Today’s post is ALL ABOUT BEAUTY! But don’t worry, it isn’t about overhauling your entire makeup routine. It’s simply about elevating your Fall makeup bag with 1 or 2 fun new products!
AND GREAT NEWS! Tons of beauty products are ON SALE right now at Nordstrom, and some are included in this post. (We all know that makeup rarely goes on sale, so when it does, it’s the perfect time to either try a new product or stock up on your favorites!)
So without further ado, I present to you, some new Fall beauty products!
MAC false lashes ON SALE (click HERE for some that are super similar with better stock) / Charlotte Tilbury Jewel Lip Gloss / MAC Matte Metallic Liquid Lipcolor ON SALE/ Blackberry and Bay Jo Malone scent ON SALE/ Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick ON SALE/ Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil ON SALE
I wasted no time and immediately started incorporating these products into my makeup routine.

First, I decided I wanted a new scent for Fall, so I headed to the Jo Malone counter at Nordstrom to test tons of different scent profiles.
Blackberry and Bay was the one I landed on. I’m not good at describing scents, so I’ll let the professionals do the talking: A burst of deep, tart blackberry juice, blends with the freshness of just-gathered bay and brambly woods. Vibrant and verdant. It’s LOVELY. And it feels very Fall to me. It feels crisp.

Now, before we get to my new items, let’s talk about a couple of old favorites.
Supergoop Glow Screen / Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream
These are truly ride or die products for me
I’ve only been using the Supergoop Glow Screen since this Summer, but I am already completed devoted to it. It’s a primer that has a beautiful tint to it with a glowy finish (but not too glowy or sparkly). I’ve been wearing it EVERY SINGLE day and will continue to do so all year round. It has SPF 40 and hyaluronic acid, so you’ll not only love the way your skin looks, it’s also great for your skin! Sometimes I wear it on it’s own, and sometimes I use it as a primer under a foundation or tinted moisturizer. I love it so much.
I’ve been using the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream for about a year and a half now, and I’m devoted to it as well. This is one of the products I added into my routine last year after reading about it on several blogs and in several “BEST OF” beauty articles. Lots of users compared it to the much more expensive La Mer line, but said they preferred this product! That was it, I was convinced I needed to try it. Officially, it’s a cream that floods skin with moisture for a glowing complexion in a flash. A little goes a long way with this cream, and it’s not greasy, but it is incredibly hydrating. There is a very light rose scent to this cream, and I don’t normally care for rose, but it doesn’t bother me at all.

Okay, now that we’ve covered a couple of oldies but goodies, let’s move on to the new stuff!
I’ve never been very adventurous with eye makeup (cream powder shadow every single day basically), but I thought it would be fun to start branching out a bit.
AND Y’ALL. I flipping went for it with false lashes. So here’s the deal with the lashes. I’ve always dreamed of getting lashes done professionally, but I’ve never wanted to spend the time or the money to have them done. I ordered a couple of different pairs of Charlotte Tilbury false lashes with great reviews, but they were too much for me and I just didn’t love them. And then the makeup artist at Nordstrom had beautiful lashes, and when I complimented her on them SHE HANDED ME THESE.

Ladies, the lashes look AMAZING and they are pretty dang user friendly. Per the instructions, I did cut a small section off of each row to make them fit my eyes better, and it worked! I’ve actually been using the little glue that came with the Charlotte Tilbury lashes, but I grabbed this glue from MAC as well (because the CT glue will run out soon). I like these particular lashes because they are wispy, not too dark or thick, and they just look natural BUT WAY BETTER (if that makes any sense). UPDATE: my exact lashes sold out, but these are super similar and have great reviews.
The Cream Shadow Stick is creamy (of course), it glides onto my eyelid, it doesn’t crease, and the color stays all day long! I have “Dusty Mauve” and really love the subtle color. It’s a nice departure from my always beige eye shadow.
And y’all. I didn’t know that I needed Bobbi Brown’s Brow Pencil in my life, BUT I TOTALLY DID. I love this product so much. My brows are naturally pretty full, but I didn’t realize that they were becoming a little sparse in areas. #thanksoldage The angled tip allows me to fill in “hairs” in a very precise manner, and the brush allows me to brush everything into place. It creates a defined and polished brow, and I just love it.

And while we are on the topic of eyes, let’s revisit some tried and true products I use for my eyes.
Trish McEvoy eye base / brush / eye brightener stick
This eye base evens out my skin tone and the discoloration and redness on my eyelids, provides a great base for my eye shadow, helps the shadow go on without any creasing, and enables it to stay on all day. It is quite a product. And I’m not the only that loves it, it has 343 almost perfect 5 star reviews. My color is “bare”, and it can be used alone without eye shadow if you wish. You can apply it with your fingertips, but I use this small angled brush head on this brush.
This eye brightener stick quickly and easily brightens the inner corner of your eyes and highlights your brow bone. It takes like 20 seconds to apply, and it opens and brightens my eyes. It’s awesome.

Now that we’ve covered eyes, let’s talk lips!
Below you see 2 new lip colors ( Charlotte Tilbury Jewel Lip Gloss and MAC Matte Metallic Liquid Lipcolor ) and 2 of my tried and true lip colors (Ruby Woo and Capricious).
Gemz Roses Liquid Lipcolor (on left) and Walk of No Shame Gloss (on right)
Here I am wearing Gemz Roses Liquid Lipcolor as the base and Walk of No Shame Gloss on top for a glossy finish. See how my lips have a bronze/metallic flair? I think it’s so fun!
And please, after you check out my lips, take a moment to check out my eyelashes (again these are similar and in stock) !!! And my brows!!! And my nail polish!!! All fun additions to my makeup bag.
I’ve also got some tried and true lip faves.
Capricious is a neutral that leans towards a berry/plum.
Ruby Woo is a red lipstick that I found a couple of years ago when I was looking for a bright red lip color before July 4th. I was told that Ruby Woo was the best universal red they had. Ruby Woo is supposed to look great on all types of skin tones and with all different hair colors. It’s definitely a blue red, which is great, because I don’t love a red that leans orange.

And here I am with Capricious as the base and Walk of No Shame Gloss on top.

And just for fun… here’s a side by side of me with 3 different lipstick colors, from a previous post.

Before we wrap things up, let’s check out some Fall nail colors. Just look at all the pretty colors!
You get 6 mini polishes in this set. I love all of the berry and plum options I have to choose from now. The polish goes on great and wears well too.

Marcia Compton says
Good morning I noticed that you are using glow screen and the Charlotte Tilsbury cream. Are you also using the Colleen Rothschild at the same time?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Marcia! I don’t use the Colleen moisturizer. I use almost everything else from Colleen, but not the moisturizer. Colleen recommended it to me years ago in the Colleen Rothschild Told Me To post I did, but I prefer the products mentioned today. My mom and sister swear by the moisturizers from Colleen though! xoxo
Shay Shull says
I’m always too nervous to use lashes, but you make these sound so user-friendly!
Susan Stancliff says
Love this post Sheaffer! I am a lipstick and nail polish person. Ruby Woo is my go to red and I love the colors in the nail set. Jo Malone scents are wonderful too. Do you have a link to the pink sweater with the dark pink stripes around the neck? It looks adorable.
Sheaffer says
Hey, Susan! That was 1901 (from Nordstrom) from last year, so it’s long gone. So sorry! xoxo
Sarah says
I need a video of how you use the eyebrow pencil! And eye highlighter!
Sheaffer says
I’ll see if I can maybe get one done over the weekend, Sarah!!! xoxo
Edie says
Girl! Those lashes are beautiful on you and that dark, bright pink sweater is too!
Sheaffer says
Aw, thank you so much Edie!!! xoxo
Erika Slaughter says
Your lashes are impressive!! They look really good! Maybe you can teach me??
