October Top 12

Today’s post is one of my favorite posts each and every month. Today I’m going to share your Top 12 picks from October. Actually, today you get 13!

Not surprisingly, many of y’alls Top 13 picks are in my top picks for the month as well. All of the items I’m featuring today are items that I added to my own closet (or already owned), and because of that they are items that you will continue to see on the blog as long as they are in stock.

The picks that made this month’s top list are only from 2 places: Nordstrom and Amazon.

And for the first time EVER, FIVE of the items were on last month’s Top 12 list as well!

1) striped cardigan / This striped cardigan is absolutely charming and lovely. I love the stripes, I love the weave, I love the buttons, and I love the little scalloped details. I like how I’ve styled it here, but it’s also super cute on the site layered over a button up. It looks so preppy! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

2) MUST HAVE sweater / I never put the Top 12 picks in order, but the MUST HAVE sweater won top seller this month by an absolute landslide! Y’all are smart girls to scoop this baby up, especially when it’s on sale.

I love the way it looks, and I love the way it feels.

This sweater is super soft, it’s not itchy at all, it’s lightweight, and it has what I think is a perfect relaxed fit! It doesn’t hug your body at all, and it just drapes really nicely. It’s a little bit longer in the front than in the back, and it does have a loose band on the bottom, so you can wear it out or with a half-tuck and it looks great both ways (but y’all know I almost always go for the half-tuck).

It has a ribbed neckline, ribbed cuffs, a ribbed hem, and a little ribbed detail down the middle of the sweater. The ribbed detailing just gives it some nice interest and elevates it a bit. I would definitely suggest sizing down in this sweater. I’m almost always a medium in sweaters, and I’m wearing a small in this sweater. Even in the small, I still consider it quite roomy.

This is the “toasted” color, and I think it’s such a warm and lovely fall color; perfect for pumpkin patches and Thanksgiving day! It would also look great with cream or black denim too.

3) coin toggle necklace / When I grabbed this necklace on Amazon, I had no idea how much I would wear it and love it. It combines silver with gold, and it’s chunky… but not too chunky. It’s great on its own, but I also love it layered with this multicolor necklace.

4) crewneck sweater / This acid wash sweater is so soft, I love the color (brown topaz), and the relaxed fit is what my sweater dreams are made of. The sleeves bell out (but just a little bit), and the ribbed collar and cuffs add some nice style. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It also comes in a heathered black and a cream.

5) quarter zip pullover / I’m in love with this striped color combo for fall. In fact, you might remember that I showed you the same color combo in a cardigan a couple of weeks ago, and I loved it so much that I wanted to try this pullover sweater too. It’s soft, cozy, and a very relaxed fit. In fact, I’m wearing a medium, but I would prefer the fit of the small.

Now, I don’t need both the pullover and the cardigan in the same color combo, so I need to just decide which one I’m going to stick with. (I ended up sticking with this one!)

6) bow mules / These bow mules are absolutely DARLING. There are hundreds and hundreds of 5-star reviews, and I’m in total agreement. 5 STARS from me too! They’re comfy too and true to size. They also come in black, blush, navy, and a cream.

8) leopard Mary Janes / Let’s give a minute to these shoes, because WOW. First of all, if you don’t know, LEOPARD IS BACK IN A BIG WAY. Now if I’m going to be honest, it’s always been “in” for me. I think the pattern is totally chic and classic, and because of that I never stopped wearing it. But if you follow the trends closely, you know that now it’s officially back.

You know what else is trending? Mary Janes!

These leopard Mary Janes are undeniably fabulous. I absolutely love them. Very comfy, true to size, and I’m able to slip them off and on easily without having to undo the buckle. If you’re not a fan of the leopard, they come in 17 other colorways (some solids, some patterns).

9) faded black jeans / These washed black Wit and Wisdom jeans have added some needed dimension to my closet. They’re a heavier denim and have a bit more structure than most of my WW jeans, and I’m so excited to have them for fall. They’re good with booties, with flats, with mules, and with fashion sneakers. They hit at the ankle and they have a frayed hem. I actually wish they were shorter, so I’m thinking of cutting off a couple of extra inches myself.

10) wide leg jeans / If you’re an OG follower, then you know I’ve talked about Wit and Wisdom jeans forever. Furthermore, you know I’ve sung the praises of the itty bitty boot cut jeans like it was my job. These wide leg jeans are like the updated 2024 version of the regular ol’ boot cut jeans that we’ve been wearing for years. On my shorter frame, I think I still prefer the originals because I think they are more flattering, but these are definitely more hip. So if you are looking to update your boot cut jeans, these could be the pair you’re looking for. I’m wearing my regular size 4, but most people size down in this brand.

11) black pleated pants / The fact that I’m LOVING some pants from Wit and Wisdom should come as no surprise to any of you.

HOWEVER, these pants are pleated, so I was not expecting to love them at all. Because of the pleats, I didn’t think they were going to work on my body (since my tummy is my problem area). WELL, I was wrong! They are crazy comfy and quite flattering! They are a substantial ponte like fabric, but they’re a medium weight and not too heavy at all. They are crazy super soft and stretchy, but they keep their shape throughout the day. They’ve got a double bar and hook closure with a hidden button and a functional zipper, but I’m telling you, you can just pull these on if you want to! Yes, they have that much give. Most size down in these, but I’m wearing my regular size 4.

12) wide leg ankle jeans / These wide leg ankle jeans are new to me, and I think they are a lot of fun! A perfect mix of laid-back and casual-chic, these wide-leg jeans are made with soft stretch denim and Fab Ab front pockets that shape and smooth. I sized up to a 6 in these, but I wish I would have stuck with the 4 (so I would say they are true to size).

13) cuffed straight leg jeans / These jeans are different than any other jeans in my closet right now due to the exaggerated cuff. I love them. They also have the Ab Solution technology, and if you are new to the Ab Solution magic, these jeans suck you in and totally snatch in your waistline while still allowing you to breathe. It’s a thing of wonder really! 🙂 For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4. If between sizes, size down in this brand.

I have had some questions from readers on if the cuffs are stitched, and they’re not. So for you shorter gals that want to uncuff them, cut them, and then re-cuff them…. GO CRAZY! 😉
