Happy Wednesday, Everybody! It’s time to join up today with Shay and me to let everybody know WHAT’S UP this fine Wednesday! This post is sponsored by Nordstrom Rack and ShopStyle. The product selections are my own, and I only highlight and promote pieces that I truly love. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Sheaffer Told Me To!
Let’s get right to it!
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
Y’all know I love a cozy sweater, and the sweater selection at Nordstrom Rack right now is AMAZING. Soooooo many colors, so many styles, so many different fits…and all at a super reduced price!
I scrolled through the hundreds and hundreds of sweaters and picked out some favorites to share with you today!
1) cowl neck sweater/ 2) layered sweater/ 3) dolman sleeve sweater / 4) color block hoodie / 5) embroidered leopard print sweater / 6) confetti knit cardigan / 7) Love by Design eyelash sweater / 8) open front cardigan / 9) cozy leopard pullover / 10) Club Monaco oversize sweater / 11) ribbed v neck sweater / 12) cowl neck sweater / 13) funnel neck sweater
The layered sweater (#2) would be perfect for the office, and it’s ONLY $24.97! Later in the post I’m styling it casually with jeans and really love the look.
The embroidered leopard print sweater (#5) is a designer sweater from Ted London. I think it would look fantastic with black jeans and black boots, and it’s 62% OFF.
The eyelash sweater (#7) is adorable, and I love all of the colors! And you’re not going to believe this, but it’s ONLY $19.97!
A great camel cowl neck sweater (#12) is hard to resist, and this one is 64% OFF, making it under $35. WOW.
See a couple of the sweaters on me later in the post!

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
Last year my home was all sorts of done up for Fall. Click HERE to see that post if you are in need of some Fall inspiration.

WHAT I’M LOVING
This kid.
If you follow me on instagram you already know this, but Carter’s heel started hurting really badly after his first soccer game of the season a couple of weekends ago. We took him to the podiatrist, and he was diagnosed with Sever’s Disease. I think it sounds a lot more scary than it actually is, and I’ve learned that it’s actually pretty common for kids his age. In a nutshell, Sever’s is a type of bone injury in which the growth plate in the lower back of the heel (where the Achilles tendon attaches) becomes inflamed and causes pain. And I’m telling you, the heel pain was INTENSE. You should have seen how he was walking before he got the boot. He had to wear the boot with an insert for a week and now he’s wearing an insert in his shoe. We go back to the doctor today for a check to see if it’s healing properly.
But even though he couldn’t play, we still went to his game to cheer his team on.
He’s been such a champ!
It’s definitely feeling better, so we’re very hopeful that he’ll get the all clear today!

WHAT I’M EATING
I have a new favorite restaurant and a new favorite dish.
Last year I met Erika and Shay at First Watch one morning for brunch. I remember really enjoying it, but for some reason I hadn’t been back.
Well, Chris and I went a couple of weeks ago, and I got one of their skillet hash dishes. OMG. Crispy potatoes, bacon, onion, tomatoes, and avocado? With a fried egg on top? YES TO THE M’AM.
Full disclosure, I somehow convinced him to go back the very next day after Carter’s soccer game. And I got the same thing. And I felt good about it. #noshame

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
We were able to sneak off to the ranch last weekend for a really quick trip. It was just our little family, and it was nice to be able to just relax and enjoy each other at our favorite place.

WHAT WE ARE DOING THIS WEEKEND
We’re crossing our fingers Carter will be playing with his soccer team!

WHAT I’M WATCHING
I might be the only person in America, but I’m still watching Dancing With The Stars. Here’s the deal though…I’m reallllllllly missing Tom and Erin. Tyra Banks isn’t doing it for me. AT ALL.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
At this very moment, Carter and a friend are playing foosball upstairs, and there’s some pretty epic trash talking going on. I think Carter just scored because his friend just said “OH – It’s ON. Like Donkey Kong.” Hahahahaha!

WHAT I’M WORKING ON
I have several collaborations coming up that I’m super excited about! One is with a new to me cosmetics brand, and I’m having fun getting to know all of the products and figuring out what works for me.

WHAT I’M WEARING
Instead of just highlighting the Nordstrom Rack sweaters in a collage, I decided to order a couple of them for myself!
I love the look of a layered sweater, and this one is awesome. This sweater is beautifully made (it’s Adriana Papell!), and it’s just under $25! That’s right, IT’S UNDER $25!!! The silky peek a boo fabric is a soft blush with a tiny black polka dot, and it can easily be dressed up or down. It would be great for the office with nice black slacks or even a pencil skirt. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It’s more of a slim fit than a boxy fit.
Ladies. This dolman sleeve sweater is 71% OFF, so it’s ONLY $19.97. That’s CRAZY! It’s so soft, very well made, and such a pretty neutral. And this cowl neck beauty was just added to the site yesterday. I love the rust and the under $20 price!

That’s it for today, y’all!
Thank you to Nordstrom Rack and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post. I hope you found a sweater or two that you couldn’t live without! And I have to know, am I really the only person in the world watching Dancing With The Stars?
Don’t forget to link up and let us know what you are up to!

Hmmmm….I’m trying to think back to the last season of Dancing with the Stars I watched and can’t remember! Maybe it was Sean’s season? How long ago was that?
Jen says
I wish Nordstrom rack had free shipping and returns like Nordstrom does
Jennifer Gray says
So sorry for Carter! We’ve been there – along with a few of my son’s friends. The biggest thing to do now is buy the sports inserts for his soccer cleats. Why cleat companies (soccer/football/baseball) don’t put any kind of “padding” in their shoes is crazy! So, insert that padding and after he plays, ice his heel – and ice everyday!!! Hope that helps!
Kala says
I’m still watching DWTS! I agree that Tom and Erin are sorely missed, can’t watch Tyra. I actually record it and fast forward to just watch the dancers! Have a great Wednesday!
Emily says
I miss Tom dearly, too! He was so funny and much more natural. (Erin…not so much. I found myself yelling at the tv at her every week…I’m not proud. ?) I am also tired of the canned audience noise- they’re doing the best they can, I get it, but I think they’d dance better with people there to watch.

My son has battled with sever’s on and off for 2 years. I’ve heard it usually acts up before a big growth spurt. Look up achilles stretches and heel stretches and have him so them for 30 seconds/3x a day even when he’s not in pain. My PT swears by it.
Ashley Royer says
I’m so sorry for Carter! I hope he’s back to playing soccer this weekend. My son struggled for a long time with Severs. Stretching was a huge help for him!
Sarah says
I’m missing Tom and Erin too!!!
Krista says
1. Carter is looking more and more like you (if that’s even possible) – so handsome! Hope he get’s released to play, I imagine that’s been so hard, glad you’re being so positive about it all!
2. I’m with you on DWTS – I did some Googling, and seems they’re trying to get the viewership up? I hope it works because I do enjoy the show. But I agree, it’s just not the same.
3. LOVE Nordstrom Rack – do wish they had free shipping and returns, but assume that’s how they keep prices low.
Shay Shull says
I love all of the sweaters…and your devotion to DWTS. 😉
Monique says
Nordstrom Rack has free shipping with $49 it above until 10/5. The code is SAhg1n3wxkqldxx
Hope this helps all of us who like free shipping!
Taylor says
I also miss Tom and Erin!
Michelle O says
You’re not the only one watching Dancing With The Stars…Tyra’s not doing it for me either!
Alisha Wilson says
Hi Sheaffer,
What are the booties you are wearing in the cute bow blouse picture? My daughter also suffers from Severs…hope Carter is on the mend soon.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Alisha! They are the Vince Camuto Gradina Block Heel Booties. I got them at Nordstrom! xoxo
Cherie says
How do I not know about First Watch? I see a family brunch in our very near future!
Jeanie says
I’m glad Carter’s healing well. I couldn’t help but notice how intent the dogs were looking at his cookie. I hope they got a treat, too. I will have to check out the sweaters. I’m an avid Rack shopper and plan to go tomorrow.
Connie says
Poor Carter. He’s adorable by the way. I hope he heals quick. It’s no fun missing out on sports. My daughter had Severs Disease as well while playing softball and two years later she still wears the shoe inserts. She did the physical therapy for 6 weeks and she recommended the shoe inserts. My daughter feels like she needs them in her shoes. I guess it helps if they have low arches. I’m into The Masked Singer! I enjoy reading your blog. Have a great evening!
Terri says
One of my daughters was a gymnast, and they all got Sever’s at about age 10. It was practically a rite of passage! The Tuli Cheetah was the magical cure for them because they couldn’t wear shoes while working out. If the straight heel cup isn’t working, try the Tuli Cheetah (it is a heel cup sewn into an elastic sock-like contraption) for when he is barefoot or wearing shoes with an open back. Sever’s cleared up for most of the kids in a week or two.
Sheaffer says
Thanks for the tip, Terri! xoxo
Heather says
Still watching DWTS! And agree, I miss Tom and Erin. And Len for that matter!
MindaC says
Hope sweet Carter heals quickly! I placed my first Rack order a few weeks ago. They had a crazy clearance on shoes and I bought some peep toe booties. I’ve always wanted a pair but wasn’t sure how much I’d wear them but at such a low price, it was a risk worth taking 🙂 I also bought a couple of tops and some sheets. I liked everything and will check them out more often.
