TEN Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Questions, ANSWERED!

Well, ladies.  We made it through the first several days of the sale.  There were definitely some technical difficulties (everybody wanted ALL THE THINGS!), but we did it!

There are tons of you that either went shopping in store or already placed orders and have had them arrive.  And my goodness are y’all happy!  I have received literally hundreds of messages since Thursday from people that are THRILLED with their scores.  I mean, the technology failed us a bit this year, BUT THE CLOTHES AND THE SHOES?  They brought their A Game.  I’m telling you, the clothes and shoes made everything WORTH IT.

I’ve received lots of questions from y’all over the past several days, so I thought today would be a perfect time to do an NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE Q+A post.

I’ll answer 10 today, so let’s get started!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Q+A

QUESTION #1:  

I got about 100 versions of the following question:

I’m so disappointed that ________ already sold out.  Do you know if it will be restocked before non cardholders can shop?

This was without a doubt the #1 question I received over and over again the last several days.  Sadly, I have no idea what will or what will not be restocked.

Please know that I will be stalking the site for restocks.  I also want to recommend that you do the same.  If you have an item that you are dying for, be vigilant about checking.  Even if a product is not restocked, returns will start popping up on the site very soon.  So, for instance, if you see an x-small/small blardigan pop up on the site, GRAB IT IMMEDIATELY.  It might not be a restock, it might literally be 1 return that has been logged into the system, so scoop it up FAST!

QUESTION #2:

I’m not a cardholder, but I’ve got $500 to spend  once everybody can shop!  I’m loving all your posts, but I’m having the hardest time deciding what to get.  I’m a stay at home mom with two little ones under 3, so it’s a lot of time on the floor and running around town with them.   I really just want to get a ton of basics that can kind of be a capsule wardrobe for fall and winter.  What do you recommend?

QUESTION #3:

Did you have any splurge purchases this year?  

I haven’t made a splurge purchase yet, but I was seriously considering one.  I’ve wanted a Michele watch for years, and I thought the one below was gorgeous, but it sold out before I committed.  There are still some available HERE.  I mean, I’ve wanted one for years, but I’m not sure if I’ll ever get up the courage. If you are in the market for a new watch but don’t want to pay a ton, I’m loving this two toned option for UNDER $150!

Make sure you notice the two blingy bracelets in the picture. Those are Anniversary Sale purchases, and I can’t believe it, but they are still in stock!  I got them for myself, and they are seriously gorgeous.  I also ordered this necklace from the same brand and can’t wait till it arrives!

I’ve also had my eye on this Bony Levy ring.  I love how delicate the Bony Levy pieces are, and I’ve been collecting some stacking rings over the last several years.  I got one for Christmas two separate years, and I bought one for myself one day when I saw it went 60% OFF.  I scooped it up and didn’t even think twice!  They are definitely a splurge, but the quality is excellent (the pave diamonds in this ring are G in color and VS in quality), and I feel like I’m getting an amazing deal when I grab a piece on sale.

QUESTION #4:

I seem to recall you have a favorite pair of pajamas.  Are they available in the sale?

I’m not sure which pajamas you are talking about because I have several brands that I like (J Crew, Target, and Soma all come to mind), but this year I was introduced to the Nordstrom brand! And ohemgee.  They are good.

I hear that some size down, but I’m wearing a small here and definitely wouldn’t have wanted to go any smaller in the top (although I could have gone smaller in the bottoms).  They are incredibly soft and flattering.  And don’t forget CUTE!

And look how cute these are!  I wouldn’t wear this set as pajamas (I would likely have a heat stroke), but I would definitely wear it when lounging around the house.  I sized up to a medium in the hoodie, and I’m wearing my regular small in the pants.  This set is sooooooooo warm and cozy!

QUESTION #5:

Do you wear your blardigan out of the house? I’m a new reader and I thought a blardigan was just for lounging around the house, but then I heard you say something on an Instagram story about wearing it out of the house and you were wearing it with jeans and sneakers.  Do you really wear it out of the house?

Another great question!  I DEFINITELY wear my blardigans out of the house.  I most often wear them casually with jeans and sneakers or leggings and UGGs.

QUESTION #6:

I’ve been a follower for years and years.  I remember you talking about some boot cut jeans a couple of years ago, but I wasn’t ready to jump on the boot cut trend just yet.  Now I am (I’m always a little behind) and I noticed there are several options in the sale!  Which ones do you recommend?

A couple of jeans I initially recommended are already either sold out or already only have very limited sizes remaining.  The pair I initially recommended that are still holding stock are the ankle Wit and Wisdom jeans that are ONLY $44.90!  They are seen in all 3 pics below.  I wanted to make sure I could show a little ankle when wearing them with sneakers, flats, and booties….so I decided to go with the petite length.  I’m wearing a 4P.  I think the jeans look great with all 3 different shoes and all 3 different tops/jackets!  They are a really great pair of jeans.

Wit and Wisdom Itty Bitty Boot Cut Jeans

These have been a favorite of mine going on three years now.  Here’s what I love most about these jeans:  I truly feel like they make me look 2 inches taller and 10 pounds thinner.  Um, YES PLEASE.  I pulled an old pic, and if you are on the fence, you are going to need to TRUST ME on these.  They are so good.

I’m wearing a 4 Regular in these boot cut jeans. I’m almost 5’4″, wearing a heeled bootie, and they are the perfect length for me.  I think the picture on the site makes these jeans look terrible.  It seems that the very tall model is wearing a petite, and man is it all wrong.

These jeans are truly awesome.  And get ready, girls!  Based upon a conversation I had with a follower over the weekend on instagram, my entire post next Friday is going to be outfits with just different Wit and Wisdom jeans!

I also got this pair from Articles of Society.  They are awesome too, and they will definitely be in future outfit pics.  They are very affordable at $41.90.  They are long on me, so I definitely have to give them a wide cuff if I’m going to wear them with ankle booties.  They are super skinny, but also super stretchy and comfy.  I’ll wear them cuffed with booties, flats, and sneakers….and I’ll tuck them in with tall boots.

QUESTION #7:

I’m all for great basics and I love neutrals, but I’m needing some options with color in my fall and winter closet.  Anything in the sale that caught your eye?  I was looking at this colorful striped sweater, did you see it?

I haven’t seen that sweater in person, but I do have a couple of colorful items I can share with you!  Like this fun ruffle neck sweater!  I’m wearing a small, so it’s true to size.

There’s definitely an abundance of cardigans to choose from in this year’s sale, but the one I featured last week was available in only soft colors.  This cardi is very similar, and I love this vibrant color (called “pink cedar”).  It’s very similar to the other cardi I featured (that is almost sold out), and this one seems to be very well stocked.  For now, anyway.

There are lots of beauty tools that I’m interested in that are included in the sale, and they seem like a great price, but I don’t know where to start.  Any advice?

Question #10:  

Do you only wear Zella work out gear?  Any thoughts on other athliesure brands in the sale?

There are a lot of great work out brands in the sale, but I’ve been loyal to Zella for awhile now.  I know I already showed y’all and talked about the grey cropped leggings, but the Live In Leggings are NECESSARY. I already have 2 pairs, so I didn’t need a new pair, but they are awesome.  Also, my no show socks are ON SALE and the socks I wear for working out are too!

And while we’re talking about Zella, look at these awesome joggers!  For size reference, I’m wearing a small in both the joggers and the sweatshirt.
