So, today is Part II with Nordstrom, where my only guideline for topics was to talk about things that excite me. (If you missed Part 1, you need to go check it out ASAP…but only if you like to wear jeans that make you look super skinny.) 🙂
Well, besides jeans that make you look super skinny, pretty much nothing excites me more than CROSSING THINGS OFF OF A LIST. Yep, I’m one of those people that if I do something that wasn’t even on my list, you can bet that I will write it on the list just so I can cross it off. I know, it’s a sickness. BUT IT’S JUST THE BEST FEELING EVER. So today, I’m going to help you cross some lines off of your Christmas lists! Yes, I know it’s August, but think how good this is going to feel.
I trust that if you don’t already have a Christmas list written out (of course you don’t), you’ll go ahead and scribble one out right now SO YOU CAN HAVE THE GLORIOUS TASK OF CROSSING THINGS OFF. One more thing before we get started. And this is important. If there’s something you really want here, but can’t justify it for yourself right now, I have a plan for you. Buy it, put the gift away in a closet, and then tell your hubby you’ve already helped him out with Christmas. You’ll be happy (because you will be getting something that you actually want!), and he will be THRILLED (because it will be one less gift he has to think about and buy). It’s like a gift for both of you really. #icanjustifyanything #merrychristmastoall
This year I thought it would be helpful to divide my suggestions into categories based upon the types of people you might be buying for. I hope my gift guide is useful! Cheers to crossing things off lists!!!!! 🙂
ALSO, please remember that the Anniversary Sale prices go up after the weekend, so now is your final chance to stock up on the fall items for yourself as well! After the Santa Alerts, I will be highlighting some of my favorites from the sale THAT ARE STILL IN STOCK. And I will also announce the instagram contest winner for the $250 Nordstrom gift card!
**********FOR THE FASHIONISTA**********
If you have a person on your list that is in to fashion, I have some items that she would love! Now, lots of the clothes in the sale are sold out, but some that are still available and are true to size are THE MUST HAVE SHIRT, the Splendid poncho (it’s sooo soft!), the MUST HAVE leggings, and these fun Zella leggings. Below you will also find that I included my favorite jewelry that’s still available. And Hunter Boots are a SUPER FUN gift to give and/or receive. I got my red knee high Hunters for Christmas 2 years ago, and I was sooooo excited to open them!
All Hunter Boots available in the sale HERE. But this cheery red pair spoke to me! I ADORE my red pair. I have a light grey pair as well (they were the first pair I got because I went with a “safe” color), but my red ones are what I reach for again and again. Click HERE for the boots.
THESE EARRINGS are in my personal Top 5 favorite items from the sale, and I really can’t think of one lady in my life that wouldn’t love them. I went with the brown mother of pearl earrings for myself, which are just a gorgeous golden color! I had planned on getting them for my mom for Christmas, but when she couldn’t stop complimenting me on them when she saw me last week, I went ahead and got her a pair…and gave them to her. I just couldn’t make her wait for them! ???? These make a great Christmas gift that won’t break the bank!
earrings / lipstick (fashion icon) / lip gloss (sweet dreams)
THESE earrings are the ultimate stocking stuffer. At only $20.80, they also make great gifts for teachers at the beginning of school or for Christmas! Click HERE For the earrings. The multi are my favorite.
A watch is always a really great gift to give. I really love the large face of this watch coupled with the skinny band. I also love how the watch face is set on top of the leather, which makes it stand up high. And the bracelet is gorgeous and can be layered easily or worn on it’s own!
watch / bracelet (find matching necklace HERE)
And THIS is the watch I ended up going with for myself. Try as I might to not buy a watch during the sale, I was not successful. #oops
watch / gold bracelet / shoreline converse
You can of course also click HERE if you want to search other women’s clothing items still available in the sale. Some of the items above can also be found here:
**********FOR THE HOMEBODY**********
Maybe there is somebody on your list that just loves being at home with their family…and loves being cozy when they are there! That’s TOTALLY me. I enjoy a fun dinner and night out with friends, but I also LOVE coming home, throwing on my pj’s, and cozying up with my people.
Click HERE for this darling little sleep shirt (it comes in 3 additional patterns as well)! It’s ONLY $29.90! I normally wear a small in things like this; however, the sizing on this says a medium is a 4-6, so I went with a medium. It was perfect! You can see all available pj’s for women in the Anniversary Sale HERE! (Full Disclosure: There was one day last week when I put this on at 4:30!) 🙂
Click HERE for all blardigans in the sale. It’s slim pickins for sizes on remaining blardigans…but there are a select few original blardigans, some baby blardigans, and some in plus size as well. Thanks again to April for the picture! They are the perfect gift for ALL the ladies on your list. Hopefully you snagged one before they were picked over.
THIS travel shawl from Barefoot Dreams is still available. Does anybody have it? I think it looks great, I’ve just never seen one in person! It has FANTASTIC reviews, and I love both colors!
Click HERE for all Barefoot Dreams Blankets! The blankets are actually wonderful presents for the entire family. I can guarantee your hubby and kids will cuddle up under them. Also great for grandparents! This is a gift for everybody. THIS leopard one is so fun!
I’ve never tried them, but I’ve had several readers this year comment on THESE sheets. They have stellar reviews online, and we need a pair of new sheets, so I’m thinking I’m going to try them out!
**********FOR THE ENTERTAINER***********
Maybe you have somebody in your life that loves to have friends and family over and entertain! If so, I’ve got some awesome gift ideas for them. I saw both of these next 2 items in person at Northpark, and they are really great!
Click HERE for serving boards and holder. / Click HERE for the glass beverage dispenser.
Click HERE for these monogrammed mason jars. I mean, DARLING.
Click HERE for the oval stonewear. I love colored items like this for the kitchen.

**********FOR THE BEAUTY LOVER**********
Click HERE for this Jo Malone gift set. I named Jo Malone frangrances as a SHOULD HAVE BEEN A MUST HAVE back in April. I’d been hearing about these light fragrances for awhile (typical perfumes tend to make me nauseous or give me a headache), so I asked for one of these light scents for Christmas. And I fell in love. I’ve actually tried SEVERAL at the perfume counter over the last year, and I’ve loved them all. So I jumped at the chance to buy the gift set for myself this year during the sale! I love them all, but I think my favorite in the set is the Lime, Basil, and Madarin combo…and Chris’s favorite on me is the Wild Bluebell! I love switching it up everyday!
Click HERE for this MAC Look In A Box! It’s got great reviews, and I love the colors! Click HERE For all make-up in the Anniversary Sale.
I know that some of you are OBSESSED with Philosophy products or at least have somebody in your family that is obsessed. Click HERE for all Philosophy products available in the sale. Click HERE for the Amazing Grace set. Click HERE for the Purity/Hope in a Jar skin care trio.
The Clarisonic is something that I’ve been talking about for years now. I received one from my sister like 5 years ago after she had purchased one for herself and swore by it. And I’m telling you, this is a product that actually lives up to all the hype. It gently cleanses your skin 6x better than using your hands alone! It changed the texture of my skin, and it will change yours too!
Click HERE for all Clarisonic products included in the sale. Click HERE for this light pink beauty. If you think you’re guy would want one (or if you know your guy needs one because he keeps stealing yours), it comes in dark grey HERE.
If you’ve got a Beauty Lover to buy for, just click on what you are interested in:
**********FOR THE HARD TO BUY FOR**********
If you have a lady on your list that’s always hard to buy for, then I’ve got an easy gift for you. Because I don’t know anybody who doesn’t love their house to smell great. I love the candle, but the diffuser is absolutely amazing. My favorite is the red currant. I have the diffuser in the guest bath right now, and when we had neighbors down last weekend, the 3 year old little girl (Shout Out, Isla!) even commented on how great it smelled! 🙂
Click HERE for the candle. Click HERE for the diffuser.
**********FOR THE GUYS***********
You can of course check HERE for all men’s items in the sale…but I found these fun items that I think would be a hit with most guys!
monogramed bottle opener/ moscow mule cups / monogrammed travel bag /
For the guys and the hard to buy for:
That’s it for the Santa Alerts…if you have something you’ve bought from the sale for gifts that I didn’t mention, please leave a comment below!
Now, since it’s the last weekend of the sale, I thought it would also be helpful for me to highlight items I love that are still available! Because if you are like me, PANIC MODE IS SETTING IN because I don’t want to miss any deals! 😉
If you didn’t see my post on Monday, you need to click HERE really quickly to learn about the Wit and Wisdom jeans with the “ab-solution” technology. You can see me in the black skinny jeans, but all of the jeans in this collage have the technology! I truly think these jeans are THE BEST KEPT SECRET in the Anniversary Sale. Click HERE for the facebook post where lots of readers profess their love for these jeans!
black skinny jeans / dark denim / medium denim / grey jeans / black boot cut / dark denim boot cut
Y’all saw this collage before, and the items are still in stock!!!!! This is very surprising because they are all very popular items!
Paige jeans /must have shirt / tandem bootie / ugg boots / frye boots / earrings / watch /
And here’s a review of items you’ve seen me in that are still available!
I stumbled upon this peplum top online and took a chance on it. I LOVE IT. The little pleated peplum hem is so cute, and the neckline is also darling (see online pic to see it better). It’s gathered and pleated and just a really great look! It is a little sheer, so you will most likely want to wear a cami with it. Size References: I’m wearing a medium in the top (I sized up, because it said a small was a 2-4, and I am NEVER a size 2 top.)
peplum top / cami / Vigoss ankle jeans /necklace /suede over the knee boots / earrings(brown mother of pearl – but they just look golden!)
This striped sweater (that also comes in 5 solid colors and 2 other striped combos)! I’m wearing a small. I wanted it over-sized and not form fitting, so you might want to consider sizing down if you want a more fitted look. I really loved the monochromatic look with the grey jeans. It’s over $40, but not much over, at only $44.90.
And let’s notice the bag! It’s ONLY $35.90! It comes in black, cognac, and red. I have the drawstring drawn up in this picture, but it can also be loosened to make a larger, more rectangular tote!
striped sweater / bag / grey jeans / over the knee boots / fall tassel necklace
You saw this poncho on my first sale post day because I tried it on in store and fell in love. I first showed it with cuffed vigoss jeans and booties (which I liked), but I LOVE it with my grey skinnies (I’m wearing a 27 petite) and over the knee boots. Now, this sweater is pricey. But it’s sooooo soft, and I think it’s going to be very versatile. I wanted to try it on with my MUST HAVE LEGGINGS (also in the sale), but I couldn’t find them! Ahhhh! They are probably shoved in a drawer somewhere, but I feel pretty confident that the poncho is plenty long enough for leggings (as long as you don’t have a super long torso). I like it because it’s not boxy like a lot of ponchos out there. It drapes nicely, is very soft, and is actually very flattering! And if you notice, the light bag is brightening up the outfit again!
THIS sweater is one of those wardrobe basics that I think people will reach for again and again. I liked the deep forest green, but the camel and the grey also look great to me! For size reference, I’m wearing a small, so I think it’s true to size. I’m also wearing the Frye bag I spotted in the catalog, and it is STUNNING in person. The leather is such a rich deep color and is gorgeous. Sadly, it was a bit smaller than I was anticipating, and I was looking for a cross body with more room. Still, I know it will be a perfect fit for many of you!
If you’ve been reading the blog for awhile, you know that in January of 2015 I was introduced to Zella athletic gear. And now I’m obsessed. You can find all women’s Zella available in the sale HERE. I wear outfits like this all winter long when running around town and getting stuff done at the house. I love being comfy and cozy, but looking completely put together! Like I always do in Zella tops, I sized up to a medium. I’m wearing a small in the leggings. AND Y’ALL. You HAVE to pick up this 3 pack of socks! They are so soft, feel great on the foot (sounds weird, but I mean it), and the tab back is perfection.
Zella sweatshirt / Zella leggings / Zella socks / similar Nike shoes
Click HERE for the MUST HAVE leggings! I named them a MUST HAVE almost 3 years ago now, and I still believe they are! For size reference, I wear a small. I have the black and grey, and I seriously don’t know how I lived the last 28 years of my life (ahem) without them. Because I’m 29 (ahem). And if you don’t believe me that these leggings are a MUST HAVE, believe the 1,214 5 STAR REVIEWS. They aren’t see thru at all, they hold their shape, and the ultra wide waist band sucks you in (while still allowing you to breathe). If I had to choose one color, I would definitely choose the “graphite heather” (grey). I reach for them more often, and after several years of washing them, they still haven’t faded even one little bit! Oh, one more thing, at 5’4″ they are reallllllllllly long on me (several inches too long), which is good news for you tall girls! I only wear them with tall boots, so I just fold them up and it’s no problem. If you are not vertically blessed and want to wear them with flats, you’ll have to get them hemmed.
I got a pair of Frye boots from the Anniversary Sale 2 years ago, and I adore them. They are classic, very well made, and will stand the test of time (some readers tell me they’ve had theirs for 15+ years and still love them)! And I get tons of compliments on them each and every time I wear them, which is always fun. For size reference, I had difficulty getting my regular 6 1/2 on in this year’s Frye boots (pictured below). I couldn’t get my foot past the right angle of the heel, so I sized up 1/2 a size to the size 7. They went on VERY easily, but seemed a bit long (a little too much room after my toes) after I got them on. I did have several readers say that they stuck with their regular size and once they got them on they were so glad they did. Click HERE for the boots. I have on the slate.
OKAY, GIRLS. THIS IS IMPORTANT. If you haven’t taken the plunge and purchased THIS BRA and THESE UNDIES yet, DO IT NOW. Yes, this is me being EXTRA BOSSY today. I beg you. GET THEM NOW. And then write me a handwritten thank you note later.
THIS BRA has become an Anniversary Sale phenomenon. You ladies are crazy for it. In my opinion, there is no better bra. Click HERE for my facebook post I did last week if you want to see what some other readers have to say about the bra. For size reference, people are split. Some say they buy their regular size and it’s perfect. Others say they needed to size up a cup size.
Okay, ALMOST DONE!!!! If y’all remember, I had a contest going on over on instagram during the sale! Click HERE to see some of the things that other readers scored and then labeled with the hashtag #sheaffertoldmeto.
Here are a handful of items people highlighted that I thought you might want to see! Like THIS short sleeved v-neck Pleione top! Great for jeans and the office!
And THIS leather jacket. It’s like BUTTAH!
And THESE abalone Kendra Scott earrings are gorgeous. I love the abalone!
A huge thanks to everybody who entered! I had so much fun seeing what all of y’all were getting!

I bought 3 bardigans for gifts the day the sale started, and I just bought the Red Currant diffuser for myself. As a reward for getting a jump start on my Christmas shopping! I love it when my house smells great!

Sarah, I like the way you think. 🙂

Have a great day!
Sheaffer says
Thank you, Cassie! That is so nice! xoxo 🙂
Stephane Jennings says
I love your advice. I took a chance on the travel shaw, and it shipped yesterday. Fingers crossed. I have a baby blardigan, thinking I should size up because I was in between a medium and large. I thought wrong, so I have to return it ???? I have tried to order the medium about 12 times, and every time they cancel my order after a few hours. Then it’s back on the page, so I order it again. Only to have them cancel it again. Why???? The madness!!!!! So, I ordered a regular blardigan not on sale. Eeks!!! Have a great day ????
Narci says
Those monogram mason jars are pretty much the most adorable thing ever! Great picks, friend!
Christina says
This is a great round up! I’m ready for fall! Thanks for sharing my Kendra Scott earrings picture. I wear them daily, they go with everything and so light weight!!
Andi says
Jessica Marie is my eyebrow spirit animal.
p.s. QVC has a Barefoot Dreams Cardigan as a Today’s Special Value today for under $80.
Patrice says
A tip that actually worked with the Frye boots was to put a plastic grocery bag over your foot. Then your foot slips right past that angle and you tear away the plastic from the top. Once they are on, they fit true to size and I think they went on easier after doing this just a couple of times. Who would have thought? Well, Nordstrom did.. It is listed in the item notes!
Erin says
Thanks for the tip… I’ll head on over and get my daughter’s Hunter boots for Christmas now!
Kyley says
Eeek!! I just purchased the Clarisonic Mia. I’m excited and nervous all at the same time!! Nothing like Christmas in August. (better skin can’t wait ’til December 🙂
Rachel says
After almost a year of nursing I couldn’t wait to finally buy a real bra again! The girls needed some lift! I ordered the natori bra and love it! I’m normally a 36 DDD and actually had to size down to a 36DD. No complaints over here!
Kristin says
Ack! I bought 2 pairs of the jeans (dark and medium wash) and 1 pair is here with the other pair arriving Monday. They fit snug, like a jegging, so I need advice on stretch after wear. Should I have sized up to give me some breathing room or will they give a touch after they have been worn a couple hours? It’s like they are 1/2 size too small. Help!!!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kristin! Hmmmmm..hard to say. If they are uncomfortably tight right now, I would say to size up a size. If they are just super fitted, I would stick with them. Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Amy says
What an incredible post, my shopping cart may or may not have just doubled in price. I seriously enjoyed this post and the fact that I just bought several christmas gifts is a win-win. Thanks Scheaffer, always enjoy your posts.

VICKYL says
Great post! Question…..can you give the details on the booties in the pic with the sweater and Frye crossbody bag please? Thanks and TGIF!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Vicky! They are the Lucky perforated booties that sold out the first couple of days of the sale. 🙁 So sorry! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Erin says
Absolutely fantastic Friday post! A. You had me at monogrammed. Those mason jars are mine. B. I’m ordering 3 of the lush tops. Can you remind me what size you purchased please? C. I followed your link to the Hunter boots and saw the knee high Hunter boot socks are also in the sale so I think I’ll give them a try. D. I have my “safe pair” of Hunter boots and I’m going with your thought process and trying the red ones next. I bet they’ll end up worn more often than the safe pair. Thanks so much for all this effort during the Anniversay Sale!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Erin! I’m wearing a small in the lush top…however, I’m kind of wondering if I should have sized up to a medium. It looks fine from the front, but it’s pulling a little in the back. If you’re big busted, maybe size up. If you, you should be fine with your regular size! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Heather HS says
Sheaffer-
So I’m a huge Blardi lover (own three of the originals, one baby and one of the spring version). So OF COURSE when I saw the shawl (with Huge pockets!!) on sale I. HAD . TO. HAVE. IT! Now maybe it’s because I’m a shorty at 5′ but it just swolled and shortened me beyond belief. I wanted to keep it, I made a million excuses of how I’d lengthen myself, but let’s be real…mama ain’t gonna grow no mo!! So back it went???????????????? So maybe if you’re taller it might work. But on petites, no bueno ????
Courtney Wagoner says
Sheaffer – QVC has a Barefoot Dreams cardigan today as their TSV for for $79.99! It is a new style that I haven’t seen before and their are a lot of colors/sizes available. I looked through the site and they have a bunch of other things from the line too.
Happy shopping! 🙂
Karen says
I love your advice! I got that poncho too, and now I definitely need the grey jeans – your outfit looks amazing!! Oh, my Nordy card is crying in pain from so much use. 😉
Kris says
Love this and all your posts! Thanks!
Megan says
My mom had on one of the new Pleione short sleeve tops today and she looked darling!!! And you need to meet her!! Yall would be besties!! She is the world’s best at justifying purchases and talking people into buying stuff!! Here is her famous line- well if you use that $150 bag everyday it’s only about 40 cents a day to use. It’s so worth it. Or you need those $50 earrings if you wear them everyday it’s less than 10 cents a wear. Etc Etc repeat. Seriously. World’s best!!
Sheaffer says
I like your mom, Megan. I like her a lot. 🙂 xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
