Friday Favorites: Camo Pants ON SALE, Jeans You NEED, a Great Tote, and Labor Day Sales

It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika and Andrea to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now.

CAMO JEANS SALE

Nordstrom just added a lot of items to SALE!  Click HERE to browse the entire sale for yourself, but I’m excited to share that my camo pants are part of the sale!  They are a muted camo that I love, and I’m picky about my camo patterns.  These pants are stretchy, comfy, and flattering as all get out.  I do think they fit differently on me than they look on the model, and other reviewers stated the same.  They are more of a skinny jean fit on me than they look on the model, but I truly love the fit.  I’m wearing my regular size 4, but I would suggest sizing down if you’re often between sizes.  They also come in petite!

You can see here that I styled the rest of the outfit with everything from Amazon including the earrings, necklace, sweater, and booties! I saw Shay wearing this sweater in a different color, and I immediately ordered it.  First of all, I think this rust color is absolutely beautiful and love it for fall.  It’s officially called “red”, but it’s definitely more of a pumpkin or rust.  It also comes in black, blue, grey, beige, khaki, and a light pink.  It has mixed reviews, but I really like it.  In fact, I like it so much I think I might grab it in black too.  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I know some of you love the idea of camo pants, but you get stuck with how you are going to style them, so I wanted to give you several options today.

This quilted sweatshirt is my most recent Target find.  I went in for Gatorade, I came out with this.  I grabbed a medium, but I’m going to exchange it for a small.   The fabric is very soft with a bit of stretch, so I can afford to get the smaller size in the chest, and I’m hoping the small will make the shoulder area fit me better.  It comes in several colors.

Another super easy way to style the camo is with a white tee and neutral cardi.  This white swing tee is a great relaxed fit tee that is super forgiving.  I’m wearing a small. The sherpa cardigan is voluminous with batwing sleeves, but you’ll notice that the forearms are extremely fitted.  I happen to like that because it keeps it from looking too big and too sloppy, but the tightness might bother some.  I’m wearing a small in the cardi.

And if you know me or have read this blog for any amount of time, I’m sure you knew I would style these babies with a denim jacket.  Because DUH.

I’m thinking these pants would be great for teachers.  They aren’t jeans, so I’m thinking most of you could wear them during the week!  They’d also be great styled with a basic black sweater, a basic blush sweater, a basic cream sweater, a chambray shirt, etc. The sky is truly the limit.

THE JEANS YOU NEED 

Okay.

Let’s talk about these raw hem crop jeans.

BECAUSE THEY’RE AWESOME.

They are a PERFECT jean for fall.

They’re a great medium wash with no distressing, and I love the subtle frayed hem with the small side slit.  They’ve got a great straight leg that’s not too big, and the jeans have just the right amount of stretch in them so they are super comfortable, but they don’t sag during the day.  Oh, and they are incredibly flattering with the Ab-solution technology that slims, shapes and lifts in all the right places.  They’re not a true skinny jean, but they’re not a boyfriend jean or mom jean either.

They look awesome with booties, with mules, with flats, and with sneakers.

For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4, but I would recommend sizing down if between sizes.

Let’s take a sec to talk about the sneakers.  Do you remember them from last year before they sold out?  I was THRILLED when I saw that they brought them back.  Do y’all remember where they are from?  They were my favorite purchase from the retailer all last year, and I still can’t believe they are only $25.  If you don’t like the camo with the pink star, there are other options on the same link.

The laces are silver (which I think is super fun), and I tie them like people tie their Golden Goose sneakers.  I loop them and knot them on each side.  They are very comfortable with a padded footbed, and they are true to size for me.

My friend Ashley launched a jogger set with Gibson this week, but I ordered the wrong size joggers.  Luckily, the adorable puff sleeve sweatshirt fits great.  It’s SUPER warm and cozy, so I know I’ll be cuddling up with this as the weather gets colder.  It has a feminine fit and feminine detailing, and I’m wearing a medium.

This floral tie neck puff sleeve top is one of the great WEAR NOW items!  I love the olive floral pattern, the gathered sleeves, and the split neck with ties.  It’s DARLING.  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This pintucked puff sleeve top is another wear now item!  It’s got a great square neck and ultra feminine sleeves with lace and a gathered ruffle at the hem of the sleeve.  The pintuck pleats are a really nice design element.  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.  If you have a long torso, this one might not work on you, but it’s fine on me and still plenty long for a 1/2 tuck.

Okay, this striped sweater is a very ME sweater.  The stripes, the colors, the buttons on the shoulders…I love it all.  It’s soft and not at all stiff. It also comes in navy, which gives total nautical vibes.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

Okay, let’s talk about these sneakers.

I ordered a pair of Madewell sneakers last month, and although they were cute, I ultimately decided they were too hard to get on and off. So, I ordered the DV sneakers below earlier this week.  I really like that these are neutral with some fun details and they are much easier to get on and off.  I’m still looking, but I’m considering keeping these.  True to size for me.

This henley tunic sweater is incredibly soft, and I love the tunic length with the henley styling.  The color I’m wearing has already sold out, but it’s still available in olive and sunset.  It’s totally cozy with a great relaxed fit. For size reference, I’m wearing the small.

This relaxed hoodie is a nice weight.  It’s more like a heavy t-shirt than a sweater, and it’s great for both running around town or just feeling cute while lounging at home.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.  I wish it came in other colors too because it’s a great basic.

OBSESSED.

I’m a huge fan of this pocket poncho sweater.  First of all, this “pressed petal” color is gorgeous.  It’s got a great cowl neck, dropped shoulders, fitted forearms, a swingy fit, and the cutest ribbed pockets.  This is one of those pieces that I know will be a piece I grab ALL THE TIME.  It’s casual, but still totally chic.  I just love it so much.

I’m wearing a medium here, and on my 5’4″ frame, I could wear it with leggings.  If I thought I would be wearing with just jeans, I would size down to a small.

It also comes in camel and a soft blue.

The colors in this sweater are so eye catching and it’s oh so chic.  The stripes are very organic and wavy, and I think the color combo is gorgeous with all of the muted fall colors.  The sleeves are a subtle blouson, and it looks great worn out and with a half tuck.  For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This argyle sweater is going fast, so you better scoop it up if you want it! It’s a soft knit with a classic argyle pattern in pretty colors.  It does run big, so I would suggest sizing down.  I’m wearing a medium here and definitely need a smaller size.  On the site, it’s styled with a denim shirt under it and white jeans and the outfit is DARLING.

STRIPE TOTE BAG

I showed y’all this tote bag last Friday even though I didn’t have it yet.  I was afraid it was going to sell out before I even received it, but GREAT NEWS…

They still have some left, and I can vouch for it now that I have it.  It’s awesome.

A HUGE THANK YOU to my friends at Social Threads for sending one to me!  It arrived Wednesday, and I got right to work showing y’all how even though the black and white graphic stripe is bold, it still goes with so many different outfits. I wanted to show you how versatile it is in case some of you are still on the fence!

Now, the Social Threads bag black and white strap hasn’t arrived yet, but this black and white graphic strap I already had (still available from Amazon) looks great with it.

And check this out…the bag is turned around and I’ve paired different straps with it.  That’s an embroidered strap on the left (sold out now, but will come back this fall) and a camo bag strap on the right.  It’s awesome that if you ever think the stripe isn’t great for your outfit, you can just flip the bag around for a simple cognac tote!  You can also see in the outfit on the left how I tucked the handles into the tote itself.

$25 SNEAKERS

These $25 sneakers were in a couple of outfits above, but I wanted to give y’all a closer look.  I pulled a pic from last year where I was comparing the $25 sneakers to a pair of Dolce Vita sneakers from Nordstrom.  Sadly, the Nordstrom pair is sold out in camo (although it is available in other patterns)….but as mentioned above, the Walmart pair is available again this year!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO

Carter is playing football this year (EEEEEEEK!) and he’s been rocking early morning practices.  He has to wake up at 5:30 every morning to get ready and be at school by 6:30, and he hasn’t complained once (which I find super impressive).  His first game is Tuesday, and I’m both excited and nauseous.  Haha!
