I went shopping and grabbed a handful of new things to highlight for y’all today!
This striped tee is adorable. Just yesterday, I saw L and XL sell out, so grab it now if you want it. I love the stripes and the vibrant color. I’m wearing a medium.
This crocheted beaded tote bag is fabulous, y’all. It’s large (but not overwhelmingly large), and the colorful wooden beads totally make this bag.
This floral peplum wrap blouse is so feminine and pretty. It’s got lovely pleats, a peplum hem, and a snap closure at the bust. I’m wearing a medium.
The necklace I’m wearing is special (I’m wearing it above as well).
It was designed by Kendra Scott, and 50% percent of proceeds from this Sun & Moon charm benefit Mental Health causes with their national partners, National Alliance on Mental Illness and Active Minds. You’ve gotta love jewelry for a cause.
Speaking of Kendra Scott, if you still need to grab a last minute Mother’s Day present for mom, you can buy online and pick un in store to get it in time. Click HERE and right under the “Mother’s Day” heading, you can “shop your nearest store” by entering in your zip code. By doing this, you can totally streamline the process by browsing and shopping online, and then just quickly swinging by the store to grab it and go!
THIS BLOUSE IS GORGEOUS and it’s on SUPER SALE right now! It also comes in white, turquoise, black, and marigold. It has excellent reviews, and I think it’s going to end up being a wardrobe favorite for lots of y’all. I mean, look at the sleeves! I’m wearing the small and it’s a little tight across my chest, so I’m going to try the medium to see if I like that better. If you’re worried about the open eyelet pattern, don’t! It comes with a cami of the same color!
I was at Northpark earlier this week, and when I popped in J Crew, these beaded earrings totally caught my eye. I think they are gorgeous. The J Crew jewelry department is actually KILLING IT right now. I didn’t see these beaded crochet statement earrings in store, but OMG I love them.
This embroidered peasant top is just my style. It’s light and gauzy, so even thought the sleeves are longer, it’s perfectly appropriate for spring and summer. The embroidery is neutral, minimal, and chic. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
I’ve talked about the straight legged jeans many times before, and I still think they’re awesome. They are a great alternative to a skinny jean, and I feel totally hip when I wear them. For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 27.
Snuggling pics with Carter and the pups will always be a favorite.
Wednesday night was our last soccer game of the season. We lost, but the boys played their hearts out, and we love our team and coach. Carter and his friend Ben were really playing well together, and Ben’s mama (my friend Sarah) commented on how they really had some on field chemistry and were a really great team. Chris goes, “Kinda like Siegfried and Roy.” We all laughed and laughed at how random that was, and then we found ourselves yelling for Siegfried and Roy the rest of the game, although Sarah kept getting confused and yelling Sigmund Freud. IT WAS HYSTERICAL.
After the game, Chris had a little fun.
I cannot look at this picture and not die laughing. I texted it to Sarah and we think Ben looks like less like Roy and more like Blanche from The Golden Girls.
LUNCH WITH DAD
Some of y’all might remember that my dad had heart issues back in 2017 and ended up having a triple bypass. He had a really difficult time for months and months after his surgery, and after he was finally better, we decided we would start getting together for a regular lunch date! I wish it was every month, but it’s more like every several months. We always meet at Bazille (the Nordstrom restaurant) and have such a nice time. I treasure our lunches. Love you, Dad!
It’s AnthroPerks Day! This means AnthroPerks members can take 20% OFF their orders this weekend (and get FREE SHIPPING with $50 order minimums)!
While at Northpark earlier this week, I breezed through Anthropologie and this dress stopped me in my tracks. It comes in standard, petite, and plus. It’s full lined with a stretchy lining and is beautifully made. AND IT HAS POCKETS! I wish I would have taken the time to try it on and had a place to wear it.
And in honor of Anthro Perks day, I wanted to refresh your memory on some of my recent Anthro finds just in case you might want to grab one of them now that they are ON SALE!
This embroidered blouse is absolutely dreamy. The embroidery work, the colors, and the floral pattern are all gorgeous. And the sleeves! LOOK AT THE SLEEVES! They reach almost to my elbow (I really love the longer length) and they have gathered and ruffled details that are just so pretty. It’s got a boho vibe and I totally dig it. I’ll also be wearing this top with denim shorts, white jeans, and regular denim. Also…just fyi…it looks like it’s realllllllly low cut, but it’s not! I can wear it without a cami and not show any cleavage. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
This skirt is ADORABLE. It only has 9 reviews, but they are ALL FIVE STAR! It’s cute, it’s flirty, and the fit is so flattering! I’m wearing a medium petite, but I think they are just about sold out of the petite. I think a regular small would have worked on me as well.
When I saw this embroidered blouse online, I was immediately smitten. I threw it in my cart immediately, I got it, I tried it on, I fell in love, and then I realized how much I paid for it. Oops! Well, once I tried it on, there was no going back. It’s the most expensive shirt I’ve ever purchased (and probably ever will), but gosh I love it. Click HERE to see me in it with white jeans. For size reference, I wear a medium because there’s not much give in the chest and I need the room.
I also found this blouse y’all. I definitely can’t afford it (especially after buying the one below), but I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a prettier blouse. The square neck! The pink! The ruffles! The embroidery!
MOST REQUESTED LINKS
I often get requests for the same links repeatedly, so I thought that today I would review the ones that are definitely the most popular…
Every year when it starts getting warmer, I start getting strapless bra questions.
If you’ve been following along for awhile, you’ve been hearing me talk about this bra for like 6 years now. Listen to me when I say this to you: this strapless bra is the best strapless bra in the history of the world. I’m telling you, there’s not a better one out there. It has nice rounded cups, it stays put, and you won’t find yourself pulling up on it. LIKE EVER. I wear it when I don’t even have to wear a strapless, so that’s saying something. Have you ever heard anybody give a glowing recommendation for a strapless bra before? GET THIS BRA.
Sizing tips: Some buy their regular size, and some size up in the band or the cup.
Click HERE for this strapless. Even if you are large chested, you need to try this bra. And you see it also comes with detachable straps. You can wear them straight, you can criss cross them in the back, or you can of course take them off all together.
I’m frequently asked for my favorite bra and undie recommendations, and I have a couple of different faves…
I love the no show undies from Soma seen below. I’ve actually found bras that I love better than this one that are less expensive (you’ll hear more about them next week)…..but these undies are LEGIT.
When they say “vanishing lines”, they mean it. And there’s a Buy 3, Get 2 FREE special right now!
THIS BRA is one I named it a MUST HAVE several years ago, and I know so many of you are believers now too! If you doubt me, just check out the online reviews. The cups are perfectly rounded, it has just the right amount of lining, and the material is oh so comfy. And look how pretty the straps are! Click HERE for the bra. True to size for me.
I discovered the THESE UNDIES (my other favorites) 5-6 years ago, and now they have a cult following. (They are called “girl briefs”, but they are definitely for women.) They stay in place without digging into the skin, rolling down, etc. Plus, they are pretty with the lace detailing. And I’m telling you, you can barely even tell you have them on! I wear a small, so they are true to size for me. I initially bought 1 pair to try several years ago, and then I immediately hopped on and purchased 3 more. Since my initial purchase, I’ve probably purchased 20 additional pair. When I found myself sad when they were all in the laundry, I started grabbing several pair every time they were on sale. Life’s too short to wear undies that you don’t love. You can quote me on that.
OH…and very important…I DO NOT HAND WASH THESE UNDIES! Who in the world would do that? I just wash them with everything else!!!
Okay, ladies. These sneakers really are amazing, and they just might be my very favorite Amazon purchase all year long! I get questions about them ALL THE TIME.
These mesh sneakers (that I’m wearing in soooooo many of the Amazon posts) are freaking fantastic. Mine are the “6701 apricot”, but I think they are more of a nice neutral taupe with maybe a hint of blush. I’m typically a 6-6/12, and the 6s were good for me in these. I would suggest to size down a 1/2 if between sizes.
These sneakers are like no other sneakers I’ve ever had. They almost feel like a thick and tight sock when wearing them, but they are obviously shoes because of the soles and the tread on the bottom. Readers are obsessed too! One claimed she “wore them all over Europe with no pain” and another said that she “pops them in the washing machine and they come out perfectly“. Another said that she wears them without socks “but they never get stinky like her Converse“. All really good information, right?
They come in TONS of colors and go on easily with just a little tug on the tabs in the back.
They have THOUSANDS of 5 Star Reviews, and the price point is incredible.
So I started with the “apricot” (a great neutral with a hint of blush) back in August of 2019, and I added the black ones a couple of months later. However, these are the 2nd black ones I ordered because the first pair was terrible. The first ones I ordered were the exact same design as the apricot pair, but you could see my toes through the mesh. It was the weirdest (and ugliest) thing! So, I hopped back online and ordered the black ones you see below, AND I LOVE THEM.
I had to size down a 1/2 in the apricot, so I sized down a 1/2 in the black too. They are fine, but my toes feel a little bit more snug in the black ones, so I’m thinking I could have probably stuck with my regular size.
My apricot sneakers are specifically the 6701 Apricot. The black sneakers are specifically the 06702 Black.
SERIOUSLY, LADIES. These sneakers are freaking fantastic. TRY THEM FOR YOURSELF! Full disclosure, I have the light grey ones now too (see them on me in this post with my pink must have leggings).
I get a handful of questions asking me for my stick vacuum recommendation every single week.
Click HERE for the original post where I give an extremely thorough review.
Here’s the short story…
The furry fellas make our vacuums probably the most used appliances in our house, and this stick vacuum has seriously exceeded our expectations. It’s SOOOOOOOOOO much better than the dust buster we had been using for years for all the jobs when we didn’t want to drag out the big vacuum. It’s more powerful, it’s easier on our backs, and even though it’s much larger than our dust buster…it still manages to get in to smaller spaces. We started out using it daily, but still pulling out our big vacuum at least once a week. Now that we’ve had it for like 9 months, I can’t even tell you the last time we pulled out our big vacuum. I LOVE THIS VACUUM and I seriously don’t know how I went almost my entire life without a cordless vacuum. IT’S A GAME CHANGER, Y’ALL.
Another link I get asked for all the time is for great lounge/pajama sets, and I’ve highlighted a ton from Amazon over the last couple of years.
This set is buttery soft and have over 2,000 5 STAR REVIEWS! I’m wearing a small, and they still have a little bit of room, so I would say they run a tad big. I fell in love with the pink tie dye, but there are tons of color options available, and not all of them are tie dye.
This tie dye set is soft, comfy, and all sorts of fun. The top is a little bit cropped on me, but it doesn’t show my tummy or anything. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
This leopard pajama set is kind of velvety on the outside and kind of silky on the inside. It’s sooooooooooo soft. The cuffs, the neck, and the bow (not functional, just for looks) are all a satin type material. These shorts are a little bit longer than most shortie pajama sets I’ve tried, so that might appeal to some of you! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
leopard velvet pajama set (BW leopard)
These star pajamas are crazy soft, super cozy, and just plain cute. I love this soft grey with the pink stars, but they are tons of color options. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. I think I would prefer the fit of a medium top (I like really roomy pajamas), but a medium in the bottoms would be too big.
This cute little short pajama set reminds me very much of my Cool Night’s Soma sets that I have, but the set is much less expensive. One of the reviews even says “soft as baby clothes” and I’d have to agree! SERIOUSLY SO SOFT. I love the little black dots and the pink piping on this set, but there are so many colors and patterns to choose from. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
MY SUMMER DRINK
GIRLS. You might have seen my ig story documenting the fact that the Jalapeno Limeade IS BACK! I discovered this combo (at the recommendation of my friend Lisa) at the very end of last summer, and before I knew it, the seasonal limeade was no longer available.
Listen to me when I say this to you. Get a jar or 5 now.
Add some tequila and some fresh lime juice and OHHHH MYYYYY YUMMMMM.
Get yourself to Trader Joe’s immediately.
