Friday Favorites

It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means!  It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now.

Let’s start today off with an unexpected find that I am so excited about!  This printed shirt dress.

It is such an easy and comfortable dress to wear, and I love it so much more than I was expecting to!  I found it online and was drawn to the navy floral, but it comes in two other colorways as well.  I ordered the regular small because the petite small was sold out, and I ended up absolutely loving this length.  At 5’4″, it hit me about mid knee, but the cut of the dress (cut on the slim slide with a v neck) still made it sassy and not too matronly.  I’ve already worn it casually to dinner and running around town one night with my rose gold slides.  I’ve also dressed it up with my must have wedges for church.  It’s a good one, y’all!

These waterfall earrings are gorgeous.   The gold teardrops on top cascade into teardrops with a beautiful patina on the bottom.  They look delicate and are quite unique.  The brass ladder necklace is a tried and true favorite (it’s 5 years old and I still reach for it), and it’s 40% OFF right now with the code AMERICA.

And I after ordered the dress above, this one popped up on the site too by the same maker.  It’s described as a “kicky little dress”, which made me think I’m going to love it as well.  Ha!  I think it will also be a great basic dress, so I’m ordering both the black and the red to see which one I like better.  #agirlneedsoptions

This chiquita necklace is SO MUCH FUN.  Colorful, light weight, and it screams summer.  I’m wearing it here with a solid color tee and my favorite cut offs.  And look how cute it makes an otherwise simple outfit!  You can spiff up just about all of your summer outfits with this necklace.

In addition to this cute outfit, I’m using 3 different products in this picture that are really helping me up my summer game:  1)  I bought the red lipstick in preparation for my Get Festive for the 4th post, and I was told it was the perfect red for so many different skin tones.  I’m LOVING it (“Ruby Woo” is the shade), and I feel like it totally changes my look for certain outfits.  2)  I don’t remember where I saw the body blur, but I use it for days that I need some color and don’t have time to use self tanner.  It’s kind of like a body tint I guess, but the color can be immediately washed off.  I use the cafe creme. The only time it’s ever rubbed off on my clothes was when I threw on some white jeans to grab a picture for the blog.  I then top it all off with the 3) coconut body glow on top.  AND I’m telling you…..MAGIC!  Look at my legs in all of the below pics!

The second I saw this SUMMER FRIDAYS tee online, I knew I had to have it!  I sized up to a medium for a relaxed fit, but if you don’t have a larger chest, you can totally stick with your regular size.

If you see me on any Friday this summer, I can pretty much guarantee I’ll be wearing this baby. #summerfridayuniform  To show you the versatility of this tee, I’ve already created 3 separate outfits with it.

I switched out the rose gold slides for the red patent flip flops (size up a 1/2 in both) and went with a wooden statement earring! I know it’s hard to believe, but these earrings really are incredibly light.

This next top looks like it was made for these earrings.  It’s a soft cotton and is so incredibly comfortable.  I have a small, and I love the baby doll fit, but I’ve actually ordered an x-small to see if I like it less blousy.  The small is VERY generous sizing, so I think most people are probably going to want to size down.

Okay, this is the last outfit today that you first saw in a flat lay last week. This dress is PERFECT for vacation, and the tassel earrings look great with it.  It’s not lined, but it’s not see thru either.  This would absolutely be a great dress to throw on and wear to dinner on vacation or even just to the pool.  I have the size 6 (which says it fits like a US 2-4).  Wearing the Ruby Woo lipstick again here and loving it.

Here’s what you need to know:   *They never use synthetic fragrance.  *They believe Mother Nature makes the best fragrance so they let the lavender, rosemary, and citrus to do their thing naturally.  *All of the creams, lotions and liquid soaps are aloe-based, not water-based.  Basically, where most formulas would use water, they have replaced that water with aloe vera.  *All of the products can be used head to toe.  In fact, the Unscented Heavy Cream is a fabulous nighttime facial moisturizer and the Lavender Lotion No. 145 is a great daytime facial moisturizer (as well as wonderful skin conditioner/soother for sunburn).  *All of the products are safe to use on children, but they recommend starting slow on the shampoo and conditioner.  Although gentle, sometimes the peppermint can be a little strong for them.

Hi, Jamie!  I’ve had lots of people asking me recently for jewelry storage tips, so I thought I should answer today with a picture! I had my closet done by California Closets a couple of years ago, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever spent money on!  I’m hoping that in the near future I’ll have a full blown closet tour (only a couple of years late! ha!), but today you get to see how I store my necklaces.

I’ve got two words for you:

BELT

RACKS

Now, here’s how I store some of my earrings.  This is hung on the small wall immediately when I walk into my closet.  I love how it creates a pretty little area, plus the earrings are easy to put up and I have super easy access when I want to grab a pair!

Earlier that day I had run to JCPenney to shop for the JCP post I having coming up next week!  I found a lot of really great stuff that I can’t wait to share (the women’s shoes are especially cute right now – like these gold slides and these coral/red slides), and Carter was pumped that they carry Adidas!  I was excited to show him his new soccer tee, but he politely informed me it was actually a basketball on the shirt.  Oops.  Looked like a soccer ball to me!  Ha!  I spotted this soccer tee in store, but they didn’t have it in his size, so I will be ordering it for him.  You know, to redeem myself.

The light was intense behind us, but I still managed to grab one more pic with the little guy.

And girls!  I had to take a selfie when I saw that JCPenney carries my shampoo and conditioner!   I’ve always purchased it from ULTA, so I was so happy to find an additional source.

If you’ve been reading my blog since the beginning, then you know Redken All Soft shampoo and  Redken All Soft conditioner have been my GO TO shampoo for over 10 years now!  For years and years I had used Pantene, and it had always been fine.  And then one day that all changed.  My hair started feeling and looking dry, and it wasn’t shiny anymore.  My hair dresser at the time recommended trying this set, and I will never use anything else.  It completely changed the texture of hair, and now it looks healthy again!  And it only took a handful of uses before I noticed a big difference.

Speaking of JCPenney, do y’all know that lots of JCPenney stores have a Sephora inside?  I’m not a big Sephora shopper, but I know there are lots of you that are!  I popped in and got an eyeliner when I was shopping for my JCPenney post, and they signed me up for their rewards program.  Sound off in the comments and tell me all I need to know about Sephora, your MUST HAVE products you buy there, and their rewards program!

Carter is constantly snuggling his pups.  And it warms my heart every single time I see them all cuddled up.  It’s a favorite for sure.

I mean…

Chris actually posted this picture on instagram on Sunday because it was our 1 year Anniversary of becoming a family of 5!  Can you even believe how big my 3 boys are now?  And if you are new around here, you need to click HERE to see the post where I told the story of the day we got the pups (there’s even a link to a video of us telling Carter that we were getting TWO!).
