I would say that in 80% of the posts on this blog that I’m wearing jeans from Nordstrom. And let’s be honest, that’s a conservative estimate. So, when Nordstrom asked if I wanted to team up to talk about their jeans, I was like “Sure! I basically do every day anyway!”. Part 1 today is a round up of my favorite regular ol’ blue jeans. This round up includes MY FAVORITE JEANS EVER, my BELOVED VIGOSS JEANS, and my new ITTY BITTY BOOT CUT JEANS. Part II on Friday will focus on my black and grey jeans.
**********AG**********
Let’s start with MY FAVORITE JEANS EVER, which are 33% OFF RIGHT NOW!!!!! I’ve probably already talked about them extensively and in great detail around 10x on this blog…but here’s a quick review: They are definitely pricey, and believe you me, I might have had a heart palpitation or two when I bought them…..but now I believe in the power of a designer jean. (A more specific review is a bit further down, but I do think they run true to size.) I’m not a jeans snob at all….but THESE AG’s are the bomb. You can find my pair HERE, but all of the AG skinny jeans are HERE (with lots of different washes and varying levels of distressing).
And I know this post is all about the jeans….but this top deserves some recognition as well. I got it in grey and white last year, and I wore the heck out of it. The gauzy layer is so pretty, and the pleated back is gorgeous (make sure to check it out since I forgot to get a picture of it.). It definitely needs a cami (because of the sheer back), but this top is definitely a favorite in my closet. And think how cute it will be with my black jeans! For size reference, I’m wearing a small in this picture, but I sent it back and exchanged for an x-small. The small was a little too boxy, and when I looked at my grey one, I realized it is an x-small as well. So, I suggest sizing down in this top. I thought it was perfect paired with my favorite jeans and a pair of booties!

And again, I know this post is about jeans (and here they are again this next picture)….but let’s talk again about another amazing top. Clearly, I’m a fan of layered tops. This top comes in several color combos, but I went with this one because I absolutely love pink and grey together! In the close up on the right you can see just a little bit of the pink and cream layer peaking out from the collar, and then much more peeking out on the bottom and sides! Now, when picking your favorite combo, notice that some are v-neck…and the v-necks only have the fabric peeking out of the back! Still super cute, just different! I’m wearing a small in the top, which is true to size for me, but if you want it a bit more fitted, I would suggest sizing down.

And another outfit, again with my favorite jeans ever (that you saw me in just last week). This blouse has quite the following! It appears that many readers knew about it (and loved it, and had multiple colors!) before I ever even highlighted it. Again, I’m wearing a small, so I think it’s true to size. I wore this top to my girlfriend’s annual scarf exchange last night, and everybody was like “So this is the high low top!” They all loved it and it even got some “it’s so flattering!” comments. FLATTERING is one of my favorite words. 🙂

And yes, the top is just made like this. Twisted, drapey, and short in the front…..and long in the back. It’s perfect, really.
Here’s a close up of the jeans I did for another post. They have stretch in them and are soft, but the stretch isn’t so much that they don’t hold their shape all day long. Because they totally do. And please notice how they are the perfect length on me to wear with converse, flats, and ankle booties. They’re great to wear with tall boots too, because they are so fitted that you won’t get that annoying bagging at the knees. I’m almost 5’4″, but I have a friend that bought them who is a little over 5’7″, and she loves them as well!
And here’s one of the best things about them: I’ve seriously worn them as many as 5 times between washings, and they still look great on that 5th wear! But when I do finally wash them, they wash beautifully! I typically dry them for like 20 minutes, and then I hang them to dry the rest of the way. Lots of reviewer say they dry them the entire way with great luck….I’m just not that brave. Also, I feel like the distressing has held up really well and hasn’t grown or ripped further.
Other AG choices here:
**********VIGOSS**********
As much as I adore my AGs, I still love and constantly wear my Vigoss all the time. I have SEVERAL pair. I don’t know how many, because I’m not willing to count them. 😉 Here I am in a pair last week, with a top that is sadly sold out. It’s a Wayf top, and you can check their other items out HERE.
I was wearing my nude flats (stupid comfy and the most worn flats in my closet), my square face watch, my wear with everything gold bracelet, and a beaded multi-strand bracelet (that also comes in black, navy, and cognac).
And because I think everybody should own a pair, a picture of my abalone earrings.
Okay, back to Vigoss jeans. Let’s take a walk down memory lane with just a couple pairs of my Vigoss jeans and looks you’ve seen me in before.
These are their relatively new crop skinny jeans. And to show you how short the crop skinny jeans are, I wanted you to see them with my ankle booties (40% OFF NOW)! I’m almost 5’4″, and they are the perfect length for booties. These jeans are also great for stuffing in to tall boots, because they are fitted and because the short length doesn’t give you extra material to deal with! Now, they are definitely too short for me (at almost 5’4″) to wear with flats, but they really are just perfect for ankle booties. I thought you other shorties would for sure want to know about these…..now, if you are blessed with height, then these aren’t for you. In the shot below I have them rolled up the length of the tiny hem, but they also look great not turned up.
Size References: I’m wearing a medium in the top (I sized up, because it said a small was a 2-4, and I am NEVER a size 2 top.) I suggest sizing down 1 size in the jeans because they have quite a bit of stretch in them.

And one more oldie but goodie outfit with another pair of Vigoss jeans.

**********WIT AND WISDOM ITTY BITTY BOOT CUT JEANS***********
I know I just recently introduced you to these jeans, but they of course had to be in my favorite blue jeans round up! These jeans slenderize you like crazy, but still allow you to breathe. They suck in all the right parts, but still allow you to breathe. They also allow you to sit comfortably…and I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this already, but they STILL ALLOW YOU TO BREATHE. And OH MY WORD are they comfy. They are a mid rise (but I promise, they aren’t high rise), they don’t slip down at the waist, and they hold their shape. At 5’4″, with tall wedges (like 3 1/2 inches) on, I don’t kneed them hemmed. And here’s the deal, from the comments on the site and the ones I’ve received (some comments are shared below), these jeans appear to be flattering on all different body types. BAM.
I am wearing my normal size (27), but some people reported that they sized down in these.

Hope y’all enjoyed seeing my favorite blue jeans all in one place! Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this series, and I’ll see y’all back here on Friday for Part II of Nordstrom Jeans where I’ll be highlighting my black and grey jeans!

Oh my goodness, the last thing I need to do is buy more jeans…but this post makes me want to. So many cute ones! I’ve never worn the AG jeans but you always look so cute in them!
Denise Long says
I’m a long time reader, and I have all 3 pairs of these jeans (2 of the Vigoss). I’m not sure if I should be proud or shy of this fact, but I’m going to choose to be proud! Haha! I love them all!
Michelle says
I’m off hooked on AG jeans. I found a pair for $45 at Nordstrom rack and need more now!
Sarah says
Baby arrives end of this month, give me some time and then I’ll be back here looking for jean options! This should also coincide with Nordstroms arrival in Canada!
Holli Burnett says
I ordered the AG jeans during the sale and just got them yesterday! Oh. My. Word. I secretly wanted to hate them because of the price, but those babies hopped right in my closet without a second thought. I have a very similar 7fam pair that I thought could not be topped. Wrong. These are MUCH more comfortable, softer, and probably more flattering. Love!

Do any taller readers have any recommendations for jeans? I’m 5’10 and would love to know what other leggy ladies are wearing. Thanks!
Alicia from AZ says
I’m just over 5’9″ and I love the Wit and Wisdom, although I do size down one size. I haven’t tried the bootcut, but I think they will be too short. I also am a huge fan of Joes Jeans and I finally tried the AG and love them. Went in my rotation for sure. I used to think that finding jeans was hard, but I find that tops sometimes prove more of a difficulty between the general length and the sleeve length.
AB says
Thank you Alicia! I’ll check those out. And yes, you’re right, tops really are more of an issue. I’ve become an expert sleeve pusher-upper 😉
Jennifer says
I just received a pair of Wit and Wisdom boot cut jeans in the mail. I am 5’10” with a 34 in inseam. They are way too short. I loved the way they feel. I am bummed to send them back. Would love anyone’s comments on a similar jean in talls.
Abby Fitzgerald says
I purchased the AG jeans last week and fully expected to return them because they are so expensive, and I didn’t think I would like them enough. Well, I was wrong. I cannot believe how much I love these jeans. My husband loves them too, which is a bonus! Thanks for the great recommendation! – Abby

I desperately need jeans help!! I’m a shortie- 4″11 to be exact and can’t find any jeans that fit!! I haven’t tried Nordstrom jeans yet! I’m actually new to the whole Nordstrom shopping. I know crazy right?!? Where have I’ve been all these years!! Do you have any advice for me on where to start? I want to wear flats, boots, booties, etc…. Please help!!! I used to buy Gap Always Skinny- but they stopped making those!
Desperate shopper
Sheaffer says
Hi, Lindsay! The best thing about Nordstrom is free shipping AND returns. At 4’11”, I’m thinking that you’ll still need to get most jeans hemmed, but if you are wanting a really fabulous pair of jeans, I’d start with the AG skinny ankle. If you scroll up to the picture I’m wearing with the dark wash jeans and rust colored shirt, those jeans might actually work for you with flats! I suggest sizing down in those. Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Lindsay says
Thanks Sheaffer! I’ve heard fabulous things about the AG jeans!! I’m going to try them out! 🙂
Lindsay says
Hey Sheaffer! Do you mind posting the link to the AG jeans! I must be blind because I’m not seeing the picture with the jeans and the rust color shirt! Thanks!!! 🙂
Sheaffer says
Hi, Lindsay! The jeans with the rust colored and floral shirt are actually Vigoss jeans. You can find them here: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/vigoss-crop-skinny-jeans/4351898?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&fashioncolor=DARK%20WASH

Very helpful post!!! I’ve got to try the AG jeans!
Paula says
Are jeans really worth $200? Serious question. I can afford them. I can several pairs, but I question whether that is being a good steward with my money. I want to have fabulous jeans & look fabulous. …but…
Sheaffer says
Hi, Paula! It’s a fair question for sure. Some people choose to have 2 pairs of really great jeans instead of a closet full of $60 jeans. Others would never dream of spending $200 on jeans (even if they have the means too), and that’s obviously fine as well! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

Oh I Totally need to get me some jeans!

This post makes me want to buy more jeans!!! Love that KS Rae Necklace in Pyrite, I got one too during the NSale! 🙂
Stacy says
What size are you wearing in the Wayf short sleeve top? It is back in stock online in a small and medium.
Thank you.
Sheaffer says
Good to know, Stacy! I sized up to a medium! I’ll wait for a bit to post it on facebook so you have time to grab yours! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
