WHAT I WORE

After a reader suggestion, I hope to make WHAT I WORE a weekly segment on my Friday Favorites posts! I have several outfits from this week to show you.

I wore this last weekend for a great little Friday night.  I grabbed burgers with the family and then headed to Costco.  Cause we’re crazy like that.  (I’m actually pretty excited about a couple of things we grabbed at Costco, but more on that in a minute.)

Here’s what I wore, and I’ve got great news, this camo tunic is BACK IN STOCK!

On Sunday, Carter’s soccer team went to the FC Dallas game.  IT WAS STUPID HOT.  Like my legs were sweating so bad my plastic seat was like a slip n’ slide HOT.  Good times.

So I don’t actually recommend these next two pieces together because the shades of grey don’t match up, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the pieces individually.

I wore this to volunteer at Carter’s school on Monday, and then I headed to my sister’s house to snuggle baby Bennett!  We had a bit of cooler temps on Monday, and I knew I had to be SUPER comfy and cozy to snuggle that baby.  This outfit fit the bill.  The pullover is VERY comfy, it comes in several colors, and it’s just under $25!  I’m wearing a medium in the pullover and a small in the joggers.

This pullover isn’t long enough for me to wear with leggings, but I STILL LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Look at this little nugget.  As my Mammaw would have said, I could eat him with a spoon.

I wore this cute open poncho cardi thingy (that’s the official term! ha!) on Tuesday for a quick meeting.  And it’s NOW ON SALE!  I love the wide neutral stripes in varying tones, and it really is the perfect style and weight to wear right now when we are easing into Fall.

HOWEVER, I’m sad to report that mine has a chemical odor.  I didn’t notice it until I was already in the car, and I’m hoping it was the packaging it came in and it will wash out.  Since I already wore it, I’m keeping it, and I’m just hoping it will wash out with a couple of cycles in my favorite detergent.

This would be cute with lots of different types of shoes, but I finally broke out my camo wedge sneakers from last year.  Loved them then, love them now.  They are very comfy and I love that they give me some height and lengthen my legs.

On Wednesday, I didn’t leave the house for most of the day, and I had the perfect lounge wear pieces for just that.  To be clear, I would most definitely wear this out of the house as well, I just didn’t have anywhere to go that day!

This sweatshirt is straight up awesome.  It’s a super soft fleece and modal blend with ribbing at the hem and cuffs.  It’s sooooooooooooo soft and soooooooooooooo cozy.  And it’s completely leggings appropriate.  I’m wearing a small in both the sweatshirt and the leggings.  I highly recommend this sweatshirt.  Size down a 1/2 in the sneakers.

I wore this outfit just yesterday when I headed to the mall to make returns!

The grey is sold out, but it’s still available in navy, and it’s ON SALE for 40% OFF!  It’s got a center stripe down the back that matches the stripes on the cuffs.  SO CUTE!  I’m wearing a medium in the cardi and a 4 in the jeans.

BACK IN STOCK

My favorite full length joggers have been restocked!

Now, I know I’ve been talking about these cropped joggers from Amazon a lot AND I DO LOVE THEM, but I’ve had lots of requests for a full length option. Also, another difference is these are quite a bit softer than my beloved Amazon ones.  They are quite a bit more expensive as well, BUT THEY ARE WELL WORTH IT.

The top comes in 4 colors, but I went for the black.  I seriously cannot convey to you how soft this top is.  I love the split neck, the relaxed fit, and the longer sleeve length. I’m wearing a small and it’s a very relaxed fit.  If between sizes, definitely size down.

I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS TOP ENOUGH.

Pair the above top with these joggers, and you’ve got yourself a perfect travel outfit.  And/or perfect running around town outfit.  And/or a perfect napping outfit. #jk #notreally

These are the softest and most comfortable joggers I think I’ve ever owned.  And I’ve owned and loved a lot of joggers/sweat pants.  In fact, I should probably be considered an expert on jogger comfort.  And not only are they extremely comfortable, they are also insanely flattering.

Whether flying or driving, you will be so comfy, and you will still look totally put together.  I would also recommend throwing on a jean jacket (my favorite HERE) for an extra layer when traveling.

And do you y’all remember these sneakers? I still love and adore them.  The site recommends to size down a 1/2 in the sneakers, but I’m in my regular 6 1/2s.

But seriously, who wants to go on a road trip?  I’ll bring the Funyuns, you bring the Cheez-Its.

OUTFIT PLANNING

Now that cooler weather has arrived for many of you (and it’s arriving today for me!), I’ve been ordering lots of sweaters to try.

This plush yarn hoodie is VERY MUCH like a blardigan!  I’m wearing the blush, but it comes in black too.  It’s actually quite luxurious, and in addition to wearing it with jeans, I also plan on wearing it with the Lou and Grey joggers above.  I’m wearing a small.

I love some of the pieces I ordered (you’ll see those in just a sec), but some of them just didn’t work for me. NEW COSTCO FAVORITES

Above I talked about our wild Friday night last week where we grabbed burgers and headed to Costco.  Well, we grabbed two items we’d never purchased before, and they are definitely going to be repeat purchases now.

First up, the street taco combo pack.  It comes with yummy chicken (and I’m weird about chicken, y’all), crunchy cole slaw, lime wedges, grated cheese, salsa, avocado cream, and corn tortillas.  It would definitely feed a family of 4, and it was right at $15.

We also grabbed the 2 pack of Cilantro Lime Crema.  It’s DELISH.  We use it as a sauce on tacos, a dip with chips, and as a salad dressing.

MEMORY LANE

Timehop has been killing it lately, so I have some memories to share.  This is a 4 week old Carter and super young me.  Look how short my hair is!

I would pay 1,000 to rock that baby right now.  And I’d pay another thousand to kiss those sweet cheeks.

CARTER

Things about Carter are always a favorite.  We were of course so proud when he was commended by his teacher and we got an awesome call home from the principal!

He’s always so appreciative when we occasionally surprise him with lunch at school.  Usually Whataburger.  #thatsmyboy

He’s loving playing club soccer, and he’s loving his new buddies.

And last week he participated in his last Fun Run in elementary school!

And here’s a close up of the jeans. If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you’ve heard me sing the praises of these jeans at least 274 times.  Well get ready, because today is 275.

I truly feel like everybody needs to try these jeans. You might not think you are a boot cut jeans girl, but I’d like to throw it out there that you just might be wrong.  These jeans will lengthen your legs and the Ab-solution technology will suck you in and smooth you out (without being too restrictive).  They will make you look 5 pounds thinner.  NO JOKE.  AND 2 inches taller.  NO JOKE.  They are a narrow boot cut, so you won’t be overwhelmed by the flare, and I think you will welcome having a pair of jeans in your closet that isn’t the standard skinny jean!

I’m wearing my regular size 4s, but I would definitely suggest sizing down if between sizes.  They waistband is very stretchy and very forgiving.  But don’t let the words “stretchy” and “forgiving” scare you, because these babies keep their shape all day long!  Also, at 5’4″, the petites were too short on me.  I like wearing a 3 inch wedge or heel with these jeans, and the petites would have only allowed me to wear flats.
