Well, it’s officially September!
In my world, that means it is time to start sprinkling some Fall items into my wardrobe. I begin trading out denim shorts for jeans, sandals for flats, and I start dressing in light layers when appropriate. (I mean, I’m not going to wear a short sleeved cardi to a soccer game, but I will wear one to dinner!)
On last Friday’s post I shared 5 Tips To Transition Your Outfits to Fall. On that post I highlighted 1 outfit (one of my favorite outfits I’ve ever posted) that implemented all 5 Tips, and the outfit was made up of some key pieces that I highly recommend to get your Fall wardrobe started. The following 3 items were in that outfit and will give you a fantastic jump start on Fall dressing: this dolman sleeve cardi (in blush, grey, and/or black), these dark wash ankle jeans, and these sassy flats.
ANOTHER GREAT EARLY FALL OUTFIT
Today’s outfit is another great example of early Fall dressing, and it happens to incorporate the jeans and the flats from last week. In fact, I’m not just wearing the same jeans and flats… I also happen to be carrying the same bag and wearing the same earrings, which further proves that these are all versatile pieces that will serve you well in your Fall closet.
I switched up the top, the necklace, and the bracelets…but everything else is the same!

If you love a relaxed blouse that doesn’t hug your body and is very forgiving, this seamed popover blouse is for you! The details are so pretty with the seams and the tiny pleats, and it hangs perfectly. It’s great with flats and jeans, but it will also be good with booties and boots! I love it on it’s own, but it will also be perfect for layering. And it’s definitely nice enough to pair with a pair of dress pants and heels for the office. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
The sunburst necklace is a great basic that will be a classic final touch on many Fall outfits.

As mentioned last week, these jeans are amazing. They shape, they smooth, they lift, and they boast the Wit and Wisdom Ab-Solution technology that we’ve all fallen in love with. I also love the ankle length (I’m wearing the 4 Regulars) on my 5’4″ frame because I always like to show a little bit of ankle when wearing flats or booties. If between sizes, I would go down a size.
The raw hem is great, and the dark wash honors Tip #2 from last week (ditch the light jeans for dark jeans for Fall).
If I could only have 1 type of jean in my closet for Fall, it would be a dark wash ankle length jean with no distressing and a good amount of stretch. These jeans meet all of the criteria, and they top everything off with a raw hem. I HIGHLY recommend them. They fit me great, hold me in (in all the right places), and still manage to be insanely comfortable.
They are a huge confidence booster because you will look and feel great in them. (And you all know I love their boot cut jeans too. They are the ones that make me feel at least 2 inches taller and at least 5 pounds thinner! Click HERE to see me in the light wash version and HERE to see me in the dark wash version.)

It’s a perfect look for early Fall, and all of the accessories work so well together to make the outfit feel a little special. This isn’t just your basic black top and jeans look.
I’ve been carrying this tote since early Spring, and it’s going to take me through the entire year. It’s reversible (cognac or black), just under $50, and it holds my 15″ laptop. This bag is great for travel, but it would also make a wonderful and super affordable work bag, or just an everyday bag.

And the bandana (love the rust color!) tied on the handle adds just the perfect amount of flare. Look how much style an UNDER $10 bandana can add to your look! Click HERE for other Madewell bandanas if you’d like to see some other choices.

I hesitate to draw your attention to the hem of the jeans (since I have dog hair all over them). #storyofmylife
But I do want you to notice the subtle raw hem. I had several readers ask if these jeans have to be treated delicately because of the frayed hem, and the answer is no! I’ve already washed this pair once, and I’ve had several pairs of raw hem jeans in the past, and I’ve never treated them any differently when laundering them. I wash and dry them normally, and every so often (after SEVERAL washes) I take a pair of scissors and gently trim any stray long frays. Easy!

Okay, let’s talk about these fabulous flats!!!
These shoes incorporate Tip #1 (because of the animal print) and Tip #5 (because they are flats) from last Friday’s post. They truly are the perfect Fall shoe.
Y’all know I’ve loved a leopard flat for years, and I actually continue to love a leopard flat. But when I saw these tiger flats, I thought they were a great updated option! I still consider the pattern a neutral (just like our beloved leopard), but I love the punch this new print is going to add to my outfits! They are a bit unexpected, and I think they are so much fun.
I actually have these exact flats in leopard too, so I can stand by the fact that they are comfortable and well made.
They are true to size.
I love the gold accessories with the strong pops of color. And although I don’t typically like to wear a matchy matchy necklace and earring set, I think that these work together!

Okay, September. Now it’s time to cooperate and bring some cooler temps. M’kay?

And if you didn’t catch my 5 Tips To Transition Your Outfits to Fall post, this is the outfit I put together to highlight all of those tips! You’ll see it has the same jeans, same bag, same flats, same bracelet, same bandana, and same earrings. #see #VERSTATILE

And then for fun, I thought I would continue showing the versatility of these pieces. I’m going to take the entire outfit above, and I’m just going to switch out the tops to create totally different looks.
This blouse comes in 4 colors, but I was immediately drawn to this rust because it’s huge for Fall. It’s a super relaxed fit (which I love), and it has great little buttons down the back. For size reference, I wear a small in this blouse.
I think this rust color looks great with the tiger pattern on the flats!

Here are all the same pieces again, but with a black wrap blouse. All I did was change the blouse, but now it’s a totally different look. For size reference, I need a medium in this blouse.

And once again….the same pieces…but now with a camel sweater to take us into cooler temps. (The camel color is going in and out of stock, but there’s a great camel option with a gold stripe!) I wear a small in this sweater.
And then I wanted to mix it up just a bit with this bag to show that the tiger pairs great with green! In fact, the flats would look awesome with a green sweater too. I love the green color and the tortoise shell accents on the bag, but I wish the strap was long enough to be a cross body. It’s not long enough for me, so I would have to just wear it over my shoulder.

I hope y’all grabbed a piece or two to get you ready for Fall! See y’all back here on Friday!

What lip color and brand are you wearing in today’s post? It’s a pretty shade on you! Wish I could pull out some darker jeans and sweaters but we’re still in the 90’s in the southeast. Hopefully in another month I can sneak in a light sweater or a jean jacket.

Hi, Kelly!!!! It’s new and I love it!!! I’m going to be talking about it on a future beauty post, but I’ll give you a sneak peek! It’s MAC CAPRICIOUS. The berry/plum color is so pretty! And I have the Rihanna Fenty gloss on top that I talked about in my last Sephora post that I’m still LOVING. xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

Loving your blog! I’m a new follower. The handbag strap with the Aztec? design on your LV. Can you share where you purchased it?
Thanks

Hi, Cindy! So happy you found the blog! The strap sold out over 2 years ago and never restocked. It was Chelsea28 from Nordstrom. xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
