SOME GREAT SPRING AND SUMMER FINDS

I’m totally digging the boho vibes of this smocked yoke top. I love the split neck, the embroidery, the relaxed cut, and the swingy fit. I think it looks great worn out or with a half tuck. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

Besides the top, everything I’m wearing is the exact same outfit you saw me in last week with several different outfits.

So many of y’all have already purchased these jeans and love them! It looks like they’ve been restocked in all sizes, so you can grab them now if you didn’t have a chance to last week.

These mid-rise flare jeans have mixed reviews online, but I happen to think they’re awesome. They’ve got a slight flare leg, which is totally on trend, and I love the wash and the length. I’m 5’4″ with long legs for my height (and no torso! ha!). They are a shorter ankle length on the model, but they are longer on me. I like this length on me, but I think they’d be cute shorter too! They are a mid-rise, and I think they fit like a trouser jean up top with how the waistband and pockets are placed. I rarely find myself reaching for skinny jeans anymore, and I can now confidently say that I’ve fully embraced straight leg, flare leg, and boot cut options. I sized up to a 6 in these jeans for a relaxed feel.

Do you remember these linen blend drawstring shorts from last week? They are both totally on trend as well as super comfy.

They’ve got an elastic waist (PRAISE!) and an adorable rope drawstring tie that lets you cinch in the waist as much or as little as you want. The buttons are totally functional, but I like to pull the shorts off and on without having to unbutton them at all. They’re mid-rise and mid-thigh, so they’re a good length for moms on the go. I’m wearing the “blush tint”, but they also come in “ivory” as well as “dried basil” (which I think looks more like a heathered charcoal grey). For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the shorts.

And here’s the same shorts with a smocked floral top for a sweeter look. This is the “green multi” and it has a lilac/blush colored floral pattern, which makes the top a good match for these shorts. I’m wearing a small in the top and the shorts.

This is the outfit from last week where I first showed you the shorts. I’ve now shown you 3 different ways to style them. They’d also be cute with just a solid color tee as well.

This colorblock hoodie is adorable. It caught my eye on the site, and I had to order it to review. It’s hoodie styling, but the fabric is more like a slinky sweater. It’s definitely on the expensive side, but I really do like the look. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I’m completely smitten with this peasant blouse, and I’m thrilled that there’s been a restock! I fell in love with it a couple of weeks ago, but it was totally sold out, so I never talked about it. I saw yesterday that it’s back! It’s a super soft cotton gauze, and I love the feminine detailing of the lace across the chest, the billowy sleeves, and the dainty little buttons. It’s easy, breezy, and my idea of a perfect spring and summer top. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

I love the idea of this shirt, but I don’t love it on my shape. I think it would be better suited on somebody with a smaller chest.

It’s 100% cotton with boho styling and a swingy fit. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This simple striped tee is my idea of a really great closet basic. It looks to be sold out, but I’m posting it because I’m hoping for a restock. It comes in several solid colors too, and it’s only $9! I’m wearing a medium.

This gauzy button up is so good. It’s not sheer, it washes beautifully, it’s lightweight and very soft, and it doesn’t require an iron. I mean, WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE! It also comes in a light blue, a cornflower blue, and a Kelly green I showed last week.

I stuck with my regular size (a medium) and it’s long and quite blousy, but I wanted it to be very blousy. I actually think this top would be great as a cover-up too. If you want it to fit more like a standard button up, you are probably going to want to size down.

SPRING BREAK RANCH TRIPS

Our Spring Break was early in March, but I realized I never shared pics!

We went to the ranch house the first weekend with family and the last weekend with friends. A great time was had by all.

The first weekend we went with Chris’s sister’s family and my sister’s family.

That’s Brody and Bennett on the left (my sister’s kids) and Eliah and Shawn on the right (Chris’s sister’s kids). It was so much fun being able to hang with all of the cousins!

And that’s Willa, Chris’s cousin’s daughter who hung with us all weekend. They live very near the ranch, so we are lucky enough to get to see them all the time. 🙂

Pretty cute crew, huh?

We are so thankful to have the ranch as a place to all meet and spend time together.

The next weekend the Harris family met us at the ranch. The two guys in the middle are Ethan and Aidan. They don’t look like it, but they’re twins. Carter has been friends with those boys since kindergarten, and if you’re a regular blog reader, you’ve seen them on the blog countless times. Chance is their little brother, and the Harris family has been to the ranch with us several times. We love having them.

 

Years ago the boys started building a fort in this one area on the property, and every time they come, they work on it more.

(Also….just fyi….the round thing in Carter’s front pocket is his retainer case! Don’t worry, he’s not dipping. Hahaha!)

This year they even carved out a seating area! We were seriously impressed!

These boys did a lot of fishing.

This one has my heart.

I’m so thankful for these boys and this family.

SOCCER SEASON ENDED

Soccer season was over for the freshman team in mid March, and we were so sad to see the season come to an end. Carter had the best time this season, and he hopes to continue his soccer journey all the way thru high school.  He has decided to not play football next year and to only concentrate on soccer. I have to say, this mama’s heart was super excited about his decision.
