It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means!  It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now!

FAVORITE #1: ANSWERED PRAYERS

So y’all know I’ve been asking for prayers for my friend Jill’s son Drew.   He had surgery on Monday (more on that in a sec!), and one of Jill’s friends asked for all that loved him to send in “I Love You” and “thumbs up” pictures for Drew.  She made a slide show for him so he could see everybody that was praying for him, and they watched it as a family the night before his surgery.  Isn’t that sweet!

He had the surgery on Monday morning, and it was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!!  Drew is 100% AVM free, and we are all so thankful!  THANKS BE TO GOD!  I personally want to thank all of you that prayed for Drew, his doctors, and his family.  We know it was the prayers that carried them through!  Click HERE for Jill’s update after the surgery was completed.  As always, I promise it will strengthen your faith and bless you!  Take a second to go and read her beautiful words, but I want to post the continued prayer requests here:  Please continue to pray for healing and a smooth recovery.  Pray for pain management, discernment, and strength.  Pray Drew’s nausea/vomiting goes away and he is able to move forward in meeting his post surgery milestones quickly so that we can get back home.  It will take some time to assess the long term results of the surgery and any challenges that might bring.  However, I am staring at my living, breathing son right this second.  He has passed all neuro checks with flying colors and is fully aware of his surroundings.  Drew is going to be just fine.

My $34 dress is the ivory/black combination and it is BACK IN STOCK!  Now remember, there is apparently great variance in sizing (regarding length and arm hole size), but I’ve never had any trouble, and I own two (the solid back and this one).  If you are 5’7″ or over, this is probably going to be way to short for you.  For size reference, I’m 5’4″ and wearing a small, which is true to size for me.  I love the wood horn with the stripes!

FAVORITE #3:  MY GINGHAM POPOVER IS ON SALE!!!!!

Anthro is having their Summer Tag Sale, and I noticed that my popover is included!  It was regularly $88, and now it’s on sale for $49.95!  To be honest, the shirt was even worth it to me at $88!  I’m wearing a 4, so I think it’s true to size.  Some people say they sized down, but I’m glad I didn’t.

FAVORITE #4:  MY FashionABLE TOTE

So, after seeing this tote in tons of pics over the last several weeks, you have to know I am FULL BLOWN OBSESSED.  It’s GORGEOUS.  The color, the leather, everything.  People continue to stop me and ask me about it…and I continue to ADORE it.  AND GUESS WHAT!  I”m partnering up with FashionABLE today to do a giveaway for my exact tote!  Just head to the rafflecopter at the bottom of the post to enter!!!!!

Now, CHECK THIS OUT!  A couple of weeks ago, I spilled an entire bottle of water in my beloved tote and thought I had ruined it.  There was a HUGE water stain, and I was just sick about it.  But then I remembered my friend Carly had a similar thing happen a couple of years back, so I called her, and she told me what to do.   She even wrote a post about it! Now, get ready to be amazed by some before and after pics!IMG_3185

Check out the water stain in the top left picture.  EEEEEK!  Awful, right? In the top right picture, you’ll see I put the bag in the bathtub and filled it up with water.  In the bottom left picture, you can see how the water soaked through.  I let it do this for about an hour or so, and then on Carly’s advice, I emptied the remaining water out.  The next step (I’m not sure why I didn’t get a picture of this step) involved me turning it upside down on top of an upside down soup pot with a large pitcher stacked on top if it (on Carly’s post a reader suggested to stuff it with rolled up towels to help it maintain it’s shape) to let it dry.  It dried for like 48 hours.  And about 24 hours in to the process, I still thought it was going to dry the dark cognac color….and I desperately wanted it to return to the gorgeous honey color.  WELL, LOOK!  IT DID!  Thank you Carly for being a genius!

FAVORITE #7:  LAKE DAYS WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Last weekend we headed to the lake with some friends for the day.  Our friends Tom and Tracy have a pontoon, and it’s so much fun!  We hung out on their doc, rode around a bit, and also docked on one of the “beaches” for a couple of hours.  It was a great day!

I put this on instagram (follow me HERE), and then immediately regretted using the Lo-Fi filter because it highlighted my body freckles so much!  Ha!friday12

Devin and Carter had the best time.  Devin is about to be in 5th grade, and Carter is about to be in 2nd, but they are more like cousins than friends…so the age difference doesn’t seem to bother them!

My friend Laura took this shot of Carter at one of his last baseball games!  Carter saw the pic and thought he had swung too early, but he had really just hit the ball!  He made a lot of progress with his batting during the season, and we were so proud of him.  Thanks for the pic, Laura!

    I bought the $34 dress in the navy and white pattern. The armholes are too big but if I put a tank underneath, it fixes the problem and looks cute. I bought a small and I’m 5’2″. The length is short but appropriate.

    I just wanted to thank you for bringing Supergoop to my attention!! I’m HIGHLY allergic to most sunblocks and I emailed Supergoop to ask about ingredients and return policies. They responded IMMEDIATELY and told me to try the mineral sunblock. I did and IM NOT ALLERGIC!! Woohoo! I was so happy about this, that I bought the CC cream and the setting mist and I’m not allergic to those either!! Oh happy day!

    I got a sample of the hand cream with SPF and I gave that to my mom since she gardens a lot.

    I’m very curious about the spf chapstick they have, but i’m MORE hesitant about that since my lips react way more to spf allergies than my face/body.

    Anyway, thanks for the great tip on Supergoop!

    I LOVE your blog! I started following for Bachelor/ette posts but realized I love all of your fashion posts too! Almost every time you post something from Nordstrom, I shop. Being a newlywed, my husband wasn’t too thrilled with that at first. ? BUT I’ve officially gotten HIM hooked too! He has me order Kiehl’s products from Nordstrom because we don’t live near a store that carries their products.     What a blessing and praise to hear about your friend’s son! We have a friend who’s four year old son is fighting a fatal brain tumor and another who’s teenage son had their leg amputated a few months ago in hopes of it containing the cancer but unfortunately it’s spread with no more treatment options. These are the hardest and bravest fights I’ve ever seen and it breaks my heart that any parent should ever have to worry and see such suffering. I’m so glad your friend’s son was spared and she is no longer facing this sadness.

    We’ve faced our share of medical bills over the years for girls with compromised immune systems, and I’m so incredibly grateful everything is treatable and manageable even if it’s expensive, so winning this tote would be awesome because I never splurge on myself anymore.
