Happy Monday, Ladies!
I hope everybody had a great weekend! We had a nice and relaxing weekend at home, and I’m not mad about it. We had a couple of activities that got cancelled, but that was fine by me. The boys went to a high school football game on Friday night, Carter went to Oktoberfest in downtown McKinney with a friend’s family on Saturday, I got lots of work done for the blog and around the house, and we watched a ton of football. It was a nice little weekend.
Well, today’s post is all about a super cool bag, and I style it in 2 different outfits.
I popped into Anthropologie last week to hopefully grab a couple of pieces for an upcoming photo shoot, and this bag caught my eye. I think it’s DARLING, and I love that it’s affordable. I also think it’s kinda genius, but we’ll get to that in a minute.

Y’all know I love a cross body bag.
In fact, I have 3 designer bags from the last 10 years, and all 3 of them are cross body bags. I love having my hands free, so I was absolutely thrilled to find this bag!
I think it’s a perfect cross between a typical cross body bag and a belt bag (or fanny pack).

I stacked my cheetah bracelet with the gold bracelet from this bracelet trio.

The jeans…
If you are looking for a classic pair of dark wash jeans with no distressing, LOOK NO FURTHER. I think I’ve had these jeans for 2 years now. They still look great, and they keep stocking them because they are so dang popular. I like distressing as much as the next gal, but I always need a “clean” pair or two in my closet as well. These are “clean” and the dark wash makes them easy to dress up if you’d like. The raw hem is subtle. For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4 (not petite), but I think a 6p would work on me too.

The booties…
Mine are the “light brown”, but there are several other very similar neutrals to choose from as well as white, cognac, black, snakeskin and others. The block heel, the pointy toe, and the deep cut out on the side all look awesome. And listen, I clicked around, and all sizes and colors appear to be UNDER $50. What a deal!
I think they are quite comfortable and they are true to size for me. If you are often between sizes, I think I would recommend going down 1/2 a size.

But let’s get to the bag, because it’s the star of today’s show.

This is going to be a great year round bag for me.

Now listen, I hate to draw your attention to this…but the lint all over my sweater needs a mention. On this particular day I shot tons of looks, most for the upcoming launch of the STMT x Victoria Emerson holiday bracelet collection. Well, I had a ton of outfits thrown in the back of my car, and apparently my car has tons of lint in it. You couldn’t even tell there was anything on my sweater in real life, but apparently the camera likes to really highlight the lint. #cool #enoughaboutthelint
These sunglasses are in my Top 3 favorite sunglasses of all times, and they are under $15!!! And the 2 pack with the tortoise and the black is now on sale for $16.99. They are a great dupe for the Karen Walker sunglasses that you see everywhere that are $300.

I’m sure y’all remember the cheetah bracelet from my fall bracelet launch with Victoria Emerson. And how fun is my new colorful stretch bracelet from Kendra. I think they look great together.

While grabbing the link, I learned some cool stuff about the bag.
First of all, it’s made exclusively for Anthropologie by Urban Originals. And I love that the brand takes pride in creating stylish, luxe-looking bags and accessories out of sustainable and recycled materials. They are even endorsed by PETA and their entire collection is certified vegan.
There is one outer snap pocket, one inner slip, and a 4 card slip pocket. It has a zip closure, the embroidered strap is adjustable, and you can even switch out straps for different straps/patterns.
Oh, one more thing, it’s officially called a sling bag.

Here’s what I think about my sling bag…
It’s a fashion statement…
But it is also super convenient.
And I dig things that check both form and function boxes.

And the sneakers y’all.
They are so so good.
They are perfectly neutral, classic, and a tiny bit sporty. I had other leather DV sneakers last year (they had neon yellow and neon pink on them with leopard accents), and I wore the heck out of them. I LOVE THEM, but I thought it would be nice to have a more neutral option. Last year I bought my regular size, but I ended up wishing I’d sized down a 1/2. Since they are leather, they stretched out a bit, so I sized down a 1/2 in these. If you aren’t often between sizes, it’s probably not necessary
And listen, even though I can’t guarantee it will work for you, I was able to take it into our high school football stadium! Small bags are allowed in our stadium, and I feared this one was going to be too big, but they let me in. I was pumped because I hadn’t been able to find a clear bag that I liked.

And you’ve got options!
Below you can see 4 out of the 5 embroidered strap options. There’s also a black one.
AND CHECK THESE OUT!!!!
They didn’t have these studded babies in store. In fact, I didn’t even know they were an option until I was grabbing the link for mine on Friday, BUT LOOK HOW CUTE!
I love my embroidered strap, but if you are worried about the versatility of an embroidered strap, grab one of these studded bags! I’m kind of obsessed with the black one. And by “kind of” obsessed, I mean super obsessed.
And just in case you’re interested in a cross body bag, but a sling bag isn’t for you, these bags just popped up yesterday at one of my favorite boutiques…
They’re obviously much bigger, but I still love the straps.
That’s all for today, y’all!
So what do you think? Are you a sling bag kind of girl? Are you going to give it a whirl? Sound off in the comments!

I like the concept of this bag but It would have been super helpful to show the inside of the sling bag as well as just how to style it.
