Anniversary Sale Prep: Items I Already Own and Love AND What’s In My Cart!

LADIES!  IT’S ALMOST HERE!

If you’re an Icon (Level 4), you can shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.  If you’re an Ambassador (Level 3), you can shop the sale on Friday.  And as always, I will be your Anniversary Sale Tour Guide!  I hope to be a really great resource to you and my plan is to make shopping the sale FUN.  You should probably eat some tacos today and get a really good night’s sleep tonight.  And hydrate.  Preparation is key.

I’ve got 2 collages for you today to help you get a game plan.  I wanted to keep things simple, so I divided the collages into two categories:  1)  Items I already own and love.  2)  What’s in my cart.

ITEMS I OWN AND LOVE

This collage is full of items that I’ve had and loved FOR YEARS.  Most are tried and true items that I can really stand behind and have lots of experience with.

The collage also contains a handful of items that were sent to me by brands a couple of weeks ago.  I had time to try them on, wear them around the house a bit, and really get a feel for if I loved them!

  1. baby blardigan  / 2.  v neck tunic  / 3.  blouson wrap top  / 4.   1. baby blardigan –  I get a blardigan every single year during the sale.  This year I plan on grabbing #24 in the collage below in the taupe.
  2. v neck tunic  –  This is the cozy top we all know and love.  And this new oatmeal heather pattern is DARLING.  Heads up, size down in this for sure.  Even the x-small is roomy on me, but it’s supposed to be a relaxed fit.  I already have the top (see it on me on tomorrow’s post), but I’m DEFINITELY grabbing the matching joggers as well.
  3. blouson wrap top  –  This top is made of the wonderful fabric that we’re all obsessed with (like in the v neck above), but it’s all dressed up in this faux wrap blouse with pretty gathered sleeves and cuffs.  You’ll be seeing it on me in oatmeal, black, and electric magenta in future posts. For size reference, I take a small in this top.
  4. SPANX faux leather leggings – I got these last year and think they are AWESOME. Size up, I wear a medium.  Click HERE to see them on me last year.
  5. cashmere sweater  –  I had this in black and in camel last year.  And I wore them both CONSTANTLY.  This year I’m going to grab the “pink contact”.  Click HERE to see it on me in both black and cashmere.  It was one of the READER TOP 10 items last year!
  6. MUST HAVE bra  – I’ve owned and loved this bra for years, and I named it a MUST HAVE over 5 years ago.  I always buy 1 of these during the sale and one of these too.  And the best strapless bra ever is in the sale this year as well!
  7. pajamas  –  I get a pair of these every year.  They are so soft, so cute, and launder great.
  8. MUST HAVE Itty Bitty Boot Cut Jeans – LADIES.  If you haven’t tried the itty bitty boot cut jeans yet, what in the world are you waiting for?  Do you not want to look 5 pounds thinner and 5 inches taller?  Wit and Wisdom sent me this new wash, and they are the perfect medium wash for Fall.  You’ll see them on tomorrow’s post.
  9. dark wash ankle jeans  –  This particular pair is the perfect dark wash with no distressing.  The ankle length is what I prefer because I want to be able to wear them easily with flats and booties.  I’ll be showing these on me on tomorrow’s post.
  10. grey jeans  –  These grey jeans have everything we love from Wit and Wisdom.  They’re so good, and I love the grey for Fall.
  11. sweater  –  Last year I got a fun stripe, this year I’m going for the ivory.
  12. MUST HAVE undies –  GET THESE UNDIES.  Get them now.  Please.  I beg of you.  Just try them.  They are MUST HAVES.  If you’ve already been converted to these undies, then I know you stock up every year during the sale!  Most people that try these end up slowly replacing all of their undies with these babies.
  13. adidas sneakers – I got the sneakers last year with gold stripes, these are just the all black version for this year.  They’re great.  There’s also a black and white cheetah option.
  14. leopard flats –  These need no explanation.  They are the perfect leopard flat.  A sassy neutral that makes just about every outfit cuter, and I love the modern pointy toe.  They are true to size for me, but I hear to size up if you have a wide foot.
  15. Sorel booties –  I got these last year and quickly became OBSESSED.  I’ll talk more about them tomorrow.  True to size for me, but after reading reviews online, it seems like if you are between sizes that you should go up a 1/2 size. I wore them all over Boston on my girl’s trip last year.
  16. MUST HAVE throw – Ladies.  If you know, you know.  If you don’t know, YOU NEED TO KNOW.  Put at least 1 in your cart to try, but I promise you will end up coming back for more.  Otherwise, the people in your house will be fighting for it.  We own MANY, and I’ve given sooooooooooo many as gifts!

WHAT’S IN MY CART

So, these are items that I either have on my wish list ready to move to my cart tomorrow, or I know they are at my local store and I’ll be trying them on tomorrow.

I won’t be able to keep everything in this collage, but these are the items that caught my eye online.  I know there will be stuff in the store tomorrow that I’ll end up loving (that’s not even on this collage), but I always start with a list and go from there.

There are no jeans in this collage because Wit and Wisdom sent me every pair of their jeans in the sale. I’ll be showing you 4 pairs on me tomorrow (the 3 in the collage above and the raw hem option) , and I’ll show the rest throughout the sale.  They’re SO GOOD, and they are all UNDER $50!

1 – 3  green earrings , link hoop earrings , dainty necklace –  These were easily my top 3 accessories I liked when looking online.  The green is so pretty, and I love the simplicity of the other earrings and necklace.
4. Tory Burch cognac bag  – This bag is GORGEOUS.  If I like it in person as much as I think I will, I’m not sure I’ll be able to resist it.  You can double the strap up and wear it over your shoulder, or you can wear it cross body.  The color is so pretty and it’s just so classic.
5. lighted vanity mirror  –  This would be a major splurge, but I’ve been hearing great things and am seriously considering it.
6. caviar sticks (eye color trio)  – I have several friends that use these and love them, so I figured now would be a good time to try them.
7.  Charlotte Tilbury Glowing Skin set –  Y’all know I’m a Charlotte Tilbury lover.  This set has my beloved Magic Cream, it also has a Magic Serum and a face primer.  I’M ALL IN.
8.  striped cross body tote –  I LOVE THIS BAG.  So great for casual Fall outfits!
9.  North Face quilted jacket –  I had a Bernardo jacket like this a couple of years ago, but I lost it.  I need a replacement, and I really like the collar on this one.
10. North Face fleece jacket  –  Okay.  I’m not sure about the shape of this jacket.  It might be too bulky, and I think I would prefer a zipper instead of snaps.  HOWEVER, I love the color combo and collar so much that I want to give it a try.
11.  leopard bomber jacket  –  I just think this is fun and knew I had to try it.  I wanted it last year, but could never get my hands on my size.
12.  wireless bralette  –  People scream and shout about this bra, so I knew it was high time for me to find out what all the fuss was all about.  People were right.  I got it last week (full price) just so I could review it before the sale went live, and yeah…it’s awesome.
13. pintuck lace top –  This just looks pretty and will look great styled with jeans and booties.
14.  leopard blouse  – I think this blouse will be great with regular jeans, with black jeans, and with black work pants.
15. twist hem top  –  Love the color, the sleeves, and the criss cross design.
16. smocked mock neck blouse – I swooned over the pretty smocked neck and the detailing on the sleeves.
17. perforated booties  –  Shoes are often times my favorite part of the sale…but almost every year I change what I think my favorites are going to be after I actually try them on.  With my booties, I like them to be low on the ankle so there can be a tiny bit of skin showing between the bootie and the hem of the jeans.  This year, a lot of the booties seem like they go higher than I want them too.  I liked the color of these and think they will be low enough for my liking.
18.  camo sneakers  –  I have camo sneakers that are a couple of years old, but they are in bad shape.  Hoping to love these!
19.  leopard booties  –  I have leopard booties already that I love, but I wanted to try these because I had lots of readers interested in them.
20.  Veja sneakers  –  OKAY.  I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THESE SNEAKS.  They aren’t going to have them at my Nordstrom, but I’m ordering them right at 8:30 tomorrow morning.  Mama wants these sneaks.
21.  tan mules  –  These look great, and I think the gold chain is fun!
22. open cardigan  – Great color!  And I love that it’s casual and open.
23.  dolman sleeve cardigan  –  I have one of these in blush from a couple of years ago and wear it all the time.  It’s time for a new color.
24.  blardigan  –  I get a new blardigan every year.  IT’S A TRADITION.  If you’re new here, I bought my first Barefoot Dreams cardigan like 6 years ago and lovingly named it a blardigan because it was like it was part blanket and part bardigan.  And it’s like a legit word now!  If you type “blardigan” on the Nordstrom site, a couple of choices will pop up.  I guess it’s because enough people have called it a “blardigan” in their reviews, but I think it’s so fun!
25.  stretch blazer  –  So I ended up getting this sent to me already, AND OMG IS IT GOOD.  I’ll be showing you the red one on me tomorrow.
26. crewneck pullover  –  I love a basic sweater and this one looks good.
27. Zella cozy wrap jacket – This caught my eye because I love how it drapes.  Looks like the perfect jacket to wear with leggings when running around town.

SOME MORE OUTFIT IDEAS with NORDSTROM LOOKS!

I also took some time to create some Nordstrom looks, all with Anniversary Sale pieces.  Sorry that the pics are so small (if I make them big, they get grainy), but I still wanted y’all to see the outfits I put together!  I had so much fun doing this with Nordstrom’s technology and hopefully I’ll get the picture sizing figured out in the future.

    Thank you! I was just wearing a summer sweatshirt/shirt you recommended so many years ago. It’s funny how I think of you when wearing certain pieces. “Sheaffer’s shirt”. (It is gray/ivory chevron, v neck, with lace down the sleeves. You told me to size up, were SO RIGHT, and you’ve had me every since.)
    Of course now Blardigan’s for all my faves, Sheaffer’s bras and undies. The list goes on and on!
    I appreciate all the time you put into it – especially since I won’t get out in person this year and stores seem to have more limited stock.

    First, I wanted to say THANK YOU! You are always the best source for the Anniversary Sale, and I appreciate it so much – I look forward to these posts and the sale all year 🙂 I had an odd question about the Sorel Booties. I do not typically wear heeled shoes (mostly all flat or close to flat) and I saw that these have a 3 1/2 heel. If this makes sense, does it feel like you are wearing a heeled boot in these?     That throw is something else! We gave one to my mom for Christmas and ended up ordering one for our house right afterwards… its the most stolen item in our home (it wins hands down even over the phone chargers!!!!). I’m gifting one to our son for his birthday next week, and our youngest will prob get one for her bday in September (HAAAAA)!
