Happy Thursday, everybody!
I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure if I’ve ever looked more forward to Friday in my life! This has been a week. Let’s be honest, it’s been a month a year, and I sure am ready for the more relaxed pace and the bit of down time that Thanksgiving break will bring. Sadly, it’s going to look quite a bit different for my family this year, but we are thankful for so much, and I’m ready to soak up some much needed family time with a very small group of loved ones.
I’ll tell you this, my face will be picture ready.
Because today’s post is ALL ABOUT BEAUTY!
I’ve been having so much fun talking about beauty on the blog over the last couple of months, and I’ve even got a few more beauty posts up my sleeve between now and January, but today is all about my current favorites from Nordstrom. You’ve heard me talk about some of today’s items before, but they are making another appearance today in my FAVORITES post. Only the tip of the top and cream of the crop made the cut for today. You will also see a couple of new products I recently found that I’m thrilled to share.
Just last month I did a Fall Beauty Refresh (did you see it?). It was a lot of fun, but I just focused on a small number of makeup items that were helping me get Fall ready.
Today is about my ride or die products from Nordstrom. We’re talking the products that I absolutely swear by.
Let’s go ahead and kick things off with my Riki makeup mirror. I purchased this bad boy back in August, and I’m only just now talking about because I recently noticed that it was BACK IN STOCK. It’s definitely expensive, but it’s also TOTALLY FANTASTIC. It boasts LED lights and provides a perfectly lit environment for doing your makeup ANYWHERE! It lives on my bathroom counter (it’s so much better than using my bathroom mirror to apply makeup), but I also travel with it because it’s light enough to throw in a suitcase. I love it, and I don’t even use it to it’s full potential.
Here’s the rundown…..
Five stages of dimming give you full control of the level you want to see, while the 5X magnifying mirror helps you get up close and personal with lashes and brows and for detail work, especially around the eyes. The ultra-lightweight device features a Bluetooth® selfie function, too. Simply place your phone into the included phone clip and mount it onto the mirror. Pair your phone with the mirror using Bluetooth connectivity, then press the camera button on the mirror with your thumb to take your pics. The legendary quality LED lights ensure perfect color for the lighting of photos. You can also use the mirror to hook up your phone and record or follow along with videos and tutorials. See details you’ve been missing.
Basically, it’s a blogger’s dream because of the lighting and cell phone attachment options…but you don’t have to be a blogger to love and adore this mirror.
This would make a wonderful luxury gift for any lady on your list!
Okay, time to break down exactly why I consider the products I’m sharing today my FAVORITES.
Let’s start with the face!
Last month when I did a sponsored post with It Cosmetics, I discovered some products that I now uses every single day. For example, I’m full blown OBSESSED with the CC Cream. After years and years of using tinted moisturizer mixed with my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, I tried the CC Cream only because of a collaboration I was doing with the brand, AND I FELL IN LOVE. Like HARD CORE love. Like never breaking up love. #alwaysandforeverlove
And to be honest, not only did I fall in love with it, but I started receiving compliments on my skin and makeup from my friends! They fell in love with it too, and some of them are now using it as well, which of course made me love it even more!

Let’s talk about the products from left to right…
***I’ve been using the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream for about a year and a half now, and y’all know I’m devoted to it. A couple of weekends ago I had a local girl’s weekend, and two of my friends bought this after using mine. IT’S AWESOME. This is one of the products I added into my routine last year after reading about it on several blogs and in several “BEST OF” beauty articles. Lots of users compared it to the much more expensive La Mer line, but said they preferred this product! That was it, I was convinced I needed to try it. Officially, it’s a cream that floods skin with moisture for a glowing complexion in a flash. A little goes a long way with this cream, and it’s not greasy, but it is incredibly hydrating. There is a very light rose scent to this cream, and I don’t normally care for rose, but it doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve been mixing this with my tinted moisturizer for my foundation, but now that I’m using the CC Cream, I just put a little of this on in the morning before applying the CC Cream. I use it at night as well before bed.
***The CC Cream is a new favorite that I just started using last month. I’d been hearing about it for years, and now I know why. IT’S TOTALLY LEGIT. And because I personally didn’t know for a lonnnnnnnnnng time, CC stands for “Color Correcting.” It makes so much sense now. Ha! It really does a beautiful job of evening out skin tone while covering up redness and discoloration. It’s actually the #1 CC Cream in America with over 20,000 5 STAR REVIEWS! It will provide you with:
- Lightweight, hydrating texture that won’t crease or crack
- Hydrating anti-aging serum that improves the look of your skin
- Physical sunscreen with up to SPF 50+—perfect for even sensitive skin
But here’s why I like it: It gives me FULL COVERAGE (which I have recently come to appreciate), but it doesn’t look cakey or like “too much”. I’m telling you, friends noticed that I was doing something different, and they complimented me on it. I feel like it gives me an even complexion AND a youthful glow. So yeah, I’m hard core hooked. #givemethatglow
***And two weeks ago I picked up this makeup brush in anticipation of this post. IT’S MY FAVORITE OF ALL MY NEW FAVORITES. It’s an investment for sure, but it’s wonderful. It applies the makeup onto my skin in a way that I’ve never seen before. It helps it go on sooo smoothly and sooo evenly. The application appears flawless, y’all. It’s FLIPPING MAGICAL.

Next up…
This little palette is fantastic, and Nordstrom put together a cute little brush set that includes both brushes below (+ 2 others and a great little bag).
Bronzer, Luminator, and Blush Palette / It Cosmetics Luxe Brush Set
***I truly love this palette. It’s so convenient to have the blush, highlighter, and bronzer all in 1 compact. The colors are so pretty and when working together they really create a nice soft glow. And at my age, I’m all about the glow. I mean, I know I keep talking about the glow, but it’s important!
***I got the brushes individually, but Nordstrom has them packaged together (with 2 more brushes and a bag) in this wonderful set FOR ONLY $69 I use the brush on the left to apply the blush and the highlighter, and I use the brush on the right to apply the bronzer.
Both the palette and the brush set would make great gifts!

The set is fabulous and so well priced.
Now let’s talk about the eyes.
Charlotte Tilbury Bigger Brighter Eyes / It Cosmetics Brush Set / Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick / Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil / Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes
***The Charlotte Tilbury Bigger Brighter Eyes is the newest addition to my makeup arsenal. I never use all of the eyeshadows in a palette, so I love that this is a small one with just a handful of choices (that I love). So far I’ve only used it by just choosing a color to cover my lid, but I’m excited to follow their application rules:
How to use: Apply the Prime color, a warm, eye-brightening hue, to the inner corners of the eyes to give the effect of broadening the whole eye area. Apply the Enlarge shade to lightly contour and give a lifting effect to the socket; it can be built up or washed across the eye lightly. Define with a universal hue that adds instant definition to the lashline and makes eyes look brighter. Then, apply Pop in targeted areas to widen and brighten eyes throughout the day.
***This brush also comes in the It Cosmetics Brush Set that includes the blush and bronzer brushes shown above.
***If you prefer a creamy eyeshadow, this Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick is for you! I wear the Dusty Mauve and absolutely love how it glides on so easily without leaving a harsh line.
***This Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil is another tip top favorite, more on it in a minute.
***While at the Nordstrom makeup counter a couple of months ago, I heard a beauty rep talking with a customer about the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes. She was RAVING about it. It was sold out at the time, but I made a mental note to pick it up when back in stock. Y’all know that I’ve never found a mascara that I LOVE…and I think I love this mascara.
Charlotte Tilbury Bigger Brighter Eyes / It Cosmetics Brush Set / Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick / Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil / Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes
I really can’t say enough great things about the Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil. WHY DIDN’T ANYBODY TELL ME I NEEDED TO BE FILLING IN MY BROWS? I have pretty substantial brows, so I thought I was good in the brow department, but I hadn’t realized they had started thinning. Filling them in makes such a difference! The tip on one side allows me to draw on little brush strokes that mimic hairs, and then the little brush on the other side allows me to shape my brows and soften the marks I draw.
*You can find my sweater HERE. Size WAY down! I’m wearing the XXS.

And don’t forget about the lashes that I found last month (if you want a bit more drama).
These Lashes look AMAZING and they are pretty dang user friendly. Per the instructions, I did cut a small section off of each row to make them fit my eyes better, and it worked! I’ve tried several different styles and brands of lashes, and I think that these are a pretty natural look, while still giving you long and pretty lashes. I didn’t want people to look at me and immediately know I was wearing fake lashes, and these really deliver. I’m using this glue now (different than the one I was originally using) and really like it. The tiny little brush allows for precise application, and it dries clear.
In the picture directly above, I’m using a combination of Gemz Roses Liquid Lipcolor as the base and Walk of No Shame Gloss on top for a glossy finish. See how my lips have a bronze/metallic flair? I think it’s so fun!
The lip combo below creates a really fun pinky red that’s great for holiday!
Ruby Woo red lipstick / Walk of No Shame Gloss
***Ruby Woo is a red lipstick that I found a couple of years ago when I was looking for a bright red lip color before July 4th. I was told that Ruby Woo was the best universal red they had, and it’s supposed to look great on all types of skin tones and with all different hair colors. It’s definitely a blue red, which is great, because I don’t love a red that leans orange.
***This Walk of No Shame Gloss is shiny, sparkly, and definitely festive. It is HIGH SHINE, and I love a high shine gloss.
Ruby Woo red lipstick / Walk of No Shame Gloss
Here I am in the above combination: Ruby Woo as the base and Walk of No Shame Gloss on top. See? It’s very holiday!
And 1 more lip combo with the same gloss: Capricious as the base and Walk of No Shame Gloss on top.
I’m wearing the Ruby Woo / Walk of Shame combo in the picture below as well, it just looks way more pink than red because of my sweater I think.
I’ve got one more product/tool that I want to review, but I’m going to leave it for next month’s beauty post after I’ve had some more time to practice with it. It’s definitely a luxury item (ringing in at $550! WHOAH!), but my goodness it’s fun.
So what is it? It’s the Dyson Airwrap!
Stay tuned for more next month…BUT LOOK AT THAT CURL!
So, I hope you enjoyed yet another beauty post, and I hope you are continuing to look forward to more in near future as well! All of these beauty campaigns are really challenging me to step out of my comfort zone to try new makeup and beauty products, AND I’M HAVE THE BEST TIME. Because of the collaborations, I’ve found some new to me products that I now absolutely swear by. I’m thankful to have been introduced to the products, and I’m beyond excited that I then get to pass them on to you!
A huge THANK YOU to Nordstrom and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post.
p.s. Everybody needs to know that my perfectly neutra sneakers just went 30% OFF!
They are a MUST HAVE! SERIOUSLY SO CUTE! $85 and worth EVERY DANG PENNY. NOW ONLY $59.50!
They are a PERFECT neutral and will look great with jeans, denim shorts, leggings, and all sorts of athleisure! Officially they are called “Clear Brown/Nude/White”, but let’s just stick with the perfect neutral. I really like that the accents lean a little gold, but they aren’t shiny or flashy AT ALL. Where is your pink sweater from?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Amy! I just went and added a link right above the picture where I’m using the brow pencil. It’s Chelsea28 from Nordstrom and I LOVE it. Size wayyyyyy down. I’m wearing an XXS. 🙂
Shelly says
Hi! I’m intrigued by the makeup brush… how do you use it? A video demo would be so helpful 😉
Sheaffer says
Hi, Shelly! I can make that happen! Look for a video later today on instastories! But you use it just like any other makeup brush. I dot the foundation on my face, and then I just use the brush to smooth it out all over my face! xoxo
Meagan Ruse says
That mirror is absolutely incredible! The lighting is fantastic and it just makes you automatically feel so beautiful! Love it!!
PJTMG says
We need a full make up video! I am so old, I don’t know how to use half of those brushes.
Sheaffer says
I’ve had several requests for this, I’ll record some insastory slides later today! xoxo

That Dyson hair wrap was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! So much fun!!!
Lorie says
What shade do you use on the CC cream? And thanks for the telling us what the “CC” stands for…I’ve always wondered that!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Lorie! Mine is “medium tan”! xoxo
Marla says
Would you be able to do a makeup application including using the brush on the blog for those of us who don’t have Instagram? Thanks
Sheaffer says
I’ll see if I can figure this out too, Marla! xoxo
Lauren Austin says
I’m so excited to finally know what “CC” means! Ha! I’ve been using a cc cream for years but never knew what it meant. Thank you for sharing that tidbit of info!
Sheaffer says
I felt the same way, Lauren! Once I heard it, I was like “Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Well, that makes sense!!!!” Haha! xoxo
Jeanie says
Just had to laugh. Ruby Woo turns neon pink on me! Such problems.
Sheaffer says
Neon pink? Whoah! So weird! But actually, it’s a lot more pink on me than I remember it being in the past. It used to be sooooo RED, and now I feel like it definitely leans pink. xoxo
April Thompson Parrish says
Just purchased the Bobbi brown creamy eyeshadow stick- your Instagram stories sold me in it. Thanks for all the helpful beauty tips!
Sheaffer says
You’ll love it, April!!!! xoxo

I have also recently started filling in my brows (I totally agree – who knew you were supposed to do that!) You must try IT cosmetics Brow Powder. It’s a game changer! I actually saw a video tutorial about it on QVC of all places and it’s legit stuff!
Sheaffer says
Definitely going to check it out! Thanks, Arika! xoxo
