1. The pilot and Victoria P. had a 1:1 date to open the show (did we know this was going to happen?), and ABC did everything in their power to appeal to all of us here down South.  They pulled out all the stops including plaid flannel, cowboy boots, cowboy hats, vintage trucks, bull riding, and line dancing.  #yeehaw

“My friends and I love to line dance” was a line I can’t say I’d ever thought I’d hear out of Peter’s or any Bachelor’s mouth.  BUT LISTEN.  I was FULLY there for it because the boy could move in a slightly awkward, but totally adorable way. I love that Peter was confident enough to get out there and boot scoot his boogie, and the whole segment gave me Footloose vibes.  And who doesn’t love Footloose.  And Ren McCormack.

2. During girl talk at the mansion, Hannah Ann said “finasco“. Which obviously isn’t a real word, but I have to say, I love a good made up word.  Problem is, she didn’t cleverly make up a new word…she just doesn’t know how to pronounce a real life word.  If you didn’t watch the show, what she meant was that the whole misunderstanding about the champagne was a total FIASCO.  I MEAN.  If she was saying something had been a financial fiasco, I would have applauded her ingenuity.  But alas, she wasn’t.  I bet she also says “libary” and “supposably”.

3.  Another girl said “lingeree” instead of “lingerie”.  I CANNOT.

4. Kelsey:  I don’t really even like champagne.

5.  Sydney casually asked our resident beauty pageant queen “Do you like work at all?” And I just about died.  For the record, Alayah responded by saying that she actually has three jobs.  DO TELL, ALAYAH.

And then Sydney’s line of questioning went from casual to FULL ON CIA/FBI.  Yep, Agent Sydney BROUGHT IT with some federal investigator strategy. While acting aloof and totally nonchalant she asked the beauty queen “So do you feel like you keep a lot of that (the beauty pageant mentality) in you to this day?”  And then Alayah dug herself a big ol’ hole.   She said she is “just so used to being prim, and proper, and perfect.”  She explained that she’s just so used to it and that it’s basically been her life for like 8 years.  And in case you are wondering, she has “always been a title holder, and has held several titles.”   And Agent Sydney was all like “Yeah, knowing what to say, the right thing to say… ”  And the beauty queen totally agreed and was like “Yeah.  And if I don’t want to answer a question, I know how to answer without answering.  And I know how to not say things to offend people.”   And all the while, listening to her voice, I was having major auditory ptsd.  #krystal

Sydney then wrapped it all up with a nice little bow when she said (in a super passive aggressive voice) “Yeah, opening up and being your true core is kinda hard.”  It was a very PC way of calling her FAKE.

And THAT is when Alayah realized she’d been bamboozled.

IT. WAS. AWESOME.

Looks like our beauty queen just failed the interview portion, y’all.  She better hope the swimsuit and evening gown portion of the evening go better.

6.  Peter threw the LAMEST. POOL. PARTY. EVER.   And after a handful of talks with some of the girls, Peter bounced.  HE LEFT HIS OWN POOL PARTY.  What a finasco.

7.  MyKenna needs to take a chill pill prior to the next rose ceremony.  THE END.

8.  When Peter walked out of the rose ceremony without a word, I was certain that MyKenna would start seizing.

9.  Y’all. Alayah didn’t get a rose.  Which makes her like 18th runner up.  Look, Alayah.  You just got another title:  18th Runner Up on The Bachelor.  #putthatonyourresume #thistitledoesnotcomewithacrown

10.  ABC Producers are the hardest working people out there.  The previews for next week have me shook.  How they managed to book a private concert with one of the contestants who had actually hooked up with the guy playing the gig is monumental.  Mike Fleiss is a magician.

LET’S GET TO THE AMAZON HAUL!

ATHLEISURE JACKET

I’m starting with this jacket because it straight up knocked my socks off.

It looks and feels like a designer athleisure brand.  The body is quilted, super cute, and the color blocking makes it so flattering.  I love the stand up collar and hood, and it also has little adjustable drawstrings that allow you to cinch the hood tight if you are wearing it when raining.

It comes in a plain black too if you prefer a more streamlined look, but I thought this olive color blocking was great fun, and it’s quite a bit cheaper! But even the black one is UNDER $60, which I’m telling you is an incredible price for the quality.

And I’m of course wearing it with my favorite leggings and favorite mesh sneakers (both in your Amazon Top 5 from 2019)!

NEW MILITARY JACKET

Y’all know I love a great military jacket.

A military jacket is a closet staple that layers beautifully with lots of different outfits, and I firmly believe that everybody needs AT LEAST one.  If you don’t have one, GET THIS ONE!

I have collected SEVERAL over the years, but all of mine I currently own are sold out, so I love that I can give you an option that is fully stocked and only $45.  It comes in 6 colors, and I love this soft blush (officially called “washed vintage pink”).

I’m wearing a medium here, but I definitely need the small, so I would say that it’s oversized since I would typically need a medium in a jacket like this.

This is the same jacket as above, but in “washed dark green”.  If you don’t have any military jackets, I would suggest starting with this classic military green.  I’m telling you right now that it’s actually a neutral and will go with almost everything you try to pair it with.

I love the stand up collar, the sturdy twill, and the fact that it has some stretch in it.

And again, the price point is seriously unbelievable at ONLY $45.  For a jacket that you will reach for all the time.

Amazon is a great resource for festive clothes that you don’t want to spent a lot of money on.  Today I’ve got several great options for February.

HOW CUTE IS THIS BASEBALL TEE!  On the same link there are several different graphic hearts to choose from, and there’s a black and grey option as well.  I’m wearing a medium and definitely needed the extra room.  The tee is soft, comfy, and darling!

I fell in love with this vintage inspired KIND IS COOL tee because of the message.  Once I got it I realized it’s a really soft cotton blend and great quality. It will be SO CUTE on Valentine’s Day, but you can obviously wear it all year long. And it’s only $15.99! I’m wearing a medium.

This duster cardi is a really pretty light blush, and it comes in several colors as well.  It’s a perfect weight for when you want a layer, but you don’t necessarily want warmth.  I’m wearing a small.

I saw this sweater all over blog land last year.  It was cute then, and it’s still cute now!  It comes in a couple of different color combinations, but I like that they grey and white is kind of subtle since the heart is so big.  I’m wearing a small.

If you don’t want to go full on Valentine’s Day, you can be festive just with the colors you are wearing.

This pink popcorn knit cardi is festive without being over the top.  The chunky knit makes it fun and different.  I’m wearing a small.  AND I LOVE THIS TASSEL NECKLACE!  It’s such a great deal!

In this next outfit I paired a great red cardi with a pink necklace, which immediately makes the outfit festive!

This cardi is FANTASTIC.  This beautiful red (a perfect Valentine’s red) is just under $18, but it comes in 15 total colors that are all at different price points.  I’m wearing a small here, and it’s not as long on me as it is on the model, so I would suggest sizing up if you want it longer like it looks on the model.  The small isn’t cropped at all (and it actually fits great), it’s just not the length I was expecting it to be.

The cardi has fantastic reviews, and in addition to wearing it casually, this would also be a great cardigan for the office.

Here’s another great red, and I love the textured stripes.  I showed this in November, but wanted to show it again today because of the color.  It’s a relaxed fit, but it can easily be dressed up, and it even has a sweet little bow in the back at the neck.  SO CUTE!  It can be styled with a half tuck or worn out, and I like it both ways.

For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.  If you don’t need extra room in the chest, stick with your regular size.

Y’all.  I was not prepared to love this sweater, but my goodness I do.  It comes in 3 different color block patterns, and I love all three.

It’s a lightweight sweater that I will wear now (great for layering), but I will also most definitely be wearing it well into Spring.

It’s not long, but it’s definitely not cropped either.  The white band on the bottom makes it perfect for wearing out and not doing a half tuck.  It hits at a good place on the hips to wear it like this.  It’s very soft, very comfy, and quite flattering.

This pullover sweater  comes in 9 total colors (like brick, burgundy, navy, and olive), and I’m wearing the pale mauve but it’s definitely like a blush.

The fabric is soft and comfy.  It’s lightweight with a little stretch in it.  This would also be a great layering piece under a blazer.

I am wearing a medium, and it’s definitely needed for room in the chest.

Next up, we have a stupid cozy pullover.

STUPID. COZY.  And in a beautiful smoky pink color it’s festive for February too..

Y’all know I love a stand up collar, and this collar really delivers.

I find that it’s very well made and worth the money.  The outside is that wubbly fleece that is so popular right now, but the inside is different.  The only way I can describe it is that it’s like a silky t shirt material.  Whatever it is, it’s amazing. I really love this dusty rose color.  I’m wearing a small and it’s a little snug.  I think I would be more comfortable in a medium.

It’s very warm, very soft, and very comfy.

I’m wearing a medium, but it’s very roomy, and I’m ordering a small for myself. I would say stick to your regular size.

SWEATERS

This sweater is 100% cotton, and it’s the perfect weight and color for Spring.  The contrasting wavy pattern on the sleeves make it unique, and I love the camel paired with the white.  This will be a great sweater for white jeans!

Do y’all remember the leopard cardigan that I adored and that everybody fell in love with?  It was a TOP 3 Amazon favorite from y’all last year, and you can click HERE to see it on me.

This oatmeal cardi (official name “solid beige”) is from the same maker.  It feels the same (a thick and soft knit) but it fits quite a bit different.  The leopard cardi is longer and the sizing is a bit more generous, where this oatmeal cardi is closer fitting.  If you want it bigger than you see below, just order a size up to give you a little more slouchy look.

I already have this sweater in a dark camel that I’ve shown several times now (seen below with the black cross body and leopard sneakers), and I couldn’t resist this pretty blush.

I LOVE IT SO MUCH, and so do others because it has great reviews.

It has a slouchy fit, dropped shoulders, and a loose turtleneck.  It’s not long enough for leggings on my 5’4″ frame, but it looks great with jeans!  It’s quite over sized, but the ribbed and fitted cuffs help it not look sloppy.  In my opinion, it’s just a perfectly loose and relaxed fit.

It is soft, well made, and looks much more expensive than it is.  It definitely reminds me of the Free People slouchy sweaters that are 3x the price.

Here’s the camel one again, because I keep on wearing it.

And pay special attention to my bag.  I LOVE THIS BAG.  It reminds me very much of this $950 Stella McCartney bag.  It’s faux croc, a great size, I love the silver chain, and I think it looks designer (and much more expensive than it is).  It has 3 accordion compartments in the inside, and one of them is zippered.  The biggest compartment will hold my make up and keys, one of the small ones will hold my phone, and the other small one will hold the small cardholder I have for my credit cards and license when I have a small bag.

Now here’s the kicker, there’s only 47 of these babies available, so grab one if you love it!

Here’s the blush one again.   Because I keep wearing it too.  I wore it out to dinner with the girls earlier this week.

And take a second to notice my large abalone earrings.  They are GORGEOUS and light.

Last week I showed this sweater with cropped girlfriend jeans and leopard booties.  This week, I’m wearing it with my favorite boot cut jeans!

This sweater is soooooooooooooooo incredibly soft.  It’s a super relaxed fit, and even has a bit of a bat wing design. If you don’t like blousy and oversized, this sweater isn’t for you.  But if you do like those things, grab this sweater!  I’m wearing the small here and it’s still very roomy.  I’m wearing the “light rust” (it appears super orange in this picture, but I do think it’s more of a rust in real life), and it comes in 12 total colors.

COMFY CLOTHES

This hoodie is my idea of a perfect basic.  The quality is amazing and I think it’s a total steal at $35.  You will reach for this over and over.

It’s soooooooooooooo soft on the inside because it’s lined with some super soft blush fleece. I love the stripes and it’s a great casual top to pair both with jeans and joggers (as you’ll see in a second).  It comes in 2 other stripe colorways and 6 solid colors too.

This is one of those tops that many of you will love so much that you will grab in at least 1 more color.

I’m wearing a small here and it’s fine, but if I order a 2nd color (thinking about the grey stripes), I’ll order a medium for a more relaxed fit.

LOOK! HOW! CUTE! IT! IS! WITH! JOGGERS!

And yes…these are the joggers that I’ve been screaming and shouting about for a couple of months now, and I can confidently say I love them even more now than when I first got them.  They wash beautifully and still look brand new.

These Amazon joggers ARE FANTASTIC.  I ordered these after fielding lots of requests for some affordable full length joggers. I love the Lou and Grey ones (but they are more expensive) and the Gibson ones (they are quite a bit thinner) so much, but these new Amazon ones are thick and a great price. And I really like the exaggerated height on the cuff at the ankle.  And I feel like I can’t have too many joggers.

So these are heavier than the other ones I own, and I love the closer fit and how these are higher waisted.  They aren’t as baggy as my other joggers either, and I feel like they are very flattering.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Some reviewers complained of a chemical smell, and lots of you have asked me about it, but mine don’t smell AT ALL. Other readers have chimed in and said the same thing.  They must have fixed the issue!

If you wear leggings, this split hem tunic tee is something you need in your closet.  It’s soft, it skims the body (but doesn’t hug it at all), and it covers the booty!  I sized up to a medium so it would be long enough for leggings.  If I was going to only wear it with jeans (it would be great with jeans and a cardi), I would have stuck with a small.
