I will also have lots of pictures of me trying on some clothes that you haven’t seen yet.
I don’t think I’ve ever taken so much time to shop for, write, and prepare for a post as I have Friday’s post.
So, don’t go shopping by yourself, that’s no fun!
Throw on your pajamas, grab a cup of hot chocolate, and plop yourself down on the couch and we will go shopping together!
My beloved wedge boots went on sale for 40% off and a reader let me know about them late Saturday night. I put them on facebook on Sunday afternoon, and then I put them on the blog Monday and Tuesday…but Tuesday morning I got a facebook message from a reader that they were all sold out. I didn’t believe it (because they had all sizes just the night before), so I called the 1-800 number to confirm, and they confirmed that they must be sold out.
So, imagine my surprise when they appeared on the website again Tuesday night!
I posted them on facebook again last night, and within like 2 minutes my friend Andrea had thrown a graphic together. This girl makes me laugh like no other.
Ryan has a message for everybody.

Okay, time for our month in review girls!
November was a GREAT month. In fact, I’m thinking it was my very favorite blog month so far! Only portions of some of the posts are going to appear on today’s post, but all of them will have links to the original post if you want to see more!
NOVEMBER 4th
So…..
I felt it was my civic responsibility to find a “GOOD QUALITY PAIR OF
LEGGINGS”.
leggings are a nice OPAQUE black and do not become too thin or sheer
when put on. The material doesn’t sag or bunch, and they hug my body
perfectly without being too tight. The “ultra wide” waistband puts the
leggings into the PERFECT category for me. It hugs my tummy without
being constricting and they are SO comfortable. I am 5’4″, a size 4 in
pants, and the size SMALL was perfect for me. They were a couple of
inches too long, but I plan on only wearing them with boots, so I didn’t
mind just folding them up. (And I think this is a good thing for
taller ladies!)
I want to kick off my weekend with Shopping with Sheaffer and Shay!
Remember to check out Shay’s post HERE. She went to GAP and CLEANED HOUSE.
True to form, I’m sticking to Nordstrom today.
But don’t worry, I cleaned house too.
My first BIG find of the day .
The Blardigan found HERE.
Look at Shay nuzzling it in the mall food court.
If you missed it earlier, you have to click HERE to read all about it.
Seriously, click HERE to read about this FABULOUS item if you missed it earlier.
If you don’t need it (please note I think you’re crazy), but some lucky lady on your Christmas list probably does!
While in the pajama department, I saw this pajama set and had to try them on.
PJ Salvage print pajamas HERE / plus size PJ Salvage pajamas HERE
The reviews for PJ Salvage are wonderful.
I sized down. I am wearing an x-small and they were perfect for me.
I also tried on some Kut from the Kloth cords.
camisole HERE
Kut from the Kloth Mia toothpick skinny cords HERE
Stella and Dot Sanibel pendant
These cords
are AMAZING.
NOVEMBER 11th:
Christmas is 45 Days Away, But Don’t Worry!
I had 2 Santa Alerts on this day.
My favorite colors are the antique gold, blonde tortoise, tiger’s eye, and hot pink.
I LOVE the necklaces and the bracelets (but I’m not really a fan of the earrings).
And here’s my 2nd Santa Alert of the day.
It’s SO FUN!
red velvet lip scrub HERE
I’m going to give you a great option for something festive to wear this holiday season.
HOW CUTE IS THIS SHIRT ?!?
I’m
not sure if you can tell in the picture, but the front of it is sheer
and I’m wearing a nude/camel colored cami under it. It’s t-shirt
material, and it zips up the side for a nice details.
Also, I like how
the back is solid red.
I wore it with my MUST HAVE jeans (similar pair HERE) and my cognac wedge boots HERE.

mixed woven nepal boot HERE
had my eye on this coat for several months. The collar is my FAVORITE
part!
Click HERE for the black peacoat.
Or you can click HERE to shop all women’s coats.
because wearing leggings to Thanksgiving this year is happening FO SHO.
It’s safe to say that all of you girls are just as obsessed with your new leggings as I am.
However, even though I received TONS of “I AM IN LOVE WITH MY LEGGINGS”
e-mails, I also received plenty of “WHAT THE HECK DO I WEAR WITH MY
LEGGINGS NOW THAT I HAVE THEM?” e-mails.
I’ve got this ladies.
And guess what?!? Mr. Gosling decided to drop by again today with a message:
Yes, my friend Andrea is responsible for the above awesomeness.
Don’t you wish your friend was as funny and creative as mine? 😉
I mean, “adorable hiney”. Hilarious.
The first 3 pictures you are all of the same knit tunic, just in different colorways.
And it’s my favorite.
It is SO flattering (and let’s just be honest here: if something is flattering, I BUY IT)…
and it looks awesome with the leggings.
I feel like I need a drum roll or something.
I think I’m going to have to get the solid black one HERE. Yes. I do love AND NEED the solid black one. It’s going to be so cute with my new grey leggings and my cognac boots!
Check out this one!!!
I was wearing a small in this picture, only
because they didn’t have a medium. I know I would like the medium
better for a more generous fit.
Click HERE for the cowl neck tunic that comes in 4 colors!
COZY AND CASUAL…YET TOTALLY POLISHED!
Next up, a PERFECT cardigan to pair with leggings.
It’s lightweight, it has a cute little hood, it comes in 7 colors, and it is the PERFECT length!
Long cardigan HERE (which is now on my My Christmas List!)
This
t-shirt is long enough for me to wear with leggings, but if you are
over 5’4″ or have a long torso, it probably won’t be long enough for
leggings for you. I love it with my skinny jeans too!
For size reference, I’m wearing a small in both the t-shirt and the cardigan.
If you saw the blog on Wednesday, you know I featured Shay’s mom in her MUST HAVE leggings!
Yes. She’s Gorgeous. And yes. She really is Shay’s mom (and not her sister!).
I thought she did a perfect job of showing you how a woman over 50 can
wear leggings (she even convinced my mom yesterday to try it for
herself!).
So, I decided to show us side by side in our outfits.
I’m a total copy cat.
Leggings at 30-ish :), and leggings at 50-ish :).
Same leggings…Same sweatshirt tunic.
And I think both of us look put together and perfectly age appropriate!
Click HERE for the sweatshirt tunic
Have you heard of Muk Luks?
No? I hadn’t either.
But now that I know about them, I feel as if my life is going to be better because of them.
I’m not kidding when I say these house shoes are seriously going to improve my quality of life.
(Listen, I get that I sometimes have a flare for the dramatic….or so my hubby says…but I’m not being dramatic…..these house shoes really are amazing!)
Okay. Maybe the love note is a little dramatic.
Click HERE and take as long as you need to totally appreciate the CUTENESS.
They are brand new to Nordstrom, so there aren’t any online reviews yet….but you don’t need them.
Here’s my official review, the only review you need:
BEST FLIPPING HOUSE SHOE EVER.
If you still need a minute to bask in the darlingness of the above, I get it.
But, when you are ready, let’s move on.
You all went CRAZY on Friday for the tunic below.
I don’t blame you one bit.
It’s pretty freaking awesome.
Click HERE for all solid colors and color combos.
And if you don’t have the MUST HAVE leggings yet, click HERE.
I have them in black and grey.
{Click HERE for original post.}
I have a very important public service announcement today.
Actually, I don’t have the message.
Pinterest is the one with the message.
I’m just helping her get the word out.
Pinterest isn’t just telling you to get a military jacket, she’s practically BEGGING you to.
Look at all of the lovely military jacket inspiration she has to offer.
I found a little bit of inspiration for an outfit recreation, and I came pretty close in the picture below!
Striped Sweater| HERE
I LOVE this sweater and it is 50% off right now! It is SO soft, and it fits so cute!
AND IT’S STRIPES.
Military Jacket| Nordstrom, last year
MUST HAVE jeans| HERE
If you haven’t bought these jeans yet, well then shame on you! 😉
TOMS wedges| HERE
I am LOVING these wedges sooooooo much. They are crazy comfy and super cute!
This is a great option at only $59, and it comes in a faded black also.
If you are looking for a classic and simple look, this could be your
jacket. I love that you can still gather the waist in if you wish.
d) Lily Aldridge HERE
also comes in Navy
Click HERE for another picture of the Rubbish jacket on the left.
It’s buttoned up, cinched in at the waist, and styled differently and I like it even better!
Ooh! Look at THIS one I found! Click HERE.
I’m not typically a fan of the vest, but Shay in her super cute puffer vest is starting to sway me! I am loving this one. Click HERE.
And it’s only $48!
WE are obseesed with:
THE BLARDIGAN!
Click HERE for a little piece of heaven on earth.
It started out as my obsession, but you ladies have quickly rocketed to the obsession category also.
Yep, you are now ALL officially CUCKOO for it.
And listen, if you haven’t tried it on for yourself, then we don’t expect you to understand.
I’m not kidding when I say I’ve probably received no less than 30
e-mails about the blardigan over the last several weeks, but this one
that I received Wednesday has to be my absolute favorite.
Here’s the e-mail:
Sheaffer
Oh.Em.Gee. I just got my blardigan and I don’t think I will ever take
it off. I’m not kidding. I’ll wear it to work, church, the gym, I’ll
sleep in it, and I’m trying to figure out how I can shower in it.
I’m in love.
And yes, those are a pair of the must-have jeans. Duh. Never shopped at Nordstrom until you.
PS. I’m 5’2″ and the length is great! Love it!!
Stephanie
Stephanie, I UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM.
Never taking it off sounds like a plan to me.
(If you haven’t ordered this yet, I’ve got some advice. I really think
that if you plan on wearing this out of the house, WHICH YOU TOTALLY
SHOULD, then the ombre is probably the choice that is the most “street
ready”. But the cocoa and midnight should also be fine.)
blardigan, click HERE.
And remember, I
have received several comments from people that already had the
blardigan, and they say it washes wonderfully!!! WooHoo!
I think this would be such an amazing gift to give, which is why I put it as a Santa Alert HERE.
Every time your loved one wraps up in it they will say a prayer thanking the good Lord above for both the blardigan and for you.
Now THAT’S a good present.

I have 2 more Santa Alerts for you today!
The first one is something that I’ve been talking about since July. NO KIDDING. Since July.
It’s the MUST HAVE shirt.
You guys, this shirt would make the PERFECT gift for your mom, your sister,
your mother in law, etc.
It’s roomy, so the size is kind of approximate and you need to make sure you SIZE DOWN.
I’m normally a small and I take an x-small in this shirt.
(Everybody that has it agrees to size down).
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the black.
It truly is MY FAVORITE SHIRT I HAVE EVER OWNED.
No lie.
Click HERE for the MUST HAVE shirt.
And if you give it to somebody, attach a gift tag to it to make it that much more fun to give!
My 2nd Santa Alert today is for something I saw online and ordered immediately.
Click HERE for the leopard scarf.
Yes, it’s awesome.
Click HERE for all of my Santa Alerts in one place!
Here is my top pick:
See you back here on Friday!
I’m telling you, it’s going to be EPIC!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂

Woo-hoo! November WAS a good month! I have the HUE leggings….think I need that color block tunic. Although, I am tall, but wear a small….hope it still covers my crotchal area 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I will never remember this as November 2013…in my head, it will always be Leggings Month. Seriously. The leggings this month rocked my little world! I feel like all we did for 30 days straight was talk about how fabulous these leggings are, I think I wore them 30 days in a row and we said the phrase "crotchal area" about 5000 times. It was a great month! 🙂 I can't wait for our 12 Days of Christmas!!! It's going to be EPIC!
TLP says
Hi! I am interested in buying hunter boots for Black Friday/cyber Monday. Any idea where I can find them on sale? Nordstrom? I figured I would ask since you are THE expert on these boots. Thanks!!
SarahN says
How early will your Black Friday post go up? Some of us may want to view/shop your post before we hit the stores! 🙂 just curious….
Also, "crotchal" has become a normal word in my house. You mean it's not in the dictionary?!
April Parrish says
Yes, it has been a great month over here!!!! You really came through for us ladies with lots of ideas for our leggings! Super excited about Black Friday!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Kim S. says
Just stumbled across your blog last month and I am officially obsessed! (Especially love when Ryan stops by with his fashion advice.) Already bought the must have shirt, scarf, leggings, jeans, and boots! I can't wait to see the Friday post but my wallet is very frightened right now.
Aubrey Seely says
I got the boots! After you said they were sold out I was determined and the nice Nordstrom girl helped me find a pair in New Jersey of all places! Shipped for free to Cali 🙂 I love your blog and cannot wait for Black Friday, headed to San Fran but will have my iPad and card ready to shop!
Carroll says
I'm so relieved you are taking care of us for Black Friday and Cyber Monday!! Now I know I will be finding out about the cutest deals! I recently purchased the nude flats and the amazing leggings and they are so fabulous!! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🙂
Sabrina says
Well I love leggings. And I want those pajamas. And this month was FAB!!! To all the girls on here—may the force be with you on Friday!!! Let's all shop til we drop!! 🙂
Tiffany {A Touch of Grace} says
I am so excited for the 12 days of Christmas I can't stand it! This WAS a really good month. So many fabulous things, especially the leggings. And I got my mom a tunic for Christmas (the plain black Caslon knit one) because she's really not good at covering her crotchal area. She'll learn.

Love reading your blog. My husband is travelling to the States next week and I'm sending him to Nordstrom to pick up some must have jeans (hopefully). I'm going to do all the work for him, so it'll be super easy 😉 I accidentally typed in nordstrom.ca instead of .com as most Canadian sites use the .ca. To my surprise there are 5 new Nordstroms opening in Canada in 2014!! Yay! 2 of them are within an hour of where I live…but even better is I'm sure the online shopping will be just as great. I'm so excited. Here's hoping they will carry the same stuff we can find on the American sites.

Thought you would want to know that Emily Maynard ALSO posted about leggings this week – and how they are not tights! You are in good company :).

Oh goodie! Can't wait for those Black Friday deals! I don't go out into the mall at all, ever on Black Friday. It's a PJ shopping day for this girl!
