Flirty and Feminine

Sometimes an outfit comes together and it’s way better than I ever expected it to be.  (Sometimes it’s also way worse, so maybe I’ll do a post on those “misses” some day!)  But today we’re talking about one of those unexpected great outfits. It all started with THIS CLUTCH.  I bought it to go with a white dress that I was wearing to an event because I thought it would do a great job adding some fun and whimsy to my white dress, but I also hoped that I’d be able to carry it other times as well.  I felt like all of the colors in the clutch would help it “go” with lots of different outfits, and boy was I right.  So when Nordstrom approached me to talk about Rebecca Minkoff accessories, I knew I wanted to talk about THIS clutch, even though I’d already shown it to you several times on the blog.  But I thought, I ADORE this clutch….so I’ll just talk about it again.  I mean, look how darling it is.  And if you aren’t a clutch girl, there’s now a small cross body version available HERE!

I was wanting a fun spring and summer outfit that could be worn for a girl’s night out or date night, so I added THIS top.  I thought the color was gorgeous, and now that I seem to be totally in to the off the shoulder thing, I wanted to try one with a big ruffle!  I’m wearing a small in the top, so I think it’s true to size.

And then I added a great pair of jeans and my favorite cork wedges.  I’ve been talking about the wedges since last year and you know I love them, but now we need to talk about my new jeans for a second.  I’m going to go ahead and officially declare them MY SUMMER JEANS.  They are a nice light weight (not too heavy at all), they have a good amount of stretch in them, and the light-medium wash makes them perfect for the spring and summer months!   I had them cuffed for this outfit, but you can also unroll them and they are perfect ankle jeans!  I’m wearing a 27, so I think they are true to size.  If you are kind of between sizes, then I would suggest sizing down 1 size.  One of my neighbors saw me in them on Thursday, tried them for herself on Friday, and immediately ordered them as well. #theyarethatgood  She thought they were true to size as well.  Oh, and if you follow me on ig and facebook, you got a sneak peak at my new chambray stripe wedges over the weekend.  How cute would they be with these jeans and this top?

As mentioned previously, the pattern of the clutch also comes in THIS CROSS BODY.  It can obviously be worn as a cross body, but it can also be carried over just one shoulder.  You can even completely detach the strap and carry it like a clutch!  #genius

I think the gathered ruffle detail on the top is so pretty, and it comes in black too.

If you aren’t an off the shoulder girl, go ahead and wear this cute top ON the shoulder.  I think it’s just as cute worn like this with the square neck!  I’ve already worn this top with denim cut-offs and flip flops as well, so it can easily be dressed up or down.  If you are going on a beach vacation this summer, this might need to come along with you.  There’s also a dress version available HERE in a pretty light blue color.
