It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now!

OUTFIT IDEAS WITH THE BEST LEGGINGS
I’ve been singing the praises of the Amazon 90 Degree high waisted leggings since last year, and just last month I finally got the cropped version. I LOVE THEM. I wear them to work out (on the rare occasion when that happens), casually with sneakers around town, and I’ll be dressing them up a bit too with sweaters and boots!
Earlier this week you saw them styled with workout gear. Click HERE to see the post where I reviewed this outfit and gave sizing information. The post also has a super cute, super soft, and super affordable funnel neck sweatshirt.
Amazon jacket / scoop neck swing tee / resin earrings / cropped leggings / mesh sneakers
Here’s my idea of a perfect running around town and lounging around the house outfit. This camo tunic is called a sweatshirt, but I think it’s more of a t-shirt weight. It’s awesome. It has high side slits, so it will definitely require a cami or tee under it, but I’m good with that. I’m wearing a small, and it’s still quite oversized.
camo tunic / cross body strap (use the code BUILDABAG for 40% OFF) / resin earrings / cropped leggings / mesh sneakers
And here are the leggings dressed up a bit with a sweater and boots!
I think this star sweater is so much fun, and I love the color combo and the balloon sleeves.
I sized up to a medium in the sweater so it would definitely be long enough and relaxed enough to wear with leggings. If not wearing with leggings, definitely stick to your regular size.
star sweater / favorite earrings / cropped leggings (long version of the leggings) / scarf / cognac tote / my favorite black boots from last year are back!
And in case stars aren’t your thing, here’s a solid colored sweater. I’m wearing a medium again to make sure it was leggings appropriate.
sweater / tassel necklace / favorite earrings / cropped leggings (long version of the leggings) / scarf / cognac tote / black boots

COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD BIRTHDAY SALE
I’m working with Colleen Rothschild today to make sure you know that the biggest sale of the year is going on RIGHT NOW! Spend $150, and get $50 OFF! WOW!
Normally she does site wide sales for 20% off, sometimes 25%, but this is 33% OFF!!! WOW!
Help celebrate Colleen’s birthday BY SHOPPING YOUR FACE OFF!!!
CODE: HBD50
Here’s a BIG TIP: They have FREE SHIPPING, so if you want to place a large order, break them up into multiple orders that are as close to $150 as possible (before the code is entered). It won’t cost you any extra (because of the free shipping), and you’ll get some serious bang for your buck because you can get $50 OFF as many $150 purchases as you want! (They don’t advertise this, but it should work!)
If you are already a Colleen Rothschild devotee, I have no doubt that you have been waiting for this sale and already have a strategy for what you are grabbing today. But if you are new to Colleen’s products, I have some suggestions for you on what I think you should buy.
If you have never tried Colleen Rothschild before and have around $100 to spend….I would recommend buying one of the following packages:
* SUGGESTION #1: The Cleansing Balm and The Discovery Kit. Your total (before entering the code) will be $160, and then you will get $50 OFF with the code HBD50. The Cleansing Balm is my ride or die product and it’s the first product I always tell a curious buyer to get! I will never go without it. The Discovery Kit is great for both new users (you get introduced to a wide variety of products) and CR lovers (because the kit is perfect for travel).
OR
* SUGGESTION #2: The Cleansing Balm and The Skin Revival Serum Trio. Again, Your total (before entering the code) will be $160, and then you will get $50 OFF with the code HBD50. The Skin Revival Serum Trio is already a reduced price for the bundle, so you will be getting an incredible deal and you will get to try 2 different serums and the face oil.
Below you will see Suggestion #1, except there are a couple of things missing out of my Discovery Kit. I gave my mom the Face Oil that comes in the kit because she swears by it, and I think it’s a bit much for my skin. And I couldn’t find my muslin cloth for the pic. I take the Discovery Kit with me everywhere. Even if I’m just going to be gone 1 night.
So I hope we’ve established that the Cleansing Balm is a non-negotiable. And FYI, you can get the JUMBO Cleansing Balm for a crazy good deal if you want to spend a little more because it’s a $130 value, it’s reduced to $95, and then you could get the $50 off the $150 when you add in another product.
If you have around $200 to spend you are going to need to place two separate orders totaling at least $150 each before the discount is applied.
Here’s a shot of my CR arsenal, and to be honest, not even all of my products are pictured. #whatcanisay #iamafan

WHAT I’VE BEEN WEARING LATELY
WHAT I’VE BEEN WEARING (TO THE MALL)…
This is a perfect example of an early Fall outfit. Click HERE to see the outfit in a styled post from a couple of weeks ago. Clearly it’s a good one and I keep recreating it.
seamed popover blouse / earrings / cross body strap (use the code BUILDABAG for 40% OFF)/ raw hem ankle jeans/ tiger flats
WHAT I’VE BEEN WEARING (TO SOCCER GAMES)…
It’s been around 185 degrees at Carter’s soccer games, so cool and comfy is the name of the game. This tee came in for my September Amazon haul, but it of course works with shorts too! It’s a relaxed fit and I love it! I’m wearing a small.
Judith March Dirt Road Darlin’ hat / favorite earrings / striped tee / shorts sold out
WHAT I’VE BEEN WEARING (TO CHURCH)…
Do y’all remember this dress? It’s become one of my favorite dresses in my closet. I love a shift dress (that’s forgiving AND flattering), and this color is gorgeous.
I wore it this summer with wedges and brightly colored jewelry.
But this past Sunday I “falled it up” for church!
I switched out the bright colored jewelry for gold hues, I threw a jacket on top (of course), and I tied a scarf with Fall colors to the bag. And POOF, I was all sorts of ready for Fall!
AND GREAT NEWS. The dress is on SUPER SALE right now. It’s Madewell and it’s ONLY $39.99! Size down for sure. I’m wearing an x-small.
dress / Amazon denim jacket / favorite earrings / necklace sold out / scarf / cognac tote / must have wedges
Here’s the front view to give you a better idea of the outfit. SEE? Totally ready for Fall!
dress / Amazon denim jacket / favorite earrings / necklace sold out / scarf / cognac tote / must have wedges
(Sidenote: Do I look sun kissed in the pictures above? I’m definitely not, but I sure did get the look by rubbing some of this on about 20 minutes before walking out the door! It’s the best self tanner I’ve ever used. The color is very natural, and it’s so easy to apply and get an even application.)

REVLON DRYER BRUSH ON SALE
I posted this deal on facebook yesterday, and you might want to click HERE to see what everybody has to say about it. Spoiler Alert: I’m not the only one that is obsessed! I’m not sure how long this sale is going to last, but the dryer is 31% OFF right now! It’s an amazing deal for a LIFE CHANGING TOOL. And I’m not even being dramatic.
The tool in the picture below is Revlon One Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Brush, AND I’M CRAZY ABOUT IT. Like borderline psychotic. I might have told the sweet high school girl that was bagging my groceries about it. And then the lady in line behind me. #allegedly #okayidid #theyneededtoknow I love it sooooo SOOOOOOO much. Yes, I have the super expensive Dyson dryer, and it is definitely an amazing dryer. But this one is over $300 less, and I love it too. In fact, I haven’t used my Dyson even once since getting this dryer. Here’s what I love the most about it: it’s sooo hard to get the bumpy ridges out of the back of my hair…AND DARE I SAY, THIS $50 TOOL MAKES IT EASY. Did you hear that? I SAID EASY. I know it’s pretty unbelievable, but it’s true. I don’t even dread drying my hair anymore. Dare I say I almost think it’s fun! CRAZY!
One tip: When I use the dryer, I only use the low heat setting because I feel like the high heat is aggressively hot.
This is me (and my hair) after using the Revlon Hot Air Brush.
The brush is normally UNDER $60, so it’s a jaw dropping value all the time, but right now it’s ONLY $41.59! And look how smooth and silky my hair is!

A SWEATER THAT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Now this sweater is soft!!!! I showed it last week, but I’m talking about it again because I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!
I bought it in black last year and wore the heck out of it, so I was thrilled when I saw it come back this year in 6 colors. This is the brown shitake, but it also comes in a deep wine, an olive, a rust, and a pretty berry color. It looks great with jeans, but it’s definitely nice enough for office wear. GET THIS SWEATER before it’s gone!
I’m wearing a small for the slouchy fit I love. You should size down for a less slouchy fit.
mushroom v neck sweater /pave disc necklace / must have earrings/ scarf / cognac tote / tortoise ring belt / bracelets / raw hem ankle jeans/ tiger flats
Here I am in my black one from last year.

OUTFIT PLANNING
So I’ve shown you some outfits that I’ve been wearing in my everyday life…but as always, I’m often putting outfits together that are a little ahead of the weather or the season.
I would spontaneously combust into flames if I wore this right now, BUT MY WORD is it warm and cozy. I will be wearing the heck out of this as soon as the weather allows. Click HERE to get to the post where I talk about the darling camo sneakers.
fuzzy fleece sweatshirt / raw hem ankle jeans / camo sneakers
And you saw this sweater with leggings and tall boots above, but I wanted to show you how it looks styled a bit differently with ankle jeans and flats. STILL SO CUTE!
sweater / tassel necklace / favorite earrings /tote / bandana /raw hem ankle jeans/ tiger flats

GREAT WEDGE BOOTIES
These booties are AWESOME. I love a wedge bootie for the comfort they provide, but I don’t always love the look. WELL, I THINK THESE ARE DARLING. The deep cut outs on the sides add a lot of interest and are very flattering. They are comfy, stylish, and true to size.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these booties! Click HERE for the entire post and to see the rest of the outfit.

A MUST SEE POST
Did you see Wednesday’s post? It’s a MUST SEE if you ask me!
I styled a camel colored sweater 3 ways and hopefully made the case that a camel sweater is NECESSARY in your wardrobe. In addition to loving the sweater, I also LOVE all 3 pairs of pants that I’m showing in the different looks. The post features black jeans , itty bitty boot cut jeans, and a pair of nice black pants that you will be seeing all season long.
The sweater I highlighted in the post is cashmere and GORGEOUS. However, I did have a couple of readers reach out to say that they can’t wear cashmere, and they wondered if I had an alternative. Others wanted a more affordable choice.
Well, I’ve got a great option for y’all!
Click HERE for this v neck camel sweater from Amazon! It’s not cashmere, it’s super affordable (UNDER $20), a great camel color, and has great reviews! This will sell out, so don’t delay.

FALL REFRESH WITH GIBSON
The Gibson Fall Refresh is NOW LIVE! The new collection contains lots of wonderful pieces for your Fall closet, and I fell in love with the colors and style of this blouse.
smocked bow neck blouse (plus size top)/ itty bitty boot cut jeans (plus size option)/ leopard booties
Aren’t the colors gorgeous? And I love the pattern too. I’m wearing a small.
It looks great with jeans, and it will also look awesome with a pair of black work pants or a black pencil skirt.
smocked bow neck blouse (plus size top)/ itty bitty boot cut jeans (plus size option)/ leopard booties
When the collection went live yesterday, I bought these babies. When I heard there was an elastic band across the back, they flew into my cart. Click HERE to see the entire collection. I purchased both the regular smalls and the petite medium in these pants, not knowing which would be a better fit.

THE LITTLE FELLA
I couldn’t let September end without mentioning that this little guy turned 11 this month. He has brought so much joy to our lives since his entrance into the world, and we are just so incredibly thankful that we have the privilege of being his parents.
That’s all for today, ladies! Have a wonderful weekend with your people!
Lindsay says
Hey Sheaffer!! I have the cognac Lucky booties and wore them for the first time last night. I adore them. But the deep cut out on the side makes an ankle sock show. What sock are you wearing with yours? I tried to wear mine without any socks and owwwwwie that’s not going to be possible.
Thanks in advance!
Lindsay
Sheaffer says
Hey, Lindsay! I don’t wear socks with them, but I don’t really wear them with any booties, and I still find them comfortable. Have you tried the Zella no show socks? They might work! xoxo
Monica says
I wear something similar to this…

Erika Slaughter says
I have so many thoughts today, friend! 1. You were SO CUTE in that red dress at church. I’ve said it before but I’m saying it again-RED IS YOUR COLOR!! 2. I might have lol’d at your spontaneously combust. I did that on Wednesday-put my foot down with the summer clothes and wore fall. Let me just tell you-I was sweating in places I didn’t even knew sweat.
Sheaffer says
I wore a sweatshirt and cut offs to the grocery store this week, and I was perfectly comfortable in the frozen food section. But I almost died in the parking lot.
Shay Shull says
Well, this week has definitely convinced me that I need a camel sweater. STAT!
Ashley says
Happy Birthday Carter! Ps…how is Connor doing? When is her baby arriving! Hope she is well! 🙂
Sheaffer says
Hi, Ashley! The baby is arriving very soon!!! I’ll update everybody next week! xoxo
Krissy says
Are those the Sole Society Paloma black boots? They are sold out at Nordstrom but Sole Society has them on their website!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Krissy! THEY ARE! Thanks for letting me know, I’ll go link them! xoxo
Krissy says
You are so welcome! I wouldn’t have known about them without your blog. They are so cute on you I HAD to find them! 🙂 XOXO
Kimberly Clayton says
The dress link is not working–is it from Nordstrom?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kimberly! I just checked and it’s working for me!!! I bought it from NOrdstrom, but it’s sold out there now. I found it still in stock at Madewell. 🙂 xoxo
Kimberly Clayton says
Finally found it on Nordstrom–red dress is sold out. You can find it on the Madewell site in only XXS, XS, and XL.
Amy Azza says
OMG Sheaffer.. of course I am so impatient I used that $50 code last night on Colleen Rothschild.. I should have waited till I ready your post this morning and I would have bundled up in smaller bundles!! I got the cleansing balm the eye cream and the age renewal super serum.
Sheaffer says
Amy, you are going to LOVE it all! I’m excited for you! xoxo
Lauren West says
Hey Sheaffer! What size did you order in the fuzzy sweatshirt?! Thinking it might be perfect for my trip to NYC in December!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Lauren! I ordered a medium. xoxo
Kelly Lane Nation says
For once, I don’t have to fight the urge to buy something on your post…b/c I already have them ordered and they are on the way! 🙂 Finally decided to bite the bullet on the revlon brush (since I saw your post on facebook). Would love a step by step of how you use it. For example, how wet is your hair? Do you divide your hair into sections or just brush through it? Also… I finally bought the leggings too! Can’t wait for legging weather. Let us know if you find wedge booties that are a little cheaper? Love your blog! My bank account does not…haha!
Sheaffer says
Hey, Kelly! I find it works best with damp hair (I always just towel dry or air dry for a bit), and I divide it into sections like I would if using a regular dryer and round brush to dry my hair. And yes, I’ll be on the look out for more affordable wedge booties! xoxo
Susan says
I just ordered the star sweater!! So cute!!!
BF says
Hi Sheaffer!
Okay, I have to ask because I am confused. Do you use the cleansing balm as a makeup remover to get all your makeup/eye makeup off and then wash your face with another cleanser? Or is the cleansing balm an actual cleanser that you use by itself??
Sheaffer says
I do not use another cleanser! I use this for everything! It melts all my makeup off and leaves my face so clean!
Pamela says
Sheaffer, I am a long time blog follower of yours, and my closet is evidence! You always do such a great job, and I really appreciate all the work you put in to the blog. I especially love the “What I’ve Been Wearing Lately” that you did in this post. It is SO helpful to see how your suggestions are practically worn in your real life (to the mall, church, ballgames, etc), and I think it is extra encouraging to all of us who have bought some of the clothes you’ve posted to get the reassurance that we made a good decision. I would really appreciate it if you made this a regular featured part of the blog along with the best sellers from each month. Thank you again for all your fashion help through the years. You’ve been a real blessing!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Pamela! I love the idea of making “What I’ve Been Wearing” a regular post! I’m going to start scheduling those in. I also do “Style It Again, Sheaffer” posts where I highlight a piece I’ve shown in the past, and I style it a different way. And yes, I’ll keep doing the monthly favorites for sure. xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
June says
Hi Sheaffer. Another awesome post and so much of my money gone. Wanted to ask about the mini fan you use when blow drying your hair. I tried to use the amazon link on a previous post but it’s no longer working. Can you please provide the make and model? Thank you!!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, June! It’s a Sky Genius! It’s the first one that comes up on Amazon when you search it. It has over 3,800 reviews! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Jen says
I love having a body “twin” because I hate going and trying on clothes…although I love to shop. Apparently you and I are the same size so I just buy what you tell me too! So, thank you for doing all the leg work!
Sheaffer says
Love that I can be your body twin!!!! Happy to be of service! 🙂 xoxo
Lisa Scott says
Oh my goodness – I just recently saw you post about the Revlon hair dryer – can’t find that post, but found this original post to comment on! I purchased from your link and got it this week and just tried it this morning! I have a lot of hair cut in a short to mid angled bob and round brush and blow dry – it’s a BEATING! Plus my hair is thick thick thick. Talk about a life changer for sure – it took less time to dry and it’s SMOOTH and SHINY! No need to flat iron! THANK YOU! I have girl’s night tonight and am telling all my gal pals!!!
