I’m going to keep this super short, but I wanted to give an update.
Yes, I’m still hacked. 🙁
Yes, we are still working hard to gain control back.
These shorts are on their way to me, so I thought I would go ahead and plan an outfit. I’ll be recreating this look as soon as my shorts come in! Besides the shorts, I already have everything else I need!
MINI SHOPPING WITH SHEAFFER
I’ve received great feedback on my mini Shopping with Sheaffer features that I’ve been doing on Friday Favorites, so I have another one for you today!
Here’s a handful of things I’ve found over the last week or so…
Last time I talked about my Hanky Panky undies on the blog, I had a reader reach out and tell me to give these a try as a much more affordable option. I realllllllllllly like these! They are very comfy on, and they are lightweight, breathable, and don’t show lines! It says hand wash, but don’t you worry, I don’t hand wash them. #aintnobodygottimeforthat
Now full disclosure, if I had to make a choice, I still prefer my Hanky Panky’s. But I understand that the HP’s are cost prohibitive, and you can grab these right now for just a little over $3 a pair! At 20% OFF, you can get a 5 pack for right at $16! Compared to the $24 a pair Hanky Panky’s, this is quite a deal!
If you still aren’t sure, GO READ THE REVIEWS FOR YOURSELF. There are over 40,000 5 STAR reviews. WOW.
If you’re looking for a dress that’s fun and flirty, this is it!
This colorblock dress is soooo fun, sooooo flirty, and sooooo cute! The smocked top is super comfy, and the square neck and puff sleeves are really great. The colors are what initially attracted me to the dress. They remind me of a sunset! For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
This flutter sleeve blouse is adorable. It’s a gauzy cotton, lightweight, and a beautiful sunshiny yellow color. The sleeves are soft and flouncy. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
I LOVE THESE DENIM SHORTS. They are cute, soft, AND OH SO COMFY. They have a functional zipper and button….BUT GET THIS…..there’s elastic across the back of the waistband. Yep, they’re basically like toddler shorts. And they’re awesome. If you fully tuck in shirts, then these shorts aren’t going to be for you because the elastic waistband isn’t cute. But since I only 1/2 tuck shirts, nobody will ever see the waistband. I’ll just benefit from the comfort! And this year they added pink and orange ones to the mix. SO CUTE! They’ve got white too! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. They are roomy, a little slouchy, and just perfect.
And I’m DYING over this BEACH bag. It’s very similar to the super popular and super expensive Stoney Clover brand, but this one is ONLY $30! A similar bag at Stoney Clover would be over $200 once you added the letters/patches.
It also comes in pink with the word “VACAY”! I think both are great.
If you remember, I first introduced the shorts I’m wearing above last week with this Texas tee.
It has a vintage feel and look (with the raw seams and hem), and it features our state flower (the bluebonnet). I will say that I thought it looked more like a lightweight sweatshirt on the Nordstrom site, but it’s definitely the weight of a t-shirt. For size reference, I’m wearing a small, and it’s still quite roomy.
I’m not keeping this dress for myself because I prefer to not show any cleavage, but there’s no doubt that this floral dress is GORGEOUS. (Sidenote, I have a very short torso and don’t have much space at all between my chest and neck, so I’m thinking that it won’t show cleavage on most people.)
It is fully lined and such a romantic look! There’s a faux wrap neckline with a snap up top for modesty. It has smocking across the back which makes it forgiving and comfortable. I think both the print and the colors are beautiful. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I love eyelet. Like I realllllllly love eyelet. This eyelet dress has a square neck and babydoll styling, and y’all know I love the longer sleeve length. It’s fully lined and beautifully made. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
I’ve got another dress. Yep, ANOTHER dress.
What can I say, I’ve got a thing for dresses right now.
This flutter sleeve dress is adorable, and although it comes in 9 colors, I was drawn this this poppy red floral. I think it will look great on all body types, and the fit is very forgiving. It’s a shift, but a very relaxed shift. The neckline and the double flutter sleeve make it dainty and feminine. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
I had several questions come in about the top I was wearing on Wednesday’s Our Place post.
This gauzy blouse is such a pretty color, and I love the relaxed fit. It has near perfect reviews, and I totally agree with everybody that it’s awesome. It’s a little bit thinner than the gauze dress above, which I like for a top. I haven’t washed it yet, but the reviewers say that it launders perfectly. And really, if you need convincing, go read the reviews. Everybody loves this shirt, and it’s ON SALE right now.
If you remember, here is how I styled the top last week…
I haven’t owned a pair of khaki shorts that I love in years. I’m not sure why, I just haven’t. I’m excited to have these chino shorts in my closet now! They are a great closet staple.
For size reference, I’m wearing a size 4, but they are pretty dang snug. I’m thinking I would be much more comfortable in the 6. If your tummy isn’t your problem area, you should be able to stick with your normal size. Heads up: these don’t have much stretch, even though they are called “stretch chino shorts”. They’re ON SALE right now too!
If you’re a gal that has always loved and always worn the J Crew chino shorts, you should update your shorts wardrobe with these patch pocket chino shorts. These have a bit more stretch in them, so my regular size 4 works fine, and the big patch pockets are totally on trend. These are shorter with a 3″ inseam, so keep that in mind. Also ON SALE.
Are you dying over this open front blazer? BECAUSE I’M DYING. I showed it to you last month, AND I’M STILL DYING. I love the fit, I love the open casual vibe, and I love the scrunchie sleeves. It’s a wonderful piece, and I’m so happy to have added it to my closet! It’s a great little blazer that’s casual, but classic and polished as well. And listen, I love a blazer moment with jeans. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
These jeans are actually from last year, and I continue to love them. To me, they are like if a skinny jean and a straight jean had a baby. And they have the ‘Ab’solution technology that slims, shapes and lifts in all the right places!
They aren’t super fitted on the calf or around the ankle, and the ankle has a little split on the side. They are great with sneakers, sandals, booties, flats, wedges, whatever! These are great for spring and summer because I love to have just a tiny bit of ankle showing! I do suggest sizing down. I’m wearing a size 2. THESE ARE AWESOME JEANS. They have the perfect amount of stretch.
IT’S GIVING MUMU VIBES
This dress has near perfect reviews, and I too would give it 5 STARS. The pattern and the colors are both gorgeous. It’s totally chic.
It’s different than anything else I have in my closet.
When I saw this dress online, I immediately thought it would be a perfect dress for a beach vacation. It’s definitely nice enough for a sunset dinner, but you could also throw it over a swimsuit as a cover up!
But it’s not just for the beach. I’ll be wearing it around town for a girlfriend lunch, to church, etc. Heck, you could wear it to the office or a backyard BBQ as well! This dress is incredibly versatile.
I mean, name another dress that would be appropriate for all of the aforementioned places. Based upon how you style it, you can dress it way up or way down.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small, and it’s still roomy. I would recommend for most to size down.
The sunglasses are my favorites from Amazon that I’ve been wearing for 3 years now (they are under $15!), and I highly recommend both the brassy hoop arrings and the beaded necklace too. In fact, the beaded necklace is super affordable, so I purchased it in 3 different colorways last year. They all have the wooden beads up top, and then different colored beads on the bottom.
Here’s a good luck at the beads. This is the “balloon party”. I also have the necklace in the “blazing orange” and the “fuschia red”.
Yep, I’ll be wearing this dress pretty much everywhere. It’s easy, breezy, swingy, and beautiful.
Now, I will warn you, it appears that it is low in stock in most sizes, so keep that in mind if you think you might want it!

PUFF SLEEVE MINI DRESS
This puff sleeve mini dress is a pretty blue with gorgeous embroidery and a bit of a boho vibe. The square neck makes it interesting, and I absolutely love the puff sleeve and the elasticized cuff with the ruffle.
It also has pockets. #andwhodoesntlovepockets
In this picture you can see how billowy and wide the dress is. And you need to know that it does runs very large. I’m wearing an XXS, and I still have TONS of room, so I would suggest sizing down 2 entire sizes. But listen, not only does it run quite wide, it’s also pretty short. But I happen to like short. If you don’t like super roomy and short, then this dress isn’t for you.
The straw tote is lightweight, lined, and very well made. The stripes are fun and bright, and the pom poms are playful and fun. It looks much more expensive than its $36 price tag.
MY RUG IS BACK IN STOCK
My kitchen runner is BACK IN STOCK!!! AND IT’S PERFECT! Every time y’all see it I get asked about it, but it’s usually out of stock. YOU CAN GRAB IT RIGHT NOW, but I’m not sure for how long!
I had purchased several rugs from different sources before this one, and none of them were quite right. The colors in this one are just what I was looking for, and the 2’7″ x 7’10″is the perfect size for this space.
Blues, reds, creams, and greens all come together to make this beautiful rug.
I’m sad I didn’t get a family pic this year, but I did manage to grab a pic of the boys! After church, my mom and dad, Chris’s parents, and my sister’s family all came over for burgers. Brody and Bennett are my nephews, don’t they look like they could all be brothers?
I’m going to feature this dress in a post next week, but I thought I would give y’all a preview today! This is what I wore to Easter service at church. It’s so lovely! The green is so pretty. The dress is sheer, but it comes with an opaque white slip under it. It’s so feminine, and I love all of the ruffle on the sleeves, on the hem, and down the neckline and front of the body. It has an elastic waistband, and it has got a belt that I tied in a bow on the side. I really love this dress, and it’s hard to believe it’s on sale for under $45 right now. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
These block heel sandals are FABULOUS, and I cannot recommend them enough. I wore them to church and for several hours after that. They are insanely comfortable. They are definitely dressy enough to wear with dressy dresses, but they can also be styled more casually with boot cut jeans. Again, I’m amazed at the comfort. True to size for me. And they are ON SALE right now!
I’ll do a more comprehensive post once VIB members can shop, but here’s a handful of items I love…
Check out these Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops! This product is for all skin types and it combats dryness and dullness. It makes my skin feel great, look great, and it smells freaking amazing. My favorite way to use this product is just to apply it to a clean and dry face on the days I’m at home and not wearing makeup. Sometimes I apply it to the high points of my face as sort of a natural highlighter, and it can also be used under makeup as a primer.
The Maria Badescu Drying Lotion was a product that I picked up during the Sephora sale years ago, and now it’s a product that I cannot live without.
PRO TIP: Don’t shake the bottle. The product is supposed to be separated like you see below. I dip a Q-tip into it, pick up the pink product, and apply it to a blemish as soon as I think I see one forming.
I use it, and Carter is now using it as well! It’s POWERFUL, but it’s gentle enough for his young skin. AND IT WORKS! It dries pimples up soooo quickly!
I picked up the Banana Bright Eye Cream on a Sephora trip last year. Shay loves it and totally convinced me I needed to try it. #influenced It targets dryness, fine lines and wrinkles, and darkness. It’s enriched with Vitamin C (soooo good for uour skin!) and will revive and brighten your eye area! I was using it and loving it for awhile, but now I’m completely devoted to the CR Tinted Illuminating Eye Cream
The Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Setting Spray has FANTASTIC reviews and it’s the best setting spray I’ve ever used. It’s alcohol free, oil free, and it hydrates while setting your makeup. The reviews convinced me because people say that they’ve tried dozens of makeup setters, and this is the only one that they’ve ever purchased again! Now that’s my story! I’ll use it forever!
NASHVILLE GIRL’S TRIP
