Friday Favorites: Getting Ready for Christmas!

 It’s Friday!
Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
And I don’t mean to throw you into full blown hysteria, but there’s something you need to know. 
They are 6 Fridays until Christmas.
I. KNOW.
It makes me SOOOOO excited and maybe just a tiny bit panicked at the same time!  
I’m going to do what I can today to help you continue to get ready for Christmas by sharing some of my favorite Christmassy (let’s all just act like it’s a word) things with you today!  And because It’s Friday Favorites, there will be a little bit of random thrown in too, because that’s how I roll.

 LET’S GET GOING WITH SOME OF MY FAVORITE CHRISTMASSY THINGS!

 I don’t know how it happened girls, but all of a sudden it’s GAME TIME.
But listen, no stressing out this year,I’m here to help!
And you need to start getting excited about something, because the first week of December, Shay and I are going to BLOW YOUR MIND with our giveaways.  It’s called  Five Days of Fabulous….and let me tell you…the title is not over-selling it.

The best way I know how to describe it is this:
 If you buy this book, you will create wonderful memories and extend the magic of Christmas.

YOU WILL EXTEND THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS.
The Elf on The Shelf people really should put me in charge of their marketing campaign.
I mean, just look at my graphic.
(And let’s just go ahead and ignore the fact that I’m missing the “n” in extend.)

You and your little ones will have so much fun with this and you will be creating memories that will last a lifetime.  They are only little once, and this is a great way to take advantage of these precious years.  We started when Carter was 3, and he still talks about things that our elf “Tootie” did 3 years ago!  He can’t wait till he comes back to visit this year, and at our house, Tootie always shows up the day after Thanksgiving (which is why you need to order the book now!)!
And let’s be honest, if you have a 2,3,4,5,6,7,8, or 9 year old,
 you HAVE to be doing Elf On The Shelf.
ALL of the kids have an elf, and if your kid doesn’t, well then that’s just sad.

I’ve been getting some questions about festive holiday wear.
Not necessarily party wear, just cute clothes for the holiday season.
I’m going to start working on a post with a couple of different outfit options, but until then, I have some plaid shirt options for you!

At the bottom of a post a couple of weeks ago, I did a Get The Look For Yourself collage with a red plaid shirt with my navy puffer (click HERE to see the post).
Well, I started making this collage for that post (to give you red plaid shirt options), but I never finished it…so you are getting it today!

A red plaid shirt would be so fun to add to your closet for the holiday season, and there are some great choices below!  All would look great on their own with skinny jeans and tall boots or under a puffer!

I think “c” is my favorite!  Love the colors and the henley collar.

One thing I like to do for Christmas is get my boys (the hubby and the kid) a couple of things they actually NEED.  For Chris, that often times means underwear and socks.  ðŸ™‚
This year I totally splurged and I ordered Carter a pair of Hunter Rain Boots to wrap up for under the tree.
But then this happened.

Yep.
The day they got delivered it was raining outside, and mama couldn’t wait.
#oops


So when Nordstrom contacted me to talk about kid’s cold weather shoes,  I thought if some of you mamas out there like to get a “need” gift too, this post could be helpful!  Most kids need a pair of good winter shoes, and Nordstrom has an extensive collection to choose from that are both warm and super cute!  Anyway, I hope this post might give you some ideas! 

Maybe y’all can be better and actually wait until Christmas morning for
 your little one to open the gift.

Her feet are tiny and grow slowly so hopefully she can wear for two years. 
Josh saw them and said, I want to ask how much they were but I kind of don’t even care because they are so cute! Ha!

In case you’re wondering, I’m still obsessed with my Ugg Lattice Cardis.
Full disclosure, I’ve now worn them 4 straight days in a row.  We had a serious cold snap in our area, and not only have I been wearing them constantly, I’ve been constantly wondering WHAT THE HECK I would have been wearing on my feet if I hadn’t purchased these a couple of weeks ago.

Last week I went and spoke to a group of sweet AND DARLING mamas in Rockwall at one of their MOPS groups, and I had an absolute blast!  We got a great group picture, but the picture keeps crashing when I try to load it, so instead you get a picture of me with Lyndsey, the sweet girl who reached out and asked me to come!

    Sheaffer, I was in Dollar General yesterday picking up some vanilla ice cream and they had the peppermint ice cream! I thought about buying it for a split second and then decided I better not bring it into the house. Go get you some!!

    Great post. Love the blog. I suggested to my 10 year old maybe Jingles isn't coming this year, well I don't think I'll be forgiven if he doesn't come! He loves his Elf and so do I. I don't always do messy things, just hangs out fun places (and truthfully sometimes for 2 days).
    Off to look at winter boots for the little guy too!

    I just love your Santa alerts! Those hunters on carter are precious. I think Eric would have a heart attack if I bought some for Liv…but she could totally wear them for two years and hello. We live in Oregon where she could wear them for 8 months straight. 🙂

After seeing your cute grey ones at MOPS, I "had" to have some…but I found some fun red hunter look alikes at Target that I decided to try before taking the Hunter plunge…so I can't wait for it to rain again!

    So I definitely need a faux fur vest. I've been wanting one and now I just need to buy one. I also need a plaid shirt. And my son needs some winter shoes. It's been in the 30's in Nashville yesterday and today and I think I am dying its so cold! (Says the Alabama native and rarely got temps that low growing up)

I have been stalling about jumping on the camo pants bandwagon but took the plunge today. Bought a pair of the new camo at Loft. Please help me style my camo.
