White and Denim – Rocking it Since 1986

I saw these 2 pics, and I knew I had to recreate the white and denim look.
Denim and White together is a CLASSIC combination.

I really like how both outfits were styled.
Outfit on the left:
brown belt, SERIOUSLY short shorts (too short for me), brown bag, and gold bangles
 I liked it, but the outfit on the right was definitely my fav.
I never would have thought to pair the white necklace with a black bag and the nude patent flats, but I absolutely LOVED it.  I think it looks so modern and chic!
The nude flats totally caught my eye because of the nude flats that I featured on Friday.
When I highlighted the nude flats (because of a “Dear Sheaffer” question), I honestly didn’t really think about the fact that maybe I needed a pair.
And then I saw the above picture over the weekend.
And now it’s Monday, and now I think I need some.

And I really liked the look of them A LOT.
I think they look VERY similar to the pair in the inspiration pic.

 The color is pretty , and I really love that they are patent.
I met Shay at the mall Sunday afternoon

Okay, so this is how I interpreted the look:

 As you can see, I wore my TOMS with my outfit (HERE) and they were fine (love my Toms)….
but I think the outfit would have looked so much better with THESE.

 I REALLY like the white and denim together, so I tried to think of some other ways to style it.
For instance, and this is just off the top of my head…..
Maybe I’ll wear it belted at the waist with a pink belt with silver
hearts, white pleated shorts that hit just above the knee, and laceless
white keds with some white and blue plaid socks scrunched down around my
ankles.
Oh wait………
that’s been done……
Yep, I’ve been rocking denim (I believe back then we referred to it exclusively as “chambray”)
since around 1986.
I think the pic above was the first day of 6th  grade.
And NOTHING says I own 6th grade like white pleated knee length shorts.
Right?

    Cute clothes! The Happy Chick Dress would look darling on my daughter. By the way, the denim shirt from Nordstrom that you featured during the sale…bought it, wore it this weekend and then took my daughter up to Nordstrom here in town to get her one too! Talk about about a cross- generational (not sure that's a word) shirt! I also had them size my new rosé gold/silver Michael Kors watch, also posted by you…I took the Expresso one back…liked it but couldn't keep both and went with the two-toned. My daughter and I also got a white sequin bracelet. My fashion opinion has gained great credibility with my 20 year- old thanks to your posts!

    The denim shirt and white shorts has been my favorite outfit now for a few weeks. Love it paired with the white necklace. I've been pairing mine with an aqua necklace and belt and some jack Rogers. Another item I feel like is a must have is a sleeveless denim shirt!
    BTW, you were adorable in the 6th grade. Who would have ever thought you would be sporting a similar outfit in your thirties?!?!

    I have 6 pair of the Vince Camuto Ellen flats and I own a busy restaurant. I am on my feet all day and those flats are awesome. Worth every penny.
    Target has some nude, patent Mossimo flats that are pretty comfortable as well. And Coach has great comfortable flats online.
    In other news, I ordered the putty wedges. Fingers crossed on if I will love them also!!

    Love denim and white. I had a big chambray shirt back in the day with white guess tapered leg jeans and white fringed slouchy boots. And a concho belt. It was seriously rad, and I feel the need to re-create that look!
