Holiday Denim Part II

Today is Part II of my Holiday Denim series with Nordstrom, and it’s time for Pin-spired!
That’s what I like to call a TWO-FER.
 I’m partnering up with Shay at Mix and Match Family and Mel at The Larson Lingo (just like we do every month!) and we’re hoping that all of you will join in the fun!  


So, on Friday I talked about Holiday PARTY looks with designer denim.
Today I’m talking about CASUAL looks with denim.
So basically, what I wear 361 out of 365 days a year.  
Today’s looks you could wear around your Thanksgiving table, to the mall with family, going to look at Christmas lights…you know, all that great holiday stuff!
So, here was my inspiration.

I know that we’ve all seen the above image floating around Pinterest and loved it!
Here’s how I did it!
(For size reference, I’m wearing a MEDIUM in the vest.)
Did you pay attention to my new puffer above?
Because it’s NAVY….AND IT HAS TOGGLES.
TOGGLES PEOPLE!
This girl LOVES a toggle.
If you have a super long torso, then this vest probably isn’t for you (unless you want a more cropped look like on the model), but it was fine on my 5’4″ frame.

And please, let’s give some special attention to my first pair of boot socks and my favorite circle hoop earrings that you see me wearing in 80% of my posts.

The earrings are a little pricey ($60), but I love them so.  They are so light (lots of earrings give me a headache by the end of the day, but not these!) and they really show up in my dark hair.  And they go with everything. You can find the earrings HERE.

I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I bought my first pair of designer denim jeans just earlier this year.  It took me a looooonnnnng time to spend over $150 on a pair of jeans (you guys know I love my Vigoss), but now I understand why more expensive jeans are worth it.
Now don’t get me wrong, I still ADORE my Vigoss and wear them constantly, but it’s nice to have this pair of AG in the rotation now too.
I wish I could put into words exactly why I love them so much, but it’s hard to explain.
I can tell you that they make me feel like a million bucks!
They definitely fit me better in the bootie than my Vigoss.
My exact pair is sold out, but lots of you have been singing AG’s praises to me.
It seems that from your comments, that you girls are the biggest fans of AG and Paige.

The hood is furry and fun (and I love it!), but detaching it is an option and it still has a cute collar that sticks up a bit and looks darling!

      Thanks so much! I adore your picks, and look forward to reading your blog every week and own many of your MUST HAVES or buy them for gifts for my daughter. Now I'm in a real pickle regarding the blardigan. I bought one for myself and one for my 21 year old, but really want one to gift my son's girl friend . Ugh, I should have bought 3 at the sale price! Since I live in Houston, the weather isnt really cold enough for me to bitemthe bullet and oay full price yet, but I have a sneaking suspicion they will sell out between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thank heavens you, my personal shopper, will keep me informed if the price drops.

    Sheaffer – I am nervous to buy some of the boots you list…because….I have large calves. Nothing crazy….just happens that I can't fit in Hunter boots. Was wondering if you could post some great tall boots for the a larger CALFed woman 🙂

      Hi Kari! Do you want rain boots specifically, or are you talking about any tall boots? Several boot makers (like Frye and Sam Edelman, off the top of my head), make a wide-calfed version of some of their most popular boots!

    Ok, so I think its time for me to break down and buy a pair of AG jeans!! All of my friends are on the AG jean train except me!!! I also can't wait to add the puffer vest to my collection! I have always worn vests even before they were popular! I am excited they are in this year!

      I'm not sure what link is wrong, but I checked the first three links for the earrings, and they were all working! So, go to the first side by side picture of me and use that earring link! Hope that helps!

    I love your blog! I wish that you would highlight more plus size options. A lot of the items you post are in the junior section which isn't going to work for an average sized lady let alone plus sized. Maybe you could do a post highlighting great items you've found that are plus size? Just a thought!
