And if you missed my post from yesterday, make sure you click HERE to see how flipping cute some of these dresses look with my denim jacket! SERIOUSLY CUTE ifIdosaysomyself.
It’s the 2nd installment of our Stylee Soiree, and I’m linking up again with some lovely ladies!
(Make sure you read to the bottom of the post to see a favorite bag of mine on sale….and what I caved on and brought home with me yesterday!)
Today’s Summer Soiree celebrates Lilly Pulitzer!
That’s what I feel like I’ve been doing with this blog! I had let myself get into a dressing rut where I was just mindlessly pulling the same things out of my closet time and time again, but I changed my outlook….I started taking more risks…..and now dressing every day is fun!
Here is a little collage getting you in the Lilly mood.
Doesn’t she just look the the quintessential Soutern Belle?
(please remember to enter me as your hostess if you shop)

I absolutely LOVE my Fossil Marlow Satchel. LOVE it. I just don’t talk about it much because I rarely remember to throw it into my pictures.
When linking to it for this post, I found out that both the turquoise and the tomato color
are now on sale!
I am sooooo happy with my turquoise bag, but I almost got the tomato. I feel like the tomato is really a year round bag where the turquoise one is more spring/summer.
It’s a perfect size for me (not to big, not to small), the leather is soft, the handles are a good length, it has good interior pockets, and the fun colors can’t be beat.
Love the turquoise, but how fun is the tomato?
Okay, back to Lilly, our style inspiration for the day!
So, even though I can’t totally jump on the Lilly train, there are some exceptions to the rule
THESE shoes? Oh, I’m on board. They are just the right amount of DARLING!
I love the gold straps and the chevron pattern on the wedges is fab.
Now wait……
Before you go, I feel the need to tell you that I did it.
I caved to the pressure.
I held out for about 48 hours (impressive, I know), and then my will power crumbled.
I had a small gift card, I returned a purse from the Junior’s department that I had never carried,
and then I answered the siren song of the Vince Camuto Ellen flats.
I tried to google pictures of the flats, because my pictures can’t seem to give them the proper justice they deserve. I had no luck. This was the best picture I found.
Just trust that they look WAY better on.
I just couldn’t get the below picture out of my head and I kept thinking about how much I loved the nude patent!
I’m the picture of will power.
And in true ME fashion, I’m currently working on putting together a nude flat collage.
Before I decided to pull the trigger on the flats, I took to Pinterest to make sure I would have plenty of different outfits to wear them with. Pinterest convinced me, so I bought them.
PINTEREST TOLD ME TO Y’ALL.
I’ll show you the collage on Friday!

Okay, wrapping up!

Love this fun color combo and I need a new pair of nude flats – I had to retire mine from too much wear!

Love the post! You totally pulled off the inspiration. And those flats…looked fabulous on you in the store! I'm so glad you bought them!

I love your nude flats! I have a pair from Steve Madden that I bought a couple years ago. Every time I'd wear them, I'd feel like something just wasn't right. And then I recently looked them over and noticed that they're two different sizes!! Too bad I've already been wearing them for so long and never noticed!! I even ordered them online, so it was their mistake!
Alison @ Get Your Pretty On says
I adore Lilly Pulitzer's prints! Their summer collection is so perfect. Hmm, didn't want to make any more purchases that aren't on my vacation shopping list but I could be persuaded for those nude flats. Yes, definitely.

Hi Shaeffer! I recently discovered your blog and I love, love, love all of your suggestions! I am a little concerned though for what it may do to my wallet though! Your suggestions are always so cute, but I wondered if you ever have any suggestions for plus size girls? If you ever find anything- I am totally excited to see your suggestions!!
Chaney @ May Richer Fuller Be says
Whoa! We were sooo on the same page on this one! I picked the same print as my inspiration for my project. Great minds think alike!!
Jen {Whimsy at Heart} says
The way you interpreted the Lilly print was fab! Such a fun and bright summer look!

I've decided that your husband needs to have a talk with my husband, or all of our husbands, and let them know that it's totally okay to spend money on clothes. Could he please do that?

Loved this (and all of your) post! HOWEVER, I was totally looking forward to your bachelorette recap post this morning! PLEASE tell me its still coming later this week?? I look forward to reading them even more than I do to watching the show itself! You're hilarious 🙂 AND if you didn't notice, Bryden finally got some gel in his hair (or at least someone brushed aside/back his bangs) and gosh-darnit- he looked a gazillion times more handsome! If only he'd listened to you sooner ;)!

I'm not usually a flats person, but I am going to have to try these on. They might be perfect for my July NYC trip. I need something fashionable and cute to walk around the city in aside from my red Calisto wedges!
Next time I will master the linking up – I need to put my topic in the "Name" section instead of my name. This is only my second time linking up, so the third time will be the charm!

I just ordered the "Desert Sunset" dress you featured yesterday! It seems like the perfect thing to wear with my denim jacket! I hope I love it in person as much as I love it on you and on the website! Great find!
