy lit up. He obviously loves her too.
MADI MEETS THE FAMILY
As soon as they walked in, I noticed that Barb was wearing her “Don’t let her go” outfit…so I knew we were getting close folks.
Madi’s and Peter’s hineys had barely hit the sofa when Peter mentioned they had been talking outside because their relationship had hit a road block. Peter’s dad straight up asked “What exactly was the road block?” So even though they met 74 seconds ago, Madi suddenly found herself explaining to them how she was waiting until marriage and how she had shared with Peter that she would have a problem if he decided to sleep with the other girls in the 10 BUSINESS DAYS before he proposed to her.
And then she said “It hasn’t been easy, but I love him.” It was very sweet and genuine.
And the parents had disapproval written all over their faces. Seriously, look how concerned they are. I do not enjoy either of them.
They were basically like WHY HAVEN’T YOU WIGGLED WITH MY SON?????
Madi met with the dad and he asked her how compatible they were.
She shared how important her faith is to her, and how she has really clung to the fact that Peter said that he wanted his faith to grow. And y’all can call me crazy, but I’m actually on Team Madi and Peter right now. I think they love each other, and I do think that Peter seems genuinely interested in becoming the man that Madi needs him to be. Some men just need a woman to have high standards for them, and then they can rise to those standards.
Peter sat down with his brother, and their conversation of course centered around intimacy. The brother said “Obviously you are very physical in relationships.”
YES. WE ARE AWARE.
The brother then started going on and on asking lots of questions. Questions like, “Can you go to church and then go line dancing afterwards?” He also made statements like “she is really into the ministry.” Which alone shows that their family has not been “really into the ministry.” Listen Jack….she’s a Christian and her faith is a large part of her life…DEAL WITH IT.
The brother then begged Peter to not compromise any level of himself.
Like, PLEASE DON’T GIVE UP LINE DANCING PETER. WE KNOW HOW MUCH YOU LOVE LINE DANCING.
The brother then asked Peter if he would compromise himself.
And Peter got defensive and was like “That’s what relationships are, and that’s what relationships are about.”
Okay, Peter. Keep going in this direction, because you are right!
And then it was time for Madi and Barb. By the time their conversation was over I was in love with Madi and sooooooooooo proud of her. She was so respectful and well spoken, although I do think this look kind of said it all. She COULD NOT BELIEVE Barb.
I thought Barb needed a good stern talking to. What was all this righteous indignation she had on Peter’s behalf? Why was she so deeply affected by the fact that Madi didn’t want to wiggle with her son? She disappointed me greatly. I thought her behavior was shameful.
So, Barb immediately started sharing that Peter is spiritual like she is, but not really religious. She went on to say, “And I don’t want anyone to change him. We love him the way he is.” She shared that she respected Madi for her values, but to tell someone else to change wasn’t fair. Which seems like an okay message, but I assure you it was not. Her delivery was terrible.
Barb had NO RESPECT for Madi during their entire conversation. And we all got a tiny little peek into what Thanksgiving and Christmas would be like with Barb as a mother in law.
NO THANK YOU.
Madi said “I’m not going to apologize or be ashamed, I was just being open and honest.” She explained that she was not giving him an ultimatum, just sharing with him how she felt. She talked to Barb with respect, even though Barb did nothing to deserve that respect.
Y’all, I was so proud of Madi.
And Barb, don’t point your finger at me.
BARB WAS NOT HAVING IT.
AND I WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OVER BARB. I was over the whole family really.
Madi told the camera that the family conversations made her realize that she and Peter were on different pages. Which they are. But I’m telling you, something was changing in me, and I was thinking that Peter possibly had it in him to do what he needed to do to deserve Madi’s love!
BRING HER HOOOOOOOOOOOOOME TO US
Madi left, Peter walked back into the house, and BARB LOST IT.
She was bawling her head off.
SCRATCH THAT.
She was acting like she was bawling her head….BUT NARY A TEAR ACTUALLY APPEARED.
It was gross.
Barb is stupid.
And manipulative.
I mean, sure…she wiped away “tears”. But I’m telling you, there were no real tears.
Peter was like “Why are you crying?”
Barb said “She’s not there for you.”
And if you didn’t think the fake bawling was weird enough, things are about to get really crazy.
Barb….the same woman who about 2 minutes ago told Madi that she wasn’t very religious, looked at Peter and said “I said a prayer for you last night.”
Wait. WHAT?
I’m DONE.
D
O
N
E
She went on and on about how she had prayed, how God had answered her prayer, and how God had placed Hannah Ann in his life and that “she’s a real gem….an angel on earth.”
Yep, she prayed to God that He would send Peter the perfect girl. But she didn’t think it was God fearing Madi.
She had just basically shamed Madi for her faith, and immediately after, she was using God to try to manipulate her son.
WAS THIS LADY FOR REAL?
AND ANOTHER THING…QUIT CALLING HIM BUD!
He said again how much he loved Madi, and the entire family was like yeah, but she doesn’t wiggle.
Peter is like “I can see past this. But y’all have to trust me.”
But I’m telling you, the family CANNOT GET OVER IT.
Again, that’s oogie.
This is basically what went down.
And then Barb started “crying” again. And she doubled down, and wiped away said fake tears. Again.
Nobody is buying your act, Barb. However, we are starting to understand why Peter kept Victoria F. around for so long.
And then ladies and gentleman….what we’ve been waiting for all season….she begged Peter to BRING HER HOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMME TO US. Who was HER? Hannah Ann.
Barb said, “We will welcome her with open arms, with all the love in the world. She’s a dream come true and God has placed her there for you.”
I tell ya, she’s a real piece of work.
She went on and on about how she believes that God has chosen Hannah Ann for him, above Madi who wants him to grow in his relationship with God. I mean, THAT’S RICH BARB.
I have to say, I had not imagined that the bring her home to us bit was about Hannah Ann.
Peter (looking hella annoyed at his mama) straight up said “You’ve gotta stop doing this.”
And I wanted to stand up and give Peter the slow clap.
He followed it with “This is insane.”
PETER!!!!!!!
YES!
THIS IS IN FACT INSANE!
I absolutely LOVE that he shut Barb down!
Because Barb, you really do have to stop this.
You’re being RIDICULOUS. And a faker.
Madi, listen to me now. This is muy importante.
I don’t care that you love Peter.
DO YOU REALLY WANT THIS WOMAN AS A MOTHER IN LAW?
LAST DATE WITH MADI
They hopped in a helicopter to see the sites, and there was a voice over of Madi explaining how she now finally saw how they are just very different people. And how she realized that it was now time to surrender.
She said, “As much as we want this, I don’t know if we can give each other what we need.”
MY GOSH HER PARENTS MUST BE PROUD.
She continued with, “I’m willing to walk away so you can get what you came here to find.”
Peter asked, “Why don’t you think you’re that person?”
Madi should have made a long list that started and ended with Barb. But instead, she said “We just see things so differently. There’s always going to be this level of misunderstanding. When it comes to marriage, when it comes to faith, when it comes to lifestyle….it’s all different. I don’t know that we are the best for each other.”
This girl is wise beyond her years.
Peter was absolutely heartbroken.
And I don’t know if he knew it yet, but Barb was 100% responsible for Madi’s change in direction.
He tried everything he could to make Madi believe that they could work together, but Madi just didn’t believe it. During their entire conversation she was being incredibly sweet and respectful. I really believed that she loved Peter, but she also just thought they had too many obstacles to get past.
He walked her to the car and she left.
In summary, they definitely had big differences in thoughts on marriage and religion. However, it really seemed to me like Peter really loved her and was willing to make some changes. And not just willing, it seemed to me like he was excited to make those changes for the woman he loved. Like he said to his brother, that’s what relationships are about!
But let’s be honest, the real winner here is the girl that doesn’t end up with Barb as a mother in law.
Can you even imagine?
PETER’S CONVERSATION WITH HARRISON
The next morning, Peter was still broken-hearted that Madi had left. He met with Harrison to talk it out. Peter said, “I’m mourning this relationship right now, but I also know that I’m in love with Hannah Ann.”
I’m just not sure if I believed him. It really seemed to me that he was talking himself in to loving Hannah Ann simply because he knew that she loved him.
Harrison said, “Can you get over this heartbreak, or is it over?”
Peter just didn’t know.
LAST DATE WITH HANNAH ANN
Y’all.
Her outfit.
It’s like she swung by 5-7-9 on her way to their desert date.
The girl loves her wedge sneakers, but she didn’t think the mini skirt through.
They were picked up in a vehicle that looked like that we were going to head to Jurassic Park, but instead, they went to swaddle baby kangaroos. It was actually pretty adorable.
And then guess what, y’all.
It hadn’t even been 24 hours since Madi broke his heart, but Peter was suddenly ALL IN with Hannah Ann. Well, I take that back. He was kinda all in. #takeaminutetoprocessthat
But Hannah Ann was skeptical. She said that she knew something was off when looking in his eyes.
WOW. The girl was way more intuitive than I gave her credit for.
That night, in a last ditch effort to win his full heart, Hannah Ann broke out her best body con dress. Peter showed up in a Merona hoodie. I felt it was very symbolic of their feelings.
They sat on the couch and Peter told her that his heart was being pulled in 2 different directions, he just neglected to tell her that Madi had already left, and yet his heart was still being pulled in 2 different directions. Which is kinda important.
And that was it for Part 1 of the finale.
WHAT DO Y’ALL THINK?
WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?
DID Y’ALL DISLIKE BARB AS MUCH AS I DID?
Because JUST WAIT.
Make sure you come back tomorrow for the real train wreck.

Terri Johnson says
I laughed my way through this. I’ve never even seen the show but your descriptions were hilarious!
Sheaffer says
Thank you so much, Terri!
Amy says
Loved this so much! Are you going to do a final recap of the Tuesday night show as well?
Sheaffer says
I’m going to try to. About to start it right now!
Virginia says
We neeeeeeeed it. I am dying to know your thoughts on Hannah Ann’s speech and also Madi’s potential change of heart and also Chris Harrison’s shameful manipulation of Madi by giving her wildly incomplete information. And the Barb cam.
Kathryn says
This recap is so fantastic! You and I are on the same wavelength. When I heard his brother ask about line dancing, I had to ask my 23 year old daughter if that meant something else other than line dancing! I never thought of line dancing as risky behavior! I cannot wait to read tomorrow’s!
Stephanie L Cassidy says
Barb was hideous, RUN MADI RUN! The family is way too involved, the RED flags are flying high.
Michelle says
Dying over the 5-7-9 comment!
Sarah says
Ahh! I don’t watch the show but LOVE your recaps, now I’m on the edge of my seat for tomorrow’s….
Therese says
OMG, Barb is just too much. Your recaps, as always, are funny and delightful without being mean spirited. Barb could use a lesson!
Gina says
Love your recaps! Cannot wait until your final one. Barb is too much!
Tami from SD says
Oh my gosh, you nailed it on this recap. Peter’s mother is psychotic and a total drama queen. I think she’s watched too much Bachelor and wants to be like the 23 year old girls. On the other hand, Madi is wise and caring beyond her years, and I’m not sure Peter is good enough for her. But as you say, maybe he wants to become the man she needs him to be.
Kelly says
Oh the whole thing was just completely weird, awkward, and so disappointing! And last night was even worse! Loved the recap though? and good Lord I pray my girls never have a MIL like Barb.
Anna says
OMG.. this was SO GOOD. As always, you said ALL of the things I was thinking.. except I honestly had not thought about the correlation between him being crazy about Vicky and his psycho mom… BUT YES! It all makes sense now. I honestly don’t have anymore words to add about the whole Barb scenario. I just CANNOT with her. She is a real loon!
Michelle says
LOL is all I can say, no I can also say you are spot on! Just started last nights episode and I know Peter must not end up with Hanna Ann just by looking at Barb’s expressions in the first 15 minutes!!!
Teresa says
I’ve never watched a single episode until Monday night, when I caught the last 45 minutes. I got pulled in this season by Madi–she’s all over my Auburn social media (War Eagle!), and OMG–you are spot on with the winner being whomever does not end up with Barb as a mother-in-law. So inappropriate. Madi’s parents on the other hand, should be so, so proud of the way she has handled herself.
Kara says
Love Love Love this recap! Can’t wait to read your feelings about Barb at the ATFR. Thank you for taking time to do this post!
Jan Fisher says
omg…I can’t with Barb. I agree, the winner is the girl that DOESN’T have her as a mother-in-law…what a train wreck!
Madi’s parents should be very proud of her indeed! I feel so bad for Hannah Ann, it’s obvious he is “settling” with her….UGH!
Thanks for your hilarious recap! I love it!
Caroline says
Thank you for doing these; they make me so happy. I would seriously have paid your mortgage payment this month (and brought queso) to watch last night’s episode with you. Can’t wait to see what you say tomorrow!
Brandye says
No. I most definitely would NOT want Barb for a mother-in-law. What is wrong with his family? Why are they so concerned with Peter’s sex life? I mean, beyond providing grandchildren at some point AFTER he is married? Thank you for your recaps! I know they are hard to put together, but you do the BEST job at these.
Michelle says
You seriously give the BEST recaps! Of course, I am writing this comment after we’ve seen the final episode but wow, just wow! Barb is officially the villain of the season. Everything makes sense now…this is exactly why Peter got so caught up in the drama. He has lived with it his whole life! Hannah Ann, you dodged that bullet because if you married the guy and didn’t stay on Barb’s good side, look what you could be dealing with… I have to say, both girls handled every situation with class and grace. Much more class than “someone” twice their age! I wish them all the best…I hate to say it because I have loved Peter all along but I think both girls could definitely do better. He’s a mess…
Kathy says
You are the best and extremely funny. I know you don’t like to read, but please write a chic lit book. Best seller for sure. Your recaps perfectly state what we all think. Barb is a nutcase and for all of us with children, an example of what not to do as a MIL. The good thing, this WAS the most dramatic final episode. The entire family is creepy and I’d say they have bodies in the basement but that’s where their grown ass kids live.
Jana says
Your recaps are seriously so funny and on point! I love reading them and agree 100% on this one!
Susan says
Great recap — so funny!! I agree with everything you said! I think Peter and Madi could have worked (definitely had he not had the FS debacle –10 business days! haha!) — but I think if Peter communicated better and stood up for her more to his family, he could have won Madi’s forgiveness, and Peter genuinely seemed like he wanted to change for the better. In light of Tuesday’s episode, though…
Debbra Weber says
Every time Barb opened her mouth and pulled the fake cry, I seriously thought about and looked forward to hearing what you were going to say about it. I am so with you on Barb!! All moms out there need to take this Barb person as a prime example of what not to do as a mother. I love Madi and everything she stands for!!
Amy McCarthy says
I was looking forward to reading your recap and I knew you and I would see eye to eye. This was my Facebook post from Monday night:
Peter’s mom: I prayed that God would put the right girl in your path!
Also Peter’s mom: How could you even consider choosing a girl who loves Jesus and might ask you not to sleep around and party?!?
Does this strike anyone else as odd? Just me…?
M says
SO odd! Bipolar Barb?
Gina Mitchell says
We should send Peter the book, Boundaries. Poor guy. Barb needs a copy too.
Keisha Dawson says
Thank you so much for these recaps! I haven’t been able to watch this season, and these recaps are AMAZING!
Melissa says
I can’t wait for tomorrow!
Can I ask what is up with Madi’s mouth? She is always sucking on her lips, and running her tongue over her teeth?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Melissa! I’m thinking it’s probably just a nervous habit!
JoAnn says
All I kept saying to my husband during the finale was “ohhh I can’t wait to read Sheaffer’s blog!!!!” Haha!! And I am not a fan of any of Hannah Ann’s fashion choices either!
Cheryl says
Also, the “red center of Australia” is the WORST! All those flies swarming them on their teeny-tiny blanket square on the red dirt ground? Surrounded by gosh-knows-what kind of reptiles??? No thanks.
Kasey says
You always call it just as I see it- in the most hilarious ways! The merona hoodie has me cracking up. Also- the winner truly is whoever does not have Barb as her MIL. Well said.
Lauren says
Oh my word…. I’m sitting in a Starbucks in tears from laughing at your commentary I wish I had the opportunity to watch with you every Monday! Hah! You said everything I was thinking. Goodbye barb!!!!
Christy says
I NEVER comment, but I just can’t stand around this time. MOM IS CRA CRA. Part 2 showed a very disrespectful lady. I just don’t know how Maddie can put up with her. Even Peter was begging her to chill out last night on LIVE TV. Mom’s body language last night was unbelievable.
Rebecca Jo Vincent says
I honestly had to take an hour after the show went off last night to calm down & ask God to forgive me for all the words & wishes I put out on Barb last night… THAT WOMAN IS INSANE!!!…. the whole Weber family needs counseling.
I need to see Madison’s dad have a conversation with this nut job mom
Laura says
OH. MY. WORD.
So Many Things to say. It is NOT unreasonable to expect your soon fiance to not be wiggling with other people for oh… 3 months before he proposes…unless you’re both polygamists. Then I guess it’d be okay…and EXPECTED.
Also, as a mother to four teenagers, we talk about the big wiggle all the time. Not one’s specific experiences, YET. But, I assure anyone, if they ever want to talk about it in that way, I’ll listen.
Kathy says
Love your recaps! No wonder Peter is attracted to the drama with a mother like Barbara–he’s been surrounded by it his whole life. Madison handled herself so beautifully all season, especially when dealing with villain Barb. The eye-rolling and the hateful things that came out of Barbara’s mouth during Tuesday night’s episode were just astounding. I would be horribly ashamed to have a parent that behaved like that. Peter needs to stop making excuses for their behavior (it all comes from love) and tell them to ‘butt out’. Apparently Barbara has forgotten how much she loved Madison the first time she met her when Peter brought her on a date to their wedding vow renewal ceremony!
Ellie says
AMEN, Kathy!!! You are spot on!!
Barb appears to be a controlling, manipulative woman who speaks out of both sides of her mouth!! Run, ladies!! And, Peter…seek counseling!! You’re young enough to learn how to have a healthy relationship!! I applaud you for speaking up on Tuesday night…you will need to do that more often to protect future relationships!
Kathy says
I literally yelled at my tv when Peter said Barb did it “out of love”. Love for her own selfish reasons perhaps. As a parent, I would not deliberately do something to my child to hurt them or make their life difficult let alone embarrass them on national tv (or clap when Hannah Ann basically told him he was a piece of crap). I don’t see love but I do see a selfish, self centered mother. Sad.
Lisa Richardson says
I’m nominating Babs for the next Monster-In-Law role. I’ve never seen a woman with so much disdain, and what the crap??? I’ve never seen a family so invested in their sons sex life. CREEEEPY!!!! Babs broke every possible rule for a future MIL to a girl. Has she not heard who controls those future grandbabies? It’s really sad. I think those 2 do love each other, but sweet Maddie will never be able to contend with Babs contempt for her. MEE-OOOOW, Babs, MEE-OOOOW!
Carol says
PERFECT recap. Run, Madi. Run–do not walk–away from the man who still lives at home with this woman. I am probably just a few years younger than Barb. I have a married daughter and an amazing son-in-law. I treated everyone she ever dated with love and respect, and I prayed for them. I told my daughter last night that she should also thank me that I prayed for many years for her future in-laws–that they would love and accept her into their family. It is so important.
Poor Madi. And poor Peter. I also wonder if Harrison has a spare room for Peter in the basement of his LA home? Poor guy needs to cut the cord himself, because momma isn’t going to do it.
Andrea says
Girl! You are the best. Love your recaps and love your blog!
Michelle says
“Merona hoodie” took me all the way out! The recap gems you drop NEVER disappoint!
Suzy D says
OMG so glad you caught the sobbing/dry face look. It was so stinking manipulative. It became very very clear that Barb is running the show in that family. How said – Hannah Ann deserves to move on and be with BIP Dylans best friend, whoever that is. She seems very similar to the Hannah before her. And Madison rules the world, that girl can have her choice – love that she is standing her ground and love it even more that her parents must be 20 based on appearance.
Kathy Cochran says
I love your recaps so much, just hilarious!!
Gina says
Love your recaps! Cannot wait until your final one. Barb is too much!
Kris says
Your recap is absolutely the best…it’s like you were reading my mind…can’t wait to see your comments tomorrow about the train wreck last night!
Rebecca says
I’m seriously irritated that Harrison gave crazy Barb any airtime or credit at all. As the mom of THREE SONS I can assure you, wanting what’s best for them is normal, getting downright hysterical over what she perceives to be right, is insane. She’s a damn lunatic.
5-7-9 and Merona have me peeing my pants. Thanks for the laughs!
Jeanine says
This made me laugh out loud! Thanks so much for your recaps – definitely a highlight of my week! I especially love the pictures you choose to go along with the recaps – please keep up the good work!
Ahsia says
Your recaps are amazing. I have not watched the Bachelor this year, but I feel like I did thanks to your commentary. I am looking forward to finding out how it all ends tomorrow.
Kim says
“But will you still be able to go line dancing?” Hilarious. Asking all the important questions 🙂 I do think Peter’s family is correct in picking up on some big possible incompatibilities between the two of them, but their delivery is all wrong, and, in the end, Peter is an adult and he gets to choose. But yes, definitely see why he tolerated/embraced the dramatic women this season. They all probably seemed totally normal to him!
Susanne says
I’m sitting in a doctor’s waiting room and I cannot stop laughing!!! ?
Suzy D says
Also, if you want to be further creeped out, check out Barbs instagram page. In particular, the Ghost parody of shirtless Peter with womens hands rubbing all over his body, ummm – YUK. Two rules ladies: Do not post photos of your kids shirtless once they are past the age of 14, seriously. They need to be covered up. Second rule: Grown women should not be wearing tube tops, I don’t care how fly you think you look in that thing.
Heidi says
The “Merona hoodie” comment was so on point. I’m dead. Excellent recap!
Margaret says
Barb sounds like a PIECE OF WORK! I wouldn’t wish her as the MIL of my worst enemy.
Tracie says
Well said. I couldn’t take Barb as a mother in law and I’m a little concerned about Peter. He is so wishy washy and does he have a job as a pilot or just a pilots license? He lives at home… I kept thinking of a Matthew Mcconaughay in “Failure to Launch”. Madi can do better.
Liz says
He does have a job. He works for Delta. He’s a Captain for them.
Frankly I think he needs to go back to work and fly outta Mom’s house!
Merry says
Your re-caps are so fun!?
After a lackluster Bachelor lead, the producers must be over the moon with all the ridiculous, manipulative, outrageous drama of Mama Barb!
Candace says
I’m glad someone else was as confused by the brother’s concern for Peters future in line dancing as I was!! ?
Michelle says
I agree that whoever did not get Barb as a mother in law was the real winner! I could not believe the looks she was giving and the words she was saying. I was so embarrassed for her. Could never imagine doing that to my sons.

I think his mom and dad are insane. I thought this DM (about Madison) from Barb shared by someone was interesting.
“Unfortunately what wasn’t shown was how it all started. Madison had us wait 3 hrs because she didn’t want to come in to meet us. My son begged her to do so. Once in she never offer an apology (keep in mind we had traveled across the world to meet both girls). When I asked her if she loved my son she said No! And that she would not accept a proposal in 4 days. (Then what was she doing there?). My son Jack pointed out to Peter that in the small time he was there she was all about herself and not about Peter. Trust me when I say all that glitters is not gold!!! Thank you,” the DM reads

Even if that is all true, which it very well might be, I’m still totally on Team Madi! Are you too?
Julie says
You are hilarious and spot on about Barb. Yuck yuck yuck ?
Julie Bradford says
DEAD…ON!!!! gosh… I CAN NOT STAND BARB!!!! she was acting like a 12yr old…. no wait my 10 yr olds don’t roll their eyes and act that disrespectful!!! she is CRRRRRRRAAAAAZZZZYYYYY.. & if Madi and Peter truly love each other (like it seems) I feel so bad for them b/c NO WAY would I EVER want a MIL like her… she is awful!!! I can’t wait to read your recap from the finale b/c I was SOOOOOOOOOOO proud of Madi & the way she handled herself last night!!!
Michelle says
I loved how you summed it all up. Thanks for calling out Bogus Barb on her fake faith!!!

“Peter showed up in a Merona hoodie”!!!! I’m dying….don’t even watch the show but am delighted by your recaps

After the first night I thought his mother was crazy, then after the second part I think she’s a straight up B.I. I am appalled by her behavior! If she loved her son like she said and wanted what was best for him, she never would have acted like that on national TV in front of them. Soooo bad!!! Madi was pure class.

I couldn’t wait to hear what you had to say about Barb while I was watching and you said EVERYTHING I was thinking! Spot on! I work in mental health and always say that once you know the backstory regarding someone’s family, their choices ALWAYS make sense. This situation is no exception. With a mom like Babs it’s a wonder Peter is even functioning. And don’t even get me started on the lack of healthy boundaries! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Part 2!
Mary says
Oh my! Barb is the psycho MIL from h@$#! And then sat at the finale all snotty and rude…SHE needs to be sent home without a rose! Not sure if Madi will survive all that CRAZY! Thanks for making me laugh each week!

First off, I always love when you pull out the 5-7-9 outfit comparisons! Hilarious & SO true!!! Did you happen to catch the panty shot in Hannah Ann’s body con dress ?that girl loves some shorter than short outfits!
I am 100% team Madi! And Barb is straight looney! I felt bad for Peter though now seeing how crazy his mom is his season makes a lot more sense! I hope Madi moves on so she doesn’t get stuck with a crazy MIL!!!!
Thanks for your recaps….they’re perfect!!! ❤️

Hilarious…such a great recap! Your pictures always have me rolling. Omg don’t even get me started about Barb…I was shocked. It was almost like she showed more love and support to Hannah then her own son. It was crazy and then the way she treated Maddie was sickening but man that girl handled it like a champ. She is so wise and mature. I adore her and her values especially in today’s crazy world. I think it is a true love as well and to me that is so so sad because I can’t imagine them ever making it unless they disown Barbara! ??

10 business days- hilarious! But so true! Barb is crazy and I feel sorry for whoever ends up with Peter!

You had me at…Barb broke out a strapless tube top and white jeans and that is crazy!”
Oh goodness! This was too good that I had to wait to get home to read it. Otherwise I was busting up laughing and my co-workers were wondering what on earth I was reading! Can’t wait for tomorrow!
Jennifer says
You nailed it!! Somehow Barb doesn’t realize how wonderful Madi is and would be for her son. That lady is crazy!! Loved your recap…you’re so funny!

Barb = COPIOUS amounts of wine at every family gathering. For. Life. #RUNgirls
You’re the BEST bachelor recapper ever ?? Can’t wait for Tuesdays!

Barb needs Jesus ??
Liz says
Spot on- I agree completely with you. I was cringing, like hiding my face cringing at Barb’s behavior.
Regardless of what they think of Madi or the relationship; you don’t do that on national tv!! It was awful. I wanted to go kidnap Madi and Peter to get them away from that crazy lady!
Despite their religious differences- I don’t see why everyone automatically assumed they couldn’t work it out. Maybe he’ll start going to church with her and see what it’s like, since it seems he has little experience with going to church/faith life etc. People can change for their partners. Who’s to say he couldn’t or can’t?!

“Some men just need a woman to have high standards for them, and then they can rise to those standards.”
This. Every gal out there needs to hear this. Thank you!

All I have to say is, DITTO! I had every single same thought as I watched this. I really hoped Hannah Ann was going to leave him too. This was just too much. All the praise hands for Clare Crawley and hopefully some 38 year old wisdom next season.

OMG!!! LOL!!! this was a “muy importante” blog post!!! ???

Hey. I think I’ve read them all and your recaps are by far the most entertaining. I happened upon this tonight and reread it and it was like watching it all over again. Sure have missed you this season. Just thought you should know someone thinks you’re awesome. Thanks for what you do and Merry Christmas!
Sheaffer says
Well, you are too sweet Kim! Thank you so much for taking time to send some kindness my way!!!!! And Merry Christmas to you! xoxo
