Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
😉
If you buy this book, you will create wonderful memories and extend the magic of Christmas.
Did you hear that people?
YOU WILL EXTEND THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS.
The Elf on The Shelf people really should put me in charge of their marketing campaign.
I mean, just look at my graphic.
(And let’s just go ahead and ignore the fact that I’m missing the “n” in extend.)
You and your little ones will have so much fun with this and you will be creating memories that will last a lifetime. They are only little once, and this is a great way to take advantage of these precious years. We started when Carter was 3, and he still talks about things that our elf “Tootie” did 3 years ago! He can’t wait till he comes back to visit this year, and at our house, Tootie always shows up the day after Thanksgiving (which is why you need to order the book now!)!
And let’s be honest, if you have a 2,3,4,5,6,7,8, or 9 year old,
you HAVE to be doing Elf On The Shelf.
ALL of the kids have an elf, and if your kid doesn’t, well then that’s just sad.

Per my request, My friend Andrea created…..
wait for it...
Pinterest Told Me To Christmas gift tags!
If you and your best friends, you and your mom, you and your sister, all the girls in your family, all the girls in your book club, all the girls in your Zumba classs…..you get the idea…..
If you and some of your loved ones read the blog together,
I would get SO TICKLED to think about you printing these off, slapping them on a Christmas present, and you ladies unwrapping Pinterest Told Me To highlighted presents on Christmas morning!
Andrea did 2 versions for us.
Version #1
Version #2:
Just right click on either one of the images above ( 3 tags per document), save it to your computer, and print them out! All I did was just tape it to a wrapped package!
Look how DARLING they are!
I certainly hope you are “oohing” and “aahhing” appropriately over these.
Because they deserve some serious ooohs and ahhhhhhs.
And maybe a little bitty squeal of happiness.
And feel free to clap your hands out of sheer delight.
🙂
I’ve been getting some questions about festive holiday wear.
Not necessarily party wear, just cute clothes for the holiday season.
I’m going to start working on a post with a couple of different outfit options, but until then, I have some plaid shirt options for you!
A red plaid shirt would be so fun to add to your closet for the holiday season, and there are some great choices below! All would look great on their own with skinny jeans and tall boots or under a puffer!
Or if you don’t want to wear a puffer (click HERE for my navy one with toggles!), maybe you’re a fur vest type of girl?
I keep seeing them on everybody and love them, I just haven’t been brave enough yet.
Check out THIS one.
And THIS one is from Jessica Simpson and is 40% OFF (only medium and large left).

This year I totally splurged and I ordered Carter a pair of Hunter Rain Boots to wrap up for under the tree.
But then this happened.
Yep.
The day they got delivered it was raining outside, and mama couldn’t wait.
#oops
So when Nordstrom contacted me to talk about kid’s cold weather shoes, I thought if some of you mamas out there like to get a “need” gift too, this post could be helpful! Most kids need a pair of good winter shoes, and Nordstrom has an extensive collection to choose from that are both warm and super cute! Anyway, I hope this post might give you some ideas!
Maybe y’all can be better and actually wait until Christmas morning for
your little one to open the gift.
Here are both of us in our Hunters.
Makes me smile. 🙂
Click HERE for Carter’s / click HERE for mine in Pillar Box Red
Here are some close-ups of his new kicks!
I mean.
I know they are Carter’s, but I couldn’t love them more if they were my own.
Click HERE for his exact pair in toddler, little kid, and big kid sizes.
They come in 3 different color combos and that’s a reflective detail on the back.
Love.
If you want them to be appropriate for really cold weather, you’ll need to get the Hunter Boot socks too. Click HERE for all Kids’ Hunter boot options, including the socks!
WORK IT SON.
WORK. IT.
She got her a pair of Hunters also, she sent me this picture and this is what her e-mail said:
I got mine last year and splurged on some for Elin this year.
Her feet are tiny and grow slowly so hopefully she can wear for two years.
Josh saw them and said, I want to ask how much they were but I kind of don’t even care because they are so cute! Ha!
You’re a good man Josh, a good man. 🙂
And look at Elin’s cute little boot socks!
I love the colors and the stripe. It’s a big scarf, and it’s very warm!

If you follow me on instagram (you can do so HERE), then you saw that I updated my chalkboard for the season. It might have taken me close to an hour (wish I was kidding), but I am having so much fun changing it up!

In case you’re wondering, I’m still obsessed with my Ugg Lattice Cardis.
Full disclosure, I’ve now worn them 4 straight days in a row. We had a serious cold snap in our area, and not only have I been wearing them constantly, I’ve been constantly wondering WHAT THE HECK I would have been wearing on my feet if I hadn’t purchased these a couple of weeks ago.
**********************************************************
I posted these items on Wednesday’s blog post at around 10:30 a.m (and I put them on facbook Wednesday night), but I wanted to post it again just in case you are an early morning blog reader or a facebook fan and didn’t see it!

Oh my gosh! If you were here right now, I would be talking really loud and fast about my Christmas enthusiasm to you! (I would also need to put on a bra if you were here…but that's just to be polite.) Carter looks so cute in his Hunters!! And I need like 20 things from today's post…like maybe more Kate Spade studs and another Bath and Body Works candle???
Erika Slaughter says
What a great post!!! There's was so much goodness I don't know where to start!! I absolutely love your Santa Alerts and am so looking forward to those! I think you can totally pull off her a fur vest. What is I dared you to? Would you try then?? 😉

Sheaffer, I was in Dollar General yesterday picking up some vanilla ice cream and they had the peppermint ice cream! I thought about buying it for a split second and then decided I better not bring it into the house. Go get you some!!

Great post. Love the blog. I suggested to my 10 year old maybe Jingles isn't coming this year, well I don't think I'll be forgiven if he doesn't come! He loves his Elf and so do I. I don't always do messy things, just hangs out fun places (and truthfully sometimes for 2 days).
Off to look at winter boots for the little guy too!
Kim Kauffman says
I just love your Santa alerts! Those hunters on carter are precious. I think Eric would have a heart attack if I bought some for Liv…but she could totally wear them for two years and hello. We live in Oregon where she could wear them for 8 months straight. 🙂

LOVED LOVED LOVED having you at our MOPS meeting! Ahhh-so many things I'd love in today's post 🙂 Carter's hunters are awesome! After seeing your cute grey ones at MOPS, I "had" to have some…but I found some fun red hunter look alikes at Target that I decided to try before taking the Hunter plunge…so I can't wait for it to rain again!
Em Scherer says
Costco online has hunter boots in olive green and navy for $79.99. Will Nordstrom price match on all colors? Right in time for Christmas!
Sheaffer says
Hi Em! Nordstrom only price matches with certain retailers (ex. Macy's), but I don't think Costco is one of them. Sorry! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Jenny says
My problem is that I love all of your ideas, but for ME!!! I am going to end up buying myself stuff instead of gifts for others!

Another wonderful post! Way to get me excited for Christmas 🙂 I feel this overwhelming urge to go shopping for all my Christmas presents NOW. Was wondering if you've seen this at your local Nordstrom? http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/blu-pepper-geo-knit-back-jacket-juniors/3865640?origin=category&BaseUrl=Cold+Weather Sorta reminds me of last year's sweater back military jacket…except it's not as cute as last years!
Sheaffer says
I've seen it online, but not in person yet! I love mine from last year, and it looks like it's just coral accents instead of mustard?!? I like it!
Leigh says
So I definitely need a faux fur vest. I've been wanting one and now I just need to buy one. I also need a plaid shirt. And my son needs some winter shoes. It's been in the 30's in Nashville yesterday and today and I think I am dying its so cold! (Says the Alabama native and rarely got temps that low growing up)

Always get so tickled reading your great blog posts. I am a brand new blogger and you, Cyndi Spivey and Alison Lumbatis are my blogging idols!! I have been stalling about jumping on the camo pants bandwagon but took the plunge today. Bought a pair of the new camo at Loft. Please help me style my camo. I am a 56 year old mother of two and grandmother to one. I often feel conflicted about what is age appropriate. Can you suggest ways I can wear my new camo comfortably? Thank you, Sheaffer.
Sheaffer says
I'll try to work up some camo posts soon Leslie! Thanks for the sweet words and welcome to blogging!!!!! 🙂
xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
