I’m talking with Nordstrom today about fall outfit ideas, and I’m going to highlight 1 great striped sweater….but I’m going to style it 4 different ways! After my sister’s 2nd WORK WEAR GUIDE, I got a couple of comments about how readers liked how we showed a blouse in different outfits. I am to please, so today you are going to get 1 sweater with 4 different outfits. #ihavealwaysbeenapeoplepleaser #itsablessingandacurse
So before we get to the outfits, let’s talk for a second about the sweater. I’d seen it online and wasn’t interested in it. But when at the mall one day last week, I decided to try it on. And y’all! I loved it! It’s very soft, I love how it’s cut (with the v-neck and the rounded bottom hem), and the off set stripes make it interesting! I’m thinking the solid grey would be a great basic as well (although I’ve heard the solid colors aren’t as soft as the stripes), and you know I love the navy stripe. I have a small in the sweater, so I think it’s true to size.
LOOK #1: With Skinny Ankle Jeans and Converse
So for my first outfit, I went with my ol’ trusty AGs and my converse. Simple and cute! Loved it! I’m wearing a 27 in the AG jeans, so I think they are true to size.

Look #2: With Skinny Ankle Jeans, Over the Knee Suede Boots, and a Pop of Color
I thought I’d dress the sweater up a bit here with some over the knee suede boots, because they kick up the sassy factor in every outfit. And then I took a cue from one of my sister’s outfits last week and added a pop of pink! #connertoldmeto 😉
striped v-neck sweater / favorite jeans ever! / over the knee suede boots / earrings / tassel pendant necklace/ grommet bag (only available in black now) / similar cognac cross body bag
Look how cute the bottom of this sweater is. It has a rounded edge, this cute little cut up detailing, and it hangs so nicely. And like I mentioned previously, the sweater is incredibly soft! It comes in a navy stripe, grey, mustard, and teal. (There have been 2 reports from readers that the solid colors aren’t as soft as the stripes. They still said they liked them, but they liked the stripes better.)

Look #3: With Black Jeans and Leopard Flats
Because of the black stripe, pairing this sweater with black jeans for one of the looks was a no-brainer. I thought it would be great to kick up the fun of the outfit with my leopard flats! #BAM I’m wearing a 4 in the black jeans, so I think they are true to size. (These black Wit and Wisdom jeans are much more fitted than the same size in the boot cut jeans you are going to see in Look #4.)

Look #4: With Dark Rinse Boot Cut Jeans and Gold Accessories
And you know I had to pull out my bootcut jeans, because sometimes you want to be tall and skinny. 😉 Paired with my new sparkly fringe necklace and booties, I was ready to go! I’m wearing a 4R in the jeans (with tall wedges), so I think they are true to size. Some readers reported sizing down in these.

Here’s a close up of the jeans. If you are new around these parts, click HERE to read a full review of these jeans (there’s also a men’s jeans guide in the same post!). The online reviews are great, and I don’t remember this being the case before….BUT NOW THEY COME IN PETITES! I’m wearing a regular 4 and at least a 3 inch heel for them not to be too long. But..I like to wear tall heeled boots and wedges with my boot cut jeans (to elongate my legs), so a petite would have been to short on me to do that. I’m almost 5’4″.

Meow!! My favorite look has to be with the over the knee boots! Great idea showing it styled different ways!
Shay Shull says
Um, I need that sweater. Like yesterday.
Stephanie says
My favorite outfit is #2 (with the tall boots), but I’ll probably wear outfit #1 most often. Thanks for the multiple looks, that was very helpful! I ordered the sweater before even leaving this comment. #youtoldmeto
Britt says
My favorite outfit is with the boot cut jeans. Probably because I own those jeans and want to wear them every single day. 🙂
Narci says
The sweater is darling! Love all of the different styling options! Cute!
Megan says
Bootcut jeans that come in petite!!! Love Wit and Wisdom. Fingers crossed they work for the under five foot crowd. Hemming jeans just never looks right. Putting them in my cart now.
Suzanne @ My Life is a Mix says
That is a super cute sweater but the off set stripes are driving my OCD crazy, lol! Wondering if I could get used to it after a while…..Come on, am I the only one?! Ha!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Suzanne! I think it just makes it interesting! Ha! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Jill says
I agree with you. I couldn’t focus on the other darling aspects of her outfit. Those stripes were so distracting.
Lisa Gonzalez says
That is exactly what is stopping me from ordering it! You are not alone!

Mary Deckert says
Yep, me too. The mis-matched stripes were the only thing I could see. I’m sure it was intentional, because they didn’t even need a seam there, but still, it bugs me.
Lindsay says
So funny! I came on here to say the same thing! The mismatched stripes drive me NUTS! I think the sweater is so cute and would buy it if the stripes matched up, but it makes it look like they messed up. Loved the ways you styled the shirt though and the vneck and hemline.
Seema says
I love the sweater but I am too OCD and need the lines to match up….
Michele says
My vote is for the black jeans and leopard flats look. So cute!
J-Lo says
Am I seeing things or are the stripes matched on the sides but not in the middle?! I love the sweater, the unmatched stripes are just stressing me out! ????
Sheaffer says
They don’t match up! I think it makes it interesting!!! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
cassie {hi sugarplum} says
Darling sweater on you! You know I’m a sucker for stripes…esp black and white ones. I think my fave is the over-the-knee boots! Looks amazing on you!
Lisa Richardson says
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE that sweater!!! I actually tried it on and had it on my blog last week. It’s crazy comfy!!! Looks cute on you 🙂
Jenny says
So cute….the first look is my favorite! Is this long enough to wear with leggings also and cover all the necessary parts?!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Jenny! I don’t think it’s long enough for leggings. You would definitely have to size up, but it might not be too baggy everywhere else! Sorry. 🙁 xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Angie says
I think the flare jeans are my favorite!!
