Happy Friday, Ladies!
My goodness it has been a week. I have to say, I’m crawling towards the finish line right now. I haven’t looked this forward to a weekend in a long time, and I’m just so ready to have some down time with my people and to recharge!
But before we all get started on our weekends, I’ve got several outfits for you today, and all 5 of them are styled with my short cognac booties. I first highlighted these booties about a month ago, but today’s post is dedicated to them!
If you remember, about a week ago I highlighted some tall cognac boots, but today is all about the shorties!
Do you remember this outfit that I planned at the bottom of my Charlotte Tilbury makeover post? Well, today is the day you get to see it all on me! And I’ll go ahead and tell you this, I’m wearing AND LOVING every single piece you see in the below collage.
Let’s kick things off with this fabulous sweater and super cool jeans.
It’s soft, it’s cozy, and it has the most amazing stand-up collar. The overall fit is relaxed, and while great on its own, it’s definitely roomy enough to layer things under it as well. It also comes in black.
On my 5’4″ frame, I can wear it out, but it’s also long enough for me to do a 1/2 tuck. Not sure if that would be the case for somebody with a long torso, but it totally works on me.
This is the first time I’m showing these cropped jeans on the blog.
These are “Fab Ab High Waist Mom Jeans”, and I’m a big ol’ fan. They are straight legged jeans with an awesome amount of stretch (they are SO comfy) and an unfinished distressed hem. They also feature “Fab Ab” paneling which keeps you sucked in. For size reference, I’m wearing a 4, but I would recommend sizing down if between sizes.
All of my booties from last year are suede, so I was excited to add a leather pair to my closet. (It’s always great to have a leather option for rainy days, plus I just love how the leather looks so polished.) They come in bone and black as well, but I knew I would get the most wear (and bang for my buck) out of this beautiful cognac color. I’ve found that cognac looks great with regular denim (all color washes), with black denim, with white denim, and with gray denim. #cognacforthewin These have a 3-inch block heel, a pointy toe, and a bit of a western vibe. For size reference, I sized up a 1/2 in these.
These booties come up higher over my ankle than any of my other booties. And as you can see, these jeans fall over the top of the booties. I think it’s a fun look.
AND GET THIS! THE BOOTIES ARE ON SALE! They’re $40 OFF, y’all!
Let’s take another second for this sweater.
I love it so much.
For Outfit #2, I’m featuring this bright cobalt blue sweater! EVERYTHING else in the outfit is exactly the same, I just switched out the sweaters (and the bag).
First of all, the sweater is a GORGEOUS cobalt blue. Secondly, IT’S ON SALE! It just went on Holiday Deal and it’s 40% OFF!
In addition to this blue, it also comes in a beautiful holiday red, a stunning Kelly green, and a lovely antique white. And all 4 colors are on sale. The exaggerated and fitted cuffs, the pleated shoulders, and the banded hem at the waist are all such great details. They make the fit of the sweater so unique! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Look at these sleeves! They are dramatic, but somehow the sweater manages to still just be beautifully classic.
I’ve been wearing and showing this bracelet for about a year now. Get it. You’ll thank me later.
Here’s another look at the jeans.
The bag is a slouchy leather that can be worn either over the shoulder or cross body, and it comes in 11 total colors! It’s a great everyday bag. It’s lightweight when empty, the leather is super soft, and it holds a ton! The bag is very roomy and the internal compartments make it easy to find things.
I showed y’all this jacket last month with grey jeans and a grey sweater (click HERE to see the outfit) and this month you get to see it with a cream sweater and regular blue jeans.
The multicolor earrings are so much fun, and as you can see by today’s post, they go with pretty much everything. They are so so pretty in person with really vibrant colors.
Are you dying over this jacket? Because you probably should be.
It’s a gorgeous wine color and it’s got some stretch in it (which I think is always necessary in a great jacket). It’s not bulky at all, but the material does have some weight to it, so it will be awesome all the way into late fall. True to size for me, I’m wearing a medium.
I mean, come on. This is a cute outfit. 😉
The first 3 outfits today showed the cognac booties with straight leg mom jeans, but now you are going to get to see them with skinny jeans! Since skinny jeans don’t go over the top of the boots, they are a bit trickier to style with booties.
So if you are wearing skinny jeans with these booties, you need to make sure the jeans hit you at the right part of your ankle. These jeans are actually a little too long, so you can see that I turned them up and under, but still left the original hem exposed.
This sweater is ONLY $39 and you have 7 colors to choose from. I went with the “pink gale marl”, but in person I would describe it as a lilac. It’s incredibly soft. I like the simple lines and the classic look. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
And I thought the leopard belt added some interest.
In outfit #5, everything is the same as outfit #4, except for the sweater! And the sweater is ON SALE!
This cozy waffle sweater henley comes in 4 colors, but this rust color pretty much screams fall. It’s a thick waffle knit (more like a sweater than a typical waffle knit), so It’s a great base layer to help keep you warm. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I’d normally wear this with straight leg jeans or something similar (since the top is fitted), but I actually liked the two fitted items together, and I think they looked great with the leopard belt.
These skinny ankle jeans are from Wit and Wisdom, which y’all know has been my favorite denim brand for years and years. You just can’t beat the fit, and the Ab Solution technology is quite literally life changing. When a pair of jeans can be stretchy, comfy, and flattering as all get out – SIGN. ME. UP. The power mesh panels mold and hold you. They suck you in, but they still allow you to breathe. It’s a thing of wonder, y’all. I’m wearing my regular size 4. With Wit and Wisdom, definitely size down if between sizes.
That’s a wrap, y’alll! Which outfit was your favorite with the booties?
GREAT WITH GREY JEANS
And let’s not forget, the cognac booties are great with grey jeans! Sadly, these exact jeans are no longer available, but I still wanted you to see them styled with grey.
TALL COGNAC BOOTS
And just because….
Even though today was all about cognac booties, let’s not forget the tall cognac boots of my dreams.
Click HERE for the original post to get all my thoughts and all the sizing information on all of the outfits you see below! I do have links for the outfits right below the collage.
So I’m curious, do you own a pair of short cognac booties? What about tall cognac bootis? If you could only choose 1 pair, what would you pick for your own closet? Sound off in the comments!
