It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika and Andrea to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now.

Christmas 2020

I absolutely love attending the Christmas Eve service at church (it’s my favorite Christmas tradition), but our churches weren’t having in person services this year.  So instead, my parents and my sister’s family came over on Christmas Eve for a taco bar and family time.

We wanted the focus to still be on the real reason for Christmas, so the boys read the Christmas story from the Bible, and then they painted these baby Jesus canvases. It was a sweet time together.

Love these people.

The Pups

The pups have been so happy to have us at home over the break.  They loved being with their people and they took full advantage of all the extra snuggle time.

And my goodness do they love being cozy.

I walked in the family room the other day, and Charlie was perched upon this pillow and these blankets…

and he was sound asleep.  Hysterical!

The boys snuggle with each other too.  It’s just the sweetest.

WIT AND WISDOM BLACK PANTS

I’m SO EXCITED to share these pants with y’all today!

Remember the dress pants that I fell in love with a couple of years ago during the Anniversary Sale?  Well, these are from the same maker and similar, but I think some of you are going to like these even more.

They are still super stretchy and basically feel like you are wearing pajama pants, but they don’t have the built in belt (which I liked, but I know many of you didn’t), and they have actual functional pockets!  You pull these on, and while they don’t have a zipper, they do have a button and hook and eye closure.

For size reference, I’m wearing a 4, but size down if between sizes.  AND GET THIS!  They are 40% OFF right now making them ONLY $40.80 for a great pair of classic black slacks.

Also, I’m wearing my classic cashmere sweater with them (that I adore), and it’s still 50% OFF.  I’m wearing a medium.

Because these pants don’t have the built in belt that the previous version had, it’s easier to wear longer tops without feeling like you need to do a 1/2 tuck.  This beautiful cobalt blue sweater is a lovely find and shows how longer tops pair perfectly with these pants.  I showed this sweater before with black jeans and mules, but it’s great dressed up for the office too. It’s super  soft, has a double v neck (front and back), ribbing details, and a split hem.  It’s got a great fit.  It isn’t tight, but it’s not slouchy either. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

SWEATERS

And because I feel so strongly that this cashmere sweater has a place in everybody’s closet, here it is styled more casually with jeans and leopard booties.  At 50% OFF, I want to really encourage everybody to give it a try!  Again, I’m wearing a medium.

I told y’all a couple of week ago that I ordered this puff sleeve sweater and was excited for it to come in. Well, it came in, and I LOVE IT.

First of all, it’s ONLY $34!  I really love this stripe, but it also comes in several solid color choices.  It’s the “boucle” texture that’s very soft, I think the subtle puff and pleated sleeve is adorable, and I love the wide band across the waist.  It’s on the thicker side, but really super soft.  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.  The shoulders seem a bit big on me, but I wouldn’t want a small through the bust.

These leopard booties (in both outfits above) are a neutral with attitude AND ON SALE.  They will go with basically anything you try to pair them with, but they will kick your outfit up a notch or two.  Or ten.  I’m really picky about my leopard patterns, and this is a great one.  The colors are muted and the pattern is small, which I prefer.

They slip on with ease, and I love the deep cut outs on the side with the elastic insets.  They are very comfortable and can be worn with or without a no show sock.

They are very flattering and look great with ankle jeans. True to size for me.

PARKA

Are you in need of a warm coat?  Like a reallllllllllllllly warm coat?  LOOK. NO. FURTHER.

It has excellent ratings, it’s just $60, and it comes in several colors but I was totally drawn to the vibrant red.

This parka is water-resistant and features a removable faux fur hood trim, an adjustable hood, button flap pockets, and an adjustable waist with a draw cord.  And as mentioned before, it’s VERY warm.  It’s a little bulky, but I find that is often the case with coats that are super warm.

For size reference, I’m wearing a small, but I need a medium.

SWEATSHIRTS

Ladies.  This raw edge sweatshirt is crazy soft and oh so cozy.

It’s oversized and a super relaxed fit with a dropped shoulder. The raw seams provide interest and nice design details, and I love that it’s lined with a light fleece.  SERIOUSLY, it’s incredibly cozy.  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium here, and I really like the oversized fit.

This is an expensive sweatshirt, but heaven knows it’s a message we all need right now.  It’s lightweight and cozy.  I’m wearing a medium.

Upcoming Beauty Products Review

I have a post coming up at the end of this month where I’ll be featuring some new Nordstrom beauty products that I’m currently trying out.

STYLE IT AGAIN, SHEAFFER

Over the last couple of months, many of you have purchased the MUST HAVE leggings.  And I have to say, I think just about every single one of you that purchased them agrees with me that they are in fact a MUST HAVE item!

Well, now that you all have the leggings, I’ve been receiving some questions on what to pair them with.

I’ve got several styling ideas to share today!

If you know me in real life, prepare to start seeing me in this combo frequently.

This zella tee is AWESOME, flattering, and functional. When I’m wearing leggings, I most often want a tee with a relaxed fit, and this one really delivers.  It’s a little bit longer in the back, and it covers your backside, which is perfect.  To make sure it’s plenty roomy, I’m wearing a medium.

The full zip hoodie sweatshirt  is made of a soft cotton blend, and I know I’ll be grabbing it ALL THE TIME.  This is the “grey porpoise”, but it also comes in black, navy, and “blue marlin” (which definitely has purple tones).  Again, I’m wearing a medium.

Here’s the same outfit, but with a white tee instead of a black tee.  Also, I half tucked the tee to show off the ribbed waistband.

If you prefer a more fitted and streamlined look, this soft lounge cozy jacket is going to be for you!  It’s the same wonderfully soft and comfy material as the must have leggings, which I know everybody loves.

And listen, this jacket is DARLING.  It’s very stretchy, has a great stand up double collar, and the gathers are so flattering.  It also has thumbholes which I know many of you really like.  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

If you hate the idea of a fitted jacket with your lounge leggings, you can go in the exact opposite direction with this cozy wrap jacket.

It’s got a funnel neck collar, snap closure, and a super cozy fleece lining.  I think the relaxed styling is a lot of fun.

I would say it runs large because I’m in an extra small.

I’m all about a good tie dye sweatshirt, and this is a really good tie dye sweatshirt.

It’s the big and boxy style that’s so in right now, and I still have plenty of room in the small, so definitely size down if in between sizes.

Another big and boxy option for you is this side split crewneck sweatshirt.  Again, I’m wearing a small, and it’s still very roomy.  As you can see, I also have the sleeves cuffed because they are quite long.  It also comes in black and a soft blue, but I fell in love with this vibrant pink.

This relaxed fit hoodie sweatshirt is from Amazon and is another great option.  It’s soft, cozy, and has a bit of stretch in it.  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.  It also comes in blue, black, and grey.
