COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD CHRISTMAS IN JULY SALE
Y’all know I’m incredibly loyal to Colleen Rothschild skin care products, so when they asked if I would partner with them today to spread the word about their Christmas in July sale, I signed right on! Everything is 20% OFF (so you can stock up on all of your faves for a great deal!), but there are also a select number of products that are up to 50% OFF!
Click HERE to see the best deals of the sale.
Check out this Skin Revival Serum Trio in the sale! The set comes beautifully packaged in a magnetic gift box (for yourself or a loved one) and contains the fantastically rated Face Oil #9, the Age Renewal Super Serum, and the Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum. Click HERE to learn more about each product. It’s a $170 value, regularly priced at $95, and ONLY $66 right now during the Christmas in July Sale! I don’t use the Face Oil (it’s a little much for my skin, but my mom ADORES it). I do use and love the other 2 products.
Another product in the sale is their Hair Care Essentials Pack. My sister says it helps with breakage and makes her hair so soft and shiny. She uses the mask everyday just like conditioner, and she puts the oil on before she dries her hair and it makes it so soft. And she says it smells SO GOOD. So yeah, I just ordered it.
Skin Revival Serum Trio / Hair Care Essentials Pack
As you can see below, I love so many of Colleen’s products. And since I pretty much shout my love from the rooftops… now my mom, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, and multiple friends all use Colleen’s products.
Click HERE for my mom’s review of her favorite products and to see a picture of how awesome she looks! (My mom is over 70 and looks FANTASTIC.) She used to not bat an eye at spending serious bucks on skincare. Like, SERIOUS bucks. She felt like her skin was important and it was worth the money to take care of it. However, after my dad retired, she started to become more cautious about the money she was spending, and she was disappointed that her skin wasn’t looking as great as it had in the past. Enter, Colleen. The CR products have revived her skin. And I know for sure that she truly loves these products, because she’s continued to faithfully replenish her CR products AND buy new CR products to try them out for herself because she is THAT IMPRESSED.
So, what about my favorites from the line?
Out of all of the products in the Colleen Rothschild line, the cleansing balm is my favorite product BY FAR.
Not only do I use it to cleanse my face morning and night, I also use it as a type of leave on mask when I’m battling dry skin. If my skin is dry, normal moisturizer tends to just sit on the surface, and my skin won’t absorb it enough to be properly moisturized. But when used as a mask, the cleansing balm hydrates my skin like nothing else can! When dealing with dry patches, I pull my hair back and slather the balm all over my face. I’ll leave it on for as long as possible, and when I take it off, there is a noticeable difference in the texture of my skin. It’s a miracle worker and I cannot recommend it enough. In fact, whenever I go on overnight trips with girlfriends, I always INSIST that they try it. And you know what, they always love it, and they almost always start using it themselves.
This balm has a cult following. It totally changes the taking off your make up game, and I’m telling you, you won’t even dread washing your face at night. I KNOW. That’s a big claim, but I stand behind it. You scoop out a small amount of the balm with dry hands and slather it on your dry face. As you rub it onto your face, the heat from your hands changes the balm into more of an oily texture and it just feels incredibly luxurious. It melts makeup away, leaves your skin feeling amazing, and the light citrus smell is PERFECT.
I’m linking the JUMBO version of the cleansing balm because it is an INCREDIBLE VALUE right now. The normal size version (pictured below) is 3.3 fl. oz is . The jumbo version is 6.8 fl oz, a little more than twice the size, and with the Christmas in July special it’s only $4 more right now!!! WOW! Treat yourself. You will not regret it.
Another one of my favorite products is the eye cream, and it’s almost 30% OFF right now.

I now use my ring finger to ever so delicately dab the eye cream around my eyes. Let’s RESTORE SOME ELASTICITY, ladies! I would definitely say that the skin around my eyes is less puffy and noticeably smoother! I love how this cream is moisturizing and plumping, but it’s not greasy or heavy. Now, I don’t have issues with fine lines around my lips, but Colleen suggests you can use it there too!
If you haven’t tried any Colleen Rothschild products, I highly encourage you to just try 1 thing! I’m confident that you will love it so much that you will definitely try another product, and before you know it, you will have replaced a good portion of your skin care regimen.
Here are some other products I use. They have detailed reviews on the site that are always very helpful to read through, so just click on anything you are interested in!

I have a Target post coming up next week that I’m SUPER excited about. I haven’t grabbed all the links yet, but click HERE for the dress I’ll be featuring (it has EXCELLENT REVIEWS, size down) and click HERE for a top I’ll be featuring with both black pants and jeans. Lots of great jewelry and bags too. These earrings weren’t in my store, but they are so similar to my beloved Gorjana hoops! Anyway, just get ready. The post is going to be good.

FACE APP THAT’S SWEEPING THE NATION
I know everybody and their dog has been doing the grow old face app. (And yes, I know about all of the controversy surrounding it now about the Russians having access to our data, but GMA just told me not to worry, so I’m not. Ha!)
Check out this pic that Chris did of Carter.
I mean, that’s a super stylin’ and ruggedly handsome middle aged man! WE CANNOT STOP LAUGHING!

THE FRINGE BAG EVERYBODY WAS WONDERING ABOUT
When I did my try on session in the Nordstrom dressing room last week, I had a cognac fringe tote hanging in the background. I got soooooooo many messages about it. I think I answered everybody’s messages, but I wanted everybody to know you can find it HERE! I also have it in Wednesday’s post with a black sweater, jeans, and leopard booties.

Amazon Prime Day is over, but if you missed my Amazon Fashion Haul on Monday, you need to go check it out!
Lots of great stuff!

MY INVISALIGN RESULTS
You’re about to see a BEFORE and AFTER picture of my teeth pre and post Invisalign. It’s definitely a favorite of the week! Of the year, actually.
I’m so pleased with the results! To give a little background, after 20 years of not wearing a retainer, my teeth started to move. And as you can see, I developed a rather large gap between my top front two teeth. My bottom teeth had also shifted, but that didn’t bother me enough to do anything about it. But the gap? I couldn’t deal. So I decided to get Invisalign. I was fitted for my trays the first week of March, my treatment plan called for 14 trays, and I fished treatment this week!
I’M SO PUMPED!!!!
I haven’t had my teeth whitened yet (although I was fitted for the bleaching trays and they should arrive next week), but I guess my teeth look so white on the after picture because I took the shot in my car in really bright sunlight. I wish they were that white, but they sadly are not. Hopefully they’ll be even half that white after the bleaching!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Invisalign! And just fyi, to be clear, this isn’t sponsored.

*** NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE: NEW FAVORITES AND ITEMS STILL IN STOCK ***
Okay, people! Time for what many of you have been patiently waiting for.
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally open to everybody! WooHoooooo! IT’S ABOUT DANG TIME, RIGHT?
Today I’m going to highlight NEW ITEMS I’ve found, and I’m going to go ahead and repost favorites that are still available!
Let’s get started…
Y’all sold out the best work pants EVER (in black) on the first day of cardholder access. There are some sizes left in this awesome grey check, but you better hurry!
crew neck sweater / cross body bag / best work pants ever (in a grey check) / black pumps (size down a 1/2)
I’m so happy to have a pair of pants like this in my closet. They look amazing, but feel like pajamas!
The fabric has a nice weight to it, they don’t show wrinkles, and I love the built in belt. AND LADIES. THEY ARE SOOOOOOO INCREDIBLY FLATTERING. I feel like a million bucks in these pants. Oh, and they also have the Ab-solution power mesh panels! The belt is made out of the same stretchy fabric that the pants are, and I love how its presence helps to define my waist.
Let’s talk sizing. Size down for sure. When I first showed these pants I was wearing a 4, but I was able to pull the 4s on without even undoing the little belt or zipper. That’s how stretchy they are. I ordered the 2 Regulars, and that’s what I’m wearing here. I’m 5’4, but have long legs for my height. Those of you under 5’4″ might want to try the petite because there are more petite sizes available.
And in case you need me to say it again, I LOVE THEM. I adore the ankle length, but I don’t think they are high waisted like described. I think they are a perfect mid rise.
And get this, they are ONLY $44.90!!! I seriously cannot believe it.
cross body bag / best work pants ever (in a grey check) / black pumps (size down a 1/2)
I don’t normally shop for heels in the sale, but because of these fabulous pants, I knew I needed to grab some heels this year. THIS CLASSIC BLACK PAIR were at the top of the list. I loved the leopard too, but they only had one 6 1/2 at my store, and they were sold before I could get to them! The pointy toe, the sassy little cut out, and the heel height were just what I was looking for.
Sizing tip: Size DOWN a 1/2 in these. My regular size slipped up and down on my heel when walking. When I went down a 1/2 they definitely felt a bit tight when I put them on, but they should stretch a tiny bit with wear.
This Minkoff cross body bag is a great sale find too!
cross body bag / best work pants ever (in a grey check) / black pumps (size down a 1/2)
NEW FAVORITE FIND
All right, y’all! Are you ready for my new favorite find??? Over the last week I’ve had tons of requests for a pair of non-distressed jeans. WELL I FOUND THEM! And no surprise here, they are Kut from the Kloth! I have to say, they make being their Brand Ambassador SO EASY. I love their denim.
I’m wearing the regular 4s here, but I’m actually going to order both the 4P and 6P to try. I wouldn’t mind them being more of an ankle length, and I’m ordering both sizes because sometimes I have to size up in petites. They are higher waisted, but not too high, and they have just the right amount of stretch. They are VERY flattering and the dark rinse makes them very easy to dress up if you want to.
I highly recommend these jeans if you are looking for a great fitting, super flattering, non-distressed, all around awesome pair of jeans. They are super cute with flats, booties, and tall boots.
I’m wearing my new favorite jeans in the next 4 pictures, but I’m highlighting 4 different tops!
This Madewell button up is definitely oversized, but I happen to love the easy and relaxed fit. The blue color is striking, and you know I always love a check or a plaid. I’m wearing a small in the blouse.
windowpane shirt / tortoise ring belt / jeans/ leopard booties
This convertible neck fleece top is made out of the soft fleecy material that the Gibson brand is known for. IT’S STUPID SOFT. Click HERE for all Gibson pieces in the sale, you definitely need the joggers.
This top can be sassed up and worn off the shoulder (see on the site), but I prefer it wearing it like a cowl neck. It comes in 4 color choices, and I’m wearing a small. The two reviews on the site aren’t great, but I had this top last year and wore it all the time! It’s a great top and incredibly cozy.
convertible neck fleece top / cross body bag / tortoise ring belt / jeans/ leopard booties
I’m wearing the same black crew neck sweater that I highlighted in Wednesday’s post, but I just thought I would show it with my new FAVORITE FIND jeans! I’m wearing a medium in the sweater. Click HERE to see the sweater styled with the distressed jeans and the cropped flare jeans.
crew neck sweater / cross body bag / tortoise ring belt / jeans/ leopard booties
And check out these super fun jackets from Sanctuary! Both are a bit out of my comfort zone, and I probably wouldn’t have ordered them on my own. However, the brand sent them to me, and I think they are great! Click HERE to check out all of the Sanctuary items in the sale.
The jacket on the left is one of the softest pieces of clothing I have ever owned. Chris even oohd and aahd over it.
faux fur jacket (plus size faux fur jacket) / crew neck sweater / tortoise ring belt / jeans/ leopard booties
plaid duster (plus size plaid duster) / crew neck sweater / tortoise ring belt / jeans/ leopard booties
This sweater is really chunky and very warm. And I think it’s fun. And I love a camel sweater. I also love the wide ribbed hem and cuffs.
Sizing Tip: Size down, I am wearing an x-small and it’s still over-sized.
chunky sweater / pave hoop earrings / jeans/ leopard booties
Do you remember it in the colorblock?
chunky colorblock sweater / pave hoop earrings / jeans/ leopard booties
I have no idea how this hooded cardigan didn’t make it in to last week’s post. Pure oversight on my part. It comes in several colors and is SO EASY to throw on and will help you look super cute and put together.
This cardi is super versatile because you can wear it open (like I am here) or you can cinch it in at your waist to give you a bit of shape. I prefer it worn open, but if you have a tiny waist, CINCH IT RIGHT ON UP! Ha! You can even wear it closed with a little knot or bow. I’m wearing a small.
hooded cardigan / white tee/ pave necklace / star earrings / jeans / wedge booties
I continue to get questions on if blardigans can be worn out of the house, and the answer is always HECK YES! You can see it worn casually on the left with sneakers and dressed up on the right with a striped tee and my favorite wedge booties.
I’m wearing an x-small/small in the baby blardigan, and I’m thrilled that there are sizes still available in all 3 colors!
casual outfit on left: baby blardigan / white tee/ pave necklace / jeans / sneakers
dressier outfit on right: baby blardigan / striped tee/ pave necklace / jeans / wedge booties
This color is almost sold out in the sweatshirt, but the grey still looks to be fully stocked! This color of leggings is almost sold out too, but they are still available in black!
If interested in this type of look, I would go for the grey sweatshirt and the black leggings. I’m wearing a medium in the sweatshirt and a small in the leggings.
sweatshirt / crop leggings / sneakers
I’m a big fan of this long sleeve tee! It’s incredibly soft, isn’t body conscious, and it’s breathable and moisture wicking! I’m wearing a medium in the tee (it comes in 3 colors) and a small in the leggings (they come in 4 colors).
Check out all of the Zella still in the sale!
long sleeve tee / crop leggings
Here’s the windowpane shirt again from above, but this time I’ve styled it with some distressed ankle jeans and the studded flats I love!
Madewell windowpane shirt / pave hoop earrings /cognac fringe tote / jeans/ studded mustard flats
FAVORITES THAT YOU’VE ALREADY SEEN THAT ARE STILL IN STOCK!
IMPORTANT TIP: If there’s an item that you really wanted that you missed out on, make sure you check back pretty consistently. Returns are happening all the time, and you might get lucky! If you want to look again at all of my favorite picks, head to my posts last week! Click HERE.
Here are some of the items I just checked out and am thrilled to see still stock in…
I can hardly believe, but besides the olive colorway, there are some sizes left in all the blardigans!
Click HERE for the original post with all my thoughts and sizing information.
baby blardigan / white tee/ pave necklace / jeans / sneakers
Click HERE for the original post with all my thoughts and sizing information.
new blardigan / white tee / star earrings / pave necklace / reptile belt / jeans / perforated booties
This is the original blardigan in all of it’s cozy glory. It has pockets and this waterfall type drape. It also comes in a really dark grey (almost black) and pewter. Click HERE for the original post for all my thoughts and sizing information.
THESE JEANS ARE MY #1 JEAN PICK FROM THE SALE. I LOVE THEM.
They have a great amount of stretch (but they don’t lose their shape during the day), a hint of distressing, and they are a great medium/dark wash. I love the slighty frayed hem and think they look great with booties. They are skinny enough to easily tuck into a tall boot as well. If you are already a KUT lover, you have to try these! (P.S.A.: Pay no attention to the picture of the jeans that are linked. I know for sure I am linking the right jeans because I checked with my KUT contact, but they are not as wide on the bottom as they appear to be on the site.) If you like the jeans I’m wearing, I promise they are linked correctly, just trust me and try them.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Sizing Tip: I’m wearing my regular size 4s, and they are a perfect mid-rise. They come in petite too!
Click HERE for the jeans. They are an incredible value at just UNDER $60 right now!
Size down in this long line cardi (I’m wearing an x-small), but several colors are still well stocked! Click HERE for the original post with all my thoughts.
long line cardi / white tee / star earrings / pave necklace /Ab-solution jeans / black belt with tortoise ring / wedge booties
I’m also floored that some of my shoe picks are still available in popular sizes. There must have been really deep buys in some of these, because I love them and I know y’all will too!
WEDGE BOOTIES – Click HERE for the original post with all my thoughts. I LOVE THESE BOOTIES SO MUCH and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. They are cute, comfy, and totally on trend. I styled them with most of my outfits on my first post.
Sizing tip: size DOWN a 1/2 in these. My color is “Sesame”, but they also come in black, taupe, a darker brown, leopard, and the super popular snake skin! After the sale is over, they will go up to $130, but right now they are under $88!
PERFORATED BOOTIES – Click HERE for the original post with all my thoughts. I think these are so much fun and totally love the perforations. These will work all Fall, on warm winter days, and all the way into Spring.
Sizing tip: size down a 1/2 in these. I got the 37s. Color: Light Brown. They also come in a black, a grey/blue, and an olive. Regularly $140 and on sale for $90!
CLASSIC BLACK PUMPS – Click HERE for the original post with all my thoughts. These are a great pair of classic pumps you will have and wear for years and years.
Sizing tip: Size DOWN a 1/2 in these. My regular size slipped up and down on my heel when walking. When I went down a 1/2 they definitely felt a bit tight when I put them on, but they should stretch a tiny bit with wear.
LEOPARD MULES – Click HERE for the original post with all my thoughts. Originally I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep these, BUT I TOTALLY AM. They’re just too dang cute and seem to be just the right amount of sass.
Sizing tip: size UP a 1/2 in these. In addition to leopard, this mule also comes in mustard and black.
POINTY TOE STUDDED FLAT – Click HERE for the original post with all my thoughts. I think the mustard is going to be so great for fall and add an extra punch of style to so many outfits with both the color and the studs.
AND LADIES. THESE ARE ONLY $59.90 RIGHT NOW! #whoah
Sizing tip: I’m hearing that most people stuck with their regular size, but I sized down a 1/2 in these. I think I would say to stick with your regular size. These great little flats also come in light grey, black, and a great snakeskin (which is HUGE this year).
It’s time again to talk about the SPANX distressed skinny jeans. Listen, nobody is more surprised than me.
And actually, I’m not just going to casually recommend them, I’m going to highly recommend them. If you are somebody that doesn’t enjoy the half tuck, you need to consider these jeans. And if you are somebody that loves wearing long tunics with jeans, these should be a total no brainer for you.
I know that so many bloggers rave about and swear by the SPANX faux leather leggings and I absolutely love the way they look, but since I rarely dress up enough for those, I thought this denim pair would be fun to try.
I mean, I love jeans….and I love leggings…so this is the perfect marriage for me.
Sizing Tips: I’m wearing a medium in the leggings, and it took some effort on my part to get them on, but that could be because I was close to having a heat stroke in the dressing room. Once they were on, they were quite comfortable! I wear a small in Zella leggings for reference…but needed a medium in these.
IMPORTANT: Pay no attention to how they are styled on the Nordstrom site because it is ALL SORTS OF WRONG. I also don’t think the picture on the site is representative of how they actually look. However, if you go to the site and watch the video, I think you will get an accurate picture of the wash and the hem. But again, pay no attention to how the sales associate in the video says to style them “with a chiffon shirt and mules”. No m’am.
Here’s what they look like styled with a long sweater.
I’ll be styling them with long sweaters paired with boots and booties. Let’s remember the rule we learned years ago, ladies: Cover Your Crotchal Areas. It’s a rule to live by.
These babies feel like leggings on, but they look like jeans (if styled appropriately with a long top).
tunic sweater (plus size sweater)/ star earrings /SPANX distressed skinny jeans / wedge bootie
This cozy twist front pullover has been one of my favorite fall and winter tops since last year. Click HERE for all Gibson pieces in the Anniversary Sale. Click HERE for the original post to see all my thoughts and sizing information.
cozy twist front pullover / star earrings / pave necklace / jeans / these leopard mules
This turtleneck sweater is bright, happy, and oh so soft. Click HERE for the original post to see all my thoughts and sizing information.
turtleneck sweater / pave hoop earrings / jeans/ perforated booties
If you don’t have these next two items, FIX THAT RIGHT NOW. Click HERE for the original post with all my thoughts and sizing information.
SERIOUSLY. You MUST try this bra and these undies at these prices. They will change your life. And no, I’m not being dramatic. 9 out of 10 dentists agree. #ijustlaughedoutloudatmyself
The strapless bra that I’ve been raving about for 5 years now and have turned so many of y’all onto……the dark tan color is in the sale!
AND, if you are a Hanky Panky devotee, don’t you worry! My favorite regular rise thongs can be found HERE.
These pajamas are insanely soft, have such a cute fit, and wash like a dream. Click HERE for other pajama choices. Click HERE for my initial review.
People of all ages love THIS BLANKET, and I can personally attest to the fact that it’s one of the softest and most cozy blankets you will ever own. I have 3 throws and have probably given 10 as gifts. You cannot beat the $25.90 price point, and I actually prefer this to the Barefoot Dreams blanket! STOCK UP ON CHRISTMAS PRESENTS, AND YOU WILL BE SO PROUD OF YOURSELF COME DECEMBER.
I get messages like this (that I received yesterday) ALL THE TIME: Last year upon your recommendation I purchased “the best blanket in the world”, well my kids all fight over it. So this year I am ordering them each one for Christmas and some as baby shower gifts and another one for myself too!! Ann. K
If you haven’t tried this blanket yet, I’m going to pretty much insist that you order 1. I would like to insist that you order 5, but go ahead and order 1 today….and then 4 more after you receive the first one. Yes, they are that good.
They make excellent Christmas presents, birthday gifts, wedding gifts, graduation gifts, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, housewarming gifts, etc.
BEAUTY FINDS
The BEAUTY EXCLUSIVES IN THE SALE THIS YEAR are absolutely fantastic. I ran out of time to write about all of the offerings on today’s post, so I would like to encourage you to go and check everything out yourself. There are some really great make up sets and some awesome beauty tools too!
I got this set for myself and am in love with both the lipstick and gloss. These are full size products.
And after seeing THESE BABIES on tons of bloggers, I ordered them for myself last night! The back is like a thick elastic material so they fit super tight which I love! I sized up a 1/2 per the recommendation. I also had a reader tell me this year that she snagged some Frye boots and LOVES them! I hadn’t even seen them this year, and they are so good! They’ve even got a zipper.
$1,000 SPECIAL MAMA GIVEAWAY! NOMINATE YOURSELF OR A FRIEND!
Now that we’ve conquered the sale…let’s get to the giveaway!
We all know that being a mom is HARD! Of course it’s rewarding, wonderful, lovely, and the best thing you’ll ever do…but it’s also really hard. And being the mom of a precious little one with special needs although also rewarding, wonderful, and lovely is extra hard. The doctors appointments, therapy sessions, late nights, early mornings…it’s all hard. While working as a speech therapist in the schools, as well as privately in people’s homes, I had the incredible privilege of seeing these mamas with their children each and every day. They loved their babies so fiercely, and to see the patience and perseverance they demonstrated on a daily basis was inspiring. And the joy they would take in their children’s accomplishments was my favorite thing to see. I cried with many a mama as we would celebrate their kiddo’s milestones together!
I developed a heart for these mamas who gave everything they had to their children and their families. They never really took time for themselves, and they very rarely spent money on themselves. So, with a little nudge from Candace, the idea for these giveaways was born back in 2014! If you are new here and want to read an in-depth account of how the Special Mama giveaway series started, click HERE.
Recognizing and celebrating these VERY SPECIAL moms is hands down my favorite thing I do on the blog all year. If YOU are a special mama or if you know a special mama, all you have to do to enter this giveaway is leave a blog comment with the name of the person you are nominating. You can just leave a name (even if it’s yours! please don’t hesitate to nominate yourself!), or you can leave a type of tribute to your friend. Most special mamas I meet are incredibly inspiring, so I always love reading what their friends and family members have to say about them (although that’s not required). The mamas that nominate themselves often write a little something about their kids….but again, that’s not required.
SO LEAVE YOUR NOMINATIONS IN THE COMMENTS SECTION, AND GOOD LUCK! I’ll announce the winner on Monday and immediately send the winner a gift card so she can get to shopping!!! The prize is a $1,000 gift card to Nordstrom that you can use during the Anniversary Sale! THAT’S RIGHT! ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. UPDATE: To be clear, there are so many deserving mamas out there, but this giveaway is geared only to mom’s of children with special needs.
I just want these super deserving moms to feel appreciated and celebrated! Below you will see the first 3 winning moms. Candace (the inspiration for the contest!), Penny, and Jamie! The first three years it was only open to moms who could get to Dallas to shop, but last year I opened it up to anybody! This year it can be anybody as well! There won’t be a shopping trip with me, but there will still be the $1000 Nordstrom gift card. WooHoo! (I’m thinking next year I might make it local moms again because I have so much fun shopping with them!)
GOSH, I LOVE THESE MAMAS.
Candace / Penny / Jamie
That’s it for today everybody! It was a super long post, so thanks for sticking with me!
Have a wonderful weekend with your people!
Blake says
It feels like I have been waiting so long to shop the sale- looking forward to finally being able to today!
I am hoping to get the new style of blardigan in black (which will bring my total to 4…) and am expecting a baby in December. I feel like the other styles are pretty forgiving, do you feel the same for this style? Or do you think it would be wise to size-up? Thanks!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Blake! I would consider sizing up in this one. It’s not cut as generously! Hope this helps. xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Amy says
I loved how you styled the mustard colored shoes with the top…. in my cart it went. Hoping you share more style tips with the shoes. So cute!

I nominate Maribel Chen!
Barbara says
Hi Sheaffer, I just need to vent about Nordstrom. I know this is in no way your fault, but it’s just so frustrating. I placed an order of six items a half hour after the sale was open for early access to cardholders. SIX days later I was notified that all of the items had been cancelled. No waiting list, no delay, no we will notify you when it’s available, just cancelled. If they had notified me shortly after I placed the order (within 24 hours seems reasonable) I could’ve ordered a replacement in a different color. But since they waited so long everything that I ordered was sold out. I get it – this sale is huge and Nordstrom gets overwhelmed with demand. But they can and should do better. Thanks for letting me vent.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Barbara! First of all, I am SO sorry. I know it is incredibly frustrating, and I 100% agree that you could have tried to place a new order had you been notified sooner. It’s so disappointing you missed out on what you were wanting. I ordered the olive green blardigan for my mom, and it was cancelled. 🙁 My only advice is to stalk the site for returns. I stalk it everyday for the green blardigan. Maybe we’ll get lucky. Again, I’m so so sorry!!! xoxo
Darlene says
Same thing happened to me!! 2 of the things I REALLY wanted were cancelled.
Alison B. says
I nominate my sister, Jennifer M. SPECIAL MOM to a 13 year old son.
Laurie says
My sister Stevy Bailey!
Carol says
My daughter Elisa Schmitz
Grace Wright says
Connie Parham, my beautiful, selfless mother. Love her so much.
Reba Petersen says
I nominate my sister in law, Bethany Gallahair. She has two little boys– one is 6 years and one is 18 months. Her 18 month old was born 9 weeks early with TEFEA- meaning his esophagus wasn’t connected and his trachea would collapse upon breathing. He has endured numerous surgeries and was in the hospital for nearly 5 months, with multiple doctor appointments and out of state visits throughout the year. Bethany is selfless– devoting herself to her kids and I am so proud to call her my sister in law. She is beyond deserving of this prize.

Meghan K.M. says
My 4 year old son had two strokes at 9 months old on Christmas Day, his first Christmas. This past October, on my 40th birthday, he was diagnosed with a rare blood vessel disease, called Moyamoya. The arteries to his brain close from the inside and the outside. It is a progressive, deadly disease, and he received life saving brain surgery in November, for which we are forever grateful. He is the happiest child I know, and goes through all of his treatments and procedures without a complaint. He is a fantastic older brother to our two year old twins and makes us all smile every day!
Mary says
Hi Megan, I just read your comment and was compelled to reach out. I am also the mother of a child with Moyamoya. I know too well how isolating and difficult this journey can be as this disease is so rare and prognosis so uncertain. So happy to say that my son is now 11 and doing beautifully! Thrilled to hear your beautiful boy is doing well.
I am new to Sheaffer told me to… love everything she does. Especially love this unique contest.
I nominate you too!

Well, this made my heart smile. xoxo

Elizabeth Ducote. My darling friend Elizabeth has a daughter with a rare genetic disease. C. was diagnosed at age 3 when she stopped growing. She is now 14 and there is hope that a genetic trial will be held in the next few years. This family has not let this slow them down. Elizabeth always has a smile and never fails to help out when needed. She and her husband are active in the church and community and both C. and her older sister are the smartest, kindest girls with wicked good senses of humor. They find joy in every moment and every day and I admire them so.

I am FINALLY able to buy from the Nordstrom sale today!! YAY!
So I am nominating myself and my friend Stacy Musho b/c together I would like to split the winning Giveaway. She is my right hand Momma who not only stands beside me as a fellow Mom with 3 kids, but a fellow co-worker at the same company and we both champion the volunteer gig on our school PTO Board together. Life isn’t always easy and we often times find ourselves putting everyone else first. It would be nice to take the time to put us in the #1 spot for a change and doing it together would mean more than doing it solo.
Crissy says
I may be too late for the mom of special needs, but incase I am not I wanted to nominate myself. I have two precious adoptive daughters one with special needs. We do not have a clear cut diagnosis, but she struggles with sever food allergies, dyspraxia, complex trauma, ADHD, Sesnsory processing, auditory processing, gross and fine motor difficulties. Thank you so much for having a heart for mom with special needs. It is a very lonely place. Blessings

My sister Sherri Newcomb. She is a single mom and has been fighting cancer since January. Thank goodness she is doing remarkable but has been undergoing chemotheraphy since January as well as a major surgery to remove the cancer. She has done all of this with WARRIOR STRENGTH and a smile. She had to stop working due to all of this and sending her on a shopping spree for a day of FUN AND HAPPY TIMES would fill both of our hearts so deeply.

On top of that Nancy is the Care Ministry Director at our church. She organizes programs, for widows, children of divorce, caregivers of those with chronic illness/disabilities, and many others. Nancy also runs a week long summer camp for children with disabilities through our church.
She does a fantastic job and is a blessing to so many!

And now I bought the Kut jeans in the top of the post. Hope they fit!!
I’d like to nominate by cousin Andrea Erickson. She isn’t his bio mom but she is for sure mom to Jack. Jack has autism. She has a heart for kids and is a teacher now too. The relationship she has with Jack is so special and she would do anything for that little boy. Unfortunately, she cannot have her own children so she truly treasures every moment with Jack. She is getting married very soon and I’d love for her to be able to buy herself some great pieces for the wedding such as a great dress and shoes for the rehearsal. “
Sharon Sykes says
I nominate Amanda Ravetta. Her son Eli has Down’s syndrome and she has created a FB page to educate people about families with DS members. She is brutally honest about the ups and downs but shows how much joy Eli has brought into their home and others’ worlds! She loves to shop and went back to work (was a stay at home momma) so she could pay for all the therapies Eli needs. I know she would love some shopping cash!
P.S. Those PJ’s are legit. Might be my favorite buy from this year’s sale! So comfy and adorable. And I’m not a size 0!

Hi! You’re blog is definitely my favorite. I’ve never asked any questions but I’m interested in the Invisalign. I have a gap like yours that’s starting to appear. How long did this process take? Was it crazy expensive?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Michelle! I started at the beginning of March, and I finished this week. I had 14 trays. Price will be based upon number of trays and insurance (I’m assuming)…but I can tell you that mine was around $4,500. Worth every penny for me, I’m so happy with my teeth now! xoxo

I want to nominate my friend Lori. Lori has a 2 year old with special needs that will need medical intervention for his life, and another sweet darling boy who is an adorable angel at one years old. He speaks with his eyes, and it’s all love.
Despite a hectic life, Lori devotes time to her church and her community, works closely organizing fundraisers for her local volunteer firefighters and is also deeply involved in suicide prevention community services. She’s an inspiration to those who know and love her. She would be so surprised and thankful to receive this wonderful gift!

I would like to nominate my friend Michelle. She is an amazing mom and advocate for her daughter, who was born with Dandy Walker Syndrome.
sarah feddersen says
I want to nominate my friend Tanya.
Tanya is the strongest woman I know. Two years ago she lost her husband to suicide and found herself to be a young widow with two daughters. One of her daughters has special needs and will be at home with Tanya for the rest of her life. She picked up the pieces for herself and her daughters and made sure her oldest daughter had the best senior year possible.
I have watched her heart break saying goodbye – to a husband, to a daughter going off to college and to a house that no longer felt like home. She gives everything to her girls as well as shines a light on the mental stress that our first responders go through. No one is more deserving!!! I know both of her girls would agree and what a blessing it would be to have a new wardrobe to help bring some joy to her life. 🙂

Laura Sorg says
I would like to nominate Kristi Mitchell.
Kristi is an amazing mom of two kids, including her daughter, Amelia, who has special needs (a rare syndrome).
Kristi has been through so much.
First, as a military wife.
Then, losing her husband, a fighter jet pilot, in a military operation.
Then, her son Brayden battled cancer.

Erin Garcia says
So many deserving mamas! I’m going to nominate myself. My 3 year old was diagnosed last year as Deaf/Hard of Hearing. She lost her hearing around her first birthday as the result of a virus (CMV) I got while pregnant. Over the last 18 months she has gone from hearing aids to a Cochlear implant and I’ve been taking her to 7 therapies a week. She is doing amazing and it’s all worth it but it’s HARD. This week we found out she also needs glasses. I also have an almost 5 year old who is empathetic and the most amazing big sister, but she definitely feels the stress our family has been under. Retail therapy for all of us 😉
Wendy says
Whats the upkeep after Invisalign? Do you have a permanent retainer, traditional retainers to wear at night, extra aligners? I am half way through my Invisalign treatment and am curious how they handled your process at the end to keep the teeth in place. Your results look great!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Wendy! I’ve been fit for retainers (clear like the invisalign trays) that I’m supposed to wear just like the trays at first. After a predetermined amount of time, then you just wear the retainers at night! xoxo
April K says
Thanks for your heart for kids with special needs and the mamas who care for them! I would like to nominate myself. I have a 12 year old daughter who has Spina Bifida and a 10 year old son. I’m local to you, so if I win maybe we can shop together! Ha!
Lauren L says
I nominate Sarah Reyes as special needs mama! She is a determined and selfless advocate for her daughter, Hayden who has Dravet Syndrome (a genetic seizure disorder). Sarah was babysitter and nanny to our kids when she was younger and it’s been amazing and awe-inspiring to see her as a mother to her own daughter with a serious medical condition. Sarah is expecting baby #2 soon. You can learn more about her story – HappilyHayden on Facebook
Callie says
You’re teeth look amazing Sheaffer!!!! Would you mind sharing how much the Invisalign process cost? Of course every case is different, but it would be so helpful
to have a ballpark idea based on your before/after! Thank you!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Callie! Mine was right around $4500. I’m sure it’s based on number of trays length of treatment, but that was my experience! xoxo
Kari says
I nominate myself! I have two beautiful boys. My oldest has ADHD and OCD. My youngest has CHD?. I think we can all agree being a mom is HARD work but so rewarding!
Also, I just scored two Bliss Plush Throws during the Anniversary Sale and got another $10 off with Nordstrom Notes. Eek! Thank you Sheaffer for sharing all the great deals!
Katie Smith says
Hey, Sheaffer!!
Thanks for all you do for keeping us looking nice, and finding great deals.
Most of all thank you for this giveaway for deserving selfless mom’s of special needs kiddos.
I want to nominate my best Friend Christine Harris!!!
She has a handsome little guy with sever autism and she, He and her little girl are such a blessing!! She was my first true best friend and we still are bffs 20 years later thanks to the Good Lord and my dad’s hard nudge. I had to change schools middle of my sophomore year high school. That was tough and scary. Christine was the very best friend that a girl could ever ask for and still is today!! She taught me about real friendship!!!
Now it is a blessing to see her so amazingly parent her beautiful children. She works hard and does not get much “me” time for herself. We live 5 hours apart now. Which stinks, but we are still stuck together like glue. She is one of the most caring and selfless people I have ever met! ❤️ Thanks Sheaffer!!!

I am almost 70 and am interested in Colleen Rothschild’s skin care line. I’ve watched several videos but am not sure the best products for older skin. I also deal with a lot of redness in my skin. What products should I use and what order would I use them? Thank you!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Jacki! My mom is over 70 and swears by them. In today’s post I actually have a link to a post where she talked about her favorite products!!!! xoxo
Sherry Kenney says
Your Invisalign results look so great! Did you feel like the trays were very noticeable or affected your speech? Thanks!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Sherry! I didn’t feel like they affected my speech that much (only really on /s/ and /sh/, and really not badly) and they aren’t that noticeable. I mean, of course you notice them, but I would do it all again in a heartbeat! I’ve had them on in all of my pictures since March!!!!!!
Christina Burrell says
One of my Best Friend’s Elizabeth Chastain, is so deserving of the pampering! She has two teenage sons with autism (one is high functioning, the other is severe and requires constant supervision and help). She is such a loving mama and invests time and resources in both boys and she is so kind and loving to everyone she meets. She fights hard battles daily that no one else sees. She is simply amazing.
Alicia Watson says
I nominate Martha Kosel. She even nominated one for her friend’s a few years ago (who won) and would never thinks of nominating herself. She works tirelessly for her darling three boys. Her middle son has cerebral palsy and now she is navigating additional battles for her oldest who was diagnosed with autism. Her schedule is filled with doctors and therapy appointments for both boys and also helping them(along with her third) balance a life of “normal activities” (like camps and karate). I could go on for pages about her crazy schedule and how many battles she fights to help her boys live their best life, but what speaks most about her is I know if I called and needed help she would drop everything and come help. She is constantly inviting extra kids over when she sees a mom needs a break, or inviting a dad and his kids over for dinner if the wife is out of town. She takes dinners to elderly neighbors and visits with them so they feel valued. She always puts everyone else first, and if if she won I know she would feel someone else deserved it more. It is an honor to nominate her and an even bigger honor to call her my friend for the past 40 years!
Susan says
What lipstick are you wearing in your Invisalign photos? Is it the Bobbi Brown one? It looks perfect (and so do your teeth!)
Sheaffer says
Thank you, Susan! And yes, it’s the one from the Anniversary Sale Set!

I nominate my dear friend Marian DeMott, who is a mom of four, one of whom suffers from cystic fibrosis, a fatal disease affecting the lungs and digestive tract. In addition to all of the mom-of-four duties that take a lot of time, she is super vigilant about her son’s medical appointments, literally dozens of medicines, and breathing/lung treatments two or three times per day. In addition, she suffers from Graves disease and ongoing struggles from thyroid cancer, and her father was recently diagnosed with stage IV cancer, which has taken a lot of her time. Through all this, she does not complain, but rests firmly on her faith, and plows ahead. This gift card would be fantastic for her! Thank you for offering!

I nominate KB, a special needs mom to a bright, brave, optimistic and inspiring little 5 year old girl who faces obstacles daily with such a positive and courageous attitude. She is a bright light in this world and brings joy to everyone she meets. A blessing to all who know and love her. Thank you for recognizing these extraordinary mothers and children!
Susan Hayes says
I nominate Sarena Edwards! She is a single mom of twin girls, one of which has Down Syndrome. She is a middle school counselor who loves children! She puts her girls needs before her own and spends countless hours navigating the medical benefits system to ensure her daughter is getting the therapy she deserves. Sarena is a fierce advocate for all children but especially those with disabilities. She so deserves a little pampering and what a great back to school gift this would be!!

I nominate Patty C. She is a single mom to a beautiful 8 year old daughter who has Downs Syndrome and autism. I have had the joy of getting to know Patty and her daughter as an instructional aide in her classroom. Patty is a constant warrior for her daughter and tirelessly fights for the services her daughter needs.
Julie Borowitz says
What a blessing this shopping spree would be to my friend Danielle. She was my neighbor for over 5 years, and even after her numerous moves across the big state of Texas, we have remained very close friends. She is Superwoman. NO ONE deserves this more than Danielle. She has a beautiful, kind special needs 18-year-old daughter named Grace. Danielle has two other daughters as well, went back to school to get a degree, and has moved 4 times in the last 6 years due to her husband’s job (you know how hard this is on a mama’s heart because it is so difficult on a special needs child in new surroundings.) Danielle and her husband have never relied on the state for one penny, even though Grace can never be left alone, was not able to be potty-trained until her teens, and received lots of physical and occupational therapy. Danielle has worked tirelessly to provide for Grace. She even raised money for a very expensive special needs stroller in order to push Grace in the Marines’ Marathon in Washington, DC. I TOLD YOU SHE IS SUPERWOMAN! There are a million ways that I could brag on Danielle and her husband, but I will keep this short. Thanks for what you are doing for these special moms with precious special needs kiddos!
Jennifer Windscheffel says
I would like to nominate my friend AnaLisa Crandall a/k/a Supermom. She is the mother of four children and her oldest daughter has Rhett Syndrome, one of the cruelest childhood diseases impacting primarily little girls. Babies with this disease are born after normal pregnancy with symptoms progressing at 18 months. AnaLisa fights non stop on behalf her daughter with insurance companies and for other opportunities. Her daughter recently participated in a ballet with her wheelchair and AnaLisa’s help and she raises money to help find a cure for this
terrible disease. Another of her 3 boys is on the
spectrum as well and she also advocates on his behalf. She always has a smile for everyone and never loses her faith in God or her Savior Jesus Christ. She is so deserving!
Sharon Anderson says
I’d love to nominate Melissa Snyder, a mom to 3 boys—one who has Down’s syndrome (he’s around 20-22 years old now) and she does sooo much for him. He is a sweetheart, and so is Melissa. Very deserving! Thx! 🙂

I’ve been back and forth since Friday if I was going to do this or not, and I finally said why not. I am selfishly nominating myself. It all started 10 years ago when I went into the hospital with my baby girl at 22wks. While in the hospital the sitter my then 12 month old went to recommend we have him screened for Early Steps because he was behind in gross motor skills. I went into the hospital after his birthday so we hadn’t been to his 12m check up with his pediatrician. I had my daughter at 25wks. After I returned home we had my son screened and he started his weekly therapy. 97 days after my daughter was born and she was released she started her weekly therapy as well. Fast forward to around my son’s 3rd birthday my daughter was finished with her therapy and is now a healthy 10yr old. That was when my son was diagnosed as Autistic. He is now 11 but remains in a self contained classroom and in therapy. Then 3 years ago at the age of 40 I went though a career change and am now a teacher. The school district I work for has several Title 1 schools where over 95% of the population quality for free lunch. I work at one of those schools. At the beginning of last year we were only 2 points from no longer being considered an F school. We have not received our official grade for last school year but we believe after much hard work we will no longer be an F school. Between my kids at school and my son I am mentally exhausted daily. However, I wouldn’t change a thing. I love making a difference in my students lives. At home even through all the frustrations I couldn’t imagine my life without my baby boy.
Thank you for doing this! So many deserving moms out there!!

Well I read about this amazing giveaway you do for special needs moms on Candace’s fb page. So many people love that gal – me included! And this giveaway is so much appreciated! Thank you!!
Although I would nominate myself as I have a 10 yr old son with autism and homeschool him, stay exhausted and on the go with therapies, tutoring, swim lessons, etc, etc, there are so many deserving moms on here that sound like they have an even harder road than I do. So I really think of Nagla Moussa who is a super deserving mom of an adult son with autism. She has led the organization, NAANT, for years and is now a consultant helping parents as a school advocate during IEP meetings, etc. She also served on some kind of state board/committee for disabilities. She was the first mom to really welcome me and introduce me to the autism community in N TX when we moved here 5 years ago. So for her, I am forever grateful. I am just one of hundreds she has helped along this autism journey. A newly single parent, she is carrying the full load in continuing to help her adult son with autism live as independently as possible.

Your special mom giveaway is my FAVORITE thing you do!!!!

I would like to nominate my cousin, Laura Crouch. Laura has a 16 year old who has cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. Her daughter can’t swallow, so instead of a feeding tube, Laura and her mom make her food (a special recipe that has enough consistency to give her the liquid she needs) and feeds her every few hours. Laura is a rock star but never has a break in the day.
Meredith says
I nominate Krystal Johnson – a beautiful, faithful mama to 6 children all under the age of 12. Her oldest son has special needs, and last week she was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer and is in the fight of her life. I believe this would really lift her spirits!

I want to nominate my dear friend Francheska Medina. She is a huge advocate for all our families on the autism journey. She has an 8 year old son on the spectrum who is non verbal and severe.
