It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now!

10 BACHELOR THOUGHTS
So I’ve got what some of you are going to consider bad news. I will not be formally recapping The Bachelor this season. So many have reached out this week asking if I would be, so I wanted to address it on the blog.
It was a decision I based solely on family time. The recaps took me soooooooooo many hours to do. I had to watch the show, take notes, write the recap, grab screen shots, go back and watch the show again, tweak the jokes in the post, etc. They were a lot of fun to write, but they were stressing me out on Mondays and Tuesdays because I felt like the recaps were taking priority over my family, which I didn’t like.
HOWEVER. When in the shower yesterday morning, I had an idea!
I’m excited to announce that I’m going to do a much abbreviated recap on my Friday Favorites posts. Actually, it won’t be a recap, but I will share a handful of thoughts each week from that week’s show!
THIS WEEK’S 10 BACHELOR THOUGHTS (EPISODE 1):
1. I want to know who the unlucky girl was who got her hoo-ha waxed on national tv when we were being introduced to Alexa the esthetician. Alexa waxes people for a living, yet she claims she is a “caregiver”. And she chose to say “Waxing is a lot like love. You have to bare it all.” NOT ENOUGH MONEY OR fabfitfun boxes in the world, y’all. She also said “hairy nipples” in her intro. So there’s that.
2. The stupid and gimmicky entrances will NEVER get old. I might roll my eyes, my gag reflux might kick up, and I will of course make fun of them…..but I’M HERE FOR THE STUPID ENTRANCES. Give me all the huge paper airplanes, the ground crew waving in the girl on the tiny little airplane, and the put put golf Windmill hole.
3. HOWEVER. One girl made a kitty cat joke. She’s dead to me. No m’am. #inappropriate
4. Another girl named Victoria almost couldn’t get her intro joke out. She kept giggling and acting embarrassed before she said it. BUT THEN SHE SAID IT. Well, she should have gone with her first instinct. She shouldn’t have said it. And then she definitely should have known better than to say it again later. But she did that too. I now question her judgement on all things, and if I was her mama, I would hang my head in shame. Bless her mama’s heart.
5. A reader pointed out this morning that I was missing a number 5. OOPS! So, I will just say this. Ladies, put your boobs away. We don’t want to see the top of your boobs, the side of your boobs, or your underboob. And let’s all just act like “underboob” is a word.
6. Is shirtless airplane washing a thing? IN JEANS NO LESS. #andabelt
7. Hannah Ann, although adorable and a front runner, needs to brush up on her Top Gun trivia. Because she’s Goose. NOT Maverick. Her generation really does have so much to learn. AND WHILE WE’RE ON THE TOP GUN SUBJECT. Tom Cruise never would have worn this jacket. But it would have looked darling on Kelly McGillis.
8. I feel like we’ve seen this group date before. Where the girls are expected to go on stage and tell about their first times. ABC. How is it that I have once again found myself SHAKING MY DANG HEAD. Have more respect for yourself than this.
9. Alabama Hannah – If you are going to full on crash your “ex-boyfriends” Bachelor experience and have an emotional breakdown, it would behoove you to spend some time on the hunt for a good waterproof mascara.
10. At this point, you cannot convince me that our sweet little baby faced pilot isn’t still in love with Miss Alabama Hannah. Make no mistake, he wants to try for a new record and go 5x in a windmill in a single night. #somebodycallGuiness
All right! That’s my 10 thoughts for this week! Hope you enjoyed the little abbreviated recap. Check back next Friday for another collection of Bachelor thoughts.

SWEATERS ON REPEAT
I have a couple of sweaters I got last month that have quickly emerged as favorites. I keep grabbing them to wear again and again. They are great basics, and I’m so happy I added them to my closet.
You’ve seen this FABULOUS cardi several times already, and here it is again in a new outfit. It’s so good, y’all! And it’s ONLY $23.20!!!
I found this review about laundering: It’s hard to find lightweight sweaters that you can wash without needing fabric softener for static (i.e. not polyester or acrylic). These dry really well hanging: just hang on a felt/rubber hanger and shape/smooth out a few times while it is drying. Stretch to remove any lingering wrinkles. And this reviewer actually owns 5 colors of this sweater, so she clearly loves it.
It’s soft, lightweight, and has a good bit of stretch to it (which I really like). I’m wearing the “mocha mousse” and think it’s a very pretty neutral.
It looks great with jeans, but it would look great over dresses too as well as all other office appropriate clothing.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
light weight cardi / white tee / my favorite earrings / amazonite wrap bracelet / cropped girlfriend jeans / camo wedge sneakers
This is one of those that if you buy it, I’m certain you’ll end up buying at least one more. The price is really too good to believe.

I’m OBSESSED with this cozy boucle turtleneck sweater that comes in 10 great colors – I also love the dusty rose and grey heather.
I LOVE IT, and so do others because it has great reviews.
It has a slouchy fit, dropped shoulders, and a loose turtleneck. It’s not long enough for leggings on my 5’4″ frame, but it looks great with jeans! It’s quite over sized, but the ribbed and fitted cuffs help it not look sloppy. In my opinion, it’s just a perfectly loose and relaxed fit.
It is soft, well made, and looks much more expensive than it is. It definitely reminds me of the Free People slouchy sweaters that are 3x the price.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

It’s so cozy and warm.

NEW BRACELETS
For this portion of the post, I’m working with Victoria Emerson to make sure you know about some of their beautiful new bracelets! I’m absolutely smitten with the new designs, colors, and materials.
On this first bracelet, I love the combination of the golds and pinks with the wood grain beads. The braided ribbon adds such wonderful texture, and I love the light celadon green and the amazonite beads too. This is a cuff bracelet with a magnetic closure.
pink and gold stack bracelet / rust sweater
I think this sweater is very Madewell-esque. You can see it in a mirror selfie HERE.
It’s 100% cotton and a great thick knit, but it’s the button detailing that gave me all the heart eyes.
It also comes in a great blue, mulberry, and light camel (which looks like a cream to me).

This 3 wrap bracelet boasts rose quartz stones in both rectangles and ovals and small rose gold beads.

The soft colors are so pretty.

With beautifully mixed stones on stark white leather, the Mixed Amazonite on White wrap bracelet is great now and will be perfect for Spring and Summer too! The amazonite beads are pale pinks, smoky grays, faded teals, and creamy ivory.
amazonite wrap bracelet / light weight cardi / white tee
The white leather really makes this bracelet pop.

And last but not least, this baby is on SUPER SALE! It’s regularly $49, but it’s ON SALE for $19.99! Get while the gettin’ is good, because once it’s gone, it’s gone.
turquoise stack bracelet / camo bag strap / cozy boucle turtleneck sweater/ my favorite earrings
Black, gold, ivory, and turquoise all come together for this fabulous cuff.

And great news! In addition to the turquoise cuff above, there are other bracelets to choose from that are also deeply discounted. Click on what you are interested in.
Thank you to Victoria Emerson for sponsoring this portion of the post.

COZY TOPS
I got some new cozy tops over the last couple of weeks that I’m excited to share with you!
This first sweater is soooooooooooooooo incredibly soft. It’s a super relaxed fit, and even has a bit of a bat wing design. If you don’t like blousy and oversized, this sweater isn’t for you. But if you do like those things, grab this sweater! I’m wearing the small here and it’s still very roomy. I’m wearing the “light rust” (it appears super orange in this picture, but I do think it’s more of a rust in real life), and it comes in 12 total colors.
sweater / must have earrings /amazonite wrap bracelet / cropped girlfriend jeans / similar leopard booties
Y’all know I love Kelly green. And you know I always have trouble finding the right color green.
You also know that I love all things cozy.
ENTER GIBSON’S NEW KELLY GREEN FLEECE TOP.
I know many of you have a love this top in other colors, but I love that they added this great green. I’m wearing a small, but I suggest sizing down 1 size because it definitely runs large.
green cozy fleece top / denim jacket / huggie earrings / dainty heart necklace / joggers / mesh sneakers (apricot – size down a 1/2)
And I want to draw attention to this sweet little heart necklace. Mine is the iridescent drusy, but it also comes in turquoise, mother of pearl, abalone, and pink drusy.
It’s so pretty and dainty. If you have a daughter, this would be a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift for her. It would also be a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift to yourself!
I have one more crazy soft sweater for you today. It’s a hoodie, it comes in 4 colors, and the cozy factor is a solid 10. You can wear it with jeans or joggers, and you’re going to want to wear it all the time.
I’m wearing a small here and it’s quite roomy, so I would suggest that you consider sizing down.
hooded pullover / huggie earrings / cropped girlfriend jeans / mesh sneakers (apricot – size down a 1/2)

MY FAVORITE SWEATSUIT
I’ve shown this set several times, but I wore it again, so I’m showing it again.
I have them pulled up to look like they are cropped on the left, and pulled down to full length on the right. I wear a medium in the top and a small in the joggers.

NEW YEAR’S EVE RANCH TRIP
Over Christmas break, we went to ranch for 4 wonderful days and nights! There were 3 other families and some other friends there with us, and we had the very best time.
The boys climbed trees.
And we had a camp fire every night.
We burned brush during the day after having some of the land cleared.
We caught a couple of beautiful sunsets.
And our friend Joe put on maybe the best fireworks show I’ve ever seen.
It was truly fantastic.
Such wonderful memories.
And we got lots of puppy snuggles too.
It was truly my idea of the perfect weekend.

Kelly green is my favorite ?
Erika Slaughter says
I need to watch the episode from Monday ASAP!! I didn’t know Hannah made an appearance!?!
Sheaffer says
GIRL! At the end he asked her if she wanted to join the other girls at the house…..we don’t know yet what she said!
Gina says
Thanks for the Bachelor recap!! Your New Years celebration at the farm looks like so much FUN!! What a beautiful place.
Monica says
Sheaffer! Don’t dull yourself out! You have such amazing style but the tan, beige, gray neutrals are dulling your sparkle! You look amazing in bright colors! Bring it on!!!
BTW – Your shower revelation was fabulous! Love The Bachelor top ten! It give me just enough!
Have a super day and keep sparkling!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Monica! I’m not done with bright colors by any means, I just haven’t had any luck lately. I ordered what I thought was an amazing bright pinky red sweater that I had planned on featuring today (from Nordstrom)….but when I tried it on it was soooooooo itchy. I don’t do itchy! Haha! As soon as I find some brightly colored clothes I love, I will definitely be featuring them! xoxo
Monica says
Hooray!!! Itchy and I do not get along at all either!
Dawn Scheurich says
I love your new recap—thanks! I SO agree with the I appropriate “kitty cat” comment and also with the “first time” stories—seriously, ABC?! Just NOPE! I also was thinking we should send Hannah some new waterproof mascara or at least some make up wipes?
Love all your picks today—thanks for doing the shopping for us! Have a great weekend!!
Brenda says
Hi Sheaffer! I would love to know more about your ranch, not personal details, but just curious – when you say you were there with family members and friends, where do you all stay? Is there a lodge, do you each have cabins? I love that you have the ranch to get away to and always find myself wanting to ask more questions about it!
As a longtime Bachelor recap reader of yours, love the tidbits you shared! Yep, the “kittycat” joke went over a line that shouldn’t be crossed #yikes! Why didn’t Hannah have waterproof mascara? And yes! Like you – who agreed to be waxed as part of that young lady’s intro?
Thanks for sharing all you do – happy Friday!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Brenda! There is one ranch house on the property. It’s by no means luxurious, but it gets the job done. Downstairs there are two bedrooms (each with a queen bed), and upstairs it’s nothing but beds! There are 7 twin beds, a queen bed, a king bed, and one bunk bed that are all upstairs. Everybody just piles in like one big happy family, and if there are tons of people there, we use additional air mattresses. It’s so much fun! xoxo
Kim says
Aw, I am so sad you won’t be doing the Bachelor recaps. They were what originally brought me to your site and are still my favorite posts. I am sure they do take a long time, though, and of course family comes first! Glad you will still be sharing a few thoughts. I thought it was a great premiere – much better than last year’s with all the random watch parties and filler content – so much happened in this first episode!
KRISTIN TATE says
I will take the re-cap highlights over nothing any day! Thank you, I’ve missed you doing those!
Shay Shull says
Sheaffer! I know you don’t watch Hallmark movies…but trust me when I say, those pics at the end looked like they were out of one!!!
Sharon A says
Love the top ten list— but am I the only one to notice there’s not a #5 on the list? Haha! I’m feeling jipped! 🙂
Sheaffer says
Omg! I’m dying!!!! I rearranged the numbers at one point, and I guess I messed things up when I did that. OOPS! 🙂
Sharon says
Hahaha!!! Thanks for adding it back in. I agree on the boobs!
Laci says
I am super happy you are doing a little recap and I totally understand how time consuming they must be! I feel like 3 hours of any show is WAY TOO much even for my beloved trash TV, lol Happy Friday!
Kara says
How do your dogs do with fireworks? My Chocolate lab loses his mind when he hears fireworks. So bad that I think we will give him heavy meds next time. 🙁
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kara! Charlie could care less, but Buddy doesn’t love loud noises. He stays inside during the fireworks and is fine. So sorry for your pup, I hear that some get so anxious. Yes, meds to help calm him sound like a good idea! xoxo
Sarah G says
I love the bachelor recaps/fun list!! Your comments are always exactly what everyone else is thinking yet in a laugh out loud kind of way 🙂 Thank you for doing them!
Your New Years Eve looks like so much fun!!
Addison says
I love your Bachelor recaps and I was SO sad to see them go, but I like the idea of 10 thoughts! It was such an entertaining premiere and I look forward to Peter’s season!
Dawn says
So glad you didn’t give up Bachelor recaps completely! They never fail to make me laugh! #besthashtagsever
Erin says
Love your recap! Watch that Victoria girl – hot mess express coming soon
Thank you for the Amazon reviews – I’ve been wanting to shop on there but you just don’t know ! But now we do !!
Susan says
Yes!! You just made my day! Bachelor comments were great! My husband will be so happy too.
mireille says
Got the camo wedge sneakers and love them. You’ve picked some great favorites.

Laurie S says
Happy Friday! I gave up on watching The Bachelor / Bachlorette – too much cringing and gag reflex inducing for me. I LOVE your Bachelor Friday recaps – it’s just right, and I adore your wit/commentary. Have a great weekend.
Joanne says
I mentioned you on my blog today as I was talking about my 2 favorite bracelets from Victoria Emerson that I just bought earlier this month when you mentioned their 2 for 1 sale. I had never bought one before but I really like them! These new styles are super cute too!
Elizabeth says
My friends/co workers and I are so disappointed that you are no longer doing bachelor recaps! It’s almost funny that you aren’t doing them because it’s “too much work!” Wow! Having to work at your job! Lol we will miss checking out your page!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Elizabeth! Thanks, I think?!? I’m not afraid of work….I work all the time….but the recaps were taking away two evenings from my family every week. I was watching the Bachelor on Monday nights (obviously without my son in the room), and then I would always be working on the post all day Tuesday and on Tuesday nights as well. As stated the posts were very time intensive, and I just wasn’t willing to give up two evenings each and every week with my family. Hopefully y’all will still stop by on Fridays for my weekly thoughts! xoxo, Sheaffer
Molly says
The shower is the greatest place to get some serious decision making done!
Also, Peter’s family seems so cute but I felt like the vow renewal was definitely a staged thing for the show and not quite genuine . . . I’ve never heard of anyone renewing their vows after thirty-ONE years of marriage?! That being said, his dad’s emotional speech was so sweet!
Cindy Wallander says
Hello! I love Kelly green, and I am trying to find your post where you showed the Kelly green crew neck sweater from Nordstrom – I think the brand was Treasure and Bond. Not the one with the neck ruffle; the one I am thinking of is more of a classic crew sweater. Any help would be fantastic! Thank you!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Cindy! I feature the Treasure and Bond one tomorrow, but I also featured a v neck from Gibson. Is that the one you are talking about?
Cindy Wallander says
Hi there!
I waited to see today’s post before replying…
No, the sweater today was not the one I am thinking of. The one you featured recently (maybe in the last two weeks or so) was Treasure and Bond, like today’s, but without the cable knit pattern. The one I can’t locate is the same pretty green color without the cable knit. Basically just a “plain” crew neck. Does that ring any bells? Thank you so much!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Cindy! I featured a v neck Gibson top, but that’s the only other green top that I’ve personally featured. HOWEVER, if you search “Treasure and Bond crewneck pullover”, there’s a great one that you’ll see. Maybe you saw somebody else feature it? Hope this helps! xoxo
Cindy Wallander says
Hi Sheaffer! You are the only person I follow for shopping – and I buy lots of what you recommend! (Thanks!)
Well, I guess I won’t be getting that particular green sweater. Oh well! The one you recommended I search for is on the way! Fingers crossed 🙂
Thanks so much – you are the BEST #heartemoji
xoxo right back atcha!
