Reader Requests!

TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!  Per Carter’s request, we are going to the Moviehouse and Eatery for lunch and to see Godzilla.  I’m not super pumped about Godzilla, but I AM pumped about their soft pretzels with a side of their cheese sauce.  OMG.  They are incredible.

Let’s get right to today’s post!  A couple of weeks ago I asked ya’ll on instagram stories to sound off on the retailers that y’all wanted to see on the blog.  I left it open and said you could request to keep seeing retailers I already highlight, or you could recommend new retailers that I don’t typically shop.  Y’all have strong opinions, and I love it.  Lots of you weighed in, and I picked a handful of the retailers to feature  today.

“Nordstrom!!!!” was still the runaway winner by far.  Y’all feel like the customer service, the free shipping, and the expedited shipping options can’t be matched….and you’re right.  But today I’m going to highlight the following super budget friendly options that kept popping up over and over:  Old Navy, Target, and Walmart!  I also received lots of LOFT requests, so I’ve got a handful of items from them as well!  Other requests that I’ll feature in future posts:  Anthropologie, Gap, J Crew Factory, Athleta, and American Eagle.

TARGET

Let’s jump right in with Target!

I ordered 5 items from Target…3 dresses and 2 swimsuits.  Two of the dresses didn’t fit me quite right, BUT I’M IN LOVE WITH THIS ONE.  First of all, the quality is excellent and it has excellent reviews.  It’s 100% cotton and thicker than I imagined, but it’s not hot or heavy.  I adore the swingy fit and know that I will be reaching for this little number all the time. It’s one of those pieces that you can just throw on and go (and look totally put together)! I’m wearing a small.

The above dress is from the WHO WHAT WEAR line, and I encourage you to go check it out!  The line is totally chic and obviously affordable.  Here are some of my favorites:

 

Both swimsuits are DARLING, but only the black strapless one worked on me.  I love the ruffle on top and the ruching all the way down the tummy area.  There wasn’t quite enough coverage for the girls in the cheetah print, but it sure was cute!  Look at those little side ties and the adorable back!

WALMART

All right.  I know if I had not named the retailer above there is NO WAY you would have guessed that these absolutely adorable items are from Walmart.  CUE THE SHOCK AND AWE.  I have a post comping up next week with Walmart, but I couldn’t wait to show the below items off!

The wedges are the Circus by Sam Edelman brand and they are legit.  Regularly $70, they are on sale right now for $33.25.  And everything else in the collage is UNDER $30!  Click HERE to see me wearing the flat sandals in several outfits.  Both pairs of sandals are true to size.

OLD NAVY

Okay, ladies.  Old Navy is one of those places that is totally hit or miss for me.  I haven’t ordered anything from them in probably around 2 years because the last several times I either went in the store or ordered online, everything was a miss.

BUT RIGHT NOW IT IS A BIT OL’ HIT!  I ordered a handful of items, and I’m showing every single one of them today because I LOVED it all.

First up, these absolutely DARLING shorts!  They are pull on with an elastic waist and this cute little tie in front.  I am totally obsessed and wish they had this exact style in lots of other colors and patterns.  I show a couple more of these pull on shorts later in the post, but these are my favorite.  I think shorts like this can lean towards the pajama look, but not these.  I ordered a small and a medium, but I preferred the super comfy fit of the mediums.

My Madewell tee that I’m wearing above is several years old and not in the best shape anymore, so I didn’t think it looked great with the shorts without the jacket.  But I thought this eyelet top was a cute pairing, and it’s 40% OFF right now (not from Old Navy).  I’m wearing a small.

Okay one more picture with these shorts, and then I promise we are moving on.  Do you remember how I said my Madewell tee didn’t look great with these shorts because it had become a little ratty over the years?  Well, my brand new Walmart tee looked great with them!  I’m wearing a medium.

MOVING ON!

Y’all know I love the fit of a peasant blouse, and this one did not disappoint.  The floral print is gorgeous, and I absolutely love the vibrant colors. The little gathers at the neck and the sleeves are such nice details too. I’m wearing a medium, but I’m going to exchange for a small for sure. The medium was a little too billowy.

Another Old Navy hit is this eyelet sleeve tee .  It comes in several colors, but I was drawn to this gorgeous purple, even though I’m not normally a purple girl.  I’m wearing a small in this tee, and it’s a relaxed fit.  I love tees that are a little special, and the sleeves definitely qualify this as special!

Y’all know I grabbed this tee because online it looked like it was going to be my favorite color green, and it is!  AND IT’S ONLY $12.99!

This tee is much more fitted than the tee above, and I’m wearing (and needed) a medium.  And do you see that super cute tote?  It’s not from Old Navy.

Wait for it.

It’s from Walmart.  #shockandaweagain

Here’s where it get’s confusing.  The link takes you to a picture of a multicolor stripe tote, but you will see that the description says “actual color, navy stripe.”  When I ordered this, I thought I was ordering the multicolor, but then this arrived.  I would have loved the multicolor, but this one is super cute too!  It is very well made with real leather handles, and I cannot believe the price.

Okay, last but certainly not least….this precious little gingham shirt!  The pattern, the neckline, and the little flutter sleeves are all super cute.  I’m wearing a small, but I need to size up to a medium in this one.

LOFT

Moving on to LOFT!  I used to shop at LOFT all the time (and still love it), but since I haven’t featured LOFT in a bit, it kept on coming up in reader requests!  I was obviously more than happy to oblige.

Florals are having another moment this season, and I thought this floral tee was super cute and feminine.  The sleeves have tiny little gathers at the shoulder, and I love the neckline.  It’s 40% OFF right now, no code needed.  I’m wearing a small.  And ladies, the shorts are from Walmart and ring in at just under $14. #shock #awe

This sweet little dress has tiny pleats at the neckline and a flouncy little ruffle at the hem.  My pictures don’t do the colors justice (the lighting was horrible when I was taking these shots because it was pouring outside), but the bright pink bouquets on this dress are gorgeous!  I’m wearing a medium in the dress, but I need a small.

With the kimono trend being so hot right now, you know I needed to try another kimono!  I loved this one.  I’m wearing the x-small/small.

These grey floral drawstring shorts are another super comfy pair of really cute shorts!  I accessorized with big earrings and a necklace to make very sure the shorts didn’t lean too pajama-ish.  I’m wearing a small in the shorts.

These striped drawstring shorts are ones that I think lean a little pajama-ish.  If you click over to the site, the model is wearing the shorts with a sleeveless sweater and they look wayyyyy less pajama like with the different top.

I got several requests from y’all to highlight Nordstrom Rack more often.  Featuring items from Nordstrom Rack in styled posts is difficult because the items are typically low stock and sell out quickly (and would often be gone by the time I got pictures and a post together after ordering something myself).  However, I can definitely start doing a better job of checking over there more regularly and highlighting items I find with their stock pictures.

Check out these dresses!  I love the THML brand and own several of their pieces.  They carried the brand at Nordstrom last year, but it looks like now that only the Rack carries them (and for great prices)!

This baby doll dress was one of the items suggested to me by Amazon.  It’s casual, comfy, and cute!  I ordered in both the small and the medium.  I definitely needed the medium in the chest (and it’s the size I’m wearing below), but I think a small would have been more flattering everywhere else.
