First MUST HAVE of 2016!

Okay, Ladies.
IT’S MUST HAVE TIME!!!!!
It’s been WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too long since I’ve named one, so I’m EXTRA excited!
I named a statement pendant necklace a MUST HAVE in November of 2015.
Before that, I hadn’t named a MUST HAVE since December 26 of 2014 when I named THIS pair of mid-rise jeans a MUST HAVE (a MUST HAVE especially for all of you who struggle with low rise jeans).

When I look back, I also should have named THESE earrings a MUST HAVE since I have been wearing them at least 3 times a week for over a year now.  But I didn’t know they were going to be such staples in my wardrobe when I first got them.
I’m going to try to be better about naming MUST HAVES in 2016.
If I adore an item and think it will serve a purpose in most ladies’ closets,
 I will be naming it a MUST HAVE.
This is my pledge to you.  😉

So…about the new MUST HAVE…

My friend Nikki has been screaming and yelling about this top to me for awhile, but I didn’t listen to her.  I ended up buying it a couple of weeks ago, and now she’s screaming and yelling at me to stop talking about her favorite shirt!  Ha!
She’s going to be less than thrilled that I’m now naming it a MUST HAVE…
but you know how I am….
when I LOVE something, I feel like it’s my job to let the world know that they should love it too!

Here I am wearing it in the new olive (with white jeans) and the legion blue (with leggings).

Sooooooooooooo many of you RAVED about it and you were all right. It can be worn with jeans, it can be worn with with leggings, and it doesn’t wrinkle. And although I will probably dry clean mine (I’m crazy like that), many of you say you wash yours and then either hang or lay flat to dry with excellent results.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small, so I think it’s true to size.  It’s long and blousy, but that’s how it is supposed to be. Some have commented that they feel like it’s tight in the arms, but I don’t feel that way.   Some also say that they sized down, but I didn’t.  I suppose the x-small might have been okay on me as well, but I liked the way the small fit, so I never tried the x-small.


So to be perfectly honest, when I ordered the olive a couple of weeks ago, I still wasn’t quite sure about it.  It just seemed kind of “eh” to me.
 When it arrived, I tried it on immediately and took the below pictures the week of Christmas.
I fell in love on the spot.
Even though I wasn’t wearing make-up and my hair hadn’t seen a brush in 2 days.
Now THAT’S a good shirt.

One more thing, I’m not wearing a cami in the picture, but I will (my favorite cami here..and it’s only $12) just because the slit is kind of low.  I ordered up in the cami and wear a medium.


So I took the above pics, and then I hopped online and promptly ordered the black, the legion blue (turquoise) , and the tawny port (wine) color.
It took me all of 2.3 seconds to know I wanted more.
I MEAN $25.80 a shirt!!!!!!!!  I couldn’t resist.
GO BIG OR GO HOME.

The black is supposed to arrive today, and the wine is supposed to arrive later this week!
I put the above picture on a blog post as well, and I had a reader comment that she wore her olive tee with white jeans, cognac boots, and gold jewelry.
I thought that sounded so cute, so I did too!

Here I am wearing it out and long and all tunic-ish!  😉

As you can see in this picture, there are some wrinkles. However, I took this out of the box it had been shipped in and immediately took pictures!  I was leaving to go out of town with the family the next day, and I wanted to get the pictures before leaving.  I had two readers comment on facebook that the only time that they’ve had to iron it is when it came out of the box.  They ironed it on low (I would recommend ironing inside out as well) and said they had great results.

Like I said in a previous post, you ladies are responsible for me ordering this top!

 Sooooooooooooo many of you RAVED about it (including Nikki) :), that I finally caved.

Pinterest took a break, and Y’ALL Told Me To!
Again, I’m wearing a small, so I think it’s true to size.
Some say they ordered a size down, and I guess it’s possible that an x-small would have fit me as well, but I liked how the small fit me…especially because I wanted to be able to wear it with leggings.

Also, some readers say they dry clean their tops (I probably will dry clean mine because I dry clean lots of my stuff), but others say they wash and hang to dry.  One reader (Hi Maredith!) said she’s washed her top and hung it to dry at least 6 times and it looks brand new!
And Kara had this to say:  I have 4 of these tops and always just wash and hang to dry! No need to dry clean. I’ve done both and really can’t tell a difference between the two washing styles!

    I bought the black shirt during the anniversary sale. When you posted other colors marked down recently, I ordered the olive and wine which should arrive today. Great shirt at a great price. I like it best with boyfriend jeans and the front just tucked in at the waist (like the gal in the flare jeans is wearing it). Tempted by the black/white print…

    How does this compare size-wise to the similar Pleione shirts from the anniversary sale? Does this run smaller (hopefully!)??

      This shirt is definitely longer. Is that what you mean? I have an x-small in the pleione shirt…..and I ordered a small in this one to make sure it would be long enough and blousy enough for leggings. Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

      The Pleione shirt was HUGE on me and looked awful (I ordered an xs) I ordered this must have shirt in olive green (size small) and LOVE it! Its a little big but doesn't look boxy like the Pleione did. I've worn it 3x already. Love love love it!

    I got this shirt for Christmas and am having to send it back because I had the arms-too-small problem as well as a boobs-too-small problem (I always have to size up for the chest) 🙁 BUT I have it on the way in another color (the one my husband bought me was out of stock) and I can't WAIT to get it! I have the other Must Have shirt in an emerald color (I can't remember the exact one) and I'm wearing it today – I LOVE it!! I also got the Must Have leggings and the BP leggings that you'd recommended before for Christmas.. So glad Pinterest Told Me To told me to and I told my husband to! 🙂

    I'm confused – your shirt does not have a pocket on the front and the ones in the link do? I just prefer the no-pocket version because I think it looks dressier but I can't find it. Do you have a link to the exact (no pocket) one you have? Thanks!

      My shirts have pockets too! If you look at the picture, the pocket is on the left hand side of the picture. Lots of people have asked this question today, but mine does in fact have pockets as well! Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

    I have a couple of the non tunic style and LOVE THEM. But are the tunic length ones leggings appropriate for the tall girls?? I'm 5'9". Help me fellow tall PTMT followers!!

      Hi Kristin! I guess it depends on the length of your legs and torso, but a couple of readers that are also 5'9" commented on different facebook posts saying they are able to wear it with leggings!

    I'm trying not to buy too many clothes now, but when you say something is a Must Have and on sale…I'm getting it! I ordered the black (back ordered) and the blue and white patterned one. I'm so glad I found this blog! I'm finally dressing like a grown woman! ;).

    Bought these tops on the anniversary sale…Forgive me if I've said this already, but have Nordstrom sew up the slit in the front a bit (it's free!) so you don't need to wear a cami (is anyone with me that having to wear a cami under everything gets old?!?). You're welcome alterations ladies at Nordies.

    I just have to thank you for telling us about this shirt. I now have it in 4 colors and it makes my life so much easier! I do early intervention with kids with special needs and spend a lot of time playing with them in the floor. I've always had a hard time finding things that look professional but still make it easy to move around. This shirt, leggings, and boots have proven to be the perfect combination to look both professional and child friendly. Thank you so so so much!

    First of all, if that's what you look like w/o makeup, then I'd encourage you never to spend another penny on the makeup industry! great coloring! You have gorgeous hair too.
    Ok! So thank you for sharing the tunic! Just bought olive and the Legion blue but alot of them are sold out (in case anyone is interested, they better buy quickly). The price is right! Woohoo! I only hope it looks as good on me as it does on you!
