WHAT WE ARE EATING

I showed this shot of my plate from taco night on my instagram a couple of weeks ago, and I had some questions about my taco mixture.

I cook taco meat like I always do (1/2 packet of taco seasoning and 1/2 packet of dry ranch for every pound of meat), but then I add some meat to a mixture of Rotel and Ranch Style beans (no exact measurements).  The boys like their taco meat plain, but I really love the mixture.  It’s more flavorful, and it enables me to eat less meat (and more beans and tomatoes).

As you can see below, I also sprinkle a chunky salsa on top.  The salsa is a mix of cherry tomato halves, avocados, and purple onion with salt, pepper, a little olive oil, and red wine vinegar.  It’s so bright and fresh, and I love it on top of my tacos!

I’ve shared this meal with you before, but I just recently started eating it again.  It’s Bird’s Eye Zucchini Lentil Pasta (found in the frozen food aisle).  I add roasted veggies to it(whatever I have on hand), a little fresh parmesan, and Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel Seasoning.  It’s DELICIOUS.

WHAT I’M LOVING

I got some questions about the inside, so I thought I would show you today!

On the left hand side of the collage, you can see how you can unhook the front flap. When you pull that flap down there are slits that will hold your license and 3 additional cards.

On the right hand side of the collage, you see the interior of the bag.  The official measurements of the bag follow: 12″H, 5″W, 3″D.  When I’ve carried it, I’ve carried a small makeup bag, my phone, and my sunglasses and it had a bit of additional room left.

You saw mirror selfies of these next 3 outfits last week, but now I’m showing them in overhead shots.  I LOVE everything in these outfits.

This particular military jacket is FANTASTIC.  I’m wearing the “surplus”, but it comes in 6 additional colors.  The fit is SO CUTE. The jacket is very flattering, and I love the stand up collar.  It’s got a little bit of stretch in it, which makes it very comfy, and not restrictive at all like other similar jackets sometimes are.  All of the colors available are under $40, but depending on the size and color you want, you might be able to grab it for under $30.  For size reference, I’m wearing a 6.  It has EXCELLENT ratings.

I wanted to give you another jacket option, and I was totally drawn to this blush one. It too has a little bit of stretch and a comfortable fit.  It’s a little bit longer than the one above, and the collar is more aggressive.  It’s a great jacket too, and it also comes in several color options.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.  I would say that this one runs big.

I’ve had this gold bracelet from Amazon for over a year now, and I think it looks great with my cheetah bracelet too.

This leopard cardigan is FABULOUS.  It’s soooooooooo soft, and the quality is excellent.  I’m wearing the “C-Beigeleopard”, but it’s sold out now.  The C-Khaki Leopard seems almost identical if you want to try that one!  Be careful because some cardigans on the same link are more of a waffle knit, but this one definitely isn’t a waffle knit. In fact, almost all of the cardigans on the last row seems like they are this soft and thick material, not a waffle knit.

This cardi will look great with regular denim, black denim, grey denim (as seen here), and it’s for sure nice enough to wear to the office.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO

Carter had has first soccer game of the season on Monday.  The season start for our age and our team was delayed a couple of times, but we’re happy we finally got to play.  We lost, but we sure were treated to a beautiful sunset.

We also had another football game last night, but I’ll talk about it on Friday!

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT

This popped up in my memories this week, and I remember it like it was yesterday.  Carter had just turned 5, and we were taking Scout on a walk in our old neighborhood.  Look at those sweet faces.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT

You know what you get excited about in your 40s? A really great vacuum.  SERIOUSLY.  Like I’m dang near GIDDY.

Did you see my vacuum post? It was a special Saturday post because my new vacuum was (and still is) $200 OFF, but I’m afraid a lot of you probably missed the post since I never post on Saturdays!

WHAT I’M WORKING ON

I’ve been working behind the scenes on the holiday launch for my 3rd and final collection with Victoria Emerson,  AND Y’ALL…this one is soooooooooo good.  I feel like they have just become better and better with each launch!  There’s more bracelets to choose from this time, and there’s everything from pearls, to pave, to jewels, to beautiful metals, to diamonds!  I mean, not real diamonds, but still!  Haha!

Everything in the collection could be worn with a fancy outfit to a holiday party, but you could also wear some of the items with a super casual outfit to dinner with the fam or a football game.

I’m telling you, there’s something for every person and every occasion in this next launch.

The two bracelets I’m wearing here feature pearls.  They are so classic and beautiful!

The pilcro relaxed plaid button down is a perfect button down for fall!  It’s called “red”, but I think it’s definitely more in the orange family.  It’s soft and has a bit of stretch in it, which makes it super comfy.  I’m going to be wearing this all season long.  And if orange isn’t your thing, it comes in 2 other colorways.

This modal hooded pullover is 58% Cotton, 39% Modal, and 3% Spandex.  It’s a relaxed fit hoodie, with a totally sporty vibe.  The material is thick, but not heavy, and really soft.  I’m wearing a small here, but you might want to size up for a more oversized fit.

And please listen to me when I say this to you…get the leggings and the sneakers.  I’ve had both of them now for over a year and think they are AWESOME.  I’m wearing a small in the leggings and the sneakers are true to size.
