Happy Thursday, Ladies! I don’t know about y’all, but this has been a week. I’ll spare you the details, but I sure am ready for it to be over. I’m also ready for Carter to be out of school so we can just be home together as a family for the next several weeks! Bring on the Christmas cheer, all the twinkly lights, and lots of holidays treats. I’M READY.
Today we’re talking boots and booties!
We’re actually talking about 5 different categories of ON TREND boots, all of which can be found at DSW! That’s right, DSW can be your 1 stop shop for all of your boot and bootie needs this year, including the following:
- Statement Boots – All the details we’re loving this season with a sassy side!
- Outdoor Boots – Some have waterproof bottoms, some are light weight for traction, and some have shearling for warmth.
- Casual Boots – These boots are not only comfy, they look great, too! Throw on with your favorite jeans and a sweater and head out the door.
- Combat Boots – The biggest trend of the season by far.
- Cozy Boots – Warm & snuggly, perfect for both indoors and out.
And I’ve got GREAT NEWS! DSW has a special promotion going on right now! Get $10 off of $49, $20 off of $99, or $60 OFF of $199 with the code DECKTHEHALLS through 12/20 (some brand exclusions apply). Also, if your particular order is available for expedited shipping, then you can stack the code ISHIPIT code for $10 off expedited shipping (orders must be placed by 12/18 by 2 pm).
Let’s get to the post!
I’m wearing the same outfit throughout today’s post, but I’m showing you how just changing out the shoes (and the bag) can totally change your entire look. We’re going to look at a statement boot, an outdoor bootie, and a casual bootie.
*************
STATEMENT BOOTS
Let’s kick things off today with a super sassy statement boot.
I mean, seriously. Can you get any sassier than a thigh high black boot?
Because I don’t think you can.
The material is a bit stretchy and really hugs your legs, which is super flattering. The pointy toe and chunky heel just add to their appeal.
If wearing with jeans, they definitely need to be skinny jeans so they won’t be too bunchy inside of the boot.
They will also look fantastic with faux leather leggings and tights.
They are very comfortable (lots of reviewers state that they wear them all day) and they don’t fall down up top like lots of other thigh high boots do that I’ve tried in the past. They’re sleek and classic.
True to size for me.
They really do elevate the rest of the outfit.
And I just feel great in them.
Here’s the deal.
I LOVE THEM.
I didn’t know if I would.
BUT I DO.
These are a great value at their regular DSW price of just UNDER $100, but if you use the code DECKTHEHALLS right now, you can get them for $79.99!!! WOWZA!

OTHER STATEMENT BOOTIES that caught my eye follow. Don’t you love the studs on the black ones? They are all great looking booties!
black studded booties / snakeskin booties / leopard booties / cognac heeled bootie

OUTDOOR BOOTS
Same outfit, but a much more casual look here with a big tote and a pair of duck boots.
The lace up feature is so cute and the waterproof nubuck leather upper and rubber sole provides long-lasting wear in all weather conditions!
They are very lightweight, which is the opposite of my tall rain boots that I have. These are so easy to throw on quickly on a rainy day. I’m wearing no show socks here, but they would be so cute with big fuzzy socks sticking out of the top of the boot.
True to size for me, but if planning on wearing with thick socks, you might consider sizing up a 1/2.
So. Cute.
Bring on the rain.
More OUTDOOR boot and bootie options that caught my eye…
I’m basically obsessed with the middle two below.
camel and black snow boots / cognac and grey lace up wedge booties / short lace up wedge booties / black snow boots

CASUAL BOOTIE
This next bootie I’m showing is the most “me” shoe of the entire post.
Everybody needs to have a casual neutral bootie in their closet that they love.
These leopard booties are a neutral with attitude. They will go with basically anything you try to pair them with, but they will kick your outfit up a notch or two. Or ten.
I’m really picky about my leopard patterns, and this is a great one. The colors are muted and the pattern is small, which I love.
They slip on with ease, and I love the deep cut outs on the side with the elastic insets. They are very comfortable and can be worn with or without a sock. I’m not wearing a sock here, but a no show sock works great with them too.
They are very flattering and look great with ankle jeans.
True to size for me.
This is the type of bootie I’ll reach for again and again.
They are regularly only $79.99 at DSW, but they are currently on sale for $64.98, and right now you can get an additional $10 OFF with the code DECKTHEHALLS. Getting these booties for $54.98 is a total steal!
Here are some other casual booties that caught my eye:
heeled taupe bootie / flat cognac bootie / grey booties / flat taupe bootie

COMBAT BOOTS
DSW has a large selection of combat boots, and combat boots are definitely the biggest trend of the season.
white heeled combat boots / Timberland’s with tread heel / olive green boots / black lace up booties

COZY BOOTIES
And last, but definitely not least, I’ve got some cozy options for y’all! These are of course great for at home, but perfect for running around town too.
grey with bows / short Ugg wedge bootie / mini bootie / short bootie

So what do you think?
What’s your favorite boot style? As you can see, the shoes totally change the look of the outfit.
leopard booties / thigh high boots / duck boots
If you had to choose one pair, which would it be?
I know I’ll wear the leopard booties the most, but I sure do love how I feel in the thigh high boots!

Do you have a link for the sweater?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Sarah! It’s several years old from Loft. So sorry! 🙁 xoxo
Shay Shull says
I always forget to check out DSW!! There are so many cute boots there!!
Lori Sharp says
Oh my gosh! That clutch! Where is it from?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Lori! I’m sad to say, I have no idea!!!! I got it at a blogging conference years ago in a gift bag. I think maybe it was from a retailer called River Island? But again, probably from 5 years ago. So sorry! xoxo
Carol says
Okay, I SO want to be cute and wear the low booties like the leopard ones, but my ankles get SO COLD in the winter. Is this an issue for you? How can you be cute and warm at the same time? LOL.
Sheaffer says
Hey, Carol! When it’s cold here, I’m never outside for long, so I’m dressing more for the destination. 🙂 xoxo
Susan says
Can you share where your tan “saddle bag” is from? I love that style!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Susan! It’s a Frye bag that I got from eBay several years ago! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Marianne says
I tried the code today and says expired. So sad
Sheaffer says
So sorry, Marianne! 🙁
Missy says
Bummer, I read through the comments to see if someone asked about the clutch before I did and sad (but happy) to see it was a gift. Lol! On that note, maybe a post for the new year could be about clutches, purses, wristlets, etc.?? I love them all!
