Fall Outfit Planning

It’s been SO DANG HOT where I live lately.  People keep talking about a cool front coming through, but so far, these people appear to be liars delusional misinformed.  😉  Right now we are all just sweaty messes.  WAIT!  I’ve got an update!!!!  A  bit of cool front did appear to move in over the weekend, and I’ll take what I can get!!!!  WOOHOO!!!  Because I tell you what, I am DONE with summer clothes.  I’m ready to move on.  I LOVE fall clothes and am more than ready to start wearing them!  But, since it’s really too hot to wear them anywhere just yet, I thought I would play around and plan some outfit.  It was so much fun, and I’m seriously excited about actually wearing all of these outfits (hopefully sooner rather than later)!  In fact, look for a post where I wear these exact outfits that I’ve planned today!

OUTFIT #1

How cute is this first outfit!  The Wit and Wisdom beloved black jeans, a slouchy tee, a great plaid infinity scarf, and booties.  HELLO, FALL!  This scarf  is the one I got at our annual scarf exchange.  I’d seen it online, but it’s sooooooo much better in person.  The fabric is so light and airy, and the colors are just perfect!  It’s an infinity scarf, so you just loop it twice over your head, and it totally styles itself!  And some sizes are already gone, but the booties are 40% OFF!  Size References:  I have a 4 in the jeans (true to size) and a medium in the tee (I sized up 1 size).

OUTFIT #2

You know this time of year is made for denim jackets.  And yes, I’m still wearing the one I named a MUST HAVE back in 2013.  And guess what…it’s STILL A MUST HAVE.  And I’m telling you, I love it more now that I did when I originally named it a must have 3 years ago.  Because then I thought it was super cute, but now I know that it’s a work horse in my closet.  You can pretty much take any outfit that is weather appropriate (even if it’s super hot outside), and you can throw on a denim jacket with it to FALL IT UP.  I freeze inside everywhere (restaurants, movies, etc.), so this baby goes with me everywhere.  AND LET’S TALK ABOUT THE FACT THAT IT’S DARLING.  It’s such a cute fit (not boxy like the denim jackets of yore)…and here’s the best thing about it.  The fabric is soft and stretchy.  I’m telling you, YOU NEED THIS JACKET.  Size References:  I have a small in the jacket (true to size).  The jacket is fitted, so if you want more room, consider sizing up.

OUTFIT #3

While talking about denim jackets…last year I also added THIS DARK DENIM version to my closet.  I wear it a lot also! The fabric on this dark version is still soft and stretchy, and you will love this one too.

Here’s the dark wash paired with a sleeveless dress and booties!  Size Reference:  I have a small in the dress (true to size), but I would have sized down if I wasn’t worried about it being too tight in the chest.  Click HERE to see me in this outfit.  I have a small in the jacket.  But again, it’s fitted, so size up if you are worried about layers underneath.

For this next outfit, I took the grey tee and plaid scarf that was in the first outfit….but I subbed the grey jeans (for the black jeans)…..and I subbed the over the knee suede boots (for the cognac booties)…..and I added a leopard belt!  #BAM

And I feel like I should state that even though I haven’t worn them out of the house yet (because I might spontaneously combust into flames if I did), THESE BOOTS are gorgeous (and re-stocked!).  They are definitely what I’m most excited about wearing once the temperature allows!

And one final outfit!  I am totally in love with this romantic floral blouse!  I ordered a medium based upon the sizing (said a small was a 2-4 and a medium was a 6-8), and since I’m normally a 4-6 in tops, I thought I better go up.  Well, it was definitely too big.  So, I’ve sent it back and the small is on it’s way to me!  I think this blouse is so pretty with the grey jeans and cognac boots!  Even with the small, I think I’m going to need a cami (size up, I wear a medium) because of the deep v.

And if you follow me on facebook (you totally should by the way!), then you saw this fringe scarf last Thursday night.  It’s SOFT, and AWESOME, and if you are a long time reader…..it’s even better than the one we all fell in love with a couple of years ago.  I KNOW!  That’s sayin’ somethin’!  They aren’t set to ship until the end of this month, but if you want one, I would go ahead and scoop it up.  These babies won’t last long.  And see my fun earrings?  TWELVE DOLLARS.  The earrings, the scarf, and my shirt are all super affordable!
