LET’S GET BUSY.
Here’s what’s happening today.
I’m going to be showing you the BEST OF THE BEST of what I tried on at my local Nordstrom. THE STUFF IS GOOD, Y’ALL. And although the post is long, please know that I tried on a ton of stuff that I’m not showing you today. If I tried it on and didn’t love it, I took it right off and didn’t even take a picture. Nobody’s got time to see things I’m not recommending.
Here’s a little peek at what you are going to see today!
Let’s kick off today’s post with a look at my favorite shoes.
The shoe department is awesome this year, and there are actually lots of shoes that I really like, but I settled on the below as my favorites.
These DV sneakers are fabulous, and I’m thrilled to have them in my closet. I’ve purchased a couple of DV sneakers over the last several years, but the others have had more of a design on them (ex. camo, glitter), so I’m happy to have these plain white sneaks (with just the perforations). Very comfy. I sized down a 1/2, but others are saying true to size.
I will wear these with regular denim, black jeans, grey jeans, skirts, and dresses.
And I can promise you I will wear the heck out of them.
For those of you that want a little more sass, these are the same sneakers in black with metallic accents. I went with the white, but I actually like these too. They are an excellent alternative to Golden Goose sneakers, and they are a fraction of the price.
These chunky chain mules are definitely a favorite of mine from the sale. The chunky chain is FAB. I grabbed the plaid and the cognac, although I’m not sure if I’m going to keep the cognac or exchange for the taupe. I can’t decide! I did size up a 1/2 in these.
I love that there are so many color options…

I had to get the plaid. #hadto

What do y’all think? Do I keep the cognac, or do I exchange for the taupe? I have a neutral pair from last year, but they have a gold chain. The old pair of neutral ones are what’s keeping me from exchanging the cognac. I just can’t decide!

I came home with the Steve Madden booties seen below.
I LOVE the style. I love the chunky heel. I love the pointy toe. And I love all of the color options, but I went with the tan suede.
True to size for me and quite comfy.
Now I will say, I had a bit of difficulty getting them off and on with ease in the Nordstrom dressing room. I’m imagining that it’s because I was hot and sweaty after trying on so many fall and winter clothes (because it was easy when I first put them on), but I did pull a couple of links for options for y’all with booties that have zippers in the back. Great options with zippers on the back are this pair from BP (fantastic reviews and only $55!) and this pair from Vince Camuto.

I love this updated version of a classic slingback pump. They are a very manageable 3 1/4 inch heel, and as you can see, the heel is a little sculptural and a little chunky. My favorite part of the shoes is the comfy slingback. They come in a gorgeous nude too. True to size.

It’s been several years since I bought a new pair of nice slippers in the sale, so this was the year. I couldn’t resist this hot pink, but they also come in grey. I’m typically a 6 1/2, and these only come in whole sizes. I sized down, and they are snug, but that’s how I like them (so my feet stay put when walking). The size 7s fit too, they were just roomier.
I didn’t grab a shot of my necklaces, but this toggle chain necklace and this medallion pendant necklace are what I’m wearing in all of my outfits on today’s post. They layer beautifully, and I love the interest they provide. And because of the difference in materials with the chunky chain and the thin chain, they don’t tangle at all!
These are all the earrings I got. Love!
I didn’t get the Michele watch, but it’s an amazing deal, so I wanted to show it. My other favorite pieces are shown too.
THE BEST WORK PANTS EVER
Okay friends, listen up!!!
Y’all. Everybody needs these pants. But if you work in an office environment, YOU HAVE TO HAVE THEM.
Seriously, they are a MUST HAVE.
You should replace all of your black slacks you own with these. You will never want to wear any other black pants again for the rest of your life.
They are created with technology that is designed to “mold, shape, and hold”. And I don’t know about you, but I long to be molded, shaped, and held by my pants. 😉 The pants are super soft with a lot of stretch and they are incredibly comfy. I’m telling you, there’s nothing like them. The front pockets are functional, and they have a faux zipper, but they do have 2 hook and eye closures with 1 button.
I’m wearing my regular size 4 (not petite). However, my tummy is my problem area. If you don’t have a problematic tummy area, you will probably want to size down.
I’m going to show you two more outfits with the pants just to further prove to you that you need them. Because you do.
This shirred split neck blouse has an elastic waist, a subtle flutter sleeve, and a kind of peplum hem below the elastic waist. The material is 100% viscose, and you just wash and dry it! The top looks great with jeans (as you’ll see later in the post), but I love it dressed up a bit with these black pants as well. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I think a small would be fine. The fit is very forgiving. It comes in several colors/patterns.
And 1 more outfit with these pants, this time styled with this floral split neck blouse (which you’ll also see with jeans later in the post). The smocked collar is so pretty, and I love the split neck. The sleeves are a little bit longer than 3/4 and have an elastic cuff. There are 4 colors/patterns to choose from. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
The next 2 pairs of pants are from Wit and Wisdom as well, but instead of basic black, 1 is a subtle grey plaid and the other is a tiny little check. They are a super similar material and have a similar fit of the black pants above, but these maybe have a little less give (even though they are still stretchy).
These are the check, and although it says they are navy and grey, the navy is so dark it looks black to me. I’m wearing my regular size 4. These fit just a bit more snugly than the black pants, but if you are often between sizes, you might still consider sizing down.
I know it’s hard to see in these pictures, but these pants are the large scale plaid. They’ll look good with black, cream, and grey.
And here are the pointed toe slingback pumps I’m wearing in all of the above pictures! I LOVE THEM. As mentioned at the beginning of the post, they are a very manageable 3 1/4 inch heel. And as you can see, the heel is a little sculptural and a little chunky. My favorite part of the shoes is the comfy slingback. They come in a gorgeous nude too. True to size.
JEANS, TEES, SWEATERS, CARDIGANS, and JACKETS
All right, time for lots of denim outfits!
This is one of the blouses you saw at the beginning of the post with the must have black pants and heels, but I think it looks great with denim too!
So let’s talk about the denim.
These itty bitty boot cut jeans are also a MUST HAVE. I know I’ve said this on the blog at least 50x, but these itty bitty bootcuts make you look 5-10 pounds thinner and 2 inches taller (than you already are). THEY ARE MAGIC JEANS. And you will feel incredible in them. I’m 5’4″ with long legs for my height, and I wear the regular in these (not the petites). Just like you have come to expect from Wit and Wisdom, they are stretchy, comfy, and uber flattering. I’m wearing my regular size 4, but most size down.
Here are the same jeans, styled again with the shirred split neck blouse also seen earlier in the post with the black pants. I love how versatile these blouses are!
I think black jeans are an essential piece for everybody’s closets.
These black jeans are fabulous. So soft, so stretchy, and so flattering. I’m wearing a 6P (I’m 5’4′ with long legs for my height) because I wanted a little ankle to show. I might have been able to wear a 4P, but they didn’t have that size in store for me to try. Pro Tip: In order to help the black jeans keep their color, I only wash them every several times I wear them. These hold their shape really well, so there’s no real reason to wash them unless they are dirty.
The tee has a perfectly relaxed fit and will be great on its own as well as layered under jackets and cardis. It runs a little big, and I’m wearing a small. Have I mentioned that it’s incredibly soft? #BECAUSEITIS I could go on and on about this tee.
2 colors of this tee have already sold out, so you better grab it if you want it.
Another tee option is this scoop neck tee that is UNDER $12! And it comes in TONS of colors! I wear a medium in this tee and already own it in several colors.
I wanted to show the tee on its own, but you will see several different colors of this tee layered under cardis and jackets throughout the post.
I’m also highlighting these two bags because I think they are gorgeous. They are beautifully made and quite a bit off during the sale.
And come on, how cute are the plaid chunky chain mules with the black jeans! They really elevate the outfit.
Here’s the same basic outfit you saw above. Same tee, same jeans, same jewelry, same shoes…I just threw a cardigan on the top. These open front cardigans have a tiny bit of wool in them, so if you are sensitive to wool, you might want to steer clear. These Madewell cardigans have the same look but are merino wool instead of regular wool, so they are softer.
They run large, so you definitely want to size down. For size reference, I’m wearing the x-small.

Same tee, different color.
And this time I switched out the cardis for a military jacket.
Y’all know how I feel about military jackets. If you don’t have that one, fix that now.
This one is 95% cotton and 5% spandex, so it has some good stretch to it. I love the fit and the color, but it comes in 3 additional colors as well. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. The waist does have an adjustable tie, so you can cinch it in to your preference.
tee (plus size tee HERE)/ military jacket (plus size jacket HERE) / earrings (gold sunset mix) / toggle chain necklace / medallion pendant necklace / black jeans /cognac chunky chain mules (size up a 1/2)
If you like big and cozy sweaters, I think you’re going to like this popcorn cotton sweater, It has great texture and an oversized and relaxed fit. I really love this bright winter white, but there are 6 color options. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
This ruffle neck sweater has ruffle detailing on both the neck and the cuffs and I really love the textured lines. I think this “fresh chili” is a gorgeous color. It runs large, so I’m wearing a small.
I never even saw this when browsing online, but I’m loving this ribbed dolman sleeve sweater. It’s SUPER soft, not itchy at all, and it’s ONLY $38.90! This is an incredible value. It will look great with all colors of denim, and the style is perfect for my black work pants too. It also comes in ivory, light grey, and a really pretty pink. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
THIS IS A GREAT SWEATER!
So here me out.
When I was trying things on, this ribbed henley sweater was one of my favorite finds. I loved the texture, I loved the fit, and I loved the big buttons. I was super excited about it, and I came home with both colors you see here.
But when I grabbed the link, I saw the reviews aren’t great at all. They say it doesn’t wash well. I’M SO SAD. I actually think I’m going to wash one of the colors so I can report back to you on my findings, so stay tuned. Fingers crossed they’ve improved the material and that it washes great!
This leather jacket has some edge to it. A removal hoodie insert of cozy fleece gives a cool layered look (and extra warmth without the bulk) to an essential moto jacket done in supple leather. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Here’s the military jacket styled again, this time with a white tee and booties with the black jeans.
One more outfit with the black jeans!
This floral cotton blouse is different than anything I own. I think it’s blousy and fabulous. This black blouse has blue and purple flowers, but I think the other colorways are fabulous too. In fact, the lighter colors makes it easier to see the details on the blouse (like the ruffle neck and sleeves). For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
Okay, we’re on to our 3rd pair of jeans today!
These girlfriend jeans are cool, and I think they are so cute styled with my white sneakers.
I wanted to show you a stock picture so you could see the details of the jeans.
With trouser-style side pockets for added versatility, these stretchy jeans flatter thanks to Ab-solution shaping panels that comfortably sculpt your curves. The front pockets aren’t functional, but the side pockets are.
I really love the vibe!
I’m wearing my regular size 4, but I would size down if between sizes.
Oh look, I’ve styled the military jacket again. 😉
And here’s the ribbed henley again. You know, the one that I fell in love with, only to read some reviews after bringing it home that last year’s version didn’t wash well. #whah
This one is super low stock in the regular sizing, but it seems like it’s still stocked in plus sizes. I thought it was fine, but I didn’t fall in love with it. The fit seemed a bit off for me.
I mean. How adorable is this skort. Ideal for tennis, workouts or outdoor exploring, this skort keeps you on the move in sweat-wicking, quick-drying fabric and a four-way-stretch skirt layer. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
The sneakers are ON SALE too! $40 OFF!
I ran out of time to highlight other activewear, and I’m off to the Sims family reunion for the weekend, so you’ll have to wait until next weekend to see more activewear highlighted. (You can click HERE to see all activewear in the sale.)
I will say that I grabbed this jacket in silver blue and love it. I wear a medium.
I grabbed 3 colors of this tee because I discovered them last year, wore them ALL THE TIME, and wanted more colors. I wear a medium. It’s my absolute favorite long sleeve top to wear with athleisure.
If you don’t have the must have leggings yet, get them now. Trust me. I wear a small.
Spanx sent me this fabulous tennis skirt in white, but I loved it so much that now it’s on its way to me in black. For size reference, I wear a medium.
Loungewear is always one of my favorite categories of the sale.
I get a pair of these pajamas (sometimes long and sometimes short) every couple of years. They hold up great, so I don’t need new ones every year, but I did grab the below pair this year. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
You know I had to go ahead and highlight a blardigan today. You simply can’t get any cozier. I’m wearing the x-small/small.
The slippers are FAB. I sized down a 1/2. They are fitted, so I don’t worry about them slipping off, and I love the way they feel. I thought the hot pink was so much fun.
This new blardigan is the one that I ended up grabbing this year.
It’s quite a bit longer than what I call the baby blardigan (seen directly above), and I really like the braided detailing and ribbed sleeves. I thought I was going to get the color seen below, but in the end I got the silver ice. If you’re new to the blog, I call this a “blardigan” because it’s part blanket and part cardigan.
It’s the softest thing you will ever put on your body, and it makes an EXCELLENT gift. Ove the last 8 years I’ve given them to my mom, my mother-in-law, Chris’s grandmother, one of Carter’s much beloved teachers, and countless friends and family members when they have gone through tough times. I say that giving a blardigan is like giving a hug.
Here’s another darling pattern of the pajamas. And you can click HERE for the long sleeve and pants version.
One more loungewear item today, and this one is special.
Do you want to lounge around in the ultimate in luxury? Do you want to never leave the house again?

If being comfy at home is important to you, you need to grab it.
My goodness it’s soft and seriously the coziest of the cozy. I’m wearing a small in the faded rose.
It’s absolutely dreamy.
DREAMY I SAY!
WOW! That’s it for today, y’all!
I hope the post was super helpful to you and made the sale easy to navigate and FUN to shop!
