WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT

This past weekend we had a great time at the ranch with friends and family!  It’s our favorite place on earth, and we love just going and soaking up tons of friend and family time!  I ate my weight in queso, indulged in an adult cocktail (or two…or three…)  :), watched football, watched the kiddos run around in wide open spaces, did a lot of front porch sitting, and even napped.   It was GLORIOUS!  Here are some pics from the weekend!  This is our view from the front porch.

And let’s get right to it.  Here’s my new favorite drink.  It’s a whopping 220 calories (boo!), but dang it’s delicious!  Over ice with a little lime juice it’s the best!

We went exploring on Saturday afternoon and thought it was a great time for the perfect photo opp!  HOW CUTE are these kids!  And check out Emmy’s little knee pop!

WHAT I’M LOVING

So do you remember this flat lay from my FALL OUTFIT PLANNING post?  It was super popular on social media.

When I finally got around to actually putting the outfit together, I made some adjustments here and there.  First, I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS SCARF!!!!  It’s light weight, styles itself (because it’s infinity), and I love the muted colors.  I decided to add a leopard belt (because DUH) and a new pair of wedge booties!

Look at the back of the booties!!!  I CAN HARDLY STAND THE CUTENESS!    They are true to size and also come in black and taupe.  They are very high, so they are not an all day shoe for most people, but they are actually quite comfy (because they are a wedge and not a heel).   Also, I know a lot of you aren’t fans of not wearing socks with booties, but you CAN wear socks with these!  They come up high enough on the ankle that a regular ol’ ankle sock works.  Click HERE for the wedge booties.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO

I’ve been doing a lot of praying for several friends that are going through some difficult times right now.  If you follow me on instagram you already saw this, but I wanted to make sure blog readers saw it too.  I know so many of you follow my friend Manda’s story and pray for her regularly.  And we appreciate each and every one of those prayers so very much.  Well, two weeks ago she got some hard news about how she was not responding as well to her trial as they were all hoping she was. She was sad and discouraged, but she posted the following on facebook (on the very night she received the news), and I was once again in absolute awe of my friend.  I hope her words touch you too.

Make sure you are following Manda Strong on Facebook for updates and prayer requests.  Manda, her husband Aaron. and her precious kids Aiden and Miley all appreciate every single bit of support.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON

Right now I’m currently working on finishing up my leggings and tunics post for Friday!  Part 1 can be found HERE, but on Friday I’ve got 1 great dress and 1 awesome sweater to share with y’all, and I’m SO EXCITED because I know y’all are going to love both pieces!  I’m especially excited about the sweater that is leggings appropriate!!!!

Earlier this week I wore the beautiful pink quartz ones (one of my faves) with my camo pants!  This sweater is the same sweater as the striped one I featured on Monday’s post.  It’s not quite as soft as it’s striped counterpart, but there’s a flecked detailing on this sweater, so it’s not just a flat grey, which I like. Fit is still great, and it’s still an awesome basic!  And it comes in plus size in 2 solid colors!

The earrings are lovely.  Like I said before, the pink quartz are a very subtle and pretty translucent light pink.  The below picture doesn’t do them justice, so refer to the picture of them in the tray above (on the far left) to get a better feel for their actual color.

Let’s talk about the camo pants for a second.  So many of you absolutely loved them when I talked about them on Friday, and several of you encouraged me to keep them (even though I already have a pair)!  I still don’t plan on keeping them (because I’ll just wear the ones I already own), but I wanted y’all to see how these are several inches too long on me at almost 5’4″.  If I were to keep these pants, I would definitely need to get them hemmed…but that’s great news for you taller ladies!  I’m wearing a 27, so I think they are true to size.

In addition to working on upcoming blog posts, I’ve also been going around my house and taking inventory because I hope to fall in love with lots of things that I can bring back and find the perfect spot for!  Girls!  To say I’m excited just doesn’t do it justice!!!!!!!

WHAT I’M WEARING

So since I have this top in 3 colors, I’m wearing it frequently.  In case you missed it the first time I posted it, click HERE to see it in the neutral Sphinx color.  I’m wearing a small, so I think it’s true to size.  It’s shorter in the front and longer in the back (which I LOVE).  I’m not doing a 1/2 tuck, the shirt just styles itself!
