Can
somebody please hand me a dictionary and a pillow?
you’re handing me a dictionary and a pillow, you might as well hand me
something mixed with a little bit of vodka too. Because after that pre-show, mama needs some vodka.
And let me add a little disclaimer here….I’m fully aware it’s ABC that’s responsible for THE AWKWARD. Sean and Catherine were lovely.
If you are here visiting for the first time, this is normally a style blog, but every Thursday I recap The Bachelor. I started doing this a couple of years ago during Sean’s season because Sean’s big sister Shay (you might recognize her from being the HOTTEST bridesmaid in the line-up full of seriously pretty girls) is one of my besties!
Shay, I would like to use this opportunity to point out that you are probably THE OLDEST person in this picture. So, you can now feel my pain.
(Gosh, it feels get to make an old joke instead of being the punch line.)
😉
And just for fun (in case you haven’t seen the other 36 times I’ve posted it),
this pic was taken at a watch party at Shay’s house during Emily’s season.
Speaking of Shay, you OF COURSE want to also check out her blog for a personal recap of the entire wedding weekend as well as some behind the scenes picture!
Part 1 HERE (arrival and rehearsal dinner)
Part 2 HERE (wedding day, ceremony, and reception)
Just try to imagine how much fun she had! And then multiply that times like 10,000.
Anyway, we have A LOT of fun over here on Bachelor Days!
BUT TODAY IS ALL ABOUT SEAN AND CATHERINE!
Today I will recap the wedding ceremony as well as the pre-show leading up to the wedding.
I thought about recapping the pre-show with the following bullet points and calling it a day:
- grown sexy
- confusion
- grown sexy
- awkward
- grown sexy
- lingerie shopping
- grown sexy
- budoire photos
- grown sexy
- honeymoon suite preparation cam
- and then grown sexy another 800ish times
Yep, that about sums up the pre-show.
However, I will dive a bit deeper into it right now, as long as you are prepared for lots of shy moments and PLENTY of awkward to go around.
You might want to grab a pillow yourself.
And your adult beverage of choice.
The show opens up with Sean and Catherine setting off on a road trip from California to Dallas.
They are so cute in the car together and we all get to see them just be a normal couple, which is nice! This is where Catherine drops the bomb that she wants the wedding to be the following:
1) grown sexy
2) whimsical
3) romantic
I think I speak not just for Sean, but for all of America when I say we can get on board
with #2 and #3…
but we are all left scratching our heads a bit with the idea of “grown sexy”.
Why couldn’t she have just said “sexy”?
“Sexy” we get.
“Sexy” we understand.
“Sexy” we can support.
But “grown sexy”?
Was she afraid she might confuse people and that we might think she was
talking about “kid sexy” or “baby sexy”?
I feel that when talking about “sexy”, the fact that it is “grown” is implied.
Am I right?
After reading lots of comments and e-mails, I’m now beginning to understand that “grown sexy” really means “sophisticated sexy”! OF COURSE! Now THAT makes sense!
We then got to see Sean and Catherine at his parent’s house announcing the wedding date.
There were several sweet moments, but at the top of the list is Sean asking Jay to perform the ceremony. He was so obviously touched and it was just precious to watch.
Another top moment for me?
Seeing Shay in the Pinterest Told Me To MUST HAVE jacket.
There were lots of facebook posts, tweets, and e-mails about this, and I was just tickled that you all recognized the jacket.
🙂
We were 22 minutes in to the show when Harrison (who was doing a bang up job of channeling a golf announcer) first mentioned that Sean and Catherine were both saving themselves for marriage.
I LOVE this, think it’s awesome in fact, and I was even happy Harrison mentioned it.
I was however less than pleased that it was mentioned another 76 times after that.
We get it.
They made the decision to hold off on doing the Big Wiggle (what my high school
Young Life leader called it). 🙂
Let’s high five them for that decision (and be happy that all of America gets to see what they stand for!) but then let us all MOVE. ON.
And SHAME ON ABC for making us hear the term “grown sexy” around 845 times.
I know that sounds like a large number, but I think it’s fairly accurate.
The only thing that beats that number is the number of times I JUST ABOUT DIED FROM AWKWARD during the pre-show, because I think that was around 923.
Catherine meets with her wedding planner, Mindy Weiss (planner to the stars) and tries to help Mindy understand her vision. Somebody needs to hand Mindy a dictionary too, because she’s with the rest of us on the confusion scale. She did impart the knowledge to Catherine that sometimes sex in your mind is better than the actual deal.
Um, Mindy.
Nobody wants to hear that.
And ABC…..
Nobody wants to see a shot of the honeymoon suite being prepped for The Big Wiggle.
It’s just creepy.
Her mama was very sweet.
I thought the boob interaction was hilarious when Catherine blamed her mom for her girls. 🙂
Next up, we see Sean heading into La Perla.
Somebody hand me a pillow QUICK!
Now I’m just going to bullet point the rest of the awkward.
*
The sales lady said the red bra feels “nice on the skin” and told Sean to “not be afraid to touch things”. Sean rubbed the bra.
I died.
The term “easy access” is used to describe one of the pieces as the crotchal area was highlighted.
Sean nodded and repeated, “mm-hm. Easy access.”
I died.
They showed the honeymoon suite getting prepped. again.
I died.
*
Sean gave Catherine the lingerie he picked out, and they both got a bad case of the giggles.
Like a really bad case of the giggles.
And I died.
*
Catherine tells her friend that she is going to take budoir photos for Sean.
I thought about dying.
And then when they practiced how she was going to lay on the bed for said photos?
Yep. You guessed it. I died.
*
Catherine said the lingerie is going to be like “fancy icing” for her body.
And I died again. Really hard this time.
*
Catherine compares herself to a butterfly that is about to expose herself.
That’s right. I died.
*
Okay….ALL OF THE AWKWARD IS OVER PEOPLE!
Put up your dictionary and set the pillow aside.
It’s time for the GORGEOUS ceremony.
Andrew (Shay’s hubby) prayed over Sean with the other guys, and it was the first moment in a long time that I didn’t feel like dying.
I was so appreciative.
Thank you Andrew!
AND LET ME SAY THIS….
THE ACTUAL WEDDING CEREMONY MAKES UP FOR EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF
“WHAT THE WHAT?” THAT THE PRE-SHOW PROVIDED.
Because the ceremony?
The ceremony was BEAUTIFUL, PERSONAL, and CHRIST-CENTERED.
It was PERFECTION.
Catherine was absolutely GORGEOUS, and Sean was as sweet as could be.
Shay was HOT, her hubby was oh so handsome, and her kids were DARLING.
Mama Sherry was A VISION!
And Papa Jay should officiate ceremonies on live t.v. for a living.
Because he ROCKED it.
First of all, the wedding venue was unbelievable.
I tried to find a picture of just the setting, but I couldn’t.
Just picture “grown sexy”.
he, he, he
Sean escorted his sweet parents down the aisle.
I MEAN. HOW CUTE ARE THEY?!?
Sherry looked so SOOOOO pretty. Her hair was fabulous and I absolutely loved her dress!
Shay and Andrew walked down the aisle, and HOLY HOTNESS.
(A little behind the scenes: Jose Eber and his team did everybody’s hair and he told Shay that her hair was “made for beachy waves”. Seriously Jose. Tell us something we don’t know.)
FYI, all of our friends were group texting before and during the ceremony. This was the group text going around after we begged Shay to send us a pic of herself after hair and make-up.
Erika and Andrea always make me laugh!
Well, after seeing Shay and Andrew, it should be no surprise to anyone that their children are
THE PICTURE OF DARLING.
Smith was just as cute as can be.
And sweet Kensington looked like a little angel.
Shay, you should know that I prayed those kids down the aisle.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t just a teeny tiny bit scared that one or both of them might freeze under the pressure.
And now LOOK AT CATHERINE.
GORG.
WOWZA.
And here’s a close up.
Here’s Sean catching his first glimpse!
And now it’s time to introduce the star of the show, that’s right…..
Papa Jay!
Another little behind the scenes tidbit: Papa Jay came down with a serious stomach bug the night before the wedding. Shay sent out a group text asking for prayers, and this is what our Smarty Pants friend Andrea replied. I only wish I had thought of it myself. 🙂
Hilarious, right?
Jay starts by saying,
“You are the best son a father could have. Most importantly, I have watched you your whole life live out your faith in Jesus Christ. With no waivering and no exceptions. And I am so proud of you son.”
TEARS.
He says sweet things to Catherine too and everybody just looks so incredibly happy.
Sean and Catherine each recite their own vows, and it’s just so beautiful.
She says he’s the bug to her light.
Weird imagery, but at least I understood it. It was sweet.
You can just about FEEL THE LOVE coming out of the t.v. screen.
These two have it bad for each other and it was so neat to see!
And then Jay says what I think is THE MOST IMPORTANT part of the entire evening.
He says,
“Love God the most, and you will love each other more!”
WOW!
What an amazing message to be on National T.V.!
And then when Papa Jay announced them as Mr. and Mrs. Sean Lowe, he was SO STINKIN’ CUTE!
He kind of 1/2 shouted and he threw his hand up in the air out of excitement.
I loved it!
TAKE A SECOND TO SOAK IN ALL OF THE GORGEOUS
These two are going to have some pretty babies.
BEST. WEDDING. PICTURE. EVER.
And this is neither here nor there but I would kill for her arms.
Look at her tiny little arm.
And while we’re at it, I want her glowy skin too.
And her tiny little waist.
Oh…and her hair.
I definitely want her hair.
And then our boy Sean ABSOLUTELY LOST IT walking out of the ceremony.
So incredibly sweet.
And I’m not sure you caught this, but in the last 30 seconds of the show, Chris Harrison says he hopes the wedding lived up to Catherine’s expectations of Grown Sexy.
Ashley Rosenbaum became America’s voice when she looks over at her hubby and asks, “What does
that mean???”
WE DON’T KNOW ASHLEY!
We just don’t know.
We are so happy you have found Catherine and finally get to start your life together.

Your post. So hilarious. I died. I'm glad I wasn't the only one confused about "grown sexy."
Sherrie says
This is hilarious! Just wanted to let you know that the linen blazer is back on Nordstrom in white, oatmeal, black and navy!
Slightly Askew Designs says
LOOOOOOOOOVED this!!!! Thank God for group text… can I get an Amen!?!?! Loved the screen shot of Mindy Weiss and the shot of Jay fist pumping after the ceremony. Love your recaps and think this one will probably be "un-toppable". 🙂
Meagan @ The Clanahan Fam says
Hilarious! I had to fast-forward through the lingerie and photo shoot prep. Couldn't take it. At all. But the ceremony? I cried. My husband walked in and looked at me like I was a crazy person. But Papa Jay? His words? Melted me. I wanted to fist bump ABC for "letting him" spread God's true message of marriage like he did. Awesome.
Michelle Nobbe says
You never disappoint! I always look forward to your posts but especially the recaps! I even get to school a few minutes early every morning to read yours and Shay's blogs. Those and my daily devotion get me started on the right foot. Thank you!
hillary says
Superb recap!! You did not disappoint!
MorganizewithMe says
LOL! Hilarious post per usual. You are such a fab writer. I haven't yet seen the wedding but good to know I will need to bring my pillow along! ABC should hire you stat! They need your journalism skills. xoxo
A/S/K says
Funny, Funny, Funny!
I wanted you to comment on the owl sound with the camera shot on the hotel suite at the very end. My husband said, "you have to turn this off".
Loved your post!
April Parrish says
"Grown Sexy" should now forever be a staple phrase on your blog!
You should put together some great finds for us ladies to look, "Grown Sexy!"
Loved the wedding and Papa Jay especially! He did awesome! Shay was stunning!
Love those boots and the price is amazing! I must go check those out!
Have a great day!
Julie Connelly says
LOOOOOVE your recap!!! It was hilarious, like always!! And I'm pretty sure you are right on about how many times grown sexy was said & how many AWKWARD moments there were. But the ceremony was nothing short of gorgeous. I just think it's so sweet how emotional Sean got & Papa Jay, well, he was nothing short of awesome!!!
Anonymous says
To be fair to Catherine, she didn't invent "grown sexy" – it's actually pretty popular terminology in young urban and professional crowds (pretty easy to find various definitions online). So while it may have been unfamiliar to some, there were also plenty of people in America who knew exactly what she was referring to…and she NAILED it!!! And now you all know what it means too 🙂 Kudos to Catherine for being cross-cultural and making her wedding inclusive for people of ALL demographics who were just as excited to see this beautiful couple (inside and out) get married!
Casey says
It's not even so much the term "grown sexy" as how much they focused on the sex they were going to have their wedding night. Very uncomfortable. But the wedding was beautiful and Papa Jay did such a wonderful job! Loved it!
sally isleta says
got a colic laughing at your blog Shaeffer…..keep it coming!!!!
british rocking cow says
That was really funny! thanks Shay for recommending it!

Un-toppable….I agree 🙂
clatk says
Hysterical! Thank you for this! I, too, wanted to hide under my couch a few times, ok, a lot of times ;)! But, oh my, I do love when the message of saving yourself and being FREAKING excited about it, is shared. Truly. And the ceremony was beautiful! Shay, I just love your sweet family and am thankful you shared them with us all.
Marty says
I completely agree with everything you said about the wedding. The pre-show? Some things just don't need to be for our ears…or eyes. I would not want to even think about gettin my wiggle on in a room where TV cameras…and CHRIS HARRISON…had been. I kept hoping that the Honeymoon suite they were showing was a decoy. Please no one tell me any different. I thought the ceremony was God-honoring and beautiful, but could someone have gotten Catherine a tissue? Sean? Papa Jay? Anyone? Because LIVE TV. Guess that's just the Mom in me. Anyway, the only other thing is why were they standing so far apart? TV shots, maybe? Look at Catherine…she is having to reeeeeeeaaaaaaaacccccchhhh all the way across the stage to hold Sean's hands. MOVE CLOSER. And I agree with your friend who commented about the owl. And the train sound at the end? Really? NO.
Rebecca Jo says
Perfect review of a beautiful… & awkward… evening 🙂
Alison @ Get Your Pretty On says
I read every word of the recap and re-lived every cringe-worthy moment of 'grown sexy'. You captured it perfectly. 🙂 Loved the totally classy and completely gorgeous wedding though. God created some amazing people in that Lowe family. So beautiful inside and out!
Kathy Stevens says
Your recap…nailed it! Funniest one yet. I loved when Ashley said, "what does that mean?". Thanks for sharing your behind the scenes group texts, y'all are so funny! And thanks for all the style tips you give, I love all your posts!
Stacy P. says
As someone who doesn't watch The Bachelor, I so appreciate the recaps! The wedding looked lovely, the fact that his dad officiated was sweet and Shay's family is so precious.
Thanks for sharing!
Sarah E @ theteacherswife.com says
Such a funny recap and I totally agree about the first half. I love that they chose to wait, but I have no idea why ABC felt the need to make it the highlight of the pre-show…enough already! And I chuckled at the honeymoon suite cam and the sweet housekeeper lady who was getting it ready…ridiculously overboard! But, I loved watching the wedding – they are a great couple and Christ was lifted up, which was awesome! Thanks for another fun post! 🙂
Alice says
So when is your funeral because you DIED as many times as the word "Grown Sexy" was said! HAHA!!! I want Papa Jay to officiate my wedding. I agree with you about ABC making it so awkward leading up to the ceremony. But I am so glad that it showed Andrew praying and Catherine getting a Bible and just everything that Jay said!
Jackie T. says
Hearing the term "love sprinkles" during the vows was also a first! It was a beautiful wedding and a beautiful couple inside and out.
I noticed the Kut denim jacket right away and knew you'd be proud Scheaffer!
Maggie Kosciolek says
bahaha hilarious!!!! i felt like dying a few times too
Elizabeth says
This is AMAZING! Thank you! I agree…I felt awkward during pretty much the whole pre-show. I could have used a pillow! And the fact that they kept showing "where the magic would happen" was way disturbing. The wedding was BEAUTIFUL though and Jay did an AMAZING job. He should do weddings on TV for a living! Lol. I love your recaps… You take the words right out of my mouth! 🙂
Jen says
I just ordered a pair of Saevon Boots, my first Nordstrom purchase. I can Not wait to wear them with my Hue leggings, just as comfy as pajamas and yet I feel so put together and stylish in them. Thanks for the tip, Shaeffer! You are a shopping savior!
Kim Kauffman says
Sheaffer, I think this was the best and funniest recap ever! Seriously so awkward but then the wedding made up for it all! Totally unrelated but last night my hubby told me he has to go to Texas next week for a business trip and I found out it's in your neck of the woods (Plano)! So wish I could tag along with him for a long weekend and check out your adorable looking town! 🙂
Audra Kelly says
I giggled throughout your entire recapped and totally "died" each time you did when I watched! So happy for this family!
Dana Frieling says
Okay, so I jumped off the Bachelor bandwagon a handful of years ago but now I'm sad I missed Sean's season after reading this post. So fun!
Katie Woodworth says
I got the Ellerby boots for Christmas and I love them! They are so classic and trendy at the same time, and they match with literally everything!
Melanie Lien says
I LOVED Papa Jay! And I almost lost it when Sean lost it walking out of the ceremony. I talk to my husband about my blogs like their people I know so it was fun to show him who some of them were! Such a great recap Sheaffer!
{Hi Sugarplum!} says
Such a great re-cap! It really was a joy to watch them!
Darcy says
I didn't get to watch the wedding on TV (we've been busy on the ranch calving heifers) but your recap was hilarious to read (the first part) and touching at the end. Thanks!
Jen Pogue says
Each time you "died," I did too! Could ABC have made that any more awkward? Probably not. The honeymoon suite cam was beyond words. What in the world? I agree with you, once it got past all that, the wedding was so sweet! I loved how Shay's dad focused on Jesus being #1 in a marriage for it to work, which is the truth! And, Sean & Catherine looked so happy!
Unknown says
I didn't see the pre-show to hear the 'grown sexy" but have to hope she meant like a grown up classy sexy version rather than the music industry trashy sexy.
kristinwithani says
You voiced what so many of us were thinking. I so could have done without the whole first hour. ABC acted like they were aliens for waiting till marriage for sex. Oy.
The ceremony was beautiful.
Liz/happymommy says
I think I died seriously as many times as you did during the pre-cermony show and for you to actually know him in person I can only imagine you died a little bit more than I did….eeek, that was a little much! Although I did enjoy watching them at his parents house and Catherine dress shopping, that was fun….mostly to see Shay's family and her sweet mama dress shopping with Catherine, I mean how can you not love the Lowe and Shull families….it's like impossible! Papa Jay was definetly the star of that show….I mean come on, he is the sweetest and cutest man and the ceremony he performed was PERFECTION, he for sure rocked that! Sean and Catherine were absolutely stunning and the whole ceremony was so Beautiful! I just loved seeing how in love they are with each other and pray for many, many happy years together for them!!! Thanks for your hilarious (and this time half super sweet) recap once again!!!
emnitu says
Loved watching their wedding! I noticed that none of the comments posted mentioned the picture of Sean. The one you have up is from his season, not his wedding. He wore a bow tie.
Jackie T. says
I think that photo was in reference to him actually catching his first glimpse of Catherine as she stepped out of the limo on his Bachelor season, not of the wedding.
Erin says
Wow, you nailed it! This recap was dead on – and you said so many things I was thinking!! I found myself laughing out loud multiple times while reading! 🙂
Mandy S. says
Perfect recap! That is exactly what I was thinking. All of it. I think I told my husband 3000 times that I don't think I can continue to watch. Luckily the wedding itself made up for the AWKWARD. It was so beautiful and touching.
Meghan Glidden says
laughed out loud- very good recap 🙂
Diana B. says
Hey, Can anyone recommend blogs which cover fashionable, tasteful clothes for men? Real men. (as opposed to fake ones) Thanks.
Andrea Worley says
Nailed it!
Oh my goodness I about died during the sean shopping for Catherine bit! I kept thinking..why oh why..but then i remembered it's tv and they are gonna do stupid things like that for tv. and then it made me wonder if Sean had a choice in that or not. I always wonder how much the bride + groom have a say in their tv wedding plans, etc.
Any way Papa Jay did an amazing job, and it was so refreshing to see such a Christ centered ceremony on tv. I'm pretty sure the producers didn't know what to do with themselves but it was AWESOME!!
Shay was beautiful, her whole family rocked it! And Sean and Catherine are the cutest.
Hannah, Here! says
Great recap…I thought the first 90 minutes of the special were incredibly awkward and such a bummer that ABC decided to focus on the fact that they'd be doing "the big wiggle" that night instead of the fact that they're in love and starting a life together.
Also, I just wanted to point out that your pic of Sean when he first sees Catherine is from The Bachelor. At the wedding, he's wearing a bow tie and in that picture he's wearing a neck tie. His reaction was so sweet though, how he teared up when she started down the aisle!
Andrea - Would Rather Be Shopping says
With all of this wedding excitement where's the picture of your "grown sexy" wedding? 😀 I'd love to see your must have dress!
Kimberly says
Were you reading my tweets on Sunday night?!?!?! 🙂 I totally caught Ashley asking "What does that mean?" And I said "I don't believe we should have like CHILD sexy. . . " Love your recap!!
Narci says
Just so, so funny!! I seriously laughed out loud so many times! Great recap, friend!
Olivia says
I completely agree about "grown sexy!" If she'd left off the "grown" part, it would've made more sense. I understood what she meant but it was a weird theme. What other kind of sexy would she have been talking about for her wedding?!
Brooklyn says
I actually kinda understood "grown sexy". It's not sexy. It's a type of sexy but with elegance and kinda understated. Not in your face sexy, you know? I do agree ABC showed her saying it a lot, but that was probably their goal! They wanted people to be confused so they'd pay attention more! Tricky producers. And I probably could've gone without seeing Sean at the lingerie store, major awkward when he touched the bra. I thought the ceremony was perfect too! So sweet.
Chic Coastal Living says
Love this recap! You are a hoot! XO, Desiree from Chic Coastal Living
Because Shanna Said So says
You are so lucky that you had the serious inside scoop on all this!! Are you still wondering where your invite was??? LOL! And the text about Papa Joe was hilarious! Glad he got better! They are seriously an adorable couple!!
Katie says
Oh man did you say EVERYTHING I was thinking! The pre-show was for sure awkward, and when I tried to tell my hubby about the theme (because he refused to watch : )) he was like "Grown Sexy? Isn't the grown part obvious haha. But I agree, the wedding itself completely made up for it and as a Christian, what a lovely example to see what it really is all about and on television no less! I mean when at the same time the Grammy's were happening on TV, with a whole lot of the opposite going on, it is nice to know that God's message can still come through!
Anonymous says
You are so funny, really enjoy your Bachelor recaps and the fashion tips. I thought those lingerie and sex focused things in the pre-show went overboard too. But it is TV and they need to make it exciting and interesting for the viewers, so I can see why they did that. The grown sexy theme, hmmm, I really didn't love that. Elegant and sexy, get that, but the catchy theme was a bit much. Hope Catherine doesn't feel bad for everyone bashing her theme and misunderstanding her. I kind of feel bad for her for that because this was her big day and everyone's making fun of that. But the wedding was very beautiful and so authentic, I love how it seemed like they forgot everyone was watching them and really got lost in their vows. And Sean's dad was so powerful saying that he was proud of Sean and the message he gave…really loved that.
Kellyann Rohr says
So glad I wasn't the only one creeped out by the honeymoon suite cam! I loved watching the wedding but wished we saw more of Shay! I had to keep reminding myself that it was her brother's wedding and it wasn't all about her! LOL
Lauren @ My Slice of Life says
Hilarious recap as always!!! It was like you read my mind about all the pre-wedding segments! Thank goodness the beautiful wedding more than made up for all the awkwardness!

Loved the entire recap!
SarahN says
Imagine watching that first 90 min with your 10 & 11 year old?!? I died a million times over!! I kept waiting for it it get better and it kept getting worse! But then the wedding was amazing and all was forgot. I cried like a baby and proceeded to get laughed at by said 10 & 11 year old ? I don't care. Papa Jay made my night and Sean and Catherine are not your average Hollywood couple. Those two are in it for the long haul. God Bless Them ?

I would like to know what Lovie, PaPa Jay, Shay and the other grandparents thought after they got to see the televised wedding. I have two sons and I do not want to ever have to see some of the things they will see when they watch that televised special. I especially don't want my son's fiancé talking about "grown sexy" over and over and over. Furthermore, I don't want to have to view their honeymoon suites. NEVER. AWKWARD!!! Beautiful ceremony though. Great job on the part of Sean's dad.
Julie Joy says
I. Am. Dying! Hilarious yet oh so truthful recap! I couldn't agree more! Soooo funny! All joking aside, it was an amazing wedding! Such a beautiful family as well! 🙂
klmoore23 says
A brillant post Shaeffer! I'm with you in the 'dying' aspect of the pre-show. But really? Are we surprised. America apparently couldn't handle a little God love at a wedding so had to balance things out. So excited to see what's coming on Tuesday!
Mike and Molly Spivey says
So, not trying to correct you – but the pic you put of Sean's first glimpse while Catherine walked down the aisle was not from the wedding – notice the tie!
Blue-Eyed Bride says
Sheaffer!!! I am DYING at all of your commentary and teared up a little, too. Loved this recap!!

I have been reading your blog since you started it. I must say, I believe this is your BEST post so far. It is well written, honest and funny! Are you ever around Catherine? If so, do you think you could get her to do a guest post and explain "grown sexy" to us? Maybe show us some "grown sexy" outfits? I just don't get it. LOL! Anyway, you have such a way with words. You should be writing for a magazine or something. You are AWESOME! Again, best post ever…brilliant!! You have outdone yourself with this one!!! I just cringe thinking about the pre-wedding things that were shown on the televised special. Someone needs to tell those producers that there is such a thing as too much information. TMI for me!!! AWKWARD!!!!

Yes, yes and YES!!! I'm still distracted with the grown sexy thing, but I was so excited and just in awe of Sean's dad as he officiated the wedding. What a timely message for America about the sanctity of marriage and a truth our world is desperately in need of . . . Love God the most, and you'll love him/her more! Thanks for helping me stay fashionable . . . but this is one of your best posts!

Great recap. Shame on The Bachelor's producers and ABC for airing this farce. I'm a fan of Sean and Catherine and i've been impatiently waiting for their wedding. This was not nice to watch. They are clever, sensitve , funny people and none of it was shown on this pre-show. I for one get the 'Grown Sexy' theme, Catherine explained it and it made perfect sense with who she is.Go to http://sophienettejc.thedeadone.net/ for genuine, gorge pictures of the newliweds with their families. I hope for their sake that they will be able to look back on their wedding day and forget about this disgrace.

Back on the 4Grown Sexy' thingy. Sean's quote on E!online:
So what does "Grown Sexy" actually mean?
Take it away, groom!
"Yeah, that was Catherine's doing, the 'Grown Sexy' theme, which I think is great," Lowe told us. "She wanted it to be very elegant and classy and kind of grown-up because the two of us are so silly. So she felt like this should be our coming out party as adults. I don't think I'll ever be an adult, but this is a good attempt."

I still have no idea what grown sexy is meant to be but the wedding sure was gorgeous! And as soon as I read this post I ran to my nearest Nordstrom for those EA boots and I may have picked up that striped cardigan too… As always, thanks for being my personal shopper!

Oh my gosh! This recap is HILARIOUS and all SO TRUE! I love how you kept it real about all of the "grown sexy" awkwardness and confusion. I blushed a lot and somehow dodged a lot of questions from my 5 year old daughter.
As far as the ceremony, "The ceremony was BEAUTIFUL, PERSONAL, and CHRIST-CENTERED.
It was PERFECTION." Couldn't agree more!
I love that Sean and Catherine saved themselves for marriage. What a great testimony!

Okay I need to know where Catherine's hot pink blazer is from that she wore when meeting the wedding planner. I mean, it's probably from the children's section and totally won't come in my size, but worth asking! 😉

I bought the saveon (is that what they are called?) based on your recommendation. well really based on the price! I love your style I just wanted to make a small request…as much as I wish I were as cute as you in all your clothes, I'm a bit (read quite a bit) bigger than you so I really appreciate it when you add plus size options! More of that please!

hahaha! You're too funny, LOVED this recap. Yeh Ashley was like "what does that mean?" and JP's just like "I don't know" (while still holding up his smile for the cameras).
