Before we get started on our jewelry post today, I need to talk about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Because it’s T-18 DAYS, PEOPLE. If you are new to the blog, well then you might not be aware that I am your GO TO CORRESPONDENT for the sale. Some of you might not even know what the Anniversary Sale is, so I feel it’s my civic duty to take a bit of time today to do a little education. Here’s what you need to know. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is THE BIGGEST AND BEST SALE OF THE WHOLE ENTIRE YEAR. And no, I’m not over-selling it. It’s mainly fall and winter items (although there are a couple of warm weather items that always seem to find their way in and there is always TONS of great jewelry), and the items are DEEPLY DISCOUNTED. DEEPLY. Like, we’re talking mind-blowing deals. The catalog arrived on Saturday, and I may have audibly squealed when I opened my mailbox. The catalog only contains a portion of what the actual sale will have, but I’m telling you, IT’S GONNA BE GOOD THIS YEAR. The booties, boots, and bags alone are making my heart race.
If you’ve never experienced the sale before, here’s what you need to do today. You need to get a Nordstrom Credit (or Debit Card if credit cards aren’t your thing!) ASAP so you can shop for AN ENTIRE WEEK before everybody else. Cardholders can shop July 14th-21st. Everybody isn’t allowed to start shopping until July 22nd. And here’s what’s important about that: some of the most coveted items and the most sought after sizes will already be sold out by the time July 22nd rolls around. And, not only can you shop early access, you also earn points towards Nordstrom Notes (like gift cards) with every purchase you make.
The sale can be overwhelming, but never fear, because I will be your personal shopper! 🙂 It is my hope that I take the stress out of it for you, and you will just have a ton of fun scoring lots of amazing deals. If you don’t have a Nordstrom near you, don’t worry, because you will feel like you are there. I WILL TAKE YOU THERE. I will show you TONS of items, and I will also name FAVORITE FINDS. I’ve never found a MUST HAVE at the sale, but I have high hopes this year, so we’ll see. #fingerscrossed
Here’s an example of one of my pictures I had up on the blog last year the day the sale went live. The sweater, earrings, necklace, jeans, and booties were all part of the sale. See how handy? I’ll fight the crowds, I’ll try it all on, and I will weed out the stuff I don’t love……and then y’all can just get your shop on. Easy Peasy. Click HERE to see one of my posts from last year if you want to get a peek into my sale coverage. I’m telling you. It’s comprehensive. 😉 I even do a SANTA ALERTS post highlighting items that I think would make perfect Christmas gifts! There’s also a HUGE GIVEAWAY I do for a special needs mama (more on that on Friday – it’s my favorite thing I do all year!), and I’m thinking of asking y’all to tag me on instagram in your favorite finds for another contest this year!
Y’all just go ahead and sit back and relax…..I’ll be over here carb-loading, getting plenty of sleep, and SCOURING over the catalog to prepare. Don’t worry. I’ve got this.

Okay, now on to the real purpose for today’s post! Today is all about jewelry. Five years ago all I wore was my wedding rings, a ring I got for my 5 year anniversary, and a sweet little diamond drop necklace I got for my 30th birthday. But after starting the blog and photographing my outfits, I started realizing that they needed a little somethin’ somethin. And that’s when I started adding some fun jewelry to my outfits!
It’s amazing to me how a great pair of earrings or necklace can make an outfit. I would say that 70% of my jewelry comes from Nordstrom, so when they asked me to talk about their jewelry, it was an easy “HECK YES!”. One thing that I love about Nordstrom’s selection of jewelry is that they have something at EVERY PRICE POINT. We’re talking from a $5 pair of earrings….all the way up to Michele watches AND BEYOND.
So, today, we are just going to take a little walk down memory lane, highlighting some of my favorite Nordstrom jewelry that I own, and I’ll break it down into price points. We’ll start at OVER $100 (which is a very small category for me! ha!), and we’ll go all the way down to UNDER $20! It’s going to be fun!
But before we start the walk down memory lane, I thought I would show you my one new piece of jewelry in this post. THIS darling orange and turquoise tassel necklace! I’m wearing it with my summer uniform of 2016: a tee, cut-offs, and my shoreline converse. I’m getting some comments on social media about my tan, and it’s thanks to THESE tan towels. They give such a natural glow!!!
outfit details: necklace / earrings / v-neck tee (I’m wearing a small, true to size.) / $12 cami (I’m wearing a medium, so I sized up.) / similar denim shorts (I’d suggest sizing up for more of a boyfriend shorts look.)/ Shoreline Converse (I suggest sizing up a 1/2 size.)
********** OVER $100 **********
My leather wrap around watch is the most expensive accessory I own from Nordstrom. It even made it on to my SHOULD HAVE BEEN A MUST HAVE list that I created several months ago. Sadly, it’s not in stock right now, but I still felt it deserved a mention since it makes an appearance in almost every post. It’s shown here with two bracelets between $25-$50.
all other Michael Kors watches (many on sale!) / gold bracelet / similar enamel bracelet
This abalone cuff is definitely a head turner and it’s just over $100 at $120. I’m wearing it with this simple gold bangle (seen above as well) that is a great stacking bracelet.
outfit details: maxi dress (I’m wearing a petite small.)/ BEST STRAPLESS BRA EVER (bra for smaller cup sizes HERE)/ MUST HAVE denim jacket (I’m wearing a small.)/ cross body / cork wedges ON SALE / open hoop charm earrings / gold bangle /abalone bangle / $18 necklace /
********** $75-$100 **********
If you don’t have a Rayne necklaces *$80-$90 depending on the color) yet, fix that today. I named any piece of Kendra Scott jewelry a MUST HAVE a couple of years ago (my favorites are the rayne necklaces and the elle earrings), and it’s jewelry that I still reach for today!
Here I am with my magenta necklace!
outfit details: my little white dress (I’m wearing a medium, so I sized up.)/ MUST HAVE jacket (I’m wearing a small, so it’s true to size.)/ magenta rayne necklace / cork wedges ON SALE (order 1/2 a size up)/ clutch/ gold bracelet / gold hoop earrings /ray-ban sunglasses / best strapless bra ever
This next pair of earrings ($80) is from Kendra Scott as well. They are new to her collection this year, and they are so fun and different! These open hoop earrings have super cool charms hanging off of them, and you can pull them off and on for a custom look.
********** $50-$75 **********
I have a handful of items in this category, including MY VERY FAVORITE EARRINGS EVER. Like EVER. FOR REAL. I’ve had them for 2 years now. They are light as a feather, but still make a great statement with their size! I even included them in my SHOULD HAVE BEEN A MUST HAVE post HERE!!!! These earrings are $60, which I realize isn’t cheap, but they are well worth it. I promise. You will LOVE these earrings. (Everything in my outfit is sold out, so sorry!) 🙁
Here’s another shot with the earrings.
outfit details: high-low maxi dress (I’m wearing a small, so true to size)/ MUST HAVE jacket (I’m wearing a small, so true to size.)/ UGG t-strap wedges (true to size)/ sunglasses / earrings / necklace sold out :(, but other turquoise necklace found HERE / bag sold out
Kendra Scott Elle earrings are $55, and they are another definite favorite of mine. The Danielle earrings are a bit to large and heavy for my liking, but the Elle are just perfect. I have them turquoise, white, and abalone. Here are my turquoise ones!
And I wanted you to see the whole outfit so you can see how the earrings really pop!
outfit details: top / best strapless bra EVER / jeans / clutch (cross body version available HERE)/ cork wedges ON SALE!!!/ earrings / similar $12 sunglasses
Another shot of the turquoise earrings.

And here’s the abalone! They are fab ifidosaysomyself. The abalone itself is beautiful (the picture below gives you a really great idea for how pretty the abalone stone is!), and it really does go with everything.

********** $25-$50 **********
Nordstrom actually has a wonderful selection of jewelry between $25 and $50 from some of my favorite brands like Panacea, Nakamol, Sole Society, and BaubleBar.
THESE are a pair of turquoise fringe hoop earrings I got last month, and I’ve had so much fun incorporating them in to outfits! At $32 they pack quite a punch! I got this dress several months ago, but it sold out before I even received it, so I’ve never shown y’all. You can find a similar one with sleeves HERE and a tank one HERE that has FANTASTIC reviews).
outfit details: earrings / my exact dress sold out (options directly above) / tote in THIS post / similar sandals HERE
And here’s another shot of my $32 earrings! Now remember, the top has cut outs all across the bottom and sides, so it’s really a great top for vacation, date night, or girl’s night out. It comes in white as well which is so fresh and crisp! Still, if you aren’t comfortable showing skin, this top isn’t for you. The sleeves have really cute ties on them and the fit is great. This top is definitely a head turner! I’m wearing a small, so I think it’s true to size. Pay special attention to the wedges. I didn’t keep them for myself (only because I thought they were too similar to a pair I already own), but they have 5/5 5 STAR REVIEWS. People love these wedges!
top / similar jeans / turquoise fringe hoop earrings / putty wedges
And if you want a better look at the above earrings, I have them side by side with another turquoise hoop below.
Click HERE for the $35 earrings on top c/o Sole Society, but also available at Nordstrom. Click HERE for earrings on bottom. Apparently I’m crushing on turquoise right now. They are both light weight, but the top ones are VERY light.
Here I am in the super lightweight turquoise hoops from above. Click HERE for this stone and tassel necklace that is $30!
If you’ve been following for awhile, you know I’ve been crushing on Kate Spade studs for several years now. I was so excited this year when she came out with her mini studs. They are PERFECT for the pool and beach, but I also love the little pop of color they had to regular ol’ outfits.
I also wear them when I work out. Which right now is quite seldom. #oops I love the color choices and they are $38. I’m wearing the abalone below, but I really love the denim blue!
similar Nike sports bra / another sports bra option with incredible reviews / zella side tie top / zella live-in crop leggings / similar Nike Free shoes / Kate Spade mini studs
If you would like a close up of some of the colors, here you go!
And don’t forget about the glitter studs HERE (regular and mini). Here’s a side by side of the big studs with the little studs to better compare the sizing.

********** UNDER $20 **********
So if it’s a SERIOUS BARGAIN that you are looking for, you need to check out the jewelry in the junior department. I’ve picked up several necklaces and earrings from here over the past several years, and with the exception of a couple of things I returned (2 of the things I ordered looked cheap), I have LOVED my other pieces and have been seriously impressed with the quality! For example, check out this $18 pendant necklace!
outfit details: maxi dress (I’m wearing a petite small.)/ BEST STRAPLESS BRA EVER (bra for smaller cup sizes HERE)/ MUST HAVE denim jacket (I’m wearing a small.) / cork wedges ON SALE / open hoop charm earrings / gold bangle /abalone bangle / $18 necklace / cork clutch with monogram
And here’s another $18 necklace! This one is totally simple, and goes with EVERYTHING. It’s super similar to another necklace out there that is $79, and I’m telling you, it’s almost identical.
outfit details: top (I’m wearing a small.)/ turquoise circle hoop earrings / $18 necklace / bracelet trio /similar jeans / leopard footwear options
Here’s another shot of the bar necklace.
pants / white tee / denim jacket / cork wedges ON SALE/ $18 bar necklace / leather wrap watch /
THESE earrings are the cheapest item on my list! You buy them in a set of two for $9.98 (either white and pink or black and turquoise)….which makes them ONLY $4.99 each! They are big and chunky and awesome.
vineyard vines hat / cover up / chunky stud earrings / TOMS burlap flip flops / beach bag
And one more $18 tassel necklace!!!!! The necklace comes in turquoise, white, and black and is obviously an awesome price point!
pleated back shirt / $18 tassel necklace / initial necklace c.o Moon and Lola and available at Nordstrom/ sunglasses/ blingy hoop earrings (These are another one of my staples!)
Okay, girls! Here’s the last item on today’s post. The BP hammered hoop earrings (that are just a smaller AND MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE VERSION of my beloved Gorjana hoops) are back in stock!!!!!! Click HERE! They are ONLY $12!!!!
I hope today’s post was helpful…it was CERTAINLY comprehensive. Here’s a little review for you! Just scroll right to see thumbnails of just about everything highlighted today. Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!
