You probably suspect this, but we are a force to be reckoned with at the mall.
Especially when none of our children are there slowing us down. 🙂
We shop like it’s our job, and we eat Tin Star tacos like nobody’s business.
We try on things, we show things to each other, we “ooh” and “ahh”. We repeat. It’s so much fun.
You also need to make sure you check out her Meal Planning Monday posts HERE!
LOTS TO GET TO TODAY, SO LET’S JUST DIVE RIGHT IN!
We started at Nordstrom like we always do!
For size reference, I am wearing a small in the t-shirt. This t-shirt is crazy soft, I loved the color, it fit close without being too tight, and it was longer in the back than it was in the front.
I ADORED this t-shirt.
Similar graphic t-shirts by the same maker HERE.
ARE YOU GUYS DYING OVER THIS SCARF?
It’s an infinity scarf, and I went crazy over the cute fringies hanging off of it. It totally styles itself (I didn’t have to mess with it at all, just wrapped it around my neck twice). It would up the cute factor of any outfit! It comes in 5 colors, but my favorite was this taupe.
I am REALLY loving how these are a lighter wash than the other
MUST HAVE jeans I already have.
I would go on and on about my obsession with both the jeans and wedges, but I’m hoping you guys already know that I love them in a crazy way.
I know all I had on here was jeans, a t-shirt, and a scarf…
but I absolutely LOVED all 3 pieces.
Worn together I thought the outfit looked “cool” and “vintage”.
This scarf is awesome. I love how it’s full without being bulky!
Speaking of cool…
This next outfit is a little out of the box for me, but I feel like it is totally current and on trend.
same print tee HERE
(see how the 3rd picture shows you how it’s longer in the back? love that.)
black and white jacket HERE
For size reference, I am wearing a large in the jacket.
If my boobs and rib cage were a bit smaller, I totally could have taken the medium.
Basically big boobed ladies might want to pass on this jacket.
All other ladies should totally snatch it up!
I was totally surprised by how much I loved the bold black and white striped jacket.
Okay…so now is a good time to tell you all that I’ve been doing this blogging thing long enough that I feel like I can kind of read your minds. I usually know when something I post is going to be a big hit.
I feel like people are really going to like the idea of the above black and white jacket, but I know that not everybody can fit into Junior’s sizing.
So, I decided to search for some other graphic black and white jacket options, just hoping I would find one I kind of liked almost as much as the one above.
AND LO AND BEHOLD.
I found 5.
They are all UNDER $80.
And they are all FABULOUS.
1) herringbone sweater jacket HERE (with faux leather trim)
I think this one is my favorite. I love how it’s styled in the picture with the grey jeans and the white t, but I think it would look great dressed down with jeans (especially some of the MUST HAVE jeans or dressed up with black slacks or a pencil skirt). THIS IS A GREAT JACKET!!!!!!
2) faux leather sleeve jacquard jacket HERE
3) houndstooth front sweater jacket HERE
I really love this one too.
4) tweed front sweater jacket HERE
5) tweed blazer HERE
Tweed? In blazer form? Yes, please.
I don’t know about you ladies, but even though I’ve lived my entire life without a black and white graphic jacket, I all of a sudden HAVE TO HAVE ONE. Like YESTERDAY.
Do you feel the same way?!? The above pictures make me giddy.
black shirt HERE
cream shirt HERE
I really liked this shirt in both colors. Both were a small, but for some reason the black one was shorter than the cream one. (Make sure you look closely and see how I’m wearing a black tank under the black one it to give it the look that I wanted.)
clean cuffed jeans HERE
lacie hoodie HERE
soft green tee sold out
faux leather jacket HERE
LOVED this jacket! It fit great, had a cute shape, and I feel like it would be a really nice addition to lots of your closets. Leather is a huge trend this year, and this is a very affordable way to take part in the trend!
AWESOME plus size faux leather jacket option HERE (under $100!)

GAP navy jacket HERE
This jacket had such a cute cut and I loved the navy. It was also very warm!
GAP camel colored sweater HERE
This is a great basic sweater. You will see it appear next week with a great pair of pants in my post with ideas for the work place!

We had just a little bit of time left to head to the LOFT.
I’d been hearing about the special jewelry collection they had launched and I had to check it out.
THESE earrings are GORGEOUS and SPECIAL!
They are part of the LOFT LIVE IN PINK campaign!
LOFT teamed up with Guilianna Rancic (who I love!), and now through October 31st, LOFT will donate 60% of the
purchase price of these earrings to The Breast Cancer
These earrings would be soooooo great with so many things!
They could totally fancy up a ripped up pair of jeans and sweater, but they would also look gorgeous with a little back dress.
We ended our afternoon with Starbucks.
Before you go, I want to highlight 2 blog comments/reader e-mails I received this week, both about my new TOMS!
This first one I got on Wednesday from a sweet reader named Brandi. I know a lot of you ladies hear me talk about something over and over, but it sometimes takes hearing it from somebody else before you finally break down and decide to try something on your own.
This e-mail was too good not to share.
I’ve never commented before, but I have to tell you how
grateful I am that you highlighted the TOMS booties! I
would have never considered them before seeing you style
them. Since purchasing them, they are my favorite shoes in
my closet, beating out my Hunters and beloved Tory Burch
flats every time! They are the most comfortable shoes ever
– like wearing slippers! I get so many compliments on them
every time I wear them and I always tell people that
Sheaffer at PTMT told me to!
Thank you for joining me in my mission to educate the world about these shoes!
Ladies, if you haven’t listened to me..listen to Brandi for cryin’ out loud!
The same day Brandi sent me a message about the booties, I was wearing them.
And NO LIE, I got 5 compliments on them on that day alone.
5 compliments is a lot of compliments people.
This is what I was wearing…
my Vigoss clean cuffed jeans (of course) found HERE
a ruffled top (options HERE and HERE, both from LOFT, both awesome)
my beloved black jacket (sorry it’s sold out)
my Sanibel pendent HERE
TOMS booties HERE
I felt like I was pretty put together from head to toe…
and although I got 2 compliments on the jacket that day,
the FIVE I received on the booties was seriously impressive.
If you’re on the fence about them,
I’m hoping you are getting the little nudge you need to try them.
Believe you me, I want to show up at your house and stand over your shoulder at your computer until you buy them AND THE JEANS, but I’m exercising some restraint here.
Then just yesterday I got an e-mail from Meghan too!
I wore my new taupe Toms booties today for the first time and received
three compliments! I was walking with the kids at a nice shopping center
(on my way to hit up the LOFT 50% off sale) and was stopped by two
women asking where I found them and saying they never knew Toms made
such cute shoes. I sent them to Nordstrom 🙂
Love them! So comfy and cute!
Brandi and Meghan are pretty convincing, right?
And remember, if you don’t like the TOMS, check out the Pace bootie HERE.
And if you have any booties, you probably want to get some of THESE socks.
No, not probably…
You DEFINITELY want to get some of these socks.
They are the socks I wear with my TOMS canvas slip ons, and now I wear them with my TOMS booties. They are perfect for other ankle boots too.
They obviously aren’t for warmth, but they are necessary.
Click HERE, and buy 3 pair and save!
I want to style them with a grey v-neck, my MUST HAVE jean jacket, and some booties!
