It’s My Birthday Week!!! #1 FAVORITE!!!

but I got a “Nordstrom Sale” e-mail in my inbox, and when Nordstrom calls, you know I answer.
I thought I would highlight some of the things that went on sale yesterday.

It’s Friday, and I am finally going to share my #1 Favorite!


FAVORITE #1:
It’s another tie!
MY FAVORITE OUTFIT and a MUST HAVE round up!

{I really tried to not have a tie for #1, but I couldn’t help it.  I just have too many FAVS!}

First, my favorite outfit.
Prior to Pinterest Told Me To, I didn’t own a neutral blazer.
However, I knew I loved my black blazer so much that when I started seeing the
 neutral version all over Pinterest, I was intrigued.
I
never imagined a neutral colored blazer could be so versatile, but my
girl Pinterest convinced me otherwise, so I bought one for myself! Pinterest is
just about as bossy as I am.

After purchasing my neutral blazer, I knew the middle picture was the one I wanted to recreate first.

The following outfit is MY #1 FAVORITE because I think it does a perfect job of encompassing exactly what this blog is all about and how it started: 
Taking an outfit I’ve pinned on Pinterest, 
and using it as a jumping board to create the outfit for myself.

This recreation is the perfect example of a simple outfit that I put together solely because of Pinterest.
It was an outfit that was a little out of the norm of what I would generally throw on, but Pinterest gave me “permission” to try it out….and once I put it together and wore it, I LOVED it.
That’s what this blog is all about!  Encouraging myself and others to step out of our fashion ruts!  🙂
So……without further ado….
 MY FAVORITE OUTFIT RECREATION OF MY FIRST BLOG YEAR!
The outfit was so SO simple:  a neutral blazer, dark jeans, a white t-shirt, and an edgy necklace.
SIMPLE, but AWESOME.

Now for my VERY FAVORITE THING that I do on this blog…
I wanted to do a review of my MUST HAVE items.

If you don’t know me personally, I need to tell you that I get positively giddy when I find an item that I want to name a MUST HAVE.
Just ask my hubby or my friends.
Postively. Giddy.
Some might say I go overboard.
I like to think of it as natural exuberance.  😉
I used to find things I personally loved, and I would question if I should make the item a MUST HAVE or not….but now I just know.
I know it sounds corny, but if I feel a certain way about an item now, I just trust my gut!
Now that I have 4 MUST HAVE items under my belt, items that you have all fallen in love with too and that I have received UNBELIEVABLY positive feedback about from you ladies…
I now know that if I like something a lot,  you will too!

So, I wanted to do a MUST HAVE round up to celebrate the blog!

It is lightweight, the material has the perfect amount of stretch in it, and it is such a cute fit.
Plus, I know some of you initially questioned the wash, but it really is perfection.

I don’t care if you already have a different denim jacket,  In fact, I don’t care if you have 4 other jackets.  THIS jacket really is superior to all others.  🙂

You guys.  This shirt is awesome.
It goes well with skinny jeans (it’s a great length to be worn out), but it is light enough that it could also be tucked in if you wish.

    I've been reading your blog since about February, and I can't get enough. I've never commented before, but it's time! I have all 4 MUST HAVE items, and I love every single one of them. I've had the wedges and the jacket for several months now, and they really are just as wonderful as you say. I get compliments on both of them all the time! I recently purchased the Vigoss jeans (they really are AWESOME!) and the must have shirt. I can tell they are both going to be 2 of my favorite fall items. In fact, I think I'm going to order the boot cut Vigoss now as well as a second color of the shirt. Have you seen the white in person? Anyway, love your blog and how it has overhauled my closet! My jean jacket came in yesterday and even my hubby was gushing over what an improvement it is over my old jean jacket (which I wasn't totally convinced of, until I saw it in person).     I'm a teacher and I can wear the wedges ALL DAY and my feet never hurt. They really are awesome. I also have the jacket. It's like the 5th denim jacket I've owned in my lifetime, and it's the best one by far. You know your stuff friend! I will be buying the jeans and the shirt next for sure.     I look forward to reading your blog every day and have been convinced to buy the must have wedges and the distressed jeans. They are both great! VERY tempted to buy more. We'll see how long I last 🙂 I have not been a Nordstrom shopper in the past because we do not have a store close by but I have been impressed with the ease of their online shopping and returns. I was a little sad that I haven't been able to get entries into the gift card contest because as far as I can tell the first entries to unlock the rest are using Facebook. I do not have a Facebook account.

    So glad you posted about the Nordstrom sale. I didn't get the email, but one of the cardigans I love is on sale. Need to stock up on some more colors.     Hate that the birthday week celebration is wrapping up! I have the jacket, jeans and shirt of the must haves. I also have a similar blazer–it had been in my closet since last year and I barely wore it. Now, it's in regular rotation. Love. Them. all. Those fab wedges were too snuggly for my slightly wide feet, and I'm not gonna lie, I cry a little bit every I read about them and realize I CAN'T HAVE THEM. Oh boy, here I go again.

    Hi Sheaffer! I've never stepped foot inside of a Nordstrom and never shopped there before your blog, but I have 3 out of the 4 MUST HAVES (don't have the shirt yet…but I will be getting it soon)! I also have several other things you've told us about: the wedge boots, the sequin bracelets, your military jacket from last year, the zig zag TOMS and the NARS lip gloss. I seriously love everything I've purchased based on your recommendation. You are like my personal shopper….or like my Nordstrom stylist! Keep on doing what you are doing. I bought nude flats which I NEVER would have purchased. with your posts I was able to recreate an outfit with a simple white dress on sale, my new nude flats, and a yellow sweater I already owned – free, and purchased a bubble statement necklace. I feel fabulous in it and get all kinds of compliments. I've examined my jewelry and added updated pieces as well as scarves, today I'm wearing a army green safari type vest with a white blouse which I already owned and based on your encouragement I have added an "edgy" statement necklace and hoop earings and with my nude flats, I feel very in. Thanks Shay! Oh and I added to my wardrobe a denim shirt which I have worn over a loud print maxi dress – free and again, I think I look more in style!! Yeah me and Yeah to Shay!

    What a fun birthday week you have had!! I have the oatmeal blazer and haven't worn it yet. I guess it may be our hot temps here in the south. Don't add any more clothing than you need. Do you think we can get away with it in the fall? I've always heard no linen after Labor Day. Also have the must have shirt and can't wait to start wearing it too.     I also own the putty wedges! And they are amazing. The first time I wore them was my birthday – I put them on before work (about 7:30AM) and wore them until about 2AM. And didn't feel a thing. Seriously most comfortable wedges ever 🙂

Love the jacket too because it is lightweight and perfect to wear here in hot, humid Florida. The shirt is awesome because it hangs just right when it's on and again super comfy.
