SHOPPING WITH SHEAFFER

I wanted to kick Friday off with a little miniature Shopping with Sheaffer segment. I have several pieces to highlight from several different retailers…

Are you dying over this open front blazer? BECAUSE I’M DYING. I love the fit, I love the open casual vibe, and I love the scrunchie sleeves. It’s a wonderful piece, and I’m so happy to have added it to my closet! It’s a great little blazer that’s casual, but classic and polished as well. And listen, I love a blazer moment with jeans. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

These jeans are actually from last year, and I continue to love them. To me, they are like if a skinny jean and a straight jean had a baby. And they have the ‘Ab’solution technology that slims, shapes and lifts in all the right places!

They aren’t super fitted on the calf or around the ankle, and the ankle has a little split on the side. They are great with sneakers, sandals, booties, flats, wedges, whatever! These are great for spring and summer because I love to have just a tiny bit of ankle showing! I do suggest sizing down. I’m wearing a size 2. THESE ARE AWESOME JEANS. They have the perfect amount of stretch.

This puff sleeve sweater is a gorgeous and vibrant pink. It also comes in a pretty teal. I feel like it’s part sweater and part sweatshirt. It’s soft, kind of thick, and oh so cute! It’s fun dressed up here with white denim and wedges, but it will be really great with ankle jeans and sneakers too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

The white boot cut jeans are stretchy, comfy, and ohhhhhhhh sooooooo flattering. Size down, I’m wearing a size 2.

This pullover sweatshirt from Amazon is a Lululemon dupe. I don’t personally own any Lulu so I have nothing to compare it to, but I can tell you I’m obsessed with this pullover. It’s the collar for me, y’all!  I wear it with both jeans and joggers. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I’m totally swooning over these stripes. I saw this sweater on a friend and immediately added it to cart. It’s Joules, but I found it on Amazon! It took like a week and a half to get to me, but it was totally worth the wait. For size reference, I’m wearing a 6, and it’s quite roomy. I think the color combo and the stripes are both fabulous.

This ruffle collar sweater is adorable. It’s seriously precious. And you’re not going to believe this, but it’s ON SALE for $7. I’m for real. SEVEN DOLLARS. It’s very soft and has a sweet little collar that is kind of ruffled and kind of pleated. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

These Mother jeans are the most expensive jeans I’ve ever owned (or will ever own I’m guessing). I LOVE THEM. True to size for me.

So it’s more than $7, but this sweater is still a great deal for UNDER $20! It’s a pink cheetah pattern, which sounds like it would be too much, but I actually think it’s super cute. Notice the banded waistband and how the hem is split. Such nice details and so cute! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This layered sweater is almost soooooooo good. Yep, I said almost. I love the idea of it, I love the fabrics, I love the colors, but it’s just a bit too boxy for my liking. This next find is another Anthropologie score that I’m SUPER excited about. Right here I’m doing a denim on denim look, but imagine it instead with white denim and sandals…..or maybe even grey denim and sneakers.

And I know denim on denim isn’t for everybody, but I think it’s fun here!

These polka dot rain boots are a Walmart score, and they just went ON SALE FOR ONLY $17! If you are a half size, I would suggest sizing down.

And I beg your pardon, but how stinkin’ cute is this little flouncy sleeve tee! The green and the really soft blue is a fun color combo, and I love how the flutter sleeves totally elevate this little tee. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

Just yesterday I opened a PR package from Kendra Scott, and it was a couple of pieces from the just launched collaboration with Emily from Champagne and Chanel!

OUTFIT PLANNING

Did you see my outfit planning post on Monday? It was a big hit with y’all, and I got a lot of great feedback! I saw a couple of new things online that I thought looked super cute, so I thought it would be fun to create a couple more outfits…

No surprise here, the jeans are from Wit and Wisdom. The stretch and the comfort are unmatched. These particular jeans are straight leg and look to be a bit of a girlfriend style. The blouse is from Wit and Wisdom too. I like the longer sleeve, the soft colors, and the drapey fit. And check out these wedges, y’all! They are a perfect neutral, and they look like a great height as well (not too high, not too low).

If you’re looking for a pair of white jeans, look no further! These white jeans are actually the jeans I fell in love with last year, and I’m thrilled they recently brought them back. They are called “pants” on the Nordstrom site, but I definitely think of them and treat them like white denim. Sooooo stretchy, sooooooooo comfy, and soooooooooo flattering. These pants are going to shape and smooth you in all the right places. And I LOVE how fresh a great pair of white jeans looks in an outfit! I’m wearing my regular size 4, but I would suggest sizing down if between sizes.

I thought both the chambray top and the blue and white floral top would both look great with the white jeans, and I was right! 😉 I used all the same jewelry and the same bag from Monday’s post, so those pieces are super versatile.

Carter has such a special relationship with both Buddy and Charlie. They all love each other so much.

A couple of weekends ago our church hosted Disciple Now, a weekend retreat where they hosted youth from several churches in the area and did their best to fill them all up with Jesus! 🙂

Friday night several of them stayed over here, and they were a delight! I’m so proud of this crew.

They are so respectful and SO MUCH FUN. A really great group of young men!

OPALESCENCE

This picture is from last year, but I first showed it to you when I first told you about the new teeth whitening system I started using last year. Click HERE for the Opalescence Go Teeth Whitening System.

When I posted that picture, I’d only used 4 trays, and my teeth had already definitely gotten a glow up! I was very pleased with the results and was anxious to see additional progress as I used the rest of the trays. And then I misplaced the trays. SERIOUSLY.

I had totally forgotten about them until I was reorganizing my bathroom over the weekend and stumbled upon the box. I pulled them out and used a tray that night and saw immediate results.

Overall, the reviews on this whitening system are excellent. I will say though that I was nervous to use them the first time because I read a review or 2 that reported extreme sensitivity and/or gum-burning and pain. I never experienced anything unpleasant at all, and I’ve definitely had sensitivity with other teeth whiteners. Still, I would suggest you hopping over and reading some of the other reviews and seeing some of the fantastic before and after pics. I knew I could trust this system because it’s actually sold in both mine and Carter’s dentist’s offices.

A MUST HAVE BRA

I’ve had a couple of messages lately asking me for the Amazon bra recommendation I had talked about before, so I thought it would be a good idea to talk about it again.

And here’s the deal… I LOVE THIS BRA EVEN MORE NOW THAN I DID WHEN I FIRST TALKED ABOUT IT. And right now it’s ON SALE for ONLY $19.99!!!

It’s awesome.

I think a nicely rounded cup is important because I really dislike a pointy boob, and this bra really delivers. You can see by just looking at the below picture that this bra will give a nicely rounded shape.

It smooths underarms, has a no-dig bottom band, and will provide you with natural lifting without the wires! Not that any of us need our underarms smoothed or our boobs lifted. #coughcough #winkwink

Just look how comfortable this wide bottom band looks. It’s a wider brand than the other bras I’ve reviewed in the past, and I really appreciate it. I find that it’s so much more forgiving and comfortable than any of the other bands on my other bras.

And look how comfy it looks from the back as well.

You can see the lining/cups of the bra here. And here’s the best news: THESE CUPS AREN’T REMOVABLE, SO YOU WON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEM FALLING OUT IN THE WASH!!! Now listen, the cups do have some padding in them, but they don’t add bulk at all, and they definitely aren’t push up cups. In fact I think this bra flattens me out just a little bit which I actually LOVE. And there’s ZERO boob spillage out the top.

I have worn this bra for close to a year now, and I have absolutely no complaints.

You can see that it’s very smooth under this clingy white tee without any lumps or bumps, and it gives a soft and rounded look (as mentioned above). Seeing lace or seams under this tee would totally ruin the look, but you don’t have to worry about that with this bra.

And if you look at the picture above, you see how there is additional fabric over and above the lining in the cups. This is what prevents any spillage and makes sure the look is smooth. Spillage drives me crazy, because not only is it uncomfortable, but it also looks terrible. This bra keeps everything nice and contained. One more thing, the straps are adjustable, and it can be converted to criss-cross styling if needed.

We all know that a great bra can truly make or break an outfit, and I am thrilled to have found yet another Warners bra I love. And I’m telling you, this one is my favorite.

And I know I’ve mentioned this in previous posts, but I’m not one of those girls that rips off her bra the minute she steps foot in the house. I mean, I used to be, but I haven’t been since Warners entered the chat.

My girls are big enough that I like to have some support even when just lounging around the house, and this bra gives me that support while allowing me to still be super comfy in my lounge wear. Plus, now that I have a 14-year-old in the house, it just feels right to be supported at all times.

All of my Warners bras are actually comfy enough to wear when lounging around, but again, this new one is my favorite. It’s so comfy that I’ve actually slept in it a couple of times (after falling asleep on the couch and then heading to bed).

Now, let’s talk sizing.

I know some might shy away from this bra because it’s not sized like a typical bra with band and cup sizes, but don’t let that keep you from trying it! They’ve got a handy dandy little chart that I’ve found to be super accurate with its size recommendations.

It is available in a range of sizes from S to 3XL.

I love that this company is so size inclusive! Because of the stretch, the sizing is forgiving, so you can really trust the chart. I’m a 34D, this chart told me to order a medium, and the medium is PERFECT for me!

I’ve worn expensive bras most of my adult life, and I maintain that some of them are awesome (y’all know I love this one and this one).

But I’ll say, it sure is nice to have a much less expensive option. And it’s just so dang convenient that they are on Amazon because the free shipping and free returns can’t be beat!

WEEK IN REVIEW

Monday’s post was a fun one, y’all! I planned 10 outfits for spring, and the outfits were full of pieces that I want in my own closet. Some of the pieces I already own, and others are on their way to me! Click HERE for the post and all the links.

 

And my post on Wednesday highlighted a handful of spring essentials, including a perfect white tee, a great pair of skinny jeans (skinny jeans forever!), some white sneakers that everybody needs, and 3 adorable layers totally made for the change of the seasons.

And did you see my Zulily post yesterday? I highlighted lots of great home finds in a collage, but I also featured my new rug!

It arrived a couple of weeks ago! AND IT’S PERFECT! I had purchased several rugs from different soucrces before this one, and none of them were quite right. The colors in this one are just what I was looking for, and the 2’7″ x 7’10″is the perfect size for this space.

Blues, reds, creams, and greens all come together to make this beautiful rug.
