Today’s post is not what I originally planned, but I’m excited about the new direction!
Two things happened that made me need/want to change course:
One, I was supposed to finish writing my Nordstrom denim post yesterday, but instead I spent ALLLLLLLLLL day long cleaning out my closet. Chris and Carter were out of town all weekend, so I had planned on getting tons done around the house when they were gone. Cleaning out my closet was at the top of the list, so I made plans with my mom that she would come grab all of the clothes I was getting rid of (we do this about twice a year) on Sunday at 4:00. I got up on Sunday morning thinking it would take me about 2 hours to finish, but it took much longer than anticipated. Much MUCH longer.
Two, I found tons of great sales happening today, and I really wanted to talk about all of the deals I was finding.
Let’s get down to business…
1) Tory Burch tote / 2) Wit and Wisdom jeans / 3) striped top/ 4) green pullover / 5) Adidas sneakers / 6) T3 curling iron set / 7) UGG star robe / 8) Face Oil #9 / 9) star huggie earrings / 10) leopard slippers / 11) Peter Thomas Roth mask set / 12) True and Co. bra / 13) Zella 7/8 leggings / 14) Age Renewal Super Serum
1) Tory Burch tote / I think this is a beautiful tote. I absolutely love the color, and it has near perfect reviews. It’s a total classic and will serve you well for years and years. And while we’re talking about Tory Burch, her super popular Cloud sandals are on sale too! Find all things TB on sale HERE.
2) Wit and Wisdom jeans / Wit and Wisdom is my usual GO TO brand for denim, and this pair is on sale!
3) striped top/ I love wearing lightweight sweaters in the spring and even the summer. This one is DARLING.
4) green pullover / My favorite color green with a fun collar? Yes, please!
5) Adidas sneakers / These sneakers are 50% OFF! I love this blush and copper combo and think they are perfect for spring!
6) T3 curling iron set / If you’ve ever wanted to invest in a T3 iron, now is the time!
7) UGG star robe / The plush fleece robe is adorable with the stars, it has near perfect reviews, and it’s a great deal at 40% OFF.
8) Face Oil #9 / I’ve talked to you ladies so many times about my love for this face oil. I apply it each night with my moisturizer as the last step in my nighttime routine (after my serums). You can always use the code STMT20 for 20% all year long, but today is actually the last day of their customer appreciation sale. If you buy more than just the serum, you can use the code HAPPY25 for $25 OFF a $100 purchase or HAPPY50 for $50 OFF a $200 purchase.
9) star huggie earrings / Huggie earrings are my favorite types of earrings to wear, and I love the turquoise stars on these! They also come in ivory.
10) leopard slippers / These leopard slippers are super cute, soft, totally plush, and just under $20! If leopard isn’t your thing, they come in other colors too.
11) Peter Thomas Roth mask set / A five-piece set with best-selling masks for every skin concern, including a full-size Water Drench® Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer. The set also has the cucumber eye patches, and y’all know I love the Peter Thomas Roth eye patches. This set is a $215 value, the set is normally priced at $75, and right now it’s $56.25! You can find all things beauty at Nordstrom on sale HERE.
12) True and Co. bra / This bra has a cult following. Great bra, great price!
13) Zella 7/8 leggings / I don’t wear leggings that aren’t high waist leggings because I want maximum tummy control, and these are some of my favorites. They come in several lengths, and the 7/8 length is the perfect ankle length on me (I’m 5’4″ with long legs for my height). I don’t have this color, but I do own them in several colors. There’s actually a ton of Zella included in the Nordstrom Sale HERE.
14) Age Renewal Super Serum / Last week I told y’all about how my mom had called me and left a long voicemail singing the praises of her new favorite Colleen Rothschild product, the Age Renewal Super Serum. (I’m telling you, it’s not unusual for her voicemails to be like 2 minutes long. The woman has a lot to say. Haha!) This time she said, “Sheaffer, just calling to tell you that I used the age renewal super serum for the first time last night, AND SHUT THE FRONT DOOR.” She was passionate about it, y’all. She had purchased the super serum during the last site wide side, she used it once, and the results knocked her socks off. She absolutely swears that her deep smile lines were significantly reduced AFTER THE FIRST USE. I of course ordered immediately after her glowing recommendation, and I’ve started using it as well. I don’t have a real problem with wrinkles right now, but I’m hoping this miracle product keeps me from developing them! Remember, you can use the code STMT20 for 20% OFF on the serum (or anything else you need from the site). Of you can take advantage of the Customer Appreciation Sale that ends today and use the code HAPPY25 for 25% OFF your $100 purchase or $50 OFF your $200 purchase.
This was my mom last night after she loaded up her car with all my clothes. Isn’t she the cutest! The car was packed full. She keeps tons of clothes for herself, she shares a lot with one of her friends who wears our size also, and then she takes the extras to either her church or the Genesis Women’s Shelter. I’m so mad that I didn’t ask her to talk about the serum on stories when she was here, because she was showing me her smiles lines last night and going on and on about how it is making such a difference for her!
And seriously, how cute is she.
That’s all for today, y’all!
Hope you found a great deal that caught your eye and you made it yours!
Go ahead and come back here TOMORROW because I’m going to post the Nordstrom denim post. WooHoo!

How stinkin’ cute is your mom?! I mean…she’s so adorable!

Sheaffer, we are gonna need your mom’s outfit details! Love!

Hi, Dawn! Isn’t she the cutest! I’ll ask her, but I think it’s all old. I know the shoes are old because she bought them when I had them. That exact pair isn’t available anymore, but they are Dolce Vita if you want to search for similar ones. xoxo

Your mom is adorable!!! I love that she is taking some of your excess and putting it to good use. Sheaffer, I love your blog, but the amount your mom is taking away is eye opening to me. It is just all so, so overwhelming. Do you ever wonder how much you are buying and then donating so very shortly afterwards? I have pieces that have lived in my closet for years. I love your style and suggestions, but this picture made me do a hard reset. Do I really need all of this stuff???? I know it’s your job, but wow that is just so much consumption. I guess as a long time follower, I would appreciate how you spread the wealth. Is it a one and done…so many on repeats don’t make sense with the pic provided.
Thanks in advance. I know you are genuine, but my funds are not flowing like yours and guess I am jealous, if I am being honest. Just miss the old Sheaffer that really wore clothes on repeat. Thanks for understanding.

Hi, Andrea! Well, we just had a quick hailstorm here at 3:30 a.m., so here I am awake, replying to your comment at 3:55 a.m. 🙂 I’m confused with some of your comments and/or questions, but I’m going to do my best to answer what I can. You can of course ask follow-up questions if you don’t think a question has been answered after reading my response. Also, I’m not sure this is going to publish in paragraph form, so I’m afraid my response is going to just look like 1 long stream of consciousness, so I hope you are able to follow it. Oh, one more thing, tone is often hard to impart in writing, so please know that at no time is my tone snarky. I’m sure some others shared your thoughts when they saw my mom’s car loaded up, so I truly want to do my best to answer your questions. I hope by doing so I’m able to make you feel more comfortable with all of the stuff. I have a lot to say, but my first response is that no, you of course don’t need all of this stuff! I’m the first to say that I have WAY TOO MUCH stuff, and I would never recommend that anybody buy even 1/4 of the stuff that I do! You mentioned in your comment that this is my job, and please know that is the only reason I shop as much as I do. I don’t know if you follow me on instastories, but I did some behind the scenes videos last week of what it looks like for me as I’m building a post. For example, later this week I have a spring outfits post, and I knew I wanted to highlight some new denim. I wanted to be able to highlight 2-3 pairs of jeans, so I ordered 9 pairs hoping I’d find a couple pairs I liked. I immediately returned the 6 pair I chose not to highlight, but I ended up finding 3 pair that are going to be in the post. Would a person who isn’t a blogger buy 3 pairs of jeans at a time? Heck no! But my job is to give my readers options, and I actually take this job very seriously. I get so many comments from busy ladies and mamas saying that my blog is such a time saver for them. I love that people trust my opinions (that trust is EVERYTHING), and that my work saves people time on their end. That makes me really happy! Another example is that I have purchased several denim jackets and several military jackets over the years. Now, if I wasn’t a blogger, it’s possible I wouldn’t have purchased more than 1 denim jacket over the last 5 years. However, as a blogger, I’ve purchased SEVERAL and will tell you why. If I wear an old denim jacket in a post that is no longer linkable and just link similar jackets, I have frustrated readers because they don’t know if I’m truly recommending a jacket. People don’t come to me for me to tell them that I think I denim jacket I see online is cute, they want a personal review! There are tons of jackets I would like online and think they are cute, but it might be a different story if I ordered them and tried them on. Even if I have a denim jacket in my closet that I LOVE, I find myself buying a new one every season. I know I’m going to be wearing a denim jacket in TONS of spring posts, and I know I need a new one to link that I can fully recommend. If you have a denim jacket you love, does that mean you need the new one I’m featuring? Of course not! But I want to be able to give readers that don’t have a denim jacket in their closet a link to one that is currently available that I can personally recommend. If a reader does already have a denim jacket, then I hope a post with another denim jacket is just giving them styling ideas for the jacket they already have! Another point I want to make is that you mentioned my mom “taking some of my excess and putting it to good use.” I loved that you said that, because she really truly does “put it to good use”. Not only does she wear and love a lot of the clothes herself, but her friend I mentioned that she shares them with does as well. That friend is a preschool teacher, and she told my mom that she very rarely buys new clothes anymore and that she’s so grateful for everything that is passed on to her! I also want to mention here that in this haul, I even passed along several gently worn (or never worn) bras. Some more behind the scenes here is that sometimes when I’ve ordered bras for sponsored bra posts that I’ve done, I’ve wanted certain colors to highlight in flat lays. For example, I passed along a bra this weekend that was a deep wine color. I wanted it for a picture on the blog, but I’ve found that I pretty much only wear nude bras. When my mom saw the bras we were putting in her car, she mentioned that last time she donated some bras to the Genesis Women’s Shelter (a shelter that gives women escaping domestic abuse a safe space), and they were very happy to receive them. Another response to how I “spread the wealth” is that I give a lot of shoes to one of my close friends because she is one of the only people I know that wears my same size (a 6 1/2). She’s a teacher, her husband is a fireman, and she is always super excited to receive the shoes! She has told me that she shares the shoes she doesn’t need with other teachers and office workers at her school and they are always SO PUMPED! 🙂 So yes, there is an enormous amount of excess that comes through my doors, but I truly feel like none of it is going to waist. I’m very intentional in passing all of my gently used clothes along. To your next point point, you said “you miss the old Sheaffer that really wore clothes on repeat”. I touched on this a little bit earlier in my response, but it is a fine line I walk. Let’s use the denim jacket again. I bought a new denim jacket this season, and I’m actually really excited about it because it’s a bit of a different style than I’ve owned or featured in the past. It’s a more relaxed fit and it’s longer, so I actually wanted to add this one to my closet. However, I remember last year I didn’t necessarily want the new denim jacket I bought, but I wanted to have a new (and currently available) jacket to be able to put in all of my upcoming posts where I knew I would need one to style my outfits. AND I wanted to be able to personally recommend it (and not just point people to one I’d seen online). Expanding my answer on excess even further, a couple of years ago I bought a denim jacket from Amazon. I didn’t need another denim jacket at that time, but I wanted to be able to feature and personally recommend one at a lower price point (the one I had was $70 something dollars and the Amazon one was right at $40). When I bought that one, I actually gave 2 of my old ones away to 2 of my neighbor friends, and they were happy to receive them! I’m going to address 2 more of your points right now, and then I’m going to try to wrap this up.:) You mentioned you missed the old Sheaffer that wore clothes on repeat. I still wear clothes on repeat and will continue to! I actually feel like this is something I do really well. You’ve probably seen the Amazon jacket I just mentioned no less than 20 times on the blog, and I also do a series call “Style It Again, Sheaffer” where I take something you’ve seen previously and give you new ways to style it. I have a Style It Again post scheduled in the next couple of weeks where I take camo pants from last year (that they brought back this year!) and I’m going to show you several outfits with those pants! Okay, landing the plane here and really trying to wrap things up….:) You mentioned being jealous, and this is not a feeling I ever want a reader to experience. I truly never want to foster that feeling in others. There is NO WAY a regular person that isn’t running a blog as a business needs to shop even a fraction as much as I do. I don’t start each post with a disclaimer saying “now remember, you might not need any of this”, but that is actually how I feel! At the end of the day, I want the blog to serve as a real resource to people. You know, I actually used to think that this blog was a destination for a person who loves to shop…but what I learned very early on is that it is a much more valuable resource to ladies who hate shopping (don’t have the time or the desire to go to the mall or spend hours browsing online). Okay, WHEW! That was a lot! If you are still reading, pat yourself on the back. And again, if there’s a question you don’t feel I addressed adequately, please let me know! You said in your comment that seeing my mom’s car was really eye opening to you. I really hope that I was able to shed some light on the reason behind all of the excess and what happens to all of the stuff after I’m done with it. I also hope that I encouraged you not to feel jealous of any of this. Not only does nobody need this much stuff, but it can actually be quite overwhelming at times! All of this stuff is nothing to aspire to, I promise! Thanks for your time, Andrea! xoxo

Your mom is definitely so cute! And stylish like her daughter ? I grabbed 2 pair of the star earrings-one as a birthday gift for my mom and one for me that I used a gift card for. Thanks for the idea!
