Happy Wednesday, Everybody! It’s time to join up today with Shay and me to let everybody know WHAT’S UP this fine Wednesday!
Let’s get right to it!
*WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT*
First of all, I’m excited (AND SO SURPRISED) that some of my favorite items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale are still available. You need to make sure you grab at least 3 of these (only 2 colors left, so I don’t think they’ll last much longer) and grab a handful of these (they are my favorite undies). Also, I liked my neutral pair of sneakers so much I also picked them up in leopard when I saw they were still available. I haven’t had a chance to style them in outfits yet, but I hope I’m going to love them. I already know they are crazy comfy (and true to size).
And I don’t know how, but my favorite jacket from the sale is still available. Click HERE to see me in it! And just fyi, my post on Friday will highlight everything that’s still available in the sale that I think is worth buying.
Secondly, I’m so happy and excited for one of my sister’s childhood friends. Courtney (my sister’s friend) and Kendra (Courtney’s little sister) just started a vintage rug business! It’s called Two Sisters Vintage Rugs, and I’m thrilled to be sharing the business with you today. Courtney and Kendra are both nurses (Courtney lives in Dallas and Kendra lives in Denver) and they had a dream to start a business that would enable them to share beautiful rugs at affordable prices.
THE RUGS ARE ALL ONE OF A KIND, AND THEY ARE STUNNING.
Their beautifully curated inventory is always available for purchase on their website, but they also have new drops that they will advertise each week on instagram. The new drops will be teased starting Monday morning and then released every Monday at 7:00 p.m. CST. They typically have at least 6 new rugs each week, and they offer a mix of area rugs, runners, and mini rugs or doormats.
And I’ve got great news! They are running a giveaway today for the fabulous mini rug you see below! Isn’t it GORGEOUS?!? All you have to do is hop over to their ig account (the giveaway will open at 7:00 a.m. CST on Wednesday morning ) and do the following:
1) Follow their page (@twosistersrugs)! Their ig page isn’t even a month old quite yet, but you won’t believe the amount of inspiration you’ll get when scrolling their feed!
2) Make sure you are following my page (@sheaffertoldmeto).
2) Comment on this picture in THEIR feed.
3) For additional entries, tag as many friends as you want, but make each tag a separate entry. Ex. If you tag 10 friends on 10 separate lines, you will get 10 additional entries! (If you tag 10 friends on 1 line, you will only get 1 additional entry.)
The giveaway winner will be randomly selected from the comments on their feed. So….the more tags you leave, the more entries you will get! The giveaway will end on Friday at midnight, and the winner will be contacted on Saturday!
Here’s my new Two Sisters rug in my home. I fell in love with the colors the moment Courtney sent me the pic, and I knew it would look great in our little butler’s pantry. Since all of their rugs are one of a kind, you can have full confidence that you are getting a truly special piece for your home.
I love this mini rug, and it certainly inspires me to want to add a larger Two Sisters rug to my collection. I don’t love the rug that is currently in our family room, so I’ll certainly be tuning in to their drops every week until I find the perfect one!
I’m so happy to own this 1 of a kind rug, and I really love knowing that it came from 2 sweet sisters that I’ve known their entire lives!
Don’t forget to head to @twosistersrugs to enter the giveaway!
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
We always love a good comparison picture over here, and this is Carter on the 1st day of 5th grade on the left and the 1st day of 6th grade on the right. Look at where his shoulders hit on the door for growth! And look how much darker his hair is! And let’s all wonder together where in the world his baby face has gone.
Carter sure has missed time with friends, but we got to finally see some friends last week, and it was so fun listening to them catch up over swimming and pizza.
WHAT I’M LOVING
After so many weeks of covering the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I’ve been having a lot of fun shopping Amazon and Walmart for some seriously inexpensive finds! I’ve also placed orders with Anthropologie and Loft, so get ready for those reviews soon as well.
I’ll start with an Amazon find. You saw this dress styled for Summer last week (with sandals), but I wanted to show how easily it will transition into Fall with a denim jacket and booties. The dress is freaking adorable and it’s crazy soft with a great little puff sleeve. For size reference, I’m wearing the small. It also comes in a white and black stripe, a solid black, and a handful of other choices.
When you throw the denim jacket on top, you don’t get to see the adorable little puff sleeves, but it’s still a great look! I’ve received countless messages about this dress. Everybody that has purchased it loves it!
puff sleeve dress/ denim jacket / tassel necklace / neutral block heel booties “tortilla suede”
Here’s a close up of the tassel necklace. It’s made up of beautifully muted amazonite beads and a neutral tassel at the bottom. This necklace is an incredible value at just under $13. I wore it with several different outfits on last Friday’s post, and I’ve styled it again today with the above dress.
I’m pumped about a couple of these next finds.
The earrings, necklace, and black jeans are all still available in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The prices will go back up on Monday, so don’t delay if you are wanting any of them.
The denim shirt is from Amazon and the black studded flats are from Walmart!!!
The denim shirt comes in 3 washes, and I’m in the medium wash. It’s 100% cotton, machine washable, and quite soft for a denim shirt. It feels much more like a chambray and isn’t stiff at all. It has snaps instead of buttons, and I adore the relaxed fit. I’m in the medium and there’s PLENTY of room. In fact, it even seems to be long enough that it will work with leggings for most of us!
Okay, y’all. These flats are ONLY $9. NINE DOLLARS. FOR REAL.

They come in a plain cognac too, although the solid cognac are a whopping $14.
These flats are true to size and quite comfy after you get them on. The sides are kind of stiff when putting them on, but once they are on, the stiffness doesn’t bother me. I am a little worried about them stretching out on the sides after extended wear, but I’m willing to risk that for the price!
cognac flats / black studded flats
This sweater is lightweight and a perfect transitional piece of clothing. I really like the style and fit, but I’m a little worried how it’s going to hold up after multiple washes. Nobody has left reviews on how it launders yet. I can’t decide if I want to keep it or not, but I will definitely report back on laundering if I do. If you happen to already have this sweater, please leave a comment about how it holds up in the wash. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
My black jeans and slip on sneakers are both still available in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

This beaded bracelet set is absolutely gorgeous. The natural stones are beautiful and they look so lovely stacked with the silver plated bead bracelets that also come in the set. This stack has an elephant charm on it, but it’s on the other side of the bracelet. Click through to see it and the other color options.

WHAT I’M EATING
So I’m eating this little salmon bowl on repeat over here. I could seriously eat it every day.
It’s air fryer salmon (with EBTB seasoning and fresh lemon), roasted Brussels sprouts, cherry tomatoes and Kalamata olives, sliced avocado, and a couple of generous dollops of Boar’s Head Tzaziki dip.
The Everything But The Bagel Seasoning and olives both came from Trader Joe’s. I grabbed the Tzatziki dip at Market Street (the brand is Boar’s Head and I found it by the hummus).
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
Brody (my nephew) turned 7 a couple of weeks ago, so we went over to his house with just family to celebrate the birthday boy! We had to get a pic of all the boys together.
Brody (7), Bennett (almost 11 months), Carter (almost 12)
Bennett boy is a precious little squish.
Dude and Juji with their 3 boys.
WHAT WE ARE DOING THIS WEEKEND
We are headed to the ranch and I couldn’t be more excited.
WHAT I’M WATCHING
I’m watching all the Bravo over here. Judge away. 😉 I binge watched Million Dollar Listing New York the other day, and it was awesome.
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
Zoom calls in the background ALL. DAY. LONG.
But my goodness, I am so impressed with all of Carter’s teachers. The way they are handling all of the kid’s questions, all of the technology issues, and all of the total newness of teaching online is nothing short of incredible.
I’m proud of Carter too, but things have gone relatively smoothly for him only because of all of the teacher preparation that’s been happening behind the scenes. So, THANK YOU TEACHERS!
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
Ladies, I finally got a stick vacuum, and I’m OBSESSED. I’m working on a review post that will go live next week. Why in the world did it take me so long to get one of these babies?
WHAT I’M WEARING
When I grabbed the cognac flats and the studded flats from Walmart, I also got this $10 sweatshirt!
It’s lightweight, so it’s perfect to throw on this time of year when the air is cranked up inside. I love the color combo of the stripes. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium for a relaxed fit.
striped sweatshirt / blingy hoop earrings / favorite denim shorts
But the outfit uniform I’m wearing again and again consists of several different tees and my favorite denim shorts. Both colors of the Wit and Wisdom animal print tee and the leopard and black tees (from the Amazon 2 pack) are the tees that are in constant rotation for me right now.
I think this animal print tee is fabulous, and I love both colors. This shirt looks great with denim shorts (seen below), but it truly is the PERFECT fall tee as well. It’s going to look awesome with dark wash denim or black jeans and booties!
The small was too tight on me in the chest, so I grabbed a medium. If you’re long waisted, this tee might not work for you, but it’s plenty long for me to still easily do a half tuck.
Don’t make me pick a favorite. I cannot.

This leopard tee comes in a 2 pack with a plain black tee, and if you’re like me, you can always use another plain black tee. You really need to go check out all of the color combinations available!
leopard tee / statement earrings / dainty necklace / link bracelets / denim shorts /neutral patent sandals (size up a 1/2)
Here’s the awesome solid black tee. It’s a perfect basic for your closet.
And look at sweet Charlie in the background. He looks sad, but it was only because I was delaying his daily walk by like 2 minutes. #hekeepsatightschedule

Nordstrom’s DEAL OF THE DAY is a really great one! It’s this awesome Madewell cross body bag with a DARLING cross body strap. I’ll update the post with links and a picture as soon as they release the deal (usually around 9:30 a.m. CST). Click HERE and grab it before it’s gone!
One more thing…

Where is your rug from thats under your dining table??
I’ve been getting this question a lot! I got it at HomeGoods, but I’m going to try to find a label and track down a source. I’ll keep you posted! xoxo

please do! Been looking for something exactly like that!

All the rugs!!!! I’m having a moment now with rugs…and those are so fantastic!
It’s crazy how much they grow in just one short year isn’t it? Last school year my middle son grew more than 6 inches– 6! Now at 14 he’s already 6 feet tall.
Ooooooh! I have the same stick vacuum and I LOVE IT! Couldn’t make myself shell out $$$ for a Dyson but this one works soooooo well!
I’m so happy to hear you say this, Shaunna! We were skeptical, but we are now believers!!!!! It’s SO GOOD!!!! xoxo
You can air fry salmon?!?! How high and how long? That sounds amazing!!!
Hi, Alicia! YES! And it’s delicious!!!! I put it on 400, and then the amount of time varies depending on the thickness. I think it’s typically around 10 minutes or so, but I just keep checking! It’s SO GOOD!!!
Oh my gracious – Carter has grown and changed so much in a year. I love a good first day of school comparison!
OOOHHHH… I got those leopard booties and they are sooooo good!
Holy cow, I can’t believe how much older and different Carter looks in ONE YEAR! It’s truly amazing how fast kids change and grow.

Thank you!! I’m a sucker for any and all denim shirts and this one fits the bill!
As you’re doing a Loft post in the near future, I thought these green beauties might be right up your alley! 🙂
Gail! I have them already! They sold out right when I got them, but I guess they were restocked. I love them!!! xoxo
Carter is growing up quick! Very handsome.
What is Million Dollar listing NYC on?
Hi, Lynn! It’s on BRAVO!
I bought the olive Wit and Wisdom leopard top and LOVE it! I couldn’t decide what color to get either lol. And I own a few pairs of their jeans now thanks to your recs! 🙂 Love that brand!!
Hi Sheaffer, I have that V neck sweater in the wine color. I do like it but it definitely stretches out over time. It did wash fine though. I washed in the dryer on cold and air dryed it flat. Looking back I wish I had ordered the XS rather than the S because the stretch factor. You and I have a pretty similar shape/size. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the feedback, Keri!!! Good info for sure! xoxo
